Why would you desire to be under bondage to the curse of the law when Jesus Christ has redeemed us from said curse? (Galatians chapter 3).
  • Brother dan - In Reply on Psalms 72 - 4 years ago
Hi Adam, In those circumstances that you just outlined...in my opinion, it is not a Sabbath violation. People helping other people on the Sabbath is similar to what Jesus did. If you have to work to feed your family ok. There is 24 hours in a day, hopefully all the people you mentioned can still dedicate some time to still observe the Sabbath and pray and honor God. God will know, and God will make the judgement call. God Bless.
  • Adam - In Reply on Psalms 72 - 4 years ago
If someone's work is helping people (like a pastor, doctor, walmart greeter) and they work on the sabbath do you think that's not a violation, then?
  • Brother dan - In Reply on Psalms 72 - 4 years ago
Hi Adam, Yes Jesus did observe the Sabbath, and he taught us that there are logical exceptions, and good works that can be performed on this day. But these exceptions should not be an excuse to disregard the Sabbath, make the Sabbath another day, or minimize it within the list of 10 commandments.

There are exceptions of many things that can be performed on the Sabbath as demonstrated and taught by Jesus. These are sensible things, are circumstances like helping others, and addressing things that are emergencies or require immediate help. Feeding animals, or milking cows, helping others that need immediate attention and failure to do so would be neglect.

So yes it is true, we are taught by Jesus in many instances not to neglect anything requiring our help on the Sabbath, but at the same time he didn't cancel the importance of following the the 4th commandment, and keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. God Bless.

    Dear Dan,

I'm replying to your comment on the sabbath. While I agree that it would seem strange to follow only 9 of the 10 commandments, Jesus did treat the commandment about the sabbath differently than the others and there is scripture evidence that suggests the sabbath is not equal to the other commandments.

The reason is Jesus was accused of breaking the sabbath himself! If he were alive today and you saw Jesus heal someone or do some 'work', would you accuse and judge Him of it? That's what the Pharisees did and Jesus rebuked them. So, Jesus made a clear point that it's ok to do good work on the sabbath. Mark 2:27. There are also interesting verses like Colossians 2:16-17 and Romans 14:5. This shows the original reason Israelites needed to observe the Sabbath: Deuteronomy 5:15.

So, did Jesus fulfill the sabbath or did he not?
  • Brother dan on Psalms 72 - 4 years ago
Not sure why so many people seem to be confused about the sabbath day, it is Saturday, the seventh day of the week, and is a day of rest, no work, and a day to reflect on God, pray, and give thanks. God gave this sabbath day to man, it is for us to rest and give thanks and regenerate our body and sprit and to draw closer to God.

Lastly, it is the the 4th commandment that God gave to us. I value and honor all 10 of God's commandments. It is the law! Jesus while on earth honored the sabbath day. It is Gods Law....and Jesus said in Matthew 5:17

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

Let's put it in another way, are you willing to keep 9 of the commandments, and ignore one - the Sabbath? I'm not.

This can only be received by faith, this confession of faith is the confession of faith of God's True Church today, though it is recorded, it is not a book with aging papers, it is in the hearts of born again believers that answered the call: "Come".

My confession of faith on Repentance is the same as written here:

"We believe in a true conversion, justification and new birth. In a true conversion there is sincere sorrow for sin and transgression, and condemnation thereof. The justification is obtained through conversion when believing upon the wrought- righteousness of Christ, becoming liberated from the debt of sin and judgement, whereby we are "born again" and renewed unto the image and nature of God through the renewing of the Holy Ghost."

    Luke 24:27 ; John 1:28 ; John 3:3 ; Acts 20:28 ; Romans 1:27 ; Romans 5:1 ; Galatians 3:26

We are back to a spiritual birth in the back of a truck at a produce dock in San Francisco, CA. where a new man drove that truck away completely covered by the blood of Christ and in complete peace from the Holy Ghost just like many, many souls that were persecuted by the Roman Church for the same faith.

You spoke of a natural birth and worldly wisdom, but we do not speak of a natural birth but a spiritual birth and the day the believers started their journey of Repentance. There is a 'natural' body and a 'spiritual' body ( 1 Cor. 15:44). The Word of God is spiritually discerned, which the natural man (like yourself) is unable to understand ( 1 Cor. 2:14).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

If you can remember the amount of time the apostle Paul spent by himself, After his revelation and conversion. He was in the desert 14 years! 14 years man, he conferred with no one. Also enough time for people to forget who he was. Just when you think you may think you have it all together, remember the time Paul spent in repentance and separation from those he persecuted! This man who had a "HEAD" knowledge, and yet he learned obedience unto Christ!

The kingdom is ever before us! I pray I could see Him as he is in this flesh! The same way the angels proclaim to the disciples, "the way you have seen Him leave, is the way you will see him return!" The glory that you speak is all around us in him! Stephen saw him! Even while he was dying! God be with you always!

    Luke 11:13

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Comment: if we need help understanding scripture, their is no limit on asking the Holy Spirit to teach you what something means.

By all means, be reverent (honor Him).

If you study a lot; over time your relationship with the Holy Spirit will be free flowing, enjoyable, desirable. It will make your heart ache with love for Him.

He is part of the Godhead that created everything! And He wants to sit with You! And teach you what scripture means. Write it down. Don't allow the cares of life take away His words to you.

Jesus went to the Cross to bring salvation to us. He also gave us the Holy Spirit: who is the Spirit of Christ. Jesus.

Jesus is the HEAD of the Body of Christ. We are members of His Body. Which part are you? I used to listen to others guess the parts amongst us. Funny talk. One day a friend looked at me and said, you're a forefinger. That hurt me. That was 30 years ago. Be who God made you to be. You are unique. We are His Body on earth.

    Think about that.

    Hello Fred

His love is present at all times isn't it!? We(even Christians) have become blinded by the world and all of its cobwebs. His love allows the sun to rise, the wind to blow through the trees, the birds and the crickets to sing, the wheat to grow, the rain to fall and a wretch like me to be saved. Feel so blessed to have a Bible along with the ability to read and comprehend!

    Every breath is a gift.

That old song we all know, Amazing Grace, gets me good now!

I enjoy reading your comments Fred. Time well spent and served. You Sir are an example of His presence in our lives.

    God Bless You

I know you said goodbye once T, but this is what I wish we were doing more on this website, sharing how we became Christians and how we are blessed now. There are many angry with me because we can slam each other with Bible references bit the real proof is in our lives. So here online we cannot see each others eyes or smiles, we cannot see each other's mates or children or each other's brethren that they may meet with and so we are limited and easily mis- understand some one. I am very happy that the Lord saved your life and gave you a new life and that you have an experience as a place to go back to if somehow you are challenged in your Christian life for for the furtherance of the Gospel or for one's own sanctification which is still for the furtherance of the Gospel. I am not easily offended because like you I went from darkness to light at the cost of God sending his Son to die on the cross for me. God bless your life and experience as well as the many readers here.

When u say u heard his voice, and he sent you back. Experiencing his love is what I long for. To understand this is more than a feeling, isn't it? The knowledge he shares in wisdom and goodness is not enough for our small minds! Like the disciples we are always looking for a sign.something more conclusive. The love He shares with us in his word, must take hold of our hearts so we can share it with one another. These things are difficult since we are sinners. I wish so much to behold him , like you did. If this was his revelation toward you ,you would be so blessed, and certainly you would be shouting his name above the mountain tops!

With the extreme amount of joy, peace and love that I felt I can only imagine how horrific and tormenting the feeling of Hell would be.

When He told me I had to go back I instantly felt the gravity of the Earth along with the pain and suffering within it. This immediate difference in feeling was such a downer. The torment and suffering of Earth, I'm sure, does not even come close to that of Hell. As you said, no one wants to go there. No escape.

I know where I wish to be when my time comes! My life has been changed and I pray that others find the truth and life of and in Jesus Christ!

God Bless Mishael I always enjoy reading your comments.

Dear Andy, I am happy that you had a revelation from God, and I do hope that from that revelation you actually became willing, yourself, to surrender your all to Jesus Christ. This is the Gospel message of the born again, transformed, regenerated, converted soul in a man or woman. This detail in this modern age with online websites such as this one, allows for your personal testimony to be published here for the benefit of your readers, so that we by the Holy Spirit in us can prove with you your revelation sent from God.

    To CARLETON

There are several items on the 'Current Events' page of our website on the California Wildfires, that will help explain why people's prayers are not heard, that you will find most interesting.

The 'Current Events' page is a compilation of thoughts and discussions on todays current events and how our website helps to explain and examine them and put them in a 'spiritual' context.

I believe you. I saw Him too. I was reading an astrological map I had made, to a Methodist at that moment. It happened on Yom Kippur. I saw Jesus and then a vision of hell opened in my kitchen floor. It looked real.

No one wants to go there. It's foul, terrifying.

I think I know how Paul felt when he got up off the ground.
  • T - In Reply on Psalms 72 - 4 years ago
While some will come to offer Biblical reference I will offer you a personal experience.

I "died" after a horrific motorcycle accident while in the hospital. (Since I am alive now one could argue that I did not actually "die" and therefore it was a NDE but I will leave that debate alone.)

When my soul left my body I was pulled straight to The Light. (First I went through what I can only describe as Space at a million miles a second.) I did not see or witness any angels or "beings" taking or guiding me. As I approached the light His voice stopped me. I was given an instruction and was allowed to respond. He then appeared(I was allowed to see Him but not His face) said five words and sent me back.

Maybe this helped, maybe not. Since I did not "permanently die" maybe my experience differs from the specific nature of your question.

That event helped me though. It saved my soul!

If anyone sees this and has any doubts within themselves..Jesus Christ IS real and the love I felt in that "moment" will never be forgotten and is uncomprehendable. There is nothing on Earth that compares to the power and love within His presence.

I would also like to add that this occured when I was the biggest sinner I have ever been in my life. If you(anyone reading) believe you aren't good enough for Jesus, you are and he loves you more than you can understand!
