In this era where there is so much violence, hatred, and suffering; we can say this psalm as a prayer. And it fortifies me against fear of harm or death in the very bad neighborhood I live in. Often, it is calmness and lack of fear that has saved my life here. Whom shall I fear? Not men.
Dear Linda, I wanted to respond also to the part of your letter about God's Word saying that no man has seen God at anytime. I found the scripture, and some more that relate to it. No man can see God, but mankind, to whomever He will reveal Himself, can see His Christ; His Image; His only begotten Son, which is also His Word; words, and is the Sword of His Spirit, and we can see God, the Father IN the Face of God's Word; God's only begotten Son; Christ Jesus. The reason Christ is the ONLY begotten of God; the Father, is because Christ was always with God, always existed, was always part of that which is God, and literally CAME FORTH from God. All mankind that receives Christ is born of; begotten of, God BY Christ; BY God's Word, and by His Spirit, thus the Spirit of God's Word. For, the WORDS of Christ are spirit and life.
It is IN the Face; the WORDS, of Christ, that we see; perceive, and come to know, the Father. As, Christ Jesus is the EXPRESS Image of God, the Father. As, Christ was/is the very HEART of God, the Father, expressed unto us. Christ IS the Word, and thus the WORDS of the Father, speaking unto us. As it is written:
I John 3:I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
When Christ Jesus says 'My words,' they are not His as far as where; Who, they came from. The words of God's Word; Christ, are the words of His Father, just as Christ; God's Word, is God's; the Father's.
There are so many beautiful and deep things touched upon in the prayer that Jesus Christ prayed to His Father in John, chapter 17. One thing is that He says, in so many words, 'Father, you gave mankind ME, and I gave them your WORDS.
John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou GAVEST THEM ME; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have GIVEN unto them THE WORDS which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is NOT MINE, but the Father's which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

"I had fainted unless I had believed..." these few words provides the basis on which all religions are built, throughout the ages: Moses, Abraham, David, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, Jesus Himself...Stephen and all the christian martyrs that followed to us today, had we not believed, all would have been lost
Psalm 27 is my favorite scripture.
10 & 13 When my father and mother forsake me...I never understood clearly why I was sent away at age 8 to live with a relative to help care for 2 children. I would always ask GOD why, with tears, longing for my siblings. When I first read this scripture. It really strengthen me. GOD let me know that no matter what, with or without mother or father; he would never leave me!!! Thank you GOD.
verse 13. is my most tresured scripture. No matter what you hear, see, or loose in this life. one must know GOD IS GOOD AND CHANGE,S NOT. THIS VERSE IS MY LIFELINE. In time of sadness this verse keep,s me sane. this verse keeps me from turning to drugs or anything else that is not good for me.
Psalms 27 is one of the greatest division of Psalms. I find "The Lord is my light (bright and joy) and my salvation(deliverance, help, liberty, safety, prosperity)whom shall I fear? Oh what a consolidation! What confident! What Peace! In that first verse...Thank you Lord(Self-Existent) for your love and grace for us who You love so much!!!!

When I was a teenager my pastor passed out chapters to certain member of our church and said God wants us to always remember so when the enemy comes against us we would have our chapters in our hearts and can go through the trials. I was young and i really did not understand but as i go through life and times get hard i can really understand this chapter. I am 45 years old now and the older i get the more i understand and I tell you God is always with me and calms me just by remember this chapter that he through my paster has given me. Thank you Lord and thanks to my Pastor Bro. W.E. Lacy for obeying God
I have turned to this book and chapter for Strenght and to be Lifted up. July 2009 thru now (May 2010)I have been thru a terrible time, some the terrible time was caused by what I would consider my enimies. This chapter speaks on enimies as well as strengh and lifting up in life with God.
I agree, and I praise God so much for sending forth His only begotten Son; His Word; His righteousness, to be born into the world in that body of the form of a man, to take our place of sin, and death, and that we may be in Him, and Him in us, and that we may, in the name of Jesus, take authority over all the power of the enemy that seeks to seduce, lure, and distract, mankind from God's Word. For, the real enemies of all mankind are devils, that work to pervert and corrupt the righteousness of God in the eyes, and ears, and minds, of mankind, as it is written Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, CONDEMNED sin in the flesh:
For this cause He came, and for this cause may we more and more lift Him; our Head; God's Word; God's Power, UP, declaring Him; declaring the Word of God; Lifting Him up with our voices, over all the power of then enemy, and that as many of mankind as will hear, and receive Him, will hear, and receive Him. For, as surely as Christ Jesus was raised up, upon the cross, we raise Him up that is risen, and victorious, when we declare Him; God's Word, Who is our HEAD; our Lord, and Saviour. As it is written, Psalms 27:6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies ROUND ABOUT ME: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
And, as it is written, John 12:32 And I, IF I BE LIFTED UP from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Our Heavenly Father will chastise His people as sorely as necessary, all those that continue in sin, doing all He can to get their attention, their eyes upon Him, their hearts seeking His merciful forgiveness, because there is no sin worth spending eternity in eternal damnation, and there is no chastisement so sore that it would not be worth it all, should it move one to call upon the Lord, to repent of his/her sins before God, and be saved from the wages of sin, which is death in eternal damnation.
Tommorrow is an event in my life, which in anticipation of, has troubled me greatly. Due to circumstances, I have only this late in the day read my psalm of the day. It indeed tells me my Father will be with me. My need is to rest upon the Rock provided.
this scripture has gotten me thru my cocaine addiction and even today it gets me through the tough times day to day. I thank god for this book kof psalms
Psalms 27 Is the chapter that brings me refuge when I feel down and lonely waiting on the Lord to bring forth a good Godly man into my life I have been living alone for quite awhile now and have made bad choices but God picked me up and has placed me on his rock so I could see him more brighter than ever before he has loved me and talked to me and I know that he will bring forth my desires as I delight myself in his love.
The bible online is a beautiful thing! When I'm down, I can go to my favourite psalm: 27 and feel renewed. I thank you and I know God will bless His works!
Psalm 27 is my UPLIFTER!! In 2004, I was faced with some of the WORST tribulations in my life! It was then that Psalm 27 became my Confidant. The words of Psalm 27 are so POWERFUL!! Through those words, I learned to TRUST GOD in my GOOD and BAD times! In 2009, I was faced with what has been the HARDEST thing I ever had to deal with...the lost of my child! It felt as if a part of my SOUL had left my body....but my daily reading of PSALM 27 has given me some ease to my pain....because I know that GOD is here with me!! All I have to do is WAIT ON HIM and HE Shall STRENGTHEN MY HEART!! GLORY BE TO GOD....
This chapter is very uplifting. In times of sorrow and weakness you can find comfort in these words. It reminds you that the Lord is always there for you even when your loved ones have forsaken you, he will never desert you. Have faith in him and he will see us through. Amen.
I believe this scipture really helps me through my life each and everyday, it helps me to become stronger and waiting on the Lord. "One thing I desire is to dewell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life" I feel wanting to be with the Lord forever is what I waiting on to see...because being with the Lord, you will have ever lasting Life, this is a temporary world and know it going to get worst. Trust God and Know he will bring you through whatever may come your way. Psalm 27 is my favorite...it gives me a peace of mind.
Since the lost of my brother and then later my mother both in 1999, Psalms 27 has been my help and I challenge anyone to apply this chapter to their life. Psalms 27 seems to cover so much.
