Only God can command the Angels - In Reply on Psalms 91 - 2 years ago
Matthew 18:10
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones (child); for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 4:6
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Hebrews 13:2
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Luke Chapter 4
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Only God the Father commands the angels.
Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer as a model to pray to our Father who art in Heaven. We form our prayers around the one Jesus gave to us. Personalize your requests.
Dear Richard. The word angel originates. from the ancient Greek "angelos" which means "messenger". That is why the Scriptures always identify them as angels of the Lord, that is messengers of the Lord, it could have been angels of the king or of any other person. Now in the church God's messenger is usually the pastor who delivers God's word to the members of the church
I would say a better response is that they are to respond as directed by God as messengers-that is why there is a sort of dual meaning to the "angel" of each church in Revelation 3 for instance. This could refer to the pastor/elder human authority; but also the angel presiding over that congregation. There probably are different roles for those angels remaining true to God just like with the fallen "principalities and powers" mentioned in Ephesians 6. Some are in charge of large regions; others for specific localities and others over the affairs of individuals. There are promises such as Psalm 91 and others where angels are said to be our "front and rear guard". With Christ when He was driven into the wilderness; and during His later trials had angels strengthen Him. They were always; of course following the lead of the Holy Spirit; hence they could NOT stand in the way of his ultimate trial from being completed; i.e. His death on the cross. As "ministering spirits" they surely strengthen us; and when necessary protect us. Daniel makes it clear that they are involved in invisible battles and well aware of prayers of saints (which often need to be persistant so that victory can be won as was the case with the 21 day delay fighting the Prince of Persia). Fasting also; no doubt plays a part as well in securing these victories. This should give us assurance because no one can harm us unless God allows it and in His timing. There is no doubt the enemy would find people to destroy us before the time if He were able. As long as we are walking in the Spirit; the enemy has no power over us.
In saying all this; it is not a healthy concept to envision some personal angel assigned to us. An angel of God never accepts worship; of course and wouldn't want any undue attention. He wouldn't thus hang around to "play favorites". In the heavenly realm angels would come in and go out of this dimension quickly and when needed.
Lord God, Creator, Giver of life, we lift all 9 of these women to You asking You to miraculously heal them and deliver each one of Your precious daughters from strongholds and addictions.(And sons and daughters everywhere)
I pray salvation for each of them if they aren't believers. Show up and woo them with Your Holy Spirit, love, and power! You are so merciful. Your love is irresistible. Pour it out on them that they would hunger and thirst after You as the deer panteth oer' the water brook.binding every addiction demon in Jesus mighty name. Set them free to love and serve You Father! Restore them to health and freedom. Amen.
Bless all my love ones that is under my roof those that living abroad and overseas bless them and keep them safe from all danger and diseases and sickness give them health and prosperity God blesd
I've had several close to death experiences. The 1st I recall clearly was about 5 or 6 yrs old. I was being held by gentle being, clothed in white & no pain, back to unbearable pain & suffering. I heard myself speak as an adult outside of the situation. That may have been the closest I've ever been to Heaven itself, the place. 2nd time I was electrically shocked while in water, I saw a black hand cover the sky, enormous, I could only see light through the bend of two fingers & only a portion, it was so huge. 3rd & 4th time I was young adult, it was all black around, I could feel darkness & closeness to judgement. I begged for another chance. 5th time I could hear & see the EMTs I had a different view. I was at peace not struggling, no pain. Then as they put the heart zapper thing on 3rd time I think it was. I felt difficult pain again, coldness, struggle. Luke 23:43, Luke 16:15-31, Luke 20:35-38, Psalms 91:11, Matthew 4:11, Matthew 13:39,41,49, Luke 4:10, 2Thessalonians 1:6-12, 1Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 1, Psalms 97:2, * Hebrews 2:14,15, Genesis 5:24, 2Kings 2, Matthew 17:1-5, if GOD has allowed Ezekiel, John & others in the Scriptures to see Heaven then I cannot argue they did or not. * Acts 7:55, Jeremiah 52, Revelation 7, Isaiah 6:1, Ezekiel 1, Ezekiel 10,
Matthew 24:3-51, Matthew 25:31-46, we will all give account so may our Words be faithful.
Stay strong Sharon . God is always with you . Sometimes we can get so bogged down in the trials and tribulations of this life that we feel disconnected from Him , but we never are . He is always with us , just a thought away . Sometimes I recognise that this world has been laying heavy on my shoulders and that's when I intensify my efforts to remember my Heavenly Father . I read my Bible a bit more than usual , pray a bit more often , even if it's just to say thankyou to Him . If you reach out to Him , He will take you by the hand and lead you straight through the storm around you . Don't doubt His love Sharon , He won't leave you .
Well said. He is our Father and also, in Jesus, our Lord, Savior, and also in the Holy Spirit, our Helper, Sanctifier, Comforter. If we are to know the names of our God from the Scriptures than we can address Him by these names according to our circumstances. In Exodus God told Moses that His name was I AM WHO I AM (YHWH) and that Abraham called Him Almighty God (El Shaddai). In both the Old Testament and New, He was called "God Most High". (Far above all other creatures) speaking of God's transcendent nature. I suggest that it is good to study these names to understand more about our God and to call to Him inprayer by these names.
The right thing is to pray (and ask things for) to Father God in the name of Jesus Christ.
As far as names of God are concerned you must know that every name God has has the purpose to show us a God's characteristic
So Sabaoth means Lord of Armies or powers that is the Powerful God, Eloheim means God . Adonai means Lord. Jehovah or Jahve probably means the existing God and so on . God used his names to reveal Himself to people especially in the Old Testament. Thus God's names have a discriptional purpose, they have nothing magic which when you say the Heavens open to you
The name of God in New Testament is Father, because we are reborn by God who becomes not only our God but our Father as well. God is not father to all people no matter who they are or what they believe but He is Father to reborn christians. And that is done by the Spirit of God . John 3:1-8
Pray to "God" there is only 1 God, and he knows who he is!
Ephesians 4:6
"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray he responded:
Luke 11:2
"And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth."
Jesus asks us to pray to the God the Father, in His Jesus name:
John 16:23
"And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you."
I am always troubled when in prayer my reason is the Bible says the most high God has a name and he will answer those who praise in his name and I am not sure which is the right one there are so many can I get an answer?
My comment is that psalm 91 works. t have been speaking it over me and my sister barbara for years. also over others. over leadership, over israel and jerusalem and every jewish person. it works, u know. try it it is guaranteed

Psalm 91 is my favorite scripture!
I also agree, it works. There is Power in The Word.
