I have just recently rededicated myself to our Lord. I can 't think of a better way to jump start my walk with Him than by reading the Proverbs of Solomon. I believe Proverbs Chapt. 4 's instruction regarding wisdom and understanding is a foundation that I can build on.

My heart needs to be protected, it needs that force of prudence and diligence so that i may stay ground and have life in abundance the way it is supposed to be lived
God loves us soo much I get convicted, restored , and at the same time rejoice in The Lord, every single time I read the wonderful word of the The Lord
This speaks to me in such a profound way Solomon is through the Holy Spirit is telling me to put away my treacherous ways The lies the cheating and seek the Wisdom of the Most High God For to love God is to fear Him and do His will Take me Lord just as i am and mold me into that which you desire me to be Amen
Live for God and his wisdom and you will reap the rewards that God has to offer you We must remember that God is the creator of all living things and that we should praise him for everything that Goes on in our daily lives Basically Let Go Let God guide you

Wisdom speaks for a man, without wisdom and understanding we are incomplete. God is wisdom, He is understanding, ask for wisdom and understanding and it is yours.
vs. 11 He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
I like how the Bible shows us the connection between the heart and our speech. We are told in Proverbs 4:23 to keep our heart. This world is geared to take our hearts from purity and fix it on many sorts of uncleanness and so we need to be the more so zealous to stay clean. Only then will blessings come out when we "hammer our thumbs"
God's wisdom is so paramount in life of Christians.It will keep you to stand firm in a right path and led you into the kingdom of God at the end your of your life. God bless!
This certainly is a good scripture for relationships. We have to safeguard or protect our heart. Don't follow your heart. The bible says it is treacherous. Protect your heart by reading God's Word, and letting Him influence it.
though it cost all you have (NIV), though it cost your "name", your "street cred", your possessions your time, your relationships, your intellect, your reasoning, your entire being, what ever you think, seek His wisdom & truth, everyday, even though you may not understand, get onto your knees, open your bible and seek Jesus' face & His love.
''Lean not'' is a Command of God,just as He said ''thou shalt not''eat of it( Genesis 2:17)for it was destructive,and so is also our own understanding in life,so We must submit,and get the understanding of God( Proverbs 4:7)in the matters of life.
I believe that the fact that 1st Corinthians 14:33 states that "God is not the author of confusion" may shed some light. I also believe Proverbs 4:7 which states "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Therefore, I will seek more understanding of how God would have me interpret this verse.
Get wisdom, and keep on getting it filled with insight (understanding.) Knowledge alone doesn't help if you don't have wisdom, so acquire wisdom. Knowledge teaches you how to load a gun. But only wisdom would know when you should pull the trigger.. without that insight, you'd be a loaded gun, an accident looking for a place to happen! Get wisdom, and with all your getting, get understanding. How??? Through your spiritual relation with Christ. Let Him live richly in you, He will impart God's wisdom to you. He will make you wise. Obey Him, Listen to Him, and He will make you wise. Understand it's not your own thinking, it's His.
I found this 'Proverb' in an old book - The Birthday Book Of Scripture, for April 14. I take its meaning as a past tense, asking us to examine our actions - cause - for understanding effect. An inventory of a path travelled. It has resonated a profound message to my writing, a memoir inspired by my late daughter, Lesley, born on April 14. Her life's purpose established at birth, that we (I) would find meaning in her path up to her death, and after. How do I understand? Maybe I won't, but I must nonetheless ponder, examine to let all her ways be established, marked. If one takes its meaning in purely present tense it negates purpose for self examination, (responsibility?) - a path travelled. Examining actions taken - history, can enlighten. Enlightenment impacts present and future. My little book attributes authorship to:
1 Cor. xvi 14.
First I realize that I am not my own. I mean my body, soul, and spirit belongs to God. Wisdom tells me the only way that I can live a successful christian life is to stay on top of the flesh because at my weak points the flesh will cause me to miss the mark or miss my goals as a born again christian. My sins are overeating, letting bad habits rise up and take control of my life. Without physical and spiritual discipline good intentions will not hold up on judgement day.The day that I will have to account for what I did while here on earth.Therefore I am not my own, I belong to God and will have to account for every idle word and action while I am on this earth.
@Anonymous,
As on anti-swine friend, there are still many denominations and individuals that are still trying to please god by practicing Old Testament Jewish laws where they do not apply in the New Testament church age. This is what happens when you do not rightly divide the word of truth ( II Timothy 2:15). Jesus is always using a physical situation to illustrate a spiritual situation as he is doing here in Mark 7:15. The issues are of the heart (soul) not the stomach ( Proverbs 4:23; 23:26; 23:7). If a person does not want to eat certain foods for health reasons there is nothing biblical against that, but when a person eats or abstains from certain foods to please God spiritually that is Old Testament mentality, not for the New Testament church Christian age ( I Timothy 4:1-5), and Genesis 9:3 written under the law, not grace under. Meats for the belly and the belly for the meats it all comes out at the drought.
