If you DIED on the cross with Christ: and ONLY Christ arose, and you arose a NEW CREATION, Christ in you, the Holy Ghost in you.
You are now just the BODY of Christ.
Why would you NOT BELIEVE the Holy Ghost communicates with the body HE LIVES IN.
Christ ONLY arose from the GRAVE, that GOD'S GIFT to YOU.
The written word ONLY declares the WORKS of God, to bring you to TRUTH, who you are as a NEW CREATION.
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (in you) that WORKETH both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
You don't think when you WILL or DO, it's not the HOLY GHOST talking to you, your his BODY, every second he is talking to you, CAUSING YOU to will and do his good pleasure.
The bible is his WITNESS to this.
Ezekiel 36:27 I will out my spirit (the Holy Ghost) IN YOU and CAUSE you to walk in my statutes, and keep my judgements, and DO THEM.
YOU DIED on the CROSS, only CHRIST arose, making you a NEW CREATION, the BODY of CHRIST (the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God)
The Spirit WILL rule all nations with a ROD, Christ in YOU, the ROD of Jesse.
We are the body of Christ; we were raised a joint heir with Christ, the Spirit of God that raised Christ is the LIFE in US, his body.
Everything that we do IS WORKS: but not OUR works, we will and do what God CAUSES us to do, EVERYTHING is HIS WORKS, we are just the instrument that God uses to do HIS WORKS.
Just as God created ALL THINGS, through JESUS; we do all works of God, through JESUS.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my Spirit WITHIN YOU, and CAUSE you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgements and DO THEM.
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (in you) that WORKETH both TO WILL and TO DO of his good pleasure.
Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth MY WORKS unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Jeremiah 51:20 Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war; for with thee WILL I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy the kingdoms ......
Amen. Nice point about where these good works originate, and yes I agree that our good works originate from our faith, and our obedience to God, and so that ultimately our changed heart directs us to perform all things that are pleasing to Him. All glory goes to Him!
Philippians 2:13
"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
Hi Cheryl1655. Just to add to these other good comments, in reference to "...even the Son of man which is in heaven", I agree that it should be left to how one chooses to read & understand that statement in John 3:13. To help me with this, I consider John 3:11, 12 as well: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"
I note that Jesus is stating, "WE speak...WE have seen...OUR witness". Who are the WE/OUR here? Surely it can't be anyone on Earth, as none present with Jesus or even seen in the Old Testament have ever spoken of or seen those mysterious things of Heaven. But 'in very Truth', Jesus states that there is a Divine Presence both in Heaven & now on Earth that has made such mysteries & Truths known to man.
So when Jesus states, "...even the Son of Man which is in heaven", the already perplexed Nicodemus is hit with an almost uncomprehendable Character of God & this Man before him stating that He was in Heaven, now here as a Son of man, who still has a Presence in Heaven. Even though there is insufficient Scripture to state precisely what Jesus was trying to indicate to Nicodemus, it seems that we won't be far from the Truth, that Jesus by coming to Earth, laid aside His Glory (see John 17:5; Philippians 2:7; Hebrews 2:9), so that He could take on flesh & live as a Man. But where did He leave His Glory, that He take on a position beneath God's Holy angels? I feel that this Divine Person of the Godhead left that part of His Majesty in Heaven, while He walked this Earth as the humble Servant of men. To Nicodemus this would have been inconceivable, but Jesus' always held His Presence in Heaven as on Earth - His contact with His Father & His angels were separated only by position, not by relationship & possession. Likewise, our relationship to the Godhead must also be.
In Philippians 2:12 Paul advices believers "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling".
Why fear and trembling? Fear what? Although the meaning of the verse is clear, I would like to point out another fear, not about our salvation but about our heart.
In Jeremiah 17:9, it is written "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" We don't really know our heart, we don't know how we are going to act when a temptation comes infront of us, that is why in the "Our Father in Heaven" we ask God to take temptations away from us.
In the parable of the Sower the 2nd and 3rd cases are about people who believed and were saved but still later in their lives they fell out,
Luke 8:13-14, " 13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection."
In the 3rd case it is very evident of where our heart can lead us if we are not careful in our spiritual life. Jesus said that "where our heart is, also our treasure is" and the opposite "where our treasure is also our heart is" is true. Jesus also asked us to love Him more even than our lives ( Matthew 10:37-39). Why? Because a. He deserves that and b. this will give us the assurance that we will follow Him to the end. If in the midtime we love something else more than Jesus then it is that that we are going to follow and not God, so we will leave our christian course. And that will lead us into trouble.
You said; It was by their works that He never knew them.
But if you examine Matthew 7:16-23 carefully you'll see that it was them trusting in their works and not his work is why he never knew them.
vv 16 states "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:17-20 goes on to give you the contrast between the fruit and the thistles and what become of them.
There's dead works and there's fruit.
Thistles may be a sign of dead works.
Fruit is a work of God and performed by God that the believer bares by being connected to the vine. Philippians 1:6.
Philippians 2:13.
This is what James is saying in James 2:18 "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I WILL SHEW THEE MY FAITH BY MY WORKS."
A person wilfully continuing in sin is not saved, so you can't lose what you don't have.
James 3:19 reads; "Thou believest THAT THERE IS ONE GOD; thou doest well: THE DEVILS ALSO BELIEVE, AND TREMBLE.
Believing there's a God doesn't save souls.
Also; Titus 1:16 reads; "THEY PROFESS THAT THEY KNOW GOD; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate."
A profession doesn't save souls either.
Look at those professors described in the previous verse.
vv 15. "Unto the pure all things are pure: (BUT UNTO THEM THAT ARE DEFILED AND UNBELIEVING) is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled."
If you can earn your salvation you can lose it.
If you can earn it you have no need of Christ, he came to loose the captives.
He didn't come to give instructions on how to live a saved life.( You can't. )
Salvation is him giving you life that produces fruit.
So shall we continue in sin? NO!
If you were baptized into Christ you are Identified with him and see sin the way he do.
This is what Romans chapters 6, 7, and 8 is all about.
I noticed you took Philippians 2:5-6 and separated the verses into different lines then made uppercase the things you wanted to emphasize. The verse was talking specifically about Jesus who was in the "form of God" and "equal to God".
Isaiah 41:7 So the CARPENTER (Christ), encouraged the goldsmith (YOU; the body of Christ, Christ does HIS WORKS by YOU, his body), and he (Christ) that smootheth with the hammer HIM (YOU; the POT, his body, he is the potter) that smote the anvil (YOU are the arm of Christ: as Christ is the arm of his Father), saying, It (YOU: sinful flesh) is ready for the sodering: and He (Christ) fastened IT (sinful flesh) with NAILS (to HIS CROSS), that IT (sinful flesh) should not be (re) moved.
Mark 6:1 Is not this the CARPENTER .....that made all things NEW: by his death and resurrection ....
You DIED with the CARPENTER on the CROSS, YOU and Christ were made ONE by HIS (and your) RESURRECTION.
Isaiah 44:13 The CARPENTER (Christ) stretcheth out his rule (YOU), he (Christ) maketh it (YOU) with a line, he (Christ) fitteth it (YOU) with planes, and he (Christ) maketh it (YOU) with the compass, and maketh it (YOU) after the figure of a MAN (CHRIST HIMSELF), according to the beauty of a MAN (CHRIST HIMSELF), that it (YOU; the new creation, the image of God) may remain in the HOUSE .... Hebrews 3:6 --- whose HOUSE YE ARE --- Psalms 23:6 ... and I (Christ) will dwell in the HOUSE (YOU) of the Lord forever .... Colossians 1:27 ... this mystery ... Christ IN YOU ...
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD that worketh IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
1 Corinthians 15:54 ...this mortal SHALL PUT ON immorality ....
1 Timothy 6:16 .... Christ ONLY hath immortality .... dwelling in the light ....
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be IN YOU, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL to GOD.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are GIVEN TO US exceedingly great and precious PROMISES: that by these (promises) ye may be PARTAKERS of the DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption (by the death of YOUR flesh on the cross) that is in the world through lust.
God's Word is full if warnings about the teachings and work's of man.
The only TRUE pastor of the sheep is Christ.
THE WAY is Christ.
We have to UNDERSTAND and BELIEVE what Christ's resurrection ACCOMPLISHED.
YOU DIED on the cross with Christ.
YOU were resurrected with Christ; A NEW CREATION, there was ONLY ONE BODY that was resurrected 2000 years AGO, that BODY was Christ, you SHARED that resurrection with Christ, YOU ALSO became the BODY of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:27 .... You are the body of Christ .....
Colossians 1:27 ..... this MYSTERY (of the resurrection) .....Christ IN YOU ......
You and Christ became ONE at that resurrection, Christ is now the LIFE in YOU: your HIS BODY.
He is the SHEPHERD of YOUR BODY your body does what the shepherd wants it to do, because Christ is the LIFE in YOU.
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD that worketh in you (the new creation) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
This truth has to become REAL in YOU; as this TRUTH becomes REAL TO YOU, you WILL SEE with different eyes.
Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the DEATH of his saints.
You have to BELIEVE God' s word: you DIED: only CHRIST exist, you share that by BEING HIS BODY.
Until then, you body is being lead by by whats described in Jeremiah 23:1-4
1 Timothy 6:16 Christ ONLY hath IMMORTALIY, dwelling in the light ....
1 Corinthians 15 ... this mortal (YOU) shall PUT ON IMMORALITY ..... death is swallowed up in VICTORY .....
You caught up, raptured, translated, into THE PRESENCE of GOD, to forever be the IMAGE of CHRIST, a SON OF GOD.
being saved and being born again are two completely different things.
romans 6:23 the wages of sin is death, the "gift" of god is eternal life through (the resurrection) of jesus christ.
jesus and all mankind died on the cross of passover, because jesus was raise from the dead; by the spirit of his father, death has passed over all mankind.
1 corinthians 15:22 as in adam all die, even so in christ (by his resurrection) shall all me made alive.
this happen 2000 years ago, yet man want believe god's word; mankind was saved from death by christ's resurrection, 2000 years ago: god's "gift" by the resurrection of christ.
salvation from death; has nothing to do with your works, it was given to you before your were even born: humble yourself before god.
isaiah 52:5 ...my name is continually ever day blasphemed.
my people; by that resurrection, you and christ together were made one: you were bonded; married to christ, a new creation, your the body in the marriage, christ is the life of that marriage.
philippians 2:13 for it is god "his life" that worketh in you "his body" both to will and to do his good pleasure.
by that resurrection you were married to christ: you now bear his name.
acts 2:38 "repent" ( of your false beliefs), and be ye baptised in the name of jesus.
revelation 3:12 ...and i will write upon him (my wife) my name ....
matthew 22:14 many "all" are called (to be save from death: the "gift" of god), few are chosen (to be judges) in the kingdom of god.
those born again by the word's of god, will be judges; on the earth, when christ subdues all under him: the kingdom of god.
1 peter 1:23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible seed, by the word of god, which liveth and abideth forever.
Are you saying you better than Judas, and you are not a son of perdition.
If the son of perdition is describing a single antichrist; then the antichrist was Judas, and the antichrist has already come; IF 2 Thessalonians 2:3 ....the son of predition is also describing antichrist; then there would be 2 antichrist.
The son of perdition is describing all the antichrist, NOT JUST ONE.
2 John 1:7 ....ye have heard that antichrist shall come, EVEN NOW there are many ANTICHRIST ----sons of perdition ---
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceiver you by any means: for THAT DAY --- 2 Thessalonians 2:8 ---the day the lord consumes you ---destroys YOU --- the son of perdition --- with the brightness of HIS COMING ---his PRESENCE IN YOU ---and there first must come a FALLING AWAY ---what have you got to fall away from ----- your deception ---- an repent of what you believe --- the son of perdition is not someone else IT'S YOU ---- it's any person reading God's word --- the word's of God are for whoever is reading those words --- it's about revealing the KINGDOM to the person reading.
If you judge yourself by GOD'S WORD, you want be judged with the world.
Antichrist is any and everything that isn't Christ --- the word of God --- all the beliefs contrary to God's word.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who CONFESS NOT Jesus is COME in the FLESH, this is a deceiver and an a antichrist.
Have you confessed that Christ is come, by HIS resurrection, and now lives IN YOU --- YOUR flesh ---- or are you still deceived and an antichrist needing to have your carnal mind destroyed.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU (your flesh) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Are YOU:
2 Thessalonians 2:4 ... so that he (the son of perdition) sitteth in the temple of God ---- YOUR the temple of God ----so whose on the throne ---Christ, or the son of perdition ----If it's YOU then get back on the cross.
Man is God's INSTRUMENTS, he does all the WORK'S of God through man.
Man just does not have the KNOWLEDGE to believe God is doing EVERYTHING, through man.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that worketh IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Jeremiah 51:20 Thou (man) are MY (God's) weapons of WAR ......
Isaiah 10:5 O Assyrian, the rod (weapon) of MY (God) anger, and the staff (weapon) in thy hand is MY (GOD) indignation ...
Isaiah 45:1 ...to Cyrus, whose right hand I (God) have holden, to SUBDUE NATIONS .....
Daniel 4:34 ..... and MY UNDERSTANDING RETURNED .....
Daniel 4:35 ....and he (God) doeth according to HIS (God) WILL ..... among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
God had a purpose for Aaron, also a purpose for those that perished, Aaron also DIED, just a differennt APPOINTED time.
God knows what he is doing and EVIL always works to GOOD.
Genesis 50:20 ....you thought EVIL against me, but God meant it for GOOD ..... to keep many people ALIVE .....
Judas betrayed Christ; EVIL, the Father meant that betrayal for GOOD: to keep all people ALIVE in Christ Jesus ....
Hosea 4:6 My people perish FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE .....
In the holy name of Jesus Christ we can and do have authority in the spirit world. Dear GiGi and husband you know Jeff. He is now not quite awake, perhaps not quite asleep either. You can take authority in God's name and ask God for mercy. Enter the sick room with hymns and praise, read the Bible. Go in peace and preach the gospel of Jesus. Acts 16:31 All ppl know Jesus they just need a reminder to go over to Him who is truly Good. Give God all the glory and always pray that His will must be done on Earth, and also in the Heavenly world which we do not see. Amen
Philippians 2:5-11 read the rest also. Stay strong in the word og God and be blessed in Jesus Holy name, love u all in Christ.
Can anyone LIST ALL the things that one MUST OBEY, so one want go to hell? an what if your fail to do one?
This is exactly what the OLD covenant was; a LIST, and they FAILED.
Christ did away with the OLD list if LAWS, and set up a NEW covenant, He would be THE (immortal) LIFE in the NEW CREATION, and he ''CAN OBEY ALL GOD'S WORDS''.
John 14:6 ....I am THE LIFE ....
Romans 8:2 For THE LAW (2nd covenant) of the Spirit of (immoral) LIFE in Christ Jesus hath made me FREE from THE LAW (1st covenant) of sin and DEATH (not hell).
1 Timothy 6:16 Who (Christ) ONLY hath immortality, dwelling in the LIGHT ...
You and I DIED on the CROSS.
Satan tells you It's still up to you to OBEY, who are you going to believe the lies of Satan or the SPIRIT of TRUTH.
John 14:6 ....I am TRUTH .....
Philippians 2:13 For it is God in you (the new creation) that worketh both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousand saints.
Jude 1:15 To EXECUTE JUDGEMENT ON ALL ----is this ALL creation or not ---- and to CONVINCE ALL ---is this ALL creation or not ---- that are ungodly among them of ALL ---is the all or just part ---- their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Do you think when this JUDGEMENT is EXECUTED against them it will CONVINCE them to TURN from their ways and bow and confess Christ as LORD.
Everyone (ALL) is either going to be a JUDGE or be JUDGED.
All this happens when Christ resurrects the ungodly back to their flesh and blood bodies.
Isaiah 29:9 ....when thy JUDGEMENTS are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world WILL LEARN RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Every knee will BOW and every tongue will CONFESS: CHRIST IS LORD.
Romans 14:11
Isaiah 45:23
Philippians 2:10
Romans 10:10 ....and with the mouth confession is made unto SALVATION.
They could be basing their claim on any one of the following pieces of scripture:
John 1:1, John 1:14, John 8:24, John 8:58, John 10:30-33, John 20:28, Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 2:9, Philippians 2:5-8, Psalm 45:6.
The Bible tells us that we are to worship God alone, and yet Jesus received worship and never rebuked anyone who worshipped Him. We see evidence of this in Matthew 2:2, Matthew 2:11, Matthew 14:33, Matthew 28:9, John 9:35-38, Hebrews 1:6.
Isaiah 44:6 reads, "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides me."
In Rev 1:17, it says "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as a dead man." In Daniel 10:8-9, Daniel did the same thing. When he saw this vision of Christ, he fell down as he was dead. In Ezekiel 1:28, Ezekiel sees the vision and he falls down as a dead man. It goes on to say "Fear not; I am the first and the last: (the designation of God, found in Isaiah 41:4, and Isaiah 48:12).
In Revelation 1:18, it says I am He that lives, and this is another designation of God found in Psalm 84:2, and Joshua 3:10.
I am He that lives. God presents Himself to the Jews as the living God. He says I am He that lives, and was dead; literally, and became dead, and behold, I am living forevermore, His resurrection, His eternalness.
And then it reads, Amen; and I have the keys of hell and of death. Keys are a symbol of authority. Those who were in charge of the temple had the keys to the temple. We are told later on that the Lord (Jesus) will be in control of hell and death.
In Matthew 16:15, Jesus asks His disciples who do you say I am? Peter had the perfect answer. Peter said "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Peter was Jewish. The phrase "Son of the living God" from a Hebrew standpoint is a phrase used for God. To a Jew, claiming to be the Son of God was considered blasphemy, but that was Peter's response to who Jesus was
Revelation 19:10 And I (John) fell at his (Jesus) feet to worship him, and he (Jesus) said unto me (John), See thou doeth it not, I (Jesus) am thy (John) fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony (words) of Jesus: worship God (the father of ALL, including Jesus, Ephesians 4:6), for the testimony (words) of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.
Jesus is our full brother.
Romans 8:29 For whom he (the Father) did foreknow, he (the Father) also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his (the Father's) SON, that he (Jesus) might be the firstborn of many BRETHREN.
We are also servants to Jesus, as Jesus is a servant to his Father. Just as Jesus, the servant, worships his God and Father, we are not to worship Jesus; but God our Father, we are fellowservants and sons and daughters to God our Father, and are to worship the Father.
Jesus told his disciples as he washed their feet he was SENT to be a SERVANT, a servant does the WORK for his master; therefore, Christ does EVERYTHING for us.
Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ....Christ in you ....
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH in you both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
John 15:5 I AM the vine, ye are the BRANCHES .....without ME (immortal LIFE) ye can do NOTHING.
No, I don't believe we're supposed to wear crosses. Leviticus 26:1, nowhere does it say wear a cross, as jewelry. However it does say not to make idols.
Recently I thought, if a person had a friend that was killed by gunshot & had a miraculous recovery. How would he feel, if when he returned to his friends & family, they had an image of the gun or bullet around their neck, to honor him. I would think it would be upsetting to say the least. Wouldn't he say, "your missing the main point." isn't it the life lived?Jesus himself being the example of a loving life, helping others in need? & the hope & promise of resurrection. John 5:21-29, 1Corinthians 15:42-58, John 11:25, Ecclesiastes 5:15, 1Timothy 6:7,
Bare your cross: Luke 14, looking at context, whole chapter Jesus in doing the better thing by healing, suffered rejection, hate, wrongful judgement.
A cross is painful, it's obvious, on view for everyone to see, not something we can hide in our pocket. It causes ridicule & even division. Luke 14:11, Luke 14:12-14, Luke 14:17-20,24, Luke 14:26,27, also Matthew 10, note Matthew 10:36, Matthew 10:17,18, Matthew 10:21, Matthew 10:22, please read in context Matthew 10, Matthew 10:32-42, & Luke 9:22-26, also Matthew 16:21-28, Mark 8:29-38, Mark 10:14-52,
Did Jesus create the world and all things; YES and NO, the Father created all things TROUGH Jesus.
Jesus is the instrument in the hand of his God and Father.
Does Jesus know all things, NO, he says so himself.
Are we the instrument in Jesus hand; Yes, he says so himself.
Was Mosses an instrument in Jesus hand, Yes, and Mosses was given power over Pharaoh.
The Father commanded Jesus to have power and authority over creation, Jesus is a God over creation.
Jesus commands his brethren, as they are translated in to the kingdom, to have power and authority over certain aspects of his kingdom, he makes them gods to certain things, and they rule as a god, and have power as a god.
Exodus 7:1 And the Lord (and God of Moses), said unto Mosses, I (your Lord and God) have made thee a (lord) and god over Pharaoh.
Psalms 136:2 O give thanks unto the God of gods ....
Daniel 2:47 ....that your God is a God of gods .....
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in the Lord Jesus:
Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, though it not robbery to be equal with God.
Jesus is not the God and Father of ALL, but has ALL the power and authority of his God and Father, and when God his Father tells him what to DO, he does so with ALL power and authority of GOD.
We will do the same thing, in the kingdom, Jesus will give us ALL power and authority of certain things in the kingdom, and we will be a god over what put under us.
This will happen when Jesus resurrects all the dead back to their flesh and the saints judge the earth.
Christ said flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, you must be born again.
This birth can not take place till this body of flesh dies, we can only come to truth of what God is going to fulfil.
Christ said I am the way, the truth, and the LIFE, the LIFE in you is CHRIST, man will not die to themselves and believe this truth.
You are the BODY OF CHRIST.
Alex quoted you Revelation, he who lives by the sword, the sword is THE WORD OF GOD, Christ the WORD, the SEED is the WORD OF GOD, Christ is the SEED, the SEED is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, this is the LIFE in YOU, so he who lives by the sword must died by the sword, the WORD has to destroy deceptions, lies and falsehoods, all of these are born of Satan, your carnal mind.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust (flesh and bone body) return to the dust it was, and the spirit shall return unto God that gave it ----your are BORN AGAIN.
You are the BODY OF CHRIST, you do what the spirit causes you to do, Ezekiel 36:27, Philippians 2:13, your the body, the spirit of Christ (the SEED) is the LIFE.
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God (has the mind of Christ) doeth not commit sin (the body only does what the spirit of Christ causes it to do, 24/7); for his SEED (truth and life); remaineth in him (his body): and he cannot sin (thy will be done), because he is born of God.
Jeremiah 51:19:24, Isaiah 41:15 ----God always uses man to do HIS WORK, Christ said of myself I can do nothing, he knew he was the body of the Father, he could only do what the spirit of the Father caused him to do, he said we can do nothing without him, we are only the body that the spirit of Christ uses to perform all his pleasure.
Can you be angry and not sin? Christ was continually anger with the Pharisees, yet he was without sin, why, because he was only doing what the spirit caused him to do.
Hi Sandra. T. Levis has given you some great Scriptures. I would add that: yes, we do need to pay attention to our lives, that they are well-pleasing to the Lord & our communion with Him through the Word & prayer equally important, we know that it is God, by His Spirit, Who causes spiritual growth ( Philippians 2:13). And 'His Will & His good pleasure' is that we grow into the likeness of His Son.
Those IN Christ, must always be growing, certainly not stagnant or backsliding. And a part of that growth is learning from our experiences & the Lord's dealing with us in our daily walk with Him. We need to be mindful of this & not discount them as something that happens to everyone, or as some would say, 'just our good luck'. Those in Christ are continually ministered to by God's Spirit - all that He allows in our life, whether good or ill, will be for a reason & often unexpected. Those particularly in Christian service in hard areas, as well as those facing struggles in day-to-day living, very often see the Hand of God moving on their behalf.
Some of my more spectacular experiences were on the mission field that certainly brought me closer to my Father & to trust Him for even greater things. And He will do for you also as you give, even your 'little faith' fully to Him. Once, when driving to a particular area in a S. Asian country, a brother in Christ who was also the driver, did all the right things to indicate a U turn. But the motor cyclist behind us, too eager to overtake us when he saw a gap, connected with our vehicle & went for a mighty fall. We were concerned for him & the outcome, as usually this never ends well in that part of the world. But the Lord was there: that man saw in a dream that he would be in an accident but didn't know the outcome. That his life was spared gave him much cause to rejoice & hug us all (this wouldn't normally happen after an accident) & my brother also shared Christ with him. We rejoiced greatly as we proved the Lord's intervention.
Psalm 139:8 makes it clear that everywhere; including hell God's presence is there. God; however depending on the state of an individual our soul has a different experience. With David; in old times sheol was the place of comfort as well as torment (see Luke 16:19-31). After captivity was made cptive (i.e. souls of the righteous were brought out after the Resurrection ( Psalm 68:18) then "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord ( 2 Cor. 5:6). Therefore; we saw some of the saints come out of their graves after Christ's Resurrection (sort of the "first of the firstfruits").
God cannot look onto sin ( Matt. 27:45-46). Christ was the "sin bearer" who took on our sins (see Isaiah 53; Numbers 21:8). This explains the Godhead in some sense; as if all of the Godhead died at the crucifixion the whole universe would cease to exist. Jesus; however overcame death as it could not hold Him ( Acts 2:24). When He said "it is finished" and died then the work was done ( John 19:30). The rest of the time He was declaring victory to all (including unregenerate lost souls and demons bound in the underworld) in 1 Peter 3:18-20 then He ascended back to the Father where He ever lives to intercede for us ( Heb. 7:25).
It is clear that every eye shall see Him ( Rev. 1:7); Rev. 5:13; Rev. 20 and Great White Throne Judgment). Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord ( Philippians 2:10-11 and also reflected in Isaiah 45:23. During the Tribulation men also will be actively cursing God and Antichrist Himself will blaspheme Him as well as those who dwell in heaven ( Rev. 6:15; Revelation 13). It is clear that everyone will know about God and Christ by the sixth seal but it won't do those any good who have not been regenerated. It is only in those God chooses to reveal Himself through the Son that come to know Him ( Matt. 11:27 and see much of Gospel of John including some of my commentaries on Predestination). Also see Psalm 19; ROmans 1
God Bless You
Works have nothing to do with salvation.
The wages of sin is DEATH.
You were SAVED from DEATH and GIVEN IMMORTAL LIFE by being resurrected a joint heir with Christ.
Eternal life is a GIFT of God.
It was given to you before you ever knew to do right or wrong.
The bible is the words of God; to bring you to truth of what Christ has done for you, and who you are as a NEW CREATION in HIM.
You are now the BODY of CHRIST, Christ is the LIFE in you you HIS body. All the WORKS: you his body does; are not your works, but HIS WORKS.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my SPIRIT IN YOU and CAUSE you to walk in my statues, and to keep my judgements and DO THEM.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God who WORKETH in you (his body) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
The WORDS were given so creation can come to TRUTH by those words that were written.
You can't be ONE with Christ if you do BELIEVE what he says he has done.
God Bless you.
God bless you
God Bless You
For there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few. 1 Samuel 14:6
My thoughts on Assurance of Salvation
Richard, I continue my posts from yesterday.
God bless.
I quoted scripture, is scripture a false witness, the name at the top of the page is not the one speaking.
Is scripture deception, or is the carnal mind the one that deceives.
John 16:8 And when he (the spirit of truth) is come, he will reprove the world of SIN
Do you believe he (the spirit of truth) will reprove THE WORLD of SIN?
You know he has eternity, is that long enough to reprove the world of sin?
If you believe man has to accept God's gift of his own self, then your don't really believe we are saved by grace and not works of ourself.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit IN YOU and CAUSE YOU to walk in my statues, and ye will keep my judgements, and DO THEM.
One of his statutes is to BELIEVE his words, Now, is he CAUSING you to believe, or is you carnal mind rebelling against his word.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
These are not my words.
Is it sin not to believe his words, is he going to REPROVE the WORLD of SIN?
God Bless you, my brother in Christ.
I noticed you took Philippians 2:5-6 and separated the verses into different lines then made uppercase the things you wanted to emphasize. The verse was talking specifically about Jesus who was in the "form of God" and "equal to God".
Ruby, do you think you are equal to God?
Your comment about the CARPENTER is scriptural.
God BLESS YOU!
God Bless YOU!
being saved and being born again are two completely different things.
romans 6:23 the wages of sin is death, the "gift" of god is eternal life through (the resurrection) of jesus christ.
jesus and all mankind died on the cross of passover, because jesus was raise from the dead; by the spirit of his father, death has passed over all mankind.
1 peter 1:23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible seed, by the word of god, which liveth and abideth forever.
god word is truth and life, a kingdom.
god bless you!
God Bless YOU!
God Bless YOU!
PROPHECY:
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit WITHIN YOU, and CAUSE YOU to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep MY JUDGEMENTS, and DO THEM.
You DIED with Christ, YOU WERE RAISED with Christ, this is the POWER OF THE RESURRECTION.
You are now the BODY of Christ, everything you say, will to do, or do is CAUSED by the spirit of TRUTH and LIFE WITHIN YOU.
Very FEW BELIEVE God's word.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God (spirit) which WORKETH IN YOU, both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery .....Christ in you .....
Matthew 7:14 ...narrow is THE WAY .....FEW there be that FIND IT ....
John 14:6 ....I AM THE WAY .......
1 Corinthians 12:27 ...Ye are the BODY OF CHRIST .....
FEW BELIEVE God's word.
Psalms 82:6 I (God himself) HAVE SAID, ye are gods, the children of the most high.
Your the dwelling place of GOD, your are doing the very will of God 24/7.
The question is? Do you believe God's word?
God Bless YOU, as our Father brings us to TRUTH.
Galations 6:22 kjv; Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Philippians 2:5-11 read the rest also. Stay strong in the word og God and be blessed in Jesus Holy name, love u all in Christ.
1 Timothy 6:16 Who ONLY hath IMMORTALITY ....
It was a finished WORK 2000 years ago; now, nothing has to be ADDED and certainly nothing can be TAKEN AWAY. This is the Gospel.
You died with Christ, and you were raise a NEW CREATION, it's HIS LIFE IN YOU.
You believe, because God CAUSES you to believe. He's the LIFE in you.
Philippians 1:29 It is GIVEN to you in the behalf of Christ to believe in him ...
You have faith, because Christ is the LIFE in you.
Galatians 2:16 .... the FAITH OF Jesus Christ ....
You have WORKS, because it's HIS LIFE in you.
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD that WORKETH in you both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
God Bless YOU!
God Bless YOU!
Are you going to judge the world with Christ?
God Bless YOU!
God Bless YOU!
Luke 14:11, Luke 14:12-14, Luke 14:17-20,24, Luke 14:26,27, also Matthew 10, note Matthew 10:36, Matthew 10:17,18, Matthew 10:21, Matthew 10:22, please read in context Matthew 10, Matthew 10:32-42, & Luke 9:22-26, also Matthew 16:21-28, Mark 8:29-38, Mark 10:14-52,
Philippians 2:1-15, Colossians 1:10-29 ,
Matthew 25:31-46, James 1:5,
Hopefully these are helpful

God Bless You.

May I add to the truths Alex has given you.
God Bless You as we are driven to truth.
I agree with what others have shared.
I would say the evidence of faith will result in obedience.
That obedience is not always resisting evil or wrong doing.
It's also not just you complying to a command. IT'S CHANGE!
True faith causes change that results in Obedience.
"Your heart" is obeying all of scripture that APPLIES TO YOU.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
I hope this helps.
God bless.
