Hi Kimberly , the names at the begining of each verse are the names of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet . You may also notice that each verse is divided into eight sentences . There may be some significance to that but I don't know what it is , I'm guessing only the writer knows for absolute certain. Enjoy .
  • PSALM 119 MEANING - In Reply on Psalms 120 - 3 years ago
    Psalm 119

The focus of Psalm 119 is the supernatural power of the Bible. When we read the Bible and study the Bible and most of all apply the Bible its supernatural power flows into our lives. The Bible is modern day spinach! ... Psalm 119 verse 1 says, "How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.

You can Google the scripture+verse in google; type meaning, after that. It will translate those names from the Hebrew or Greek.

Beautiful observation. Psalm 119 has each letter of the Hebrew alphabet.

Each letter has symbolic, graphic, and literal meanings. It is a very rich language with very deep meanings. Search Hebrewforchristians to get deeper insight into the pictographic language.

And not only dwelling with the wicked, but living in the flesh. For the tongue is a fiery member and cannot be tamed. Out of it comes blessing and cursing. This should not be as Paul tells us. Christ can cover you in righteousness to not only forgive you this sin, but send His Holy Spirit to tame this fiery member.

Antisemitism is against the Lord Jesus. King James Bible book of John 5:16 - And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

John 5:18 - Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

John 7:1 - After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Act 9:23 - And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him

Act 23:12 - And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

Act 26:21 - For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

Matthew 23:15 - Jesus speaks: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees (Jews) , hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

JR Church, (now passed into the Lord's presence) mentioned that each year has a corresponding Psalm beginning with the year Israel again became a nation. Psalm 120 certainly speaks to this year, 2020. The COVID-19 certainly has people world-wide distressed. Fake news and falsehoods seem to be rampant so it is difficult to discern truth from error. Those who seek peace are under threat from all sides both of removing individual human rights as well as the Saber rattling of conflicts and International wars. Israel, and Jews world-wide are experiencing much anti-Semitic sentiment and in many instances, outright attack. They are for peace, but the nations surrounding them are for war and are on a quest to wipe Israel off the world map. So, Psalm 120 is definitely prophetic for this year! It is time, like the psalmist says, to call on the Lord, because He does hear! Notice that the Psalm is stated in the present tense rather than referencing the past. Psalm 120 definitely is a word of prophecy and admonition for the present!

Pray for your friend, but judge him not ! You assume many things examples he had affairs, Well maybe he has asked and been forgiven for sins you judge him by. He doesn't attend church lately..is this a sin? Perhaps his relationship with God is growing because of things in his life you know not..pray not that he acts as you think he should, but pray he will find his way and don't judge his heart

I have recently encountered an old friend from my past. I have come to learn of his lies and deceit. My old friend is currently going through a divorce and has had multiple affairs with several women throughout his marriage. My friend has stopped attending church, the 'sharp arrows' are reeking havoc upon my friend's soul. I pray that GOD will have mercy upon him.

"My soul hath long dwelt with him that hates peace. I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war." (cont.) Our Master has commanded us to be perfect, even as our Father in heaven is perfect; and that we are to love, and do good, because we are of the same Spirit and character that is good. Our faith and patient endurance will prove most precious and we will glorify Jesus as we wait for Him!

"My soul hath long dwelt with him that hates peace. I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war." Our family recently watched a movie about a "one time" very popular singer/songwriter, and then followed up with some biographies about his life and death. We learned much about that person that made us very sorry, for there was absolutely NO SIGN of Jesus in his life, only intense selfishness.

Jehovah God hates lying and deceit so much that He is going to take severe action against those who do these things by the use of "sharp arrows" and destruction.

Yet the LORD JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOUR will save those whom He will save and cannot be subdued by lies. God's wrath is for the children of disobedience who do love a lie. Psalms 120:2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue. 3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue? John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

deceiful and lieing tongue always found themselves in trouple and seriouse disgrace. Being part of such friends can lead's to a place of embarrassment. Deceitful and lieing tongue can not inherite the kingdom of God, stay away from it and them.
