I encourage myself frequently by listening to Billy Graham conferences on Youtube.

He was the loudest voice in my generation.

He just heralded the Word, giving no heed to the nay-sayers. Thousands came forward in his meetings to be born again.

He never minced words or apologized, for the Word (who is Jesus), that he preached.

Jesus is bigger than all of our doubts. If the preacher isn't preaching Christ, then it's another gospel.

    The gospel is the Virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Messiah);

    His sinless life

His crucifixion on the Cross And death for all of mankind's sins

    His glorious resurrection to life

If we know that much, then we know enough to help someone else be saved; born again. John 3 has all the info to learn.

    2 Peter 3

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

    2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

    Romans Chapter 1

    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

    Philippians 3:2

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. (Comment: dogs sniff things they ought not to)

    1 Timothy 6

    3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

This is what every country is experiencing. The Bible says that it will 'wax worse and worse.' Your faith needs to be strong in what the New Testament teaches on these Last Days before Jesus's Return.

The unsaved will be in these comment rooms preaching their heresies. They are reprobate. Don't listen to their rants.

Mathew Henry, verifies the spiritual discipline found in the pure faith of the Gospel. Paul describes this faith as to attaining a prize, running a race. That we should not rely on our flesh ,or our education, or our religious upbringing. Our frame of mind should be to attain the righteousness of Christ. That we can attain the power of his resurrection. fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death. Then can we conquer those who are against us ,with the power of the holy spirit. It is impossible to war against the evils of dogs ,evil workers ,the concision, without this faith in Christ. This power comes from above. From heaven!

    Hello Adam,

Yes, I am a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The standard I only desire to use is God's Word, and this is the only standard anyone can use regarding the truth( John 17:17).

Whether we, still imperfect in our sinful flesh, can "know" if we are saved or not is a good question. God tells us to examine ourselves, to see if we are in the faith( 2 Cor. 13:5). We examine if we are walking in agreement with God.

The whole of God's Word shows us that once we are born again, we become a new creature( 2 Corinthians 5:17). We are to be dead to our old ways. Dead to the ways of the world, because the world is wicked( 1 John 5:19). We are not to continue practicing sin( Titus 2:12, James 1:27).

We will still sin because we are still imperfect. ( Romans 7:23-24, Philippians 3:12, Ephesians 4:13). The difference is we do not continue PRACTICING sin, or WILLFULLY sinning. God does not judge by appearance, but by the TRUE state of our HEARTS( Luke 16:15, John 7:24).

If we continue our old practice - our dead in our sins way of living AFTER we become saved, we were never saved/born again to begin with( Hebrews 10:26, Hebrews 10:38-39, 1 John 2:15, 2 Peter 2:20-22).

We are still in the world but we are not of the world( John 17:16, Romans 12:2). On the contrary, we are tasked by the Lord to be examples & witnesses to the world( Philippians 2:15, Matthew 5:14, Romans 10:9-11, 13-15, 2 Corinthians 4:13).

This, I believe, is the "key" to knowing whether or not we are truly saved. If we truly believe.

The Rapture - the raising of the Church into heaven ( 1 Thessalonians 4:17): is the next event on the prophetic calendar. The Rapture is when Christ comes back and takes every Christian that is still on this earth and resurrects all of those who have died and takes them to heaven with Him. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-8, Paul expresses that the Lord's return will be like a thief in the night. No one knows the date or time. However, there are several signs of the End Times that we can all be aware of. Events such as earthquakes and diseases, war and dispute among nations, and persecution against Christians are all signs leading to the Rapture.

"Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."

I think the Saints are in heaven but will come back with the Lord to get their bodies what will be changed.

Also I heard this saying while I wasn't listen very well to a person (William Branham,I think) who had a heavenly experience he was told this by a Saint in heaven.

Romans 1:16-17 is often used as the key verses to summarize the book of Romans. Paul declares boldly why he is not ashamed of the gospel about Jesus that he preaches around the world. This message is nothing less than the power of God for everyone who believes, both Jews and Gentiles. It is about being declared righteous by God because of our faith in Him. Paul put the same idea this way in Philippians 3:8-9: "that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith." This is God's gospel: God's "good news" for humanity. Paul quotes Habakkuk 2:4 to show this is not a new idea: "The righteous shall live by his faith."

    Lora, CONCERNING THE WORD "MYSTERY"

I agree with you, the mystery of God is complex.

I do not agree with you concerning the "mystery of godliness" as it pertains to Scripture you provided, being God Himself. I believe it concerns the Son of God being born of woman ( Isaiah 7:14). Jesus is the One spoken of in 1 Timothy 3:16 and the One promised in Genesis 3:15

I agree with you, Jesus is the way to salvation.

I, however, must disagree with you that God is Jesus and Jesus is God, and again will state that I believe Jesus never came claiming to be His Father.

Jesus came as the personification of the Words of the Father John 1:1-2); and His authority came from the Father; and He lost none of His Father's sheep ( John 17:12)

But Jesus is not the Father.

The word mystery only occurs in the New Testament.

The word "mystery" is the Greek word "musterion" and basically means a "secret."

There is more than one "mystery" spoken of in Scripture.

There is the mystery concerning the DURATION of time of the blindness of Israel ( Isaiah 6:9-10, Romans 11:25).

There is the mystery concerning the kingdom of God which was revealed in parables to the general public, but explained to the 12 Apostles; ( Matthew 13:10-11, 1 Peter 1:10-12)

There is the mystery concerning the fact that "we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed" ( John 11:25-26, 1 Corinthians 15:51, also look at Philippians 3:14, 1 Thessalonians 4:15, Hebrews 9:27)

There is the mystery of iniquity and lawlessness that is connected to MYSTERY BABYLON of Revelation 17:5-7, (look at Daniel 8:23, Daniel 12:4, Matthew 22:4, Acts 2:38, 2 Thessalonians 2:7)

There is the great mystery or secret concerning the Gentiles being co-heirs in the body of Christ, which was only revealed after the second rejection the King and the Kingdom by the Jews in Acts 28:17-31. This is the secret that was kept secret since the world began and what is being spoken of in Romans 16:25-26, Ephesians 3:1-12, and Colossians 1:24-27.

" ...being conformable unto his death...'' by faith , we have as Christians entered in to the death & resurrection of the Lord Jesus ... " I live , yet not I ..." ; each time we are faced with a choice to sin or not to sin & choose not to , the death & resurrection process of the Lord Jesus happens in us by faith in Jesus.
  • DOUBLE MINDEDNESS - In Reply on Isaiah 13:10 - 4 years ago
Minded: means that is what you have purposed in your mind. Double minded means you have a conflict in your mind.

    Examples>

    James 1:8

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

    James 4:8

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

    Romans 8:6

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

    Philippians 3:15

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

    2 Corinthians 1:15

    And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

    Titus 2:6

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

    Matthew 1:19

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

    Galatians 5:10

I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

    2 Corinthians 1:17

When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose accordingly.

It's about getting the mind of Christ before we do or say anything.

Be aware of who is speaking in your mind: the Holy Spirit? You? The flesh? Satan?

    The spirit of this world?

Lost 1 on 1 John 3... Jesus took away ALL of your sin on the cross! If you believe that with all your heart and might, why do you think you are still a sinner? You said you repented of your past sin. You are a NEW creature! His FREE gift of Righteousness to you through faith. We are now of HIS Nature, not sin nature. Second, join the club on regrets. But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. Philippians 3:13 The best is yet to come! Holy To The LORD!

Whether they are spoken of separately or combined, the "Jews" ( 2 Kings 16:6), the "Gentiles" ( Genesis 10:5), and the "church of God" ( 1 Corinthians 1:2) make up the three-fold subject matter of the word of God. Every part of the Bible is, in general, written concerning one of these three classes or divisions of persons. Therefore, what is written needs to be appropriately interpreted and applied to the class or division of people to which it was written for!

The misappropriation of these three classes of people; "Jews," "Gentiles," and the "church" of God, into Scripture where they do not belong is one of the foremost reasons why the word of God is misunderstood, look at Galatians 1:13, Ephesians 1:22, 5:23, Philippians 3:6, Colossians 1:24.

Beware of dogs ( Gal. 5:15), beware of evil workers, beware of the concision ( Romans 2:28)

    Revelation 22:14-15.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates Into the city.

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

You have to stop and ponder on what real dogs do. Their noses are always where they shouldn't be, etc.

It's stunning to ponder. I've worked with people like that. Run in packs; respect nothing; have to be the king of the pack.

    I said it was brutal.

A spirit is a demon; dog spirit.

Juan, I can't think of any specific Scripture suggesting that we use the apostles or disciples of Jesus as our example. Though, I do know that the apostle Paul often asked his readers of some of his letters to be followers of him & others. Have a look at these: 1 Corinthians 4:16, 11:1; Philippians 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 1:6; 2 Thessalonians 3:7,9. As you know, Paul did not mean that he became some sort of special guru to them so that they had to become his disciples - He simply wanted them to obey the things he had taught them & to follow his (& the other apostle's) example of godly living.

James, it is wonderful to read that Jesus Christ is your blessed possession & considering the life to come is on all our minds, for sure. Philippians 3:20,21 tells us that our conversation (our citizenship/our life from now to eternity), is already in Heaven. When Jesus comes for us (in the Rapture), our frail, sinful bodies will be cast off & changed to become like His Glorious Body (i.e. we will be as He is in Heaven: 1 Jn 3:2). And for those who have already died, their bodies will arise from the grave (1 Thes 4:15-17) & together (both the dead & alive believers) will have their bodies restored to spend eternity with the Lord (whether on Earth or in Heaven). So for those who have died & their Spirits have already gone to be with the Lord in that instant ( 2 Cor 5:6-8), they will return with the Lord at His Coming & receive their new bodies. We have a glorious certain future ahead of us as we wait anxiously to see the One Whom we love but He Who first loved us in giving of Himself.

Our terrestrial bodies have no use, once we die. We will have new holy & perfected bodies in Heaven. Therefore, if a believer is cremated (although it isn't mentioned in the bible to be), they will receive a new holy & perfected body and will be accepted in Heaven.

Please read Philippians 3:2 Isaiah 56:10-11 Matthew 7:6. Those who are shut out of the kingdom of heaven are also so designated, Revelation 22:15. Persecutors are called dogs Psalms 22:16. As the dog was an unclean animal, the terms dog, dogs head, dead dog, were used as terms of reproach or of humiliation. Also referred to as very wicked and evil people.

What about Christians who were burned at the stake, Christians who drowned at sea, eaten by sharks, lions, burned in a house fire, and a multitude of other ways a person can die and not have a body left behind.
