The first 8 verses in Psalm 44 give us a brief overview of the history if Israel; with God leading them to victory over their enemies largely fought by the Lord Himself. We think of men like Joshua and Caleb; whose victory over Jericho was due to deliverance as a result of trusting God in obedience in what seemed like a bizarre invasion plan. We should also realize that quite often when there were casualties among the camp it was due to a direct sin of the people (usually tied with idol worship or in Saul's case heeding to the people's desires rather than God's specific instructions).
Verses 9 through 11 show how once again the armies of Israel were being defeated. Verse 11 has a similar tone to verse 22 which appears in a statement by Paul in regard to the Apostles being persecuted ( Romans 8:36). It is also true that Chris Himself was led like this as prophesied in Isaiah 53:7. Evidence of being sold into slavery is in verse 12. Verse 16 talks of the voice o he who blasphemes; that could be true of the Assyrian king as well as Antichrist in the future. Evidently in this case; adherance to the covenant or worship of false gods at this time was NOT an issue (v. 20).
The rest of the Psalm (verses 23-26) seem to indicate that God appears to have taken a sabbatical so to speak in regard to action to deliver His people. This is the affect of the Godly remnant who remain on the earth in the end times in particular. The time of "Jacob's trouble" necessitates a trial; but His people will eventually be delivered out of it. Even verses in Deuteronomy mention tribulation and that God is still present at that time. Despite all the attempts of the enemy the Lord has a plan for His people that cannot fail ultimately.

Grant us, Lord God, a vision of your world as your love would have it: a world where the weak are protected, and none go hungry or poor; a world where the riches of creation are shared, and everyone can enjoy them; a world where different races and cultures live in harmony and mutual respect; a world where peace is built with justice, and justice is guided by love. Give us the inspiration and courage to build it, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Holy Bible stirs a many Hearts out there which includes me. Has anyone noted the reference to Dragons in this Bible story?
This is incredible the passage in Job about Dragons makes me aware that dragon's truly did walk the Earth.
This is why, I refer to myself as Bible Student; we as believers', learn something new everyday from the Bible. Well now we know that dragon's aren't a myth after all, Universally on every continent all people everywhere has Dragon, Giants, and Monster stories this is a wonderful feeling to know the Oral Stories are true.
"Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen." We have all read the part when the Lord was arrested in the garden, and confirmed the necessity of the Scriptures being fulfilled; saying, "All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered." This Word is still in action today.
"Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us. Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people." Until we become really of the same mind as Jesus, the adversity and tribulations of life will continue to be a stumbling-block. We have to understand that NOW is not yet our time, and this world NOT our long home.
Dear Robert, Leslie, Carol, Andrew, Lisa, Anita, Alex, Annie, Steve, Bruce, Jeff, Daniel, and ALL WHO LOVE OUR LORD JESUS; I am very blessed by reading what you wrote. I hope this most dreadful and troubled time we are in just now passes quickly; for I am so looking forward to me and my wife meeting and knowing you all! The Lord bless you all and keep you healthy and strong and safe till He comes.
This beautiful and profound Psalm, as is all of God's Word spoke to my spirit in a mighty way. It caused me to meditate on what the importance of those faithful, that have walked with God who have gone before us. It is good to be reminded that God knows the secrets of our hearts, that nothing is hidden from our Heavenly Father. Let us boast in the Cross of Christ each day of our lives. Praise God!
We must make sure we are having a relationship with God. Seeking Him each day of our lives. He is the only one that can protect us through the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name Amen
We all must Remember that God is Our help in times of troubles and there is nothing done that will not be revealed. Life lessons are Gods instruction and instruments to God's Divine Graces!!
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
In this Psalm, is like the Sermon on the mount, and the Lord's discourse at the Last Supper: that we are sent into the world as God's ambassadors; and our lives for signs and wonders, for instruction unto salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. What we bear up under because of the ungodly, is for the Father's purposes; but we know our end in Jesus from the beginning, no matter what men may do.
Sometimes it's hard to walk the high road but that is what God calls us to do. When we focus less on temptation and dwell in the presence of God we find peace. Evil cannot be overcome by evil.
God is love and God does love us. I Thank God for His love. I'm thankful for the coverage God has on me. Thank you God for helping me in my good and bad days. I thank you God Amen
This Psalm truly spoke to my heart as this is exactly where I find myself and how I feeling. All my life I have always held onto God as this is what I have been taught by my elders. My faith in God is what Gets me through every second of my life. The blood of Jesus is what gives me strength from day to day and I will forever hold onto Him. Waiting in faith for my God to save me from all affliction and pain. My prayer in life is not just for myself and my family but for every person on earth and every family to be saved and to walk in the will of GOD for our lives. Thank you for this page and encouragement, may GOD continue to use you in blessing HiS people. God bless you all.

Timothy Wayne George on Psalms 44:22 - 11 years ago
Yea, for thy sake are we Killed all day; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. The Apostle Paul quoted this verse in Romans 8 and we too as Israel of God, have the same promise that nothing can separate us from the love of God; neither death, nor persecution, nor distress; for we are more than victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord. So we will praise God always, because He is our strength for ever. Jesus said to fear not them that can kill the body only, but to fear Him who after the body is killed, can cast into hell. Jesus promises those who are faithful unto death, the crown of life. So if we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him in His kingdom.
