"dispersed " this means to go in different directions. "let not " this will mean do not go different directions. Prophetess Cash_Angel on Proverbs 5 - 10 years ago
The book of proverbs is the book of law which guides us on our daily life, we should live according to what the God want us to, Sin is abomination. We are expected to live the word and exercises it.
Various translations seem to have confliction here. Some say "let they fountains be dispersed " ans some say "let not " or ask a retorical question that seems to mean "let not ". Help me make sense of this?
I was young and foolish. With the most good and beautiful wife a man could be blessed with.I tasted truth and knew Gods word,But, through my stubburness and foolish pride , Turned from Gods Word, And payed over and over again through my selfish nature. My God has spoken to me in a dream last knight and reveled to me that if I stay the course and put him first he will give me the desires of my heart and I can have a chance at happiness and truly Love my mate. but only if I put God first and stay the course!! Thank you Lord !!! I Love my God

I just want to say thank you for really standing up for the truth and speaking it Bro. Kevin it is a real encouragement to see someone stand up for the truth in the midst of a sinning dying world. When i write my comment my intent is not to hurt anybodys feelings but write what God would have me write so i'm going to say this not wanting to hurt feelings but someone said he your married to an unsaved person and they want to leave you should let them leave but in truth you shouldn't if you love that person at all he you ever cared for them your really going to let them go so they can die and go to a burning hell to burn for all eternity i say man or woman he you let them just leave without a little fight for there soul there is something wrong with you there should be no excuse why you should just let someone go i mean come on people Christians followers of are Lord Jesus Christ who will stand with me to who the souls of are loved ones and not only them but strangers on the street he you won't go and tell them who will we need to get some convictions these days Jesus died for every soul not just yours go tell it on the mountin and in the valley go preach it on the street corner. You might be sacred to go up in front of people but paul says not to be afraid of there faces so go out there and preach the Word of God lets go to heaven and take as many people as you can with you. To all my brothers and sisters until i see you in glory or till next time i write i bid you farwell
Adultery has devastating effects on EVERYONE!!! If men would rise up and LOVE THEIR WIVES like we are commanded in Ephesians 5:25 then we would end divorce on this planet!!!
But alas, this world is filled with selfish and cowardly men! Until mean PRACTICE Ephesians 5:25 then divorce will be an epidemic. If you don't know how or what it means...check out 1 John 3:16, John 3:16.
But you are too selfish to put your wife above your own needs.
Proverbs 5 starts with a great and strong admonition that we should give, so to speak, committed and concentrated attention to the Word of God- and that refers to His Wisdom ( Psalms 37:4John 15:7). But why such recommendation? It is because God‘s love is always instructional, corrective, inspiring; and as matter of fact encouraging. And in this Proverbs 5;1, Solomon, through the Wisdom of God, places great emphasis on obedience, and that is with regard to, giving attention to God’s Word. You see, the truth; God's Word, is filled with His love, truth, graciousness, peace, mercy and loving kindness. And when we give attention and plenty of time to the dictates of the Word of God, gossips, rumours, backbiting, innuendos and lies that others dish out won’t affect us. John 1:12, You see, he that loves the LORD and daily feeds and honour His Word, is hidden in Christ who is hidden in God. It is a mystery and yet it is real. Therefore, Proverbs 5 contains so much, as it encourages towards righteousness, godliness and holiness; and also warns individual Christians against immorality. When the truth of God Word is honoured, blessings become the norm ( 1 John 5:4). In other words it becomes a daily occurrence in the lives of the practitioners of the dictates of the Holy Writ, the Word of God. And with that comes genuine prosperity. It therefore connotes that the warnings against immorality are highly important for the true believer, so that the substances and such things that he carries, does not depart and flee into others habitation. And that is because the things of the Holy Spirit are not compatible with the arm of the flesh. Therefore, the reason for such strong warning and admonition, the implication of this, is that we give unwavering attention to the Word of God, and to really reflect on it and not on immorality. The more attention and time we give to meditating on the Word of God, the more intimate we become with the Holy Spirit; and the more the blessing and revelation He will pour upon us. In fact because the Kingdom of God is already inside whoever truly loves and believes God and His Word through the person of Jesus Christ, then investing committed attention to His Word and the practice of it cannot but result in outpouring of the blessings and favours of the Almighty God upon such individuals, ( Matthew 6:10; Luke 17:21, Romans 6:16). God has placed ministry gifts within the Body of Christ that we can learn from- and that is beside personal study of His Word. And therefore, it is wise to take advantage of such favours, and ministrations. And when the right type of attitude is put in place in that direction, that would result in practical righteousness, as we conduct ourselves, humbly and genuinely in line with the Word of God. In Deuteronomy 28:14, it talks about the blessings of obedience- while the other part of it talks about the curse of disobedience. When you read through it you cannot but marvel no matter who you are. And therefore the importance of taking on board God's dictates saturates and fills our being and then puts it in our mouths, as we conduct our lives in righteousness. We also declare it toward sanctification and purification, and that is because we are the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. However, we must never forget that, all these are only for whosoever trusts and obeys; for you can't be wiser that your belief system. Hence the importance and relevance of genuine and committed obedience towards the dictates of the Holy Writ; for it has to be to you according to THE level of your dependency on God. That means devotion, humility and consecration.
Proverbs 5:15 simply warns the man to be content with his own wife since they are both one flesh. Because adultery may result in spiritual and physical separation.
I MUST STAND FIRM on THE ROCK( JESUS)!THERE are many distractions out there.JESUS,give me the strength to remain " in YOUR LOVING GRASP".I BELIEVE YOU WILL NEVER LET ME GO AS YOU HAVE ALREADY PROVEN..
This proverb has spiritual teaching on marriage. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the Church, and gave himself for her. The husband is to always rejoice with the wife of his youth, and be satisfied with her love always both spiritually as well as physically. The husband is not to let a stranger come between his love for his wife, but is to be holy in his devotion to his wife. Christ is coming back for a pure bride without spot or blemish. So this is the type of marriage that Christ wants every husband to have.
Proverbs 5th chapter let us know that we can't trust every word that come out a person mouth, it might sound good but not always true. The word of GOD is true, it keeps us give us understand to know when it don't line up with the word of GOD.
In vs.15-17; Here we see that we are to drink running waters out of your own well! Jesus said he that believes on him as the scriptures says, " Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water".Jo.7:37-40. And note not to be with the strange woman in vs.17 & 20! False religion has no fellowship with this well of living waters.
The "strange woman" here is the same one in ch.2 vs.16. Mystery Babylon Mother of Harlots ie. false religon; note mouth smoother than oil, just dripping with deception! The vain fleshy mind inticed to live by the works of your flesh without the grace and faith of God. Sounds like TV preachers promoting gain as godliness, from such turn away.
This chapter tells us exactly how temptation works and the outcome from it. We see all is history...keeps on repeating, it differs only on how people act as to the current trend of the society. I love reading the Bible, it keeps us informed and guided.
It teaches that adultry and having sex with just any woman is the way of Satan and will only lead to destruction. God will not stand for it. It's one of the worst sins of mankind.
But alas, this world is filled with selfish and cowardly men! Until mean PRACTICE Ephesians 5:25 then divorce will be an epidemic. If you don't know how or what it means...check out 1 John 3:16, John 3:16.
