GiGi Gbu but you need to read a bit in Rev.11:15...The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our lord and his Christ....And he shall reign for ever and ever....The kingdoms of this world is implying right here on this earth...Which is beautiful for situation as DAVID said...Nothin more beautiful then Christ in us sinners right here on this earth.

...... Psalms 48:2 beautiful for situation the joy of this whole earth...And as Jesus said the Kingdom is gonna be with in you...Abide in me and in you ...GBU G....He is gonna reign for ever and ever right here on this earth...seed time and harvest forever...

The reason King David was saying Beautiful for SITUATION the joy of this WHOLE EARTH...Is mount Zion the city of the great king ( the kingdom of God is gonna be SITUATED with in us) in Psalms 48:3...Thats y it is so beautiful simply b/c its gonna be with in us SINNERS to lead us into all truth...Which answers to our new heart and new spirit that is our new innerman Christ in us

.....That great King is Jesus that is gona be born in us...An external Kingdom wd be no threat to satan but an internal Kingdom wd destroy satans Kingdom which is our carnal minds...Satans seat...Thats y Jesus mentions kingdom against Kingdom....The wheat against the Tares which is satans seed...The great war...That Great tribulation....The most Beautiful place for humanity is in Christ and Christ in us sinners...And thats y he died that he might reconcile all men back to God and not only that but give us this ministry of reconcilation...Regeneration the multiplication of his seed etc...Remember Paul writes to some saying you are come into mount Zion the city of the living God to that Heavenly Jerusalem...Hebrews

12 :22....But they were still on this earth simply b/c Paul writting to them in Hebrews 12...Or whosever wrote Hebrews...

......Remember Jesus had said the Kingdom wd be with in you...And thats y David said beautiful for SITUATION the joy of this whole earth...The Kingdom the H.G. is gonna be with in us...Thus the Kingdom is gona be right here on this earth....k Gbu

Alex1939...Why did Jesus have to shed his blood on Calvary ?..There are 2 facets to the Cross...1st was the blood of the lamb..Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world...But there is a 2 nd facet which is multiplication of his seed ..Smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered then i will turn my hand to the lil ones,..The babes and sucklings..A lil one is gonna become a 1000 and a small one a strong nation...An Israel of God...Spirits the H.G. PLURAL That was the great Promise i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven...Thus the Messiah wd have to be a bridegroom always ready to sow his incorruptible seed in humanity as the field is the world,...John the Bap. said he that has the bride ( humanity ) is the bridegroom...God so loved the world...The Greeks wanted to see Jesus...And Jesus told them unless a seed falls in the ground it abides alone...But if it dies it will bring forth much fruit..Thus many Christ that was the promise I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven...Thus all men will see Jesus not just the Greeks...Not only will we see Jesus but we will see his seed the H.G. the Children of PROMISE...Thats what Jacob told Joseph...I had not thought to see thy face but lo God has showed me also your seed...Manasseh and Ephraim....Thats y Jesus said that which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the H.G. the Children of Promise the Gift of God...The Elect is the H.G. that will show judgement to Jews and Gentiles alike...Flesh and blood are not the Children, its only the Children of Promise the H.G. that are the real Children of God...Which is our new hearts and new spirits...We are just a joint heir with the H.G...That Christ in you via his seed the words of the book...Read Romans 9:8 kjv...Not all israel is Israel thus there is gonna be an Israel of God via the seed of Jesus..That New Covenant in his blood.. Psalms 48:6 Great fear fell on them there as a woman in birth pains..And they shall be afraid pangs n sorrows.

    Hi Richard,

Do you have any notes compiled about the period Israel breaks the covenant, regarding David's throne? I happens at the day of the Lord, Joel 2:1-11, and ends with Christ claiming the throne. The underlying issue is did God suspend a binding arrangement, or was it unconditional that David would never lack a man on his throne, 1 kings 9:5, Jeremiah 33:17. Does the man of sin have dominion over David's throne?

Didn't you mentioned this a few days ago? Could you do a breakdown of it? I found verses like Isaiah 24:15, Isaiah 13:11 compelling, any insight? Thanks.

Psalm 48. In this Psalm there is a clear Millennial period prophecy. The mount Zion on the "sides of the north" (v. 2) seems to indicate from the context of the rest of the prophecy when the heavenly city is indeed visible throughout the earth as shown in Revelation 20.

Verses 4 through 6 seem to show the state of the rulers of the earth during the "birth pangs" phase of the Tribulation ( Matthew 24; Mark 13). This could also relate to the sixth seal when apparently the world will be afraid of God and Christ who sits at His right hand ( Rev. 6:15-17) but could also refer to those who perhaps survive past Armageddon as well ( Isaiah 24:22) which is indicative of punishment sometime between then and the Great White Throne Judgment.

Verse 7 could indicate the nations that came from Spain or perhaps those from Great Britain and it's allies involved in some of the battles listed in Daniel. That could have a last days implication as well; I'll leave that up to others to speculate.

Verses 8-13 show the realization of what was known but until then not seen. (verse 8). Once again; the eternal aspect of this city; the fact that it is known throughout the earth (verse 10) and the fact that judgments were rendered (verse 11) bolster this Millennial viewpoint. Finally verse 12 and 13 describe a very real city and defenses that will be observed at that time. The last verse establishes God's "guide even unto death" which is reminiscent of Psalm 23.

Hello, you might check the other page listing the common questions and answers as I know that's a common topic. My question would be: why would a Christ follower NOT want to obey Christ? While I can't go so far as to say someone will not be saved if they don't, the nature of the question itself makes me wonder if someone is trying to "get out of" something for personal reasons, rather than the focus being on how someone can follow and obey Christ to the fullest. How will God judge someone who is luke warm and not wanting to completely follow Him? God bless.

    Matthew 24,

North, South East & West, examples: Ezekiel 37:9, Revelation 7:1, Job 37:9,

    East Wind; Genesis 41:6,23,27, Exodus 10:13, Exodus 14:21, Psalms 48:7, Isaiah 27:8, Jeremiah 18:17, Ezekiel 17:10, Ezekiel 19:12, Hosea 13:15,

    West Wind; Exodus 10:19,

    North Wind; Proverbs 25:23,

South Wind, Job 37:17, Luke 12:55, Acts 27:13,

    Psalms 78:26, Ecclesiastes 1:6, Jeremiah 10:13, Jeremiah 51:16, Amos 4:13,

Interestingly in Michigan the Northern winds blow, it feels like bitter coldness inside, freezing your nose inside like icicles, even through your clothing layers. In Southern California when the " Santa Ana winds" dry & hot, dusty, both very district & unpleasant. The winds that blow East from the Pacific Ocean even summertime bring cool, unpleasant chills as early evening approaches. Etc. (In some personal observation of distinct winds.)

So knowing what the gender of nouns (that in English are of neutral gender) are in Hebrew and Greek explains why they are often presented as women or men. This happens in many other languages like say German, neutral gender nouns are not always neutral but may be masculine or feminine. Every language has its own peculiarities.(by the way "language, tongue"is "her" in Greek)
  • Giannis - In Reply on Psalms 48 - 2 years ago
Also nouns in greek like wisdom, Jerusalem, city, church, synagogue, Zion, faith, sin, hell, lake (of fire), sea, flood, fasting, prayer, sacrifice, day, night, hour and many other in the Scriptures are of feminine gender, they are "she".

Also nouns Heaven, Paradise, river, altar, Hades, angel, demon, crowd, people etc are masculine.
  • Doug - In Reply on Psalms 48 - 2 years ago
This is more common than we might realize. Could be used of things that produce offspring (seed). Here are a few more examples of how the female gender is used. Galatians 4:26 "But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all". 2 John 1:1 "The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth"; Revelation 12 also. I really appreciate the figures of speech in the Bible. It can really stimulate the mind.
  • Giannis - In Reply on Psalms 48 - 2 years ago
The "her" in verse 3 is referring to the city Zion, not God.
  • Giannis - In Reply on Psalms 48 - 2 years ago
Dear Allen, all those nouns in Hebrew are of feminine gender, that's why they are "she, her"..
  • Streetpreacher - In Reply on Psalms 48 - 2 years ago
Sometimes heaven or wisdom is called 'her''.

Maybe Chris can give more insight to this?

1 (A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah.)

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the CITY OF OUR GOD, in the mountain of his holiness.

2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is MOUNT ZION on the sides of the north, the city of the GREAT KING.

"Her" is speaking of a place: Heaven. It's similar to Wisdom described as female too. It's just how the writer described it. THE WHOLE BIBLE is inspired by the Lord.

God is Spirit. Jesus is fully God and fully Human.

Earth was created for Humans. That's why Jesus was born as a human. He came to save us from the loss of Dominion in the Garden of Eden; stolen by Satan.

The Day Jesus was anointed of God, Isaiah 61:1-3, the whole earth was in awe.

    Luke 4:18; Psalm 147:2-3

What does"her" mean in this verse 3 of Psalms 48, is it eluding to God having a feminine side? Or as a mothering side as a refuge or place to go?

    Dgjot,

I'm responding to your reply without reading any of the responses, so my thoughts will stay focused. Just incase there's repeating._..

Being you're still alive, it's not final judgement: Matthew 4:17, Acts 17:30, 2Peter 3:9, in context read whole chapter. Psalms 48:14, Proverbs 10:12, Proverbs 13:14, Ezekiel 33:11, Ezekiel 18:32,

it could be warning from GOD: Psalms 118:18,

or attack not from GOD,: Ephesians 6:12,

    Psalms 90,

    Jeremiah 18:8,

    Psalms 37,

You are angry because of injustice it seems: Exodus 21, Exodus 22, Leviticus 20, Numbers 35, Proverbs 8:36, Genesis 18:19, Proverbs 21:3,

    Psalms 73, Jeremiah 27:7-18, Isaiah 58, Isaiah 59, Matthew 25:31-46, James 2,

    Ephesians 6:10-18, Ephesian 4:26, Psalms 82:3, Ecclesiastes 5:8,

    Hopefully these are helpful

A clear millennial psalm. We see here the city of Zion; in which the kings of the earth fear, (v. 4-5). Verse 6 shows a travailing similar to birth pangs in Matthew. The Heavenly city on the "sides of the north" could be describing it hanging over the earth; and/or indicate its eventual landing as it were on earth during the restoration forming the new heavens and earth.

Verse 13 about the "generation following" seems to show natural descendants as other millenial verses indicate as well. Death will be for mainly rebels during the millennium; but he is our guide in all dispensations or time frames until death is conquered with the new heaven and earth ( 1 Cor. 15:55).

It is interesting to see that some of the sons of Korah remained obedient after the rebellion earlier ( Numbers 16).

He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

    Psalms 139:16

Comment: God lives outside and inside of the confines of time. He sees each human from beginning to end.

He says, "ALL souls belong to Me." If a baby dies, it's soul immediately returns to God. And lives eternally. No one teaches the Bible in Public Schools. Neither is forgiveness of sins. I'm ashamed of what they HAVE to teach. It's a soul-less education. Kids can choose anything EXCEPT to follow the teachings of the Bible. Their consciences are being burned alive. They're one source of hope was written out of their books. Did anyone at home read the Bible to them?

JESUS IS COMING BACK SOONER THAN YOU THINK. He's not going to allow these children to perish in darkness of social Night. All they have to say is: JESUS TAKE ME WITH YOU, INTO YOUR KINGDOM. Kids: tell your little brothers and sisters too.

Let us rejoice in the characteristics, and attributes of our Lord God Almighty. He is eternal, no beginning, no end. His Praise and glory reaches from the heavens to the ends of the earth to the depths of the oceans. He is greatly to be praised, and magnified. God is declared throughout the world and all of nature. He is known for His loving attributes, and holiness that surround Him. Although all grace and power are in His arms; his touch is never-the-tender, righteous, and comforting. His wisdom is all encompassing, but is easily entreated and soothing to the mind of men, especially to the saved and to the tender, humble, and faithful in spirit. Your loving kindness is a beacon to us to be bold, yet humble before your throne of grace. Thank you Lord for your Greatness and Tender Mercies. Bless us as we learn to look for your coming, and accomplish your will as you tarry. Bless our president and all those in need of your salvation in order to carry out your will and not our own.

Make us to be bold and forth right to declare the glory of God and the Salvation of the Lord before we go into eternity. Help us to keep the whole counsel of God, the Lord Jesus Christ

A tip about word search FYI;For example: When you type Jerusalem, Psalms 48 will not come up, yet, Ps.48 is about Jerusalem because it is "Zion" that is written, and Zion is Jerusalem. So a word search will not always give you all scripture that contains what you may be searching for.
A word search is not completely reliable. Some verse has sin named, but the word"sin"may not be in the verse.
