The rod of thy strength refers to the Word of God The Word of God is the power of God

The LORD said to my Lord sit at my right hand until First is that this verse indeed shows the level of relationship David had with the Lord A deed rooted relationship to have been granted access to such significant and end time related revelation of Christ Jesus Second is that the verse reveals the discussions which took between God and of course his beloved son Christ Jesus on the need for Christ to exercise patience until his enemies are brought to him and are made his footstool which means or suggest that God was assuring his son Christ Jesus that those who are opposed to him and who rejected him in a shortwhile will be brought to divine justice which would of course be at the judgment seat of Christ Jesus His enemies are those who yielded themselves to the will and ways of the devil against the will of the Almighty God as represented in the person of Christ Jesus and his work of salvation on the cross at calvary

TO ME 'THE ROD OF THY STRENGTH' REFERS TO THE SCEPTER OF YOUR DOMINION. ALSO THE WORD OF YOUR EMPOWERMENT OR THE WORD OF YOUR MANDATE.

Yahweh God, the Creator speaking Jesus Christ. Bible translators explain their preface that they replaced God's unique name with capital LORD
  • Sosthenes Tuda on Psalms 110:3 - 11 years ago
This psalm is a great blessing to me. It means that with God on my side all my enemies can submit to me. On the other hand leadership is enjoyable with this knowledge this psalm. Those who work under us can work willingly when we submit ourselves to God.

Yahweh hath sworn, and cannot change,Thou art a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek. Before the foundations of the world, Yahweh God had determined, that Jesus would be a priest forever. It is after the order of Melchizedek, because He has neither beginning of days or ending of days. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us, until His enemies become His footstool. Therefore we can come boldly before His throne of grace to receive mercy at the time of need.
  • Loye on Psalms 110:4 - 11 years ago
The Lord made up His mind way back that you will eventually become a priest no matter what happens. It’s yours offered to you on a plate from the Lord.

42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

I think the time has come for God to reveal Himself.

That you do not have to be a pastor or church owner or be seen in a spiritual centre before you can be a priest (according to the order of Melchizedek) this name was first mentioned in Genesis there was no church at that time.

My dear brothers and sisters, let us have a look from the prompt.. JESUS is of the tribe of Judah in Genesis 49:10, Micah 5:2, Matthew 2:6. He is Melchizedek in Hebrews 7 ( Genesis 14:18). What does it mean? Read Hebrews 7:2, he is a priest without being from the tribe of Levi.. but if you count any priest in the bible, all are by the tribe of Levi.. So what is the link in between Psalms 110:4 and Hebrews 5:10... both didn't come from the tribe of Levi. Therefore what should be the consequence? Read Hebrews 7:11-18.. So we should be aware of this simple oracle.. as in Hebrews 5:12.

Well as we can see the Father and the Son are one, and Jesus is God according to 2 Corinthians 5:19, God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. The psalmist says in Psalms 110:1 my Lord said to my Lord. Ephesians 4:32, also says Just as God for Christ’s sake. JESUS IS GOD....

Psalm 110 does not agree with the hebrew text
which the Lord said to my lord.

speaking.if it were david speaking then the jews
would have had a christian king and not a jewish
king.the reading in the hebrew text is the Lord
said to my lord.david did not have two Lords.

In verse 18 we read Joseph was expoused to Mary and she was found with child of the of the Holy Ghost. In verses 19 the two were called husband and wife by virtue of espousal, a marriage vow. Jesus was a son given by God ( Isaiah 9:6) through the tribe of Judah in fulfilment of Genesis 49: 8-12. His lineage through Joseph was in fulfilment of Isaiah 11:1-5 prophecy. " and there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots." He was to sit on the throne of David ( Isaiah 9:7). His lineage was to be trace through David in order for Him to sit on Davids throne. Yet Michah says thus of this Massiach ben David: but though, Bethlehem Ephratah, thou thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of the shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose going forth have been from old, from everlasting ( Micah 5:2). This Christ is to be ruler over Israel was before Michah, the prophets and the patriarchs. David in the psalms, by the Spirit spoke of Him thus: The Lord hath sworn and will not repent, though art a priest for ever after the order of Melechizedek. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through Kings in the day of his wrath ( Psalms 110:4-5). In Zechariah 14: 16-21 He sets His throne in Jerusalem as King as Lord of Hosts. In Revelation 19 He is called, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Yes, the same person, bore the office of son of God, in fulfilment of Psalms 2 and His virgin birth and by the Power of the Holy Ghost, He took the office of Son of man to be a prophet like unto Moses, He takes the Name of Son of David to sit on Davids throne during the mellenial rule. He was the lamb of God to make an atoment for sin. He was a high priest of the order of Melechzedek to represent us before God by the sacrifice of Himself. Yes He is the everlasting Father, the Mighty God the Prince of peace, the mighty to save. He is the Lamb, the King, the Eagle, The Prophet, the alpha and the omega, the first aod last, the one true Lord and God.

TO SUSAN Interesting observation. I have the Croatian Bible where Ps110:1 goes (translation)
"The words of Jehova to my Lord...".
In the Bible I am reading (Serbian) goes:
"The Lord said to my Lord..." . Almost the same as the King James version. I have no problem with that changing places, but my father (20 years passionate Bible reader) has a big Lord-Lord problem. GOD BLESS US ALL

David's prophetic psalm was about a lineage of High Priests including Melchisedek whom God has sent into the world for the edification of the world. These were those without birth or death, beginning or end, like unto Angels who do combat with Demons, with wickedness on earth, and wickedness below and above. God will judge but his high priests will reprove and correct all sons and daughters who approach the Throne of God, seeking perfection and virginal purity, who subsist on Glory and revel in Gods bountiful mercy.

    In your Bible say:
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Instead; Yahweh or YHWH said unto my lord...
Yahweh is GOD, the Lord is Yeshua fleshly (Jesus Christ)
