Every day I ask my God for wisdom , knowledge and understanding on where to go , what to do , and how to do it. Every day is the same but every day is different : Never boast of what tomorrow may bring. It is a new day every day !! With God nothing shall be impossible.

Man's wisdom is like a well without water, in all areas of life. God is Wisdom. Job 28:28 "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."
It is man's wisdom that says; The fear of the Lord means; respect.

True knowledge and wisdom come from God. We should look to Him and the Bible for true wisdom.

    v. 6 - His 'wisdom' He gives is - from His word - the Bible. His word even says there is no 'other' wisdom - for man's 'wisdom' cannot save you - and we all surely want to be saved ..............?

(She) is the corruption that leads to the reality that the grass is not greener on the other side; in that we learn not to put our hand in the fire because of the number of times we burn our fingers in order to verify what we were told time and time again. The shame comes from the reality that we knew what the outcome would be.

( Proverbs 2) ls to make us leave our life in the Spirit of God. Those who leaves in the Spirit do things which is from of God, but those who leave in the fleshy do things in the flesh lust, which defile the body, that is the living temple, and war against them.

Tomas this book your reading is a real KJV and not the junk that is being put out there. The righteous will dwell in the land with the LORD and there won't be anymore wicked on this Earth. You could go into looking at it as a vineyard and where the LORD will take care of His children and How His consuming fire burns off all the evil wicked off the face of the earth.
  • Tomas Maurer on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
Why do you use in Verses 21 and 22 the word "land" and "earth". In the most Bibles always they use the word land.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
Joanne, What do you mean by "When I am in the Spirit?" A true believer does everything in the Spirit. A true believer is always in the Spirit. We abide in Christ.
  • JoAnn Hutcherson on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
Proverbs 2 is such an assurance chapter. Just to read this and understand how much God wants us to have the understanding necessary to have life, it's mind blowing! Who would not want this! When I am in the Spirit, I am content and safe because I know I have a Father who wants only the best for me. There is nothing better than having WISDOM from God!

Proverb 2 Supports my previous comment about proverb 1. I love Proverbs and I give Proverbs to graduates. I refer to Proverb myself. I am studying Proverbs 1 with my 7 year old grandson, now. God's word is true, today, yesterday and tomorrow. Follow His word their are great coincidences in store such as much love. peace, and joy.Church is wonderful. However, bible study is a essential. Bless all

Revelation 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

The answer to receive these blessings (v.5-12)understanding, knowledge of God, wisdom, guidance along our way) is found through His Gift - to receive(1), listen to His Words (2), apply our heart to understanding, seek diligently, He always blesses us.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
Prince, There will be more than; 144,000 v.9 in heaven with Christ that receive the mark of God on their forehead. But then in V.14 tells of the great multitude that no man can number will also be saved but will have to endure the tribulation.

"For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it". (reason please!)-the righteous will remain in the land but the wicked will be uprooted. only the 144000 sanctified sheep will rule with christ in heaven-compare Luke22:28-30, Psalm37:29,Isaiah35:5-10

We should always ask for Gods understanding , we must run , stray away form evil and all evil doers if we make friends we such people , we will take to their evil habits this is a warning from our God . All sin will lead to death . The Lord will always give knowledge and understanding just for asking him , we do never want to leave him as he has promised to never leave him .
  • Angela on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
God provides the word to guide us through life's journey, and the word is where we find good counsel to manage the life he has given us. There will be difficult times because there are wicked people. If we focus on God our eyes will be opened and we are better able to see the difference between good and evil, and stay away from evil when it presents itself.
  • Karl on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
responds to Linette; my interpretation of "strange woman" would simply mean a woman who stands "outside" of the LORD's grace and commandments, specifically to a licentious or adulterous one. I take the chapter to mean that the wisdom given in scripture is meant to guide you away from such people - men and/or women - and guide you to the LORD, how's that sound to you?
