Amen. We all have freewill and the evil people choose sometimes affects the innocent. But the Lord will comfort us when we seek His face.

Rei, Psalm 23 was written by King David as a personal testimony of God's faithfulness in his life. David was once a shepherd, but now he says that I am the sheep & rejoicing & confident in my Great Shepherd's love, care & leading. As believers, we use this Psalm joyfully, as we have also proven the faithfulness of the Lord in our lives, or we cling onto its Truths if we are going through some difficulty. When we try to align this Psalm for children who have suffered because of wicked people, we really cannot do it, except to know that these little ones do have a caring, watchful Father ( Mt 18:10: "in Heaven their (the childrens') angels do always behold the Face of My Father Which is in Heaven"). God is mindful of their suffering & these criminals will not go unpunished. We all suffer, even innocent children because of the nature of sin, & even though the scars are lifelong, when we turn & cling to the Lord, He gives healing, real love & comfort.

REI: when you come into this website, go to the search box and type in 'murderers'. We are living in days when we have to know where the kids are every moment. You may be called strict, but that's better than struck with grief.

The Lord is my sheppard. Who is this for because I know it's not for little children around the world who have been raped and or murdered.

I remember as a new convert, in Christ when my spirit was trouble and I ask the Lord to show me what it was, once it was reveal to me I didn't know what to do, but call on the only one who could help me, the Lord comfort me in one of my drakes hour. He lead me where I needed to go and provided for me like know other.

we must remember we are never alone God is always watching over us and always will, I thank the Lord for never given up on me, May will be nine years of never looking back, we need to look forward and let the Lord lead the way Amen.

I like to remember the story of a young woman walking home in the dark street, she was walking down the hill and became afraid, not sure why she was afraid she began reciting Psalms 23 as she walked which seemed to calm her and she finally arrived home and was safe. The next day see read in the paper that another young woman along the same path had been raped and killed just minutes after arriving home. She was disturbed by this and went to the police station to find out more regarding the young woman. The police has already captured the two young men that had assaulted the young woman. She told the police that she has noticed the men at the end of the street, but did not assault her and

I believe there are unique times of fearing God & serving God. Sometimes the fear of God is to fear His wrath that will influence people to serving Him. I believe a heathy fear of God is important, like serving a righteous Father that is a God of justice: Psalms 2:11 , Psalms 5:7 , Psalms 15:4 , Psalms 25:14 , Psalms 34:11 , Proverbs 1:7 , Ecclesiastes 12:13, Ephesians 6:5 ,
I love the Scripture Bob quoted 'perfect love casts out all fear' but that is what Jesus did in action & it's what we do when we LOVE Him, we trust Him through all fear, because He is faithful. Psalms 23:4 , Psalms 27:3 , Psalms 33:18 , Psalms 49:5
    Be encouraged, Jude 1:24
I pray God lead you to a good Church

Me too. I find that if I silently repeat this Psalm on an endless loop that it has a calming effect on me. Even when I am in deep despair and overcome with such anxiety that even breathing is difficult, this Psalm is so powerful that is is sufficient. Thank you Lord. Amen
  • THE LONELY YEARS on Psalms 23 - 4 years ago
I Look with Pity at what I see an Empty Shell that use to be me Pain Reget and Lonely Years Lost in Shame and Unshed Tears An Emptiness Beyond Compare A Loniness I Can Not Bear, Leaving my Heart in Despair and Seeking in my Soul for Someone to Care. When in Love I Bowed my Knees Jesus Set me Free and Filled the Void that Engulfed me. The Wonder and Joy of His Hope and Love these are The Miracles from God Above...Vipin I wrote the first part of these Poems when I was 25 the Parts about Jesus were added many years later when I started writting Poetry again. There was a Sign and Wonder that others witnessed they said God was Anointing them. Oh How He Loves You Vipin and Me, He Gave His Life...

I cant Dim this Maddening Flame that Burns with Desire and Shame The want the Need is there the Passion I must Share. Yet deep within my Heart is a Longing I cant Impart a Tenderness I have Never known a Love I have never Shown. Who can Set me Free from this Bondage that Imprisons me. When in Love I Bowed my knees Jesus was The Key and He Let this Captive be Open Whole and Free.

I am grateful for the 23rd Psalm. Many times as I go through so many things in life I run to this Psalm. I read it over and over. Many times when I approach Surgery, a hard Test, a Procedure or lots of things in life. I know that God is with me in the shadows of death. I also know that Goodness and Mercy are following me . The Holy Ghost is my Comforter when I am helpless. Praise God!

I love my Lord with every bit of my heart. I believe in his word and his promises. If I find my self walking in an unfamiliar place I shall lean on him. If I find my self laying on a bed of nails I remember who is holding me and laying with me and suddenly that bed of nails becomes a green pasture for me to lay down. He is my Great Comforter. I love you Lord. JJS

I have gone thru a tough time financially the past three years and it has just about drained me. But praise God I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Recently God woke me up at 4 am to tell me to pray and read his word for the next two hours. He also told me to read Palms 23 and I had no idea what it was. I soon recognized it and praise God it is seeing me thru.
