    What does revaluation 11 11 mean in the bible
  • Charity on Revelation 11 - 10 years ago
    I 've always been confused on the two witnesses. I was always taught that it 's two men who haven 't died yet, however in the first chapter of Revelation, it specifically says what candlesticks are. Has the meaning changed once we get to chapter 11? Revelation 1 20 states "and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. " And as we know, there 's issues with most of them. So wouldn 't this mean that the two candlesticks are two churches and the two olive trees is obviously Israel? Also, doesn 't sackcloth represent persecution?

    I have just realised, the beast doesn 't come out of the womb of a woman, as in, he isn 't a normal person. The antichrist, the beast, the son of perdition came from the bottomless pit. Also look at Revelation 17 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. To conclude, I don 't think that the beast is just a normal person. I mean, look at other things that come out of the bottomless pit Revelation 9 2 3 2 And he opened the bottomless pit and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. The beast is something else. I hope that helps someone.

    Gilbert C O Daminagbo s Revelation 11 18 and should destroy those who destry the earth The earth here refers to human beings who destroy their bodies and the Demons that also contributed to this for we are the temple of God and anyone who destroy his or her body God will destroy I don t know how you come to this conclusion because the word body is used many times in the bible so if it was meant to say body and not earth it would As in Daniel Daniel 7 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horne spake I beheld euen till the beast was slaine and his body destroyed and giuen to the burning flame Why would it be talking about earthquakes and so on if it doesn t relate to the earth

    Revelation 11 5 And if any man will hurt them fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their enemies and if any man will hurt them he must in this manner be killed the fire proceeds from the mouths of them who wish to hurt the two witnesses and not from the two prophets mouths in this they of the abyss burn themselves and die note the Antichrist kills them in the streets however he will be burned latter when Jesus comes

  • GILBERT C O DAMINAGBO on Revelation 11:18 - 10 years ago
    REVELATION 11:18 ....and should destroy those who destroy the earth. THIS VERSE CAN BE USED LEXICALLY AND CONNOTATIVELY i.e THE PHYSICAL EARTH BEING DESTROYED AND THE HUMAN BODY OR TEMPLE BEING USED TO COMMIT SIN.ANYONE THAT DESTROYS HIS BODY BY USING IT TO COMMIT SIN WILL BE DESTROYED INCLUDING GIVING IT TO THE DEVIL AND ALLOWING IT TO BE INHABITED BY DEMONS.
  • BSP on Revelation 11:18 - 10 years ago
    This scripture shows that God takes how the earth is treated personally. He says that he will destroy those who destroy the earth. We should take this warning seriously and treat the earth with respect.

    (This is my response to John Juai's comment dated 8/13/2013 at 10:38pm on Ephesians Chapter 2 about verse 6):

    On the day of judgement which is the time of the dead when they should be judged, GOD shall give reward unto King David being one of HIS servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear God's name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth ( Revelation 11:18).

    i feel the two witnesses are Elijah and Moses.
    check malachi chapter 4.Also, in the transfiguration, Christ met with Moses and Elijah. Finally, the discription of the two witnesses in verses 5-6 are supportive of this fact. Let us always pray to God for the Holy Spirit to interprete God's word to us.

    The world is easily swayed by only what is seen..
    Look carefully and you will find that only the gospel of Matthew and John is really valid. These are the two olive trees because they bear the fruit of the Word.
    The other two are 'candlesticks' that actually 'burn out' and are false.These gospels are not of the appointed and handpicked apostles.
    Nobody is really seen to challenge the 'church', yet we have to wonder what their great secrets are.The truths are revealed to the nameless, but only great theologians determine what m***es may see. It is true ..many weeds are found in the fields also, even in what the largest part of the world is told is 'the truth'.
    God is very smart, and the scriptures do tell all, even of its desecration.
  • Paul Daniel Killingbeck 1140 on Revelation 11:3 - 11 years ago
    many would pray that they are one of the witnesses, but the task of the two is so extreme that the severity of their coming duty will include great persecution. They are trained by the Holy Spirit for this task. Be a witness, is what one should do. To be one of his "My Two Witnesses" is not a call we could make on our own.

    According to the following texts: Gen 8:1 and 1 Thess. 4:16-17, there is no way man can, or certainly will not be permitted to destroy the earth completely. The seasons will continue, and people will be alive on the earth when Jesus touches down for His Second Coming. This does not however stop mankind form trying (through greed, malicious or destructive acts) and they will certainly pay for their reckless behavior. And behold I come quickly and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be - Rev 22:12.

    This is talking about the last trumpet which is NOT THE SEVENTH TRUMPET OF REVELATION 11:15. BUT THE LAST TRUMPET OF 1 THESSALONIANS 4:16, THIS IS THE RAPTURE THE BIBLE TEACHES, A PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE, NOT POST OR MID OR PRE WRATH RAPTURE AT ALL, PRE TRIB RAPTURE ONLY.

    To Clear everyone’s confusion, The anti-Christ is the United States of America. And I am in America. The two candle Stick is in Africa for now. To let you know, everyone that resides in the United States has Already received the mark of the beast. If I tell you the truth would you believe me? No. Know it that you cannot fight GOD. The Angels of Revelations 10 and 11 came down from heaven about three years ago. Our LORD Jesus Christ came down to give me power, knowledge and wisdom Around September 2011. Two other Angels came down on Sunday 20th October 2012 a week before super storm (hurricane sandy). I have been in and out of prison. I don’t want to continue for now. Remember days of "Noah, and Lot." The Catholic is not the Antichrist. I am a Catholic and the Two Candle stick is Catholic.

    Verses 26-37 are describing how things will be likened before the second advent (return) of Christ and using the days of Noah ( Genesis 6-9), and the days of Lot ( Genesis 18 and 19) as ensamples.
    a. Verses 34-37 are describing a post tribulation rapture ( Revelation 11:11, 12) to take place after the abomination of desolation (anti-Christ) breaks the peace treaty with Israel at mid-tribulation ( Daniel 9:27).

    @ doris comment on verse 28-36: 1. these verses is giving the reader a glimpse at the great tribulation period and 2nd advent as we find in mathew 17:1-13. 2. these two witnesses can also be found in revelation 11:3-12. 3. as you read the revelation account of these witnesses you will notice verse 6 will give a detail description of identification of who they are from the old testament account of the miracles they performed. 4. in revelation 11:4 the 2 olive trees represents the miracle of eternal life (olive oil=holy spirit), and the 2 candlesticks represents the true church ( revelation 1:20) that is responsible for giving out the gospel of salvation.
  • Crowe on Revelation 11 - 11 years ago
    I believe that the witnesses are to be two Anointed prophets called by GOD to preach the WORD OF GOD to all nations during the 7 years of tribulation. This will cause havoc with the Beast. The two witnesses will be killed at the Wallen wall for a true testimony for JESUS CHRIST.
  • Jay on Mark 9 - 11 years ago
    @Eliyahu,
    Verse 12 can only refer to 2 prophetic prophets:
    1. Reference to John the Baptist who would have been Elijah as one crying in the wilderness preaching of the coming (kingdom) Messiah Jesus Christ to save his people (Jews). John was arrested by Herod, put in prison and beheaded. Jesus did not resurrect John as he will do with Elijah and Moses in Revelation 11:12, who are the two witnesses preaching the coming kingdom as was John. The Jews rejected Jesus in 1st advent ( John 1:11). John was not resurrected because of the Jews rejection of Jesus and so John did not become in typology Elijah of Revelation 11:1-12;
    2. Elijah and Moses will come before Jesus in the 2nd advent ( Matthew 17:1-13) preaching the everlasting kingdom and be killed (beheaded) and be resurrected ( Revelation 11:1-12).
  • Insight 777 on Revelation 11 - 11 years ago
    After study, this is what I believe is described in the Bible. 2 witnesses = 2 olive trees, 2 lampstands, 2 prophets, 2 martyrs The Greek noun ekklesia (lampstands) literally means "an assembly of called out ones." The book was sealed because Revelation pertains only to World War 3. God wants World War 3 to happen because he anoints the 2 witnesses. The word “beast” is used in different ways in Revelation. The Sea Beast is the South China Sea war battlefront and the Beast is the Middle East war. The 7 heads are the nations with grievances that want the war and the horns are supporting nations in battle like NATO. Collectively, the Beast is WAR which is mortally wounded by PEACE and becomes alive again when the peace treaty is broken. So the 2 witnesses also die when peace occurs because they sign the peace treaty ending strife. The witnesses, unhappy with the terms of peace, again proclaim their cause causing war to erupt again and they are alive once more. People worship the beast because they are willing to sacrifice their money and the lives of their sons and daughters to sustain and win war. Therefore, the 2 witnesses are opposing sides of war, leaders in the 2 battle areas of WW3 that testify or bear witness to their beliefs. They proclaim their rights in numerous political meetings around the world attempting to reach a peaceful solution to their claims of land, resources and religion. They are clothed in sackcloth which is mourning over perceived injustice.

    See pictorial/symbolic use of language (Sodom, Egypt, etc.) in Revelation 11:8. It might help in understanding what "Babylon" signifies? Where was Jesus crucified? Spiritually speaking however, his reference to Sodom in Matthew10:15, is literal as in other places likewise.
  • Jay on Matthew 25 - 11 years ago
    Matthew 25 can be a difficult chapter so we must remember some of the basic rules of interpretation:
    1. Matthew is a book about the king of the Jews ( Matthew 2:2);
    2. Until the cross they are under the law;
    3. Jesus first came to save his people the Jews ( Matthew 1:21);
    4. Much of Matthew is prophetic given to the Jews for the future, knowing that the Jews were going to reject Jesus as their Messiah. The titles of each book are clues to whom that book is directed at, Jewish title or gentile title. In chapter 25, if a person stumbles over the doctrinal intent then, it will be difficult understanding the spiritual intent. I believe that this chapter 25 is mainly given to the Jews in the tribulation age. Trying to place this chapter in the church age will not work and here is why.
    a. Kingdom of heaven is a Jewish term;
    b. Virgins = 144,000 Jews from Revelation 7:4 3;
    c. The church is always without exception referred as singular (never plural);
    d. Oil = holy spirit and it can never be purchased but given when asked for in church age;
    e. The wise virgins trimmed their lamps = good works;
    f. The foolish virgins did not trim their lamps = no works;
    g. In church age we are saved by grace not by works;
    h. The 5 virgins go out to meet the bridegroom (church age saints are caught up to be with him);
    i. I believe there will be a tribulation rapture ( Revelation 11:12) and the 5 wise virgins that took oil, (in church age we receive oil (holy spirit)) go up with Christ in the tribulation rapture ( Revelation 14:12-16) and the 5 foolish virgins that did not trim their lamps go into the millennial age after second advent of Christ.

    When do the two witnesses appear? During the 5th trumpet, or the 6th? Before the Anti-christ comes, or afterwards?
  • Cole on Revelation 11 - 11 years ago
    Never cease to amaze me, when our prejudice is involved we can never see the word of God as we should. It’s always the Catholic church beast false prophets etc; etc; but what we are actually looking at is the false hood wrapped up together whether Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, … we have to look at Babylonian religion, no Jesus’ believers believes in Mohammad. Am I worshipper of God or am I a worshiper of man, false church? This is the Babylonian realm that is going to bring Christ back.
