Discuss Psalms 21

Psalm 21

The Psalm seems to describe a king (small k) which would signify an earthly ruler; and some of the statements from verses 1 through 7 fit that premise. Nonetheless; there are Messianic traits from verse 8 on that indicate either Christ or God Himself fulfilling justice and wrath on the earth in the future.

Verse 4; for instance could fit with promises given to the lineage of David with Solomon; for example whose reign in theory would be infinite if he had remained obedient. These promises; however were not to be met with any fallible human ruler. We see sentiments to this in Psalm 2:7-8 as to us being the reward for Christ's sufferings as His adopted Sons.

Verse 8 talks of the "right hand" of God finding enemies. The right hand of God has been used to signify Christ ( Heb. 1:3; Rev. 5:7 etal).

Verse 9 is much like Malachi 4:1 as to the description of Christ's return at Armageddon.

Verse 10 is like Isaiah 14:21 on the offspring of the wicked; and can be related to Revelation 17 and 18 as well with the final destruction of Babylon (also referred to extensively in the writings of Jeremiah).

Verse 11 reminds us of Jeremiah 18:12 as well as other Psalms in the devices of the wicked coming to naught. And verse 12 is similar to Psalm 56:9 although there are other verses that discuss God making people turn their backs before judgment is rendered.

Finally; verse 13 asks God to be exalted so we can praise Him and sing to Him because of His power. This could be singing a "new song" or other related verses ( Psalm 98:1 and of course Revelation verses).

Sometimes I feel led to wait to respond, like on this delayed reply. I don't necessarily remember a discussion in these pages with "Ken". I also didn't want to be appearing as gloating over. I also didn't want you to feel I hadn't received & welcomed your kind words, encouragement & well needed affirmation.

Yes, you're correct. There are some who seemingly have their mind & hearts determined on their own outcome & seek validation. This site I pray will be full of GOD's truth, HIS HOLY Words & HIS Words prevail! I pray GOD keeps us from our own sinful decisions & pursuits.

rooted in the trust of our Lord Jesus,the author and finisher of our faith.Hebrews12:2

Must Trust in God Always. He is our strength and our Salvation.

Psalm 21 !!! It renewed my faith in God who never fail any of His Children

I love this Psalm 21 and I read often. This Psalms came to me in a dream one night where a lady told me to stand and read it in a church. After I woke up the morning I look up the Psalm and read it frequently.

Thank You Father For Being Our PROVIDER AND A AWESOME PROTECTOR

The strength of God is unlimited, eternal, in opposition to his enemies and to the good for his believers.Our King, the Lord Jesus has won for us salvation. We will indeed sing of him and praise him.

Psalms 21 is filled with promises and gives me encouragement that evil shall not prevail. Also is a prayer.

To me it means strength,and Gods promise to protect us from evil.

3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. Re: Verse 3, David, like all of us, was on the path to Hell but the goodness of God prevented that Romans 2:4

Whenever you trust in the Lord he will make your enemy your footstool. Whenever, you trust in him he will bring everything to pass

I thank a lot but psalms is prayer of lot of things an it's helps me an when people try to do lots evil things to me i turn to psalms an it's guide me though

Praise the Lord for he is worthy to be praised the Lord is powerful slow to anger and merciful

wow it is such an encouraging chapter blessed a lot by verse 7 it states that the king trusted in the Lord indeed those who trust in the Lord will never be ashamed amen

I thank God Almighty for his love for Universe. I Was not happy because of some situation in my life and I had a dream to read plsam 21. Plsam 21 is an encouragement From God to us to have faith in him that whatever He has promise, He will do it. He will fight our battles and bless us with blessings of heaven. IJNA.

Hello sons and daughters of the one true living God, please pray always that you will be accounted worthy to escape the hour of temptation that is going to come upon the whole world. And pray always that you will also be accounted worthy to stand in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

For awhile now certain psalms will just pop in my head! God words are for the now! Like a two edge sword. Love it,and grateful Hes always teaching me!

what a blessed time for this scripture to be given to me by the Lord as I came into my office. I went through some really disappointing situation the night before and the Lord kept saying read Psalms 21. I had no idea what it contained and when I read it, my God, what precious words and encouragement for such a time as this! Thank you God!

The Lord blesses His children mightily. And those who turn their back on God will reap their just reward.

I dreamed about this palms 21 And when i got up i went and open the bible and my pause raised what it read It was all about me that i will know my enemies and it s true

all you have to do is trust and believe in the lord and in due time he will fulfill all you needs. i find it hard sometimes to be patient and wait for the lord but i have to then humble myself and remember that god has blessed me thus far and hes not going to abandon me. all you have to do is have faith and no matter the problem the lord will see you through. bless his name
