My Bible says there will only be one kind of people in Heaven, that will be the SAVED, the LOST will be in Hell. There will be people from all Nations there if they are SAVED. The 144,000 Jews will be the ones witnessing during the first 3 1/2yrs. of the tribulation period, when The LORD returns to earth. But remember the JEWS are God's Chosen People.

Rev 21:4 and God shall wipe away etc etc
and Isaiah 43:16-21 (v19) Behold I will do a new thing
Are these 2 books talking about the same thing? eg
When Israel and us will be together in the N/Jerusalem with Jesus being
King of kings and Lord of Lords for 1,000 years?
  • Ron on Revelation 21 - 6 years ago
Hi Linda,. 144,000 is not literal, 12 x 12 is the number for the church or spiritual Israel, Jews and Gentiles, (the "new Jerusalem") the dead know nothing and wait in the grave like Lazarus did, (not heaven) for Christ's return to be "called" (resurrected). I agree God will not torture the unsaved in "hell". The second death (by fire) will consume them within seconds and sin will be gone forever.
  • Linda Morgan on Revelation 21 - 6 years ago
I believe that only 144.000 ( little flock) go to heaven and we will be in a death sleep. Until Jesus shouts " come out " at the time of the new paradise on earth. GOD wanted us all to live in a earthly paradise like Adam and Eve had. He wouldn't send us to heaven then send us back to earth. It's all in the bible.and he would not send people to a burning he'll. They will just die or stay dead.

Brother Roger, we will know each other as we have know one another on earth, however, the "relationship" will be different as Bro. Anthony stated, the relationship in glory will be based as brethren in Christ. Be blessed ... your granny will know that you were her grandson, and will be glad that you made it over as a brethren in Christ. Be Blessed!
  • Stephen B on Revelation 21 - 6 years ago
Roger Austin, you will indeed know your loved ones by name! And you will know all of the saints by name. Peter knew Moses and Elijah. Even the rich man knew Lazarus and 'father Abraham' though at that time there was a 'great gulf fixed' and he could not pass to them.

No ma'm, I was teaching a brother of mine in dealing with his 17 year old daughter. Scripture tells that we will be brothers and sisters. Even here and now my wife is my wife but I am always to see her as my sister in Christ as well for this will be how we see each other within the Kingdom

Verse 8 brings out that the fearful or the cowards will not have a future. It is important that we be courageous.

John saw The New Jerusalem coming down from Heaven, V: 2 and 10. All Nations will walk in The Light, All that are Written in The Book of Life V: 24 and 27
  • Morgan on Revelation 21 - 6 years ago
Revelation very interesting, Is all nations allowed into the kingdom of heaven? well according to Chapter 21:12 only the twelve tribes of Israel is going into heaven. Is this confusion, I don't think so, from the beginning of the bible to the end it talks about on set of people who salvation is for. And these people has been downtrodden until this day, and I am not talking about the Jewish.

Rosa: v:5, Day---Night are capitalized because they are Spiritual. Believers walk in The Light of Day. This Light is still here, you don't see it with your eye, The Lost walk in The Dark of Night. The light we can see started on day 4. / The city had no need of the Sun, neither of the Moon to shine in it: for The Glory of God did Lighten it and The Lamb is The Light thereof. Revelation 21:23

"He that overcomes shall inherit all things and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." When the Lord Jesus began to teach His disciples about the kingdom of heaven He was expounding on the same things as He was preaching in the Synagogues all across the Country. He was the Glad Tidings of Salvation come in the flesh, to give His life a ransom and save us from our sins and to teach us by word and example what we must do in order to be found worthy of really and finally obtaining the benefit. "If ye love me, keep my commandments and I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever even the Spirit of truth.." We who believe in Jesus, love Him and we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, to stay true to Him, and to be a light for others to see Jesus in us. God made us to be His children. Sin has polluted our conscience, marred the image of God in our character, and made us unfit for His presence. Sin brought us death, and works out death in us. The Lord Jesus Christ was manifested to take away our sins and reconcile us to God and has given us His Spirit into our hearts to help us do the work of changing into that man or woman after God's own heart, as He originally intended for us to be.

Jesse, we don't have to wait for that answer Acts 1:25, 26 gives us the biblical account KJV "That he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. v26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. Matthias was chosen by the Holy Ghost. Praise God!

Ernest Foster, when you pray, pray to God the Father, and when you end your pray, say in Jesus' holy name I pray. Amen

We had a speaker to come in for Wednesday night Bible study, who had revelation that the New Jerusalem will be within us:vs 2
  • A disciple on Revelation 21 - 7 years ago
Ernest Foster; the Father isn't jealous if you pray to His Son, but Jesus Himself tells us that the Father Himself loves us, and praying to Him in Jesus' name He hears. The Father is greater than all, and the Son has told us that He Himself is subject to the Father; and that He sits at the right hand of the Father in His throne, interceding for us. Does that help you?
  • A disciple on Revelation 21 - 7 years ago
Ernest; Its pretty easy to find out what the conversion is for furlongs to miles; 12,000 furlongs is 1500 miles. My only question is whether that is all the way around, or on each side "foursquare." A cubit is 18 inches, or, the length between your inner elbow to the end of your middle finger. So the wall being 144 cubits is 216 feet high and the length of each side of the city probably 375 miles.

WILL YOU PLEASE TELL ME////IN FEET OR MILE,S HOW LARGE GOD CITY IS.//// AND MOST OF MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN PRAYING TO JESUS////WHO SHOULD I PRAY TO ? PLEASE TELL ME.//I KNOW JESUS SAYS THE WAY TO THE FATHER IS THOUGH HIM.
  • A disciple on Revelation 21 - 7 years ago
Twelve thousand furlongs is 1500 miles, and the wall 216 feet high. Is that 1500 miles on each side? That would be about from San Diego to Calgary in one direction; and from S.D. to Houston in the other; making a total land area of 2,250,000 square miles. Or is it a total 1500 miles all the way around? Otherwise its 375 miles on each side. Anyone have some thoughts about that?
  • Jesse Bryant on Revelation 21 - 7 years ago
Rev. 21:14 we have to wait for the new heaven and Earth to finally know for sure the answer to one of the great perplexing questions of the last two thousand years... Was the twelfth apostle indeed Paul or Matthias...
