The day will soon come that we will all be judged. Only He & Gabriel will be there to witness it! I will be in awe and praising God's grace. It will be my honor and lifes happiness to bend the knee and worship in person the Alpha & Omega. I'm sure we ALL look forward to our spirit being in His presence. AMEN!
When I read this chapter it seems to be a figure of when a minister of the gospel (star) becomes carnally minded in his teachings (falling from heaven to earth). Then smoke from the forces of Satan choke the life giving air and sun. Following the choking of truth comes locusts (false prophets). Nahum 3:17 would reference similar figures. I could go on..... but think spiritual figures of speech when you read Revelation and see it you see things differently. Chapter 8 when waters get polluted living organisms die. Sounds like new testament teachings.

A study of the metaphorical reference to stars in the Bible, shows that stars are iften a reference to people, not just physical heavenly bodies, such as stars, meteors, planets.
The Septuagint gives a completely different rendering to verses 8 9 - 8 Prepare thee a portion, tune the chord, prepare a portion for Ammon: she that dwells among the rivers, water is round about her, whose dominion is the sea, and whose walls are water. 9 And Ethiopia is her strength, and Egypt and there was no limit of the flight and the Libyans became her helpers.
It has been many years since I had read and studied the Prophet Nahum. I am so blessed by Matthew Henry's Commentary also. I can't wait to meet him and all the other Saints in the Eternity. I also long for the Greatest Wedding Feast Ever when we gather to begin our Eternal Home living under that Shikinah Glory!! The world will be judged soon, just as the wicked city of Ninevah. Repent sinner!
This is about the destruction of Nineveh they did notkept the promises they made to God they became more wicked God is A loving merciful forgiving God but we take God forgranted his mercies will not last for ever wickedness has to be wipe out we are not untouchable let this be alesson for us God is not mock what so ever A man or nation sows will harvest what is planted
Nahum 3 16 it says the canker worm spoileth and flieth away. This is a picture of the resurrection and is of course very important but i have found in the christian book stores King James Bibles that have fleeth away. I 've been told that certain publishers changed about 20 or more words on their own thinking they we 're wrong .i suggest you check to see if your Bible 's are correct.
EVEN AS REV.SCOTT preached on last night, when i start depending on "MY " goodness *(subject) rather than JESUS`S goodness(substance),i will lose.BY seeking JESUS ALWAYS will cancil GOD`s WRATH upon me.no one stands against JESUS , and wins,nobody....
