Possibly because it would be a moment of extreme weakness. Matthew 4:2, Luke 4:2, Hebrews 4:15,

    John 10:10,

This was also a moment of Prophetic fulfillment. Luke 4:4, Deuteronomy 8:3, John 6:58,

    Deuteronomy 6:16, Matthew 4:7, Luke 4:12, Luke 4:10-11, Psalms 91:12, Matthew 4:6,

    Exodus 34:28,

    Matthew 4:1-11, Luke 4:1-21, 22-44,

    Hopefully that helps

I have been reading for quite awhile. I use this to " jumpstart" my day & study( currently Psalms & Gospels). I have learned a lot from many who post but especially Mishael . He helps many with help in comprehension, or if want further exploration. We are all in various stages here so I thank him for this gift Jesus has given him that he shares but more importantly , I thank Jesus for bestowing the gift ! Psalms is one of my favorite as well as Proverbs in the old testament . I appreciate the many resources available.

Psalms 91 is certainly a great Psalm regarding Jehovah God's protection. The King James presents it the best. First of all, it describes the place of Divine protection, "The secret place". This is referring to a special relationship with Jehovah God. In Psalms 31:20 we see where that 'secret place' is, "You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man: You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues." It is when we dwell continuously in God's presence that we obtain that special protection.

Cyrus First thing is that no one could be a christian before pentecost in the bible that's when the faith of Jesus Christ became available, they could believe God and walk in that believing faith but no one Had Christ in them being born again until pentecost. In Rome that's how bad the persecution Got and in our day and time in certain parts of the World its Intense. It it indeed Ephesians 6:12. Thank God we have the Hope of the Return to look forward to. There are great examples in the word of men believing God that's available to rise up to. Hebrews chapter 11 believers Hall of Fame.

We are the body of Christ but we are all at different levels of our believing walk, some big and some small only God knows. Do the best you can and God will do the Rest.

I think the Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710 sums it up for you better than I can:

9-16 Whatever happens, nothing shall hurt the believer; though trouble and affliction befall, it shall come, not for his hurt, but for good, though for the present it be not joyous but grievous. (Meaning, even if it hurts for the time being, God is still working out everything for our good.) Those who rightly know God, will set their love upon him. They by prayer constantly call upon him. His promise is, that he will in due time deliver the believer out of trouble, and in the mean time be with him in trouble. The Lord will manage all his worldly concerns, and preserve his life on earth, so long as it shall be good for him. (Persecution isn't the most ideal way to live) For encouragement in this he looks unto Jesus. He shall live long enough; till he has done the work he was sent into this world for, and is ready for heaven. Who would wish to live a day longer than God has some work to do, either by him or upon him? A man may die young, yet be satisfied with living. (If a man completes what God has him do on Earth, Heaven is a reward versus continuing to live in persecution and suffering.) But a wicked man is not satisfied even with long life. At length the believer's conflict ends; he has done for ever with trouble, sin, and temptation. (In death, a Christian no longer has to deal with pain, suffering, sin and temptation.)

I read psalm 91 and i feel confused. It says those who make the Lord Most High their habitation that no evil shall befall them and also that they will tread and trample upon the lion and adder. How is it then that the christians who made the Lord Most High their habitation get attacked and eaten by lions in the colliseum in rome ? Also around the world people get persecuted and killed for their faith in God. I feel confused because it seems to say in this psalm that if we make God our habitation He will protect us.

    Re: GiGi

I will add you and your request to my prayer list. May the Lord bring your sons back into His grace and mercies. God bless your aching heart and give you comfort in His name.

The LORD shine His face upon you and your family and be gracious unto you. The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. The LORD bless you and keep you. Numbers 6: 24-26

I will say of the LORD, You are my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will I trust. Psalms 91:2

May you rest comfortably in the arms of the LORD this evening and days to come.

Most people are difficult at some point especially when sharing the gospel. Just do what you do unto the Lord. Jesus said to turn the cheek but that does not mean go back for more mistreatment. Just remember we are living in a very wicked time. II Timothy 3 it doesn't matter what other people think.

    Hey George,

It gets hard sometime, things we do and how we treat other people and the good things we do seem to have no effect. First thing you need to do is look inside yourself, we need to make sure the if lack of gratitude from those we do things for is not what is frustrating us. It's baked in the cake, we as humans, when we do a good job, do something for someone our flesh looks for a reward, we all have those feelings.

We have to constantly remind ourselves, "do not let the left hand know what thy right hand doeth" ( Matthew 6:1-4).

If these are people you are around a lot and they are taking advantage of you, have a loving discussion and let them know how you feel, and say a little prayer maybe for you and them. If these are people you do not know and they take your goodness or if you share the gospel and they are rude or reject what you try to share, turn and walk away and be thankful and ask the Lord for strength and guidance.

We must remind ourselves, the good we do or if we share the gospel and they reject it, the testimony is against them. Hey, there are many none caring, selfish people in this world, out for number one, and sometimes it is hard to be a light in a world of darkness.

This is what I feel, but may someone else have a better response that may help, but do not ever stop doing good. It is like a food you hate, taste like yuck be is good for the body, so hold your nose and kill em with kindness.

Yes, I have a comment as to whether the scholars took the The Book of Enoch out of the Bible Scriptures and Why??? As an Aborigine Person; I am being told that Scriptures that pertain to US were taken out of the Bible by Scholars who were afraid of Us getting the Truth of the Bible!!!

What are they afraid of that we will find out??? Are they not afraid that The Almighty will harshly judge whomever did this???
