I am a straight to the heart kind of person that loves it when something speaks at all levels of human relationships Proverbs 14 seems random but like many cultures it takes something seemingly obscure and makes it the focus of everything A healthy heart is what I d title this proverb A healthy heart devises good A healthy heart is not rash and pops off at everyone thing A healthy heart builds long lasting intimate relationships A healthy heart in every scenario builds up the human spirit with mercy and truth balanced kindness and maturity Most of all a healthy heart beneficially influences the life of others society and the nation in which it thrives Love it
To walk uprightly is to walk blamelessly and certainly with great assurance based on the Word of God Why It is because God s Word is holy and infallible and it has eternal surety upon it Therefore we don t need to guess but simply to trust God and commit continual reliance on His Word Interestingly whoever truly belongs to the LORD can t but be encouraged that God has given His Word that we might feast on it dwell on it and also act on it When we devotedly crave for thirst and hunger for God s Word and also prayerfully maintain intimacy with the Holy Spirit our thought processes utterances and conducts can t but be such that honours God The implication of this is that it is wise to trust God s Word and to act on it it has in built blessings and God s lovingkindness in it and it will surely deliver
God’s Word is never negotiable, neither is it debatable. As a matter it is right to say that it is addressed to the spiritual man and not to the natural or the carnal man. The truth is, what God’s Word says is what it means! Interestingly, there is what is known as the plain truth of the Scripture, and this may be noticeable on the face pages of the Bible- however it is far and far more than that! That means, God's Word is unfathomable and it is only for he that is willing to invest quality time in reflection, study and the practice of it through the tutorship and guidance of the Holy Spirit. These are words of the immortal and the invisible- hence, if there is a way that seems right to a man-but the end of it is death- that is referring to the natural man or the physical and the carnal man. Why? It is because the natural man is an enemy of God. For his trust is on the arm of the flesh. That means the natural man would always think that the counsel of ungodly is what he should hold on to as his decorum, but discerning that it is not pleasing to God. But the spiritual man normally depends upon and feeds on the dictates of the Holy Writ. The import of this particular Scripture is that it is only the counsel of the LORD that shall stand. Also, even though Jesus said without me you can do nothing, it is far deeper than that. In other words, it is only he that is born of God that overcomes the world- and the is the victory that does that even the God kind of faith that gets his sustenance from the well of the living God. As a matter of fact that should not difficult to understand for the spiritual man, because even though we are in the world, with all its mannerism, yet we are not part of the world. It is also true that whether this planet likes it or not, the Kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our LORD Jesus Christ- and He is forever dependable
What the Bible seems to be saying is that man apart from God cannot devise any plan which brings ultimate success. Man's plans apart from God always fail which leads to the death of someone or something. Simply, man is inadequate
on his own. Jesus said it clearly " apart from me you can do nothing".
Building your house is a function of wisdom whether you are a man or a woman. As a matter of fact you can't build anything without some measure of wisdom- and when it comes to the issue of houses or, homes, where there are couples, then of a necessity, the Word of God and dependency on it becomes absolutely important. This particular Scripture, Proverbs 14:1, refers to every wise woman, and therefore it has element of prophesy upon it- and hence it is only for he that believeth. ( John 1:12). However, something about this, is that it won’t happen in a day, neither would it happen in a month or, in a year; for it is a journey of life- and hence a marathon; for the just shall live by faith.( Romans 1:16,17). It demands continual obedience to the law of love. The interesting aspect of it is that, God has committed Himself through His Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth to be a shield and a buckler to whosoever dare to trust and honour Him; for great and worthy is He- and His name is holy.

I'm not sure the bible explains what that way is however it does tell us who they are. Matt. 7:22 gives us a description of there people. They believe beyond a doubt they have done what the Lord wanted but the works they do are not by faith they are by sight. The bible say's faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 11:1 So you see without faith it is impossible to please God
This verse means so much to me.. it seems as if I've been trying to put the words together forever bc this is how I feel if only I came to learn the bible a long time ago I would have been seeked these eloquent words. This verse it's my new way of meditation when I get upset with someone.
someone who is said to have meaning or expedient not seen from her academic background or science but how someone can control his temper is what is called a wise heart attitude
The Living Bible had me confused. It says the backslider is bored with himself. The good man's life is exciting. Thanks for the info provided. I am no longer confused.
@Brad Holland,
To study the differences between the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) and the other versions is something you should do with diligence ( Hebrews 11:6; 2 Timothy 2:15) and I believe you will conclude that the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is the only inspired word of God as I have. As for the vulgate text it is from the Alexandria manuscripts (Egypt) Latin based that the catholic church uses for their version translated by origen and others that is proven to be corrupt by most honest and true bible translators. The King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is translated from the manuscripts of Antioch ( Acts 11:26) (Textus Receptus) where you will find that most honest and true translators conclude to be correct. As for the original text there are no original texts and when someone can produce them I might start altering my thinking on this subject. God is never to concern about the originals, see what god does with originals and how he preserves his word ( Exodus 32:19, Exodus 34:1; Psalms 12:6,7; Matthew 24:35; Peter 1:19) more original writings ( Jeremiah 30:1, Jeremiah 36:27, 28, 32). God has preserved his word in the King James Version 1611 (authorized version). When a person comes to conclusion that all versions are of God they have not studied the scriptures with diligence. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways ( James 1:8). There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of is the ways of death ( Proverbs 14:12; 2 Timothy 2:15).
Women, build your home, it is your responsibility please Mother. No matter how battered and shattered your home may be please, build it, it is your home.

Prov. 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. How we need to pray for righteous leaders today, and that people will turn from idols to God. Thank God for the Word of God, for Jesus told us to search the scriptures, because these are they that testify of me. The truth is what sets us free, and when we allow the truth of God's Word to live in our lives, we are set free from the bondage of sin.
To be a wise woman is priceless in the society that we live in today. Knowing and seeking what the Lord's will is for my life is what wisdom is all about.Asking for wisdom then using it as I go about my daily activties...Lord where should I shop for the best prices for my household, which way do I go? Even in the smallest areas the smallest detailes of my life I ask the Lord for wisdom to be lead in a plain path.
Prov.14:34 Righteousness exaltseth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people. I am speaking an African based on what happens in most of our African lands. We don't choose RIGHTEOUS LEADERS to drive our nations hence comes so much trouble here and there. An issue that needed to solved by divine wisdom is rather takled by physical elements.Man in his own wisdom will always be a loser.Because Prov.14:8, says that (the wisdom of the prudent is to understand his ways, but the folly of fools is deceit.GOD save Africa and save my country GHANA.
I thought that knowing all about jesus was the way to HEAVEN....BOY was i wrong!AN INTIMATE HEART TO HEART SEEKING TOWARDS JESUS is the only way.UP CLOSE and personal.THERE is a story of a man trying to get sober by the JESUS of two thousand years ago.HE could`nt..NOT until he sought the JESUS of today.PERSONALLY,THEN he found sobriety..
GREASY GRACE is used by those trying to justify their sin.i believe we are to make our best effort in JESUS to please HIM.obey HIS COMMANDMENTS ....JESUS LOVES US VERY MUCH ....
There is life in the words of the Proverbs! The Proverbs are so relevant to every generation of man because mans sinful nature is always present on this earth and has to be dealt with by Gods word. These are God inspired words written by man to help man overcome sin.
How wonderful the Proverbs are for us today. Here Solomon tells us more than once not to act or react out of anger. Our focus is in the wrong place and is
very damaging to ourselves and others. We are told we have great understanding when we refrain from acting out of anger. Help the poor, bless those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The
Bible always teaches us through Proverbs, parables, and promises the two basic commandments:
Love God with all our heart, all our soul and all
our mind and all our strength and to love others as we love ourselves. If we could just keep these 2 things in perspective what a wonderful relationship we would have with our Father in heaven and our brothers and sisters here on earth.
When Jesus was here on earth he demonstrated this
very thing and the Bible tells us He grew in favor
with both God and man.
vs 4; if we desire increase in our life, we can't isolate ourselves from others who seem to make such a mess, it is a neater, cleaner life, without the mess but much increase is by the strength of the ox. which dovetails in vs.12; many have gone the way of isolationism, it seems so right to be a monk, but there is no increase there the end is death and loneliness.Jesus calls us to be in the messy world just not of it.
PROVERBS CHAPTER 14: KNOWLEDGE IS EASY IF YOU UNDERSTAND IT, FEAR (RESPECT) OF THE LORD YOU WILL HAVE STRONG CONFIDENCE AND FOUNTAIN OF LIFE, THE EVIL WILL SERVE THE GOOD AND THE WICKED WILL BE AT THE GATE OF THE RIGHTEOUS.
on his own. Jesus said it clearly " apart from me you can do nothing".
