I am accused of rape by a woman who thinks I have money, God knows I am innocent. I am a backslider but I still believe in God like no one could ever have prove of His Love and His existence. I need help, I am afflicted on every side, I 'm on drugs , I abuse alcohol and I don 't know how to get out of this torment. I fast one week and the next than I get drunk or end up with prostitute. I even pray to GOD that He would please let me die. Cos I can 't take this anymore. My wife is starting to hate me, my children live in fear and things are just getting worse. Please help me!

The word 'afflictions' doesn't actually mean illnesses, sicknesses or diseases but it also means troubles(of which diseases are included). Many are the afflictions of the righteous...Who are the righteous ones? 2cor 5:21 says, anybody in Christ Jesus, the one who is born again is the righteousness of God. Rom 5:17 reiterates the same thing. So you may be born again now and probably going through some heat right now,may be in your finances, business, physical body, academics, marriage, relationship, ministry, etc. But you know what? God's Word is coming to you now. Do not be discouraged, do not fear, do not cry. Maintain your composure because God will surely deliver you out that trouble. Hallelujah! How? By continuously speaking what God has said about you concerning your situation, in His written Word. You can start with this same verse. Forexample: one with an affliction in his/her finances keep saying( psalm 23), "the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want..." Dont stop talking it, just keep saying it. And God's Word will surely prevail. Hallelujah!

The Lord is so good to me all the time.I will continue to praise him. I experienced verse 7 one morning, when I was about to enter my car and drove off to work. It seems there was a presence of something physically preventing me from opening the car door. As much as I tried, I just could not get close to the car. Then something whispered'take the bus to work today'. Reluctantly I obeyed and was late to work. I did not understand what was happening to me. Then after midnight, while we were sleeping, we heard a big crash, somebody had drove into my car head on, my car beyond repair and the car was not register to anybody, the police could not trace the owner or where it comes from in Uk. I give all the thanks and praises to God for saving me.

I am specially enthused by verse 1. This stems from David's attitude of praising the Lord in the midst of his plight. We need to recall that at this time, Abimelech had driven him away from the land; and David was indeed distressed. But the challenge lies in the fact that inspite of that difficulty, David was still praising God, and in short declared it as a duty to praise God at all times. Yes, the bible said that praise is comely; and of course, God gets moved when we praise Him. In moments of praise, bible passages are replete with testimonies that God comes down in His power, and difficulties are always made easy. How we need to learn to maintain the attitude of praising God, no matter the situation! My personal experience when I had ghastly motor accident made me know that God feels proud if we praise Him in the midst of challenge. May God teach us to learn to look away from our problems and look unto God, the solution, with the attitude of praise in Jesus name. No wonder God called David a man after His Heart.
