Discuss Romans 10 Page 10

It's simple to get saved, but the process of sanctification is hard. Before I elaborate, I assume you're referring how a sodomite can get saved; "gay" biblically means cheerful, "sodomy/sodomite" means those who practice same sex fornication.

You meet God in his own terms:

1.) You have to be in a broken and contrite state.

Psalms 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."

2.) You call upon Jesus to save you.

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

3.) Put your faith in the Lord. (Take note that the eunuch called upon the Lord, he didn't just believe his way to salvation)

Acts 8:37 "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

If you followed these steps, then you are saved; you will have assurance of your salvation as it'll come through chastening, if you don't have any chastening in your life, then you're not saved.

    Hebrews 12:7

"If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?"

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're still confused, ask Jesus to show you the way to salvation, he'll give you wisdom.

James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

    Hi Chinita.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1.

Faith rest in the word of God. We put our trust in Christ and his faithfulness. It's a fruit he imputes over unto us.

Faith comes by hearing the word, Romans 10:17. And I believe this is with the inner ear, which means hearing and believing and acting on it. It's not a leap in the dark, It is a substance and that substance is what God has to say and his faithfulness to carry his word through.

Stay in Gods word and pray often.

    God bless.
  • FILLING UP OUR HOUSE WITH JESUS - In Reply on Psalms 23 - 3 years ago
This is what happens after we are born again. I will comment on this after you read this.

    Matthew 12

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house (You) from whence I came out; and when he is come, he finds it EMPTY, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and They enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

This is no reflection on you ok? You're a new Christian and sometimes if you don't get into the Bible and find out what's available to you as a Believer, evil spirits will come back and try to make you doubt your Salvation. We have to grow up and fit inside the Armor spoken of in Ephesians 6. That's Your Goal. Your faith has to be fed spiritual food EVERY DAY.

The fact that those spirits are troubling you is Proof of your Salvation. You have Jesus as your savior and he has given you the Holy Spirit as your teacher. Call on the Holy Spirit to help reveal who you are in Jesus Christ. You will learn to be aware when He is speaking to your new Alive Spirit that Jesus turned on full power the day you were Saved.

Make time every day to read the Bible. Sometimes I did it at lunch. This is you furnishing your "house" with Jesus. Either it will look sparse or it will look beautiful furnished with faith.

    Romans 10:17

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

    (Jesus)

If your Bible has a concordance at the back; I would read all the New Testament scriptures under the heading of FAITH. Read, 1 John 2:20. The unction is the Holy Spirit.

Read the entire New Testament before the Old Testament. Learn how Jesus did things and preached. How he taught Faith to his followers_which is what we are :)

    Hello,

    1. Yes I believe in some ways our faith may be considered more complicated because they being with Jesus " physically " John 3:12, John 14:11, yet scripture says : 2 Chronicles 20:20, we have so many accumulated testimonies, prophecy fulfilled, the written WORD of GOD from many generations past in many ways we have all that to help build upon our faith. Then we have personal experiences & witness of miraculous events in our present days & years. I believe it's powerful to see the biblical text, New & Old Tstm & imagine the future with the stacked testimonies & understanding time accumulates more information. When the days of tribulation come the stacked accounts with all scripture will be that much bigger. GOD is amazing. I realized the other day the wealth of faith building information at our reach. I told a young man, "Yes, these days are difficult but we have so much to draw from". & GOD in HIS infinite wisdom gives each generation what they need. Romans 10:17, John 20:29,

    2. Luke 23:43, I guess it applies to today to yes prove "nothing is impossible with GOD" Luke 1:37, & possibly to encourage us that it's not too late to repent, in dying moment.

Next. (?) Interesting observation. Matthew 4:12, Matthew 23:37, GOD gives people many chances to do good. Mark 6:20, Mark 6:19-31, read though, Mark 6:32-46, did Jesus even take time to mourn? It seems HE went to take a moment, yet compassion moved HIM to minister.

    At 1st read I had thought you asked about Peter & Paul comparison of Peter released & Paul was not, also same "(charges) Acts 12:5-17, Acts 21:30-40, - Acts 22, - Acts 23, - Acts 24, - Acts 25, - Acts 26, - Acts 27,-, Acts 28,

My emotion would want to say "all chains are evil" however Mark 5:3-20, Jude 1:6, 2 Peter 2:4,

GOD uses all for good , Psalms 105:17-25, Romans 8:28-30, while Paul was in prison he wrote letters that became an important part of our HOLY Bible today.

    3. James 1:5-8,

    Hope this helps

Hemo If your goal is to be born again via the spirit then Romans 10:9+10 confess the saviour from sine and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and that God raised him from the dead and mean it then line your lifestyle up with Gods Word and let

    the word do the work.

Romans 10:1; Romans 11:25-27 are maybe the verses you're thinking of.

Valerie First to get to renewed mind a person must be born again I.E. confess Romans 10:9+10 and believe and

start changing your thoughts and habits to what Gods word says which is walking by the revealed knowledge of Gods

Word. This is not sense knowledge thinking, sense knowledge thinking is based on sight, sound smell, touch, and taste.

After born again new input holy spirit which requires putting on Gods thoughts on who we are in Christ and

believing that in our day by day habit patterns or conscience thinking with consistence. Romans 12:2 By doing this

we prove by believing in what God has done what is His good acceptable and perfect will. You cannot do this with

sense knowledge thinking 1 Corinthians 2:14 because you cannot know God with experienced knowledge without Him

revealing Himself by the holy spirit. Then our job Ephesians 4:24-32, Ephesians 5 whole Chapter, Phil. 2:1-15 this is

some things of how to think, also the gospels is loaded with principles. Mathew Chapt.5,6,7, also John 14,15,16,17

those of us who were going to believe what shall be. This is litterally the tip of the ice berg.

    Hi Jim,

John 1:1 already said Jesus is God. That's all I need to know. When it says the Word was God, do you think it means the Word was 'not' God? If that is your interpretation, can you please explain how you honestly arrive at that?

I noticed you didn't comment on the more than 20 verses I posted previously. Did you hover over each of them? Each support that Jesus is God. For instance the plural 'we' in Genesis.

So, let's pretend for a moment that the 4 verses you last shared flat out said Jesus isn't God. If that were true we would then have 20 or more verses supporting that He is God, and then your 4 supporting that He isn't. Which do you then choose to believe: the one with more scriptural support, or the one with less?

But your four verses do not say Jesus isn't God, you are just interpreting that way. It also takes some mental gymnastics in my opinion to arrive at that. It must involve ignoring and absolutely disregarding much scripture, like the 20+ verses I shared. There are many more not yet shared which also support Jesus being God. There are so many pieces of evidence throughout the Bible, like the miracles, perfection, dying for you, resurrection, He was worshipped as being God ever since being a baby, people calling Him Lord and God, on and on.

1 Timothy 2:5 - the man Jesus Christ. He did become a man and He is a mediator to the Father. Both man and God. Titus 2:13

Let's say that you honestly read the entire Bible and weighed all the evidence and support, and prayed for wisdom about it. If you found that the Bible has more support for Jesus being God would you choose to believe it?

Do you believe God has limited power, or do you think God has the ability to be in a form we created beings don't have a framework to understand? For example of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were one, 1 John 5:7.

Do you believe Jesus is Lord as Romans 10:9 says? Do you believe He died for you for the forgiveness of your sins?

    God bless...

Gigi My heart in my communication is only for greater understanding what a person chooses to believe or

not believe is based on a lot of background info whether proven or not. Myself I had absolutely no type

of denomination background at all but I spent literally when i was younger a full year of just going to work 8 hrs.

and studying the scripture all the rest of the time I had no contact with the outside world period. Then I

went out and watched others and listened. Either it lined up or not, I do have research material but again if it

doesn't fit with all scripture I drop it.

Just a bit of heart what started my quest to give anyone possibly a laugh I was at a friends house and

we were smoking something not good I was a hippie, then we flipped through the t.v. channels and the end of

the greatest story ever told came on and I watched this guy going up in clouds and say lo I am with you always

even till the ends of the age. My initial attention getter because I knew mankind the way he was headed was

going to be toast and where was I going to wind up. So went home found my moms bible read the book of

revelation first and went into complete and absolute shock not knowing about being born again and forgiveness

just understanding my butts going to be eternal toast. I didn't eat or sleep for three days, then by Gods grace

got into the gospels and read about this Guy who Loved healed and raised the dead and gave his life

paid so you would be saved. Read Romans 10:9+10 absolutely believed it and that was the start. Lost girl

friend all immediate so called friends and began my new life in Him and never looked back. Eventually SIT

and signs miracles and wonders followed. Also I fellowship with others either in person or by phone hookup

its a bit challenging for me to travel I deal with spinal stenosis not fun. So Gigi there's some of my heart,

I can come across sometimes short or too brief due to my challenged body.

Comforter, the spirit to come after as he says he is Glorified, and that occurred when he Sat at Gods Right

Hand and completed His ministry on Earth. It was not available to receive permanently gift of Holy Spirit

until pentecost and to be received we confess out saviour from sin and from the heart Romans 10:9+10

and believe in your heart. It's your privilege to believe what you will. Moving onward to the bema!

guard or keep thy heart Gods Word with all diligence[mental effort to get desired result] for out of it are the issues of life. The more we put in our mind Romans 12:2 the more we believe in our hearts and the more we walk in the spirit we have

been given. Then we are witnesses because of changes in our lives.

    Salvation Message: (Part 3)

Most all of us would so easily make the choice to take the rope. But why is it so hard to take what God is offering, our salvation from sin, and eternal life with Him in heaven?

If we believe in heaven and we want to go there someday, because the alternative is not so great, why would we not take His offer of salvation? We would take the rope so easy, no brainer, but we hesitate when it comes to the most important thing, our salvation from sin.

You see, the bible tells us in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. We are headed toward this huge sinkhole called death, and we don't know when that day is coming. One day, that sinkhole will collapse below our feet. It could be today, it could be tomorrow, a week from now, or several years away.

In our natural human way of thinking, we always think it's the latter, or several years away. The problem is that we really don't know when it will be. But when the world collapses below your feet, like that big sinkhole we are all headed for, wouldn't you want someone there to grab you and keep you from falling to the point of no return? Even though Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death, it also says but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

You see, we can't save ourselves. Therefore, we need a Savior. God does not want us to fall into that sinkhole. He wants to save us and keep us from falling. Without Him, we will fall.

Romans 10:13 says for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. This is a promise. It doesn't say might be saved, but will be saved. God loves us and does not want us to perish in our sins, therefore He has provided us a way out, a lifeline, a rope because we are drowning in our sinful state.
  • Free - In Reply - 3 years ago
Dear Darnita. If you start by believing in Jesus Christ. So believe that He is the Son of God. Dead and buried and rose again on the third day. That God the Father raised Him from the dead.

And confess it with your voice.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Do this search in the heart for faith? Do you have faith?

The day the Holy Spirit came to us, that day was a promise that the Comforter would come. Jesus promised it to his disciples. All who believe in Jesus Christ will receive the Holy Ghost. And if u will be completely sure of it can u also do what it said in:

Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

And belive in the scriptures :). Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

God bless u and yours in His Holy Name Jesus Christ now and forever. Welcome and Love u in Christ.

We all go through things that are difficult and in these times grab your Bible and read. Christ will be with you he never leaves you. You will have a wonderful relationship with Christ and have a great testimony to witness to people. We are here to do God's will and I can't imagine losing a child. My heart breaks for you. I honestly believe he sends people to us and I am here. I will be praying for you and make this year a great one. I'll pray for you always.

William Swarathie My bible says in Romans 10:9+10 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus and shall believe in your heart[seat of personal life] basically mean it that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt absolute

tense be saved. For with the heart [innermost part of your being] man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth

confession is made unto salvation[complete wholeness]. Notice first part mouth to heart second part mouth to heart.

Lynn God is Spirit John 4:24 we can't physically communicate with God, therefore many times in the scripture all of Gods creation in some aspect is used to describe a characteristic of God I.E. Gods eyes run to and fro in the earth its a figure of speech, God is my fortress and my rock of salvation, my God will bare his arm, God is a fountain of living water.

Now when were born again we again have a spiritual communication with the Father holy spirit 24/7 confessing

Romans 10:9+10 and believing and changing our lifestyle to Gods Word.

    Precious friend asked:

Can someone get salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ in any of the four ways:

    1. Praying prayer of salvation? Yes, Biblical Luke 18:13-14, if one "believes The Gospel Of GRACE (CHRIST Died for sin, was buried, And Rose Again, According To The Scriptures)" 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, By God's GRACE Through faith Ephesians 2:8-9, (belief) "with the heart" Romans 10:9

IF "NO belief," then, No, praying a prayer is useless.

    2. Taking Holy Communion? No, 'tradition' for salvation is UNbelief. The LORD's Supper is simply a "Commemoration" for believers Only, to 'figuratively' "show The LORD's Death Til HE Comes!" 1 Corinthians 11:26

    3. Receiving the word of God when preached? No, receiving The Word, but NOT believing It, is not salvation, But, receiving God's Word Of Truth With Glad BELIEF would be Eternal Life!

    4. Getting Healed? No. Not salvation, see above.

Precious friend, Thanks for asking Important Bible questions.

Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, and Edified!

    S. Spencer I'm with you on this because under Paul's ministry to the gentiles and in the church epistles water

baptism is not specified but baptism is stated and when you work the word baptise which can mean a pouring over

with water dipped in water or complete and internal cleansing spiritual. In Acts 9:17+18 when Paul was called out

the word baptised is internal and water is never mentioned. This action was given at the end of the law under John

the baptist ministry to prepare Israels hearts for the messiah before pentecost the spiritual birthday of the church. That

being said I have not apposed to it but getting the Job done Requires Romans 10:9+10 in the age of Grace according

    to Paul's epistles.

    requires Romans 10:9+10

    Hi Scott.

God was saving People long before Abraham, There was no Israelite. But to answer your question, Here's one of many of many verses.

Acts 15:7-11. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

    8) And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    9) And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

    10) Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

    NOTICE VERSE 11.

    11) But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ ( WE SHALL BE SAVED EVEN AS THEY.)

"We shall be saved even as they"

If you're not careful you would think it should be the other way around.

"They shall be saved even as us.

Do you see the order of God's redemption plan spoken of by Paul to the Romans?

    Romans 9:25-26.

    Romans 9:31-33.

    Romans 10:1-4.

    Romans 10:19-21.

    Romans 11:8-25.

    Here's the conclusion.

    Romans 11:29-33.

    God bless.

M With all due respect the context of what you have given scripturally applies to a fool that does not believe

Gods word all the people that have replied from what I've read do believe and its not a case of challenging

there belief or faith, its a case of what is being stated defies the scripture because even Jesus Christ said to

Peter flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, therefore anything in the realm of human reasoning or

if you will logic or anything of the five senses except believing what Romans 10:9+10 and acting on that

    is all that matters.

Dear M. I agree with what some have posted here. It is hard to look at all of creation and what science has revealed to use in recent centuries to not consider that there is a creator who is much grander and powerful than us. But man's heart is hardened and unable to believe in God without faith. It is a spiritual work that allows us to believe that the God of the Bible is the only and one true God. But in Hebrews 4:12 states that "the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper that any two edged sword, even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart." and in Romans 10:17 says that "faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the word of God." This tells us that God's holy Word (Scriptures) is the vehicle God uses to bring people to faith in Him.

Therefore, we as believers should know that if we want someone to be convinced that God exists, we are to speak the truth of the Word of God to them and let God work its power in the person we are sharing with. We can trust this to be true. I hope this helps.

Eljer Jesus Christ always did the fathers will and word which means he walked by the revealed knowledge

given to Him by God which that can change according to situations that arose that he went up against.

When he gave in Luke 10 1-24 he sent out seventy two by two and they were given power and specific

instructions to carry out as they were told and got the results. This was specific to the situation, that's how spiritual

knowledge works it is Gods solution to a problem. When Joshua was told how to bring down the walls of Jericho its

the same thing, what he was instructed by God to do made absolutely no sense, but it was Gods solution to the situation

at the time and he and the people obeyed and got delivered. Nothing has changed when we believe Gods Word today

we get the same deliverance, it starts with Romans 10:9+10 believed then changing in our walk and talk not lip

    service but heart.

Michael I may be oversimplifying this but the first broken fellowship or disobedience or sin was don't

eat from the one specific tree and they ate. All sin is broken fellowship with God and every person born

that wa given to Him By Jesus Christin This the Age of Grace. So again I'm Moving on you can judge me as

Grace ambassador There's a major difference between what your stating and asking God what to do specifically.

I understand that to be Born Again Romans 10:9+10, but what I shared was no compromise, if God tells me to

walk into a forest with someone to get them peaceful in their hearts and mind to receive then that's what I'll do.

Sort of like marching around a certain wall called Jericho and blowing trumpets to knock down a fortress. It

worked because God told Him what to do and he told the people and they obeyed something that made no sense!

Gods Ways are not ours someday we'll believe this stuff. Prayerfully this explains it.
  • Rick - In Reply - 3 years ago
Chris Just to clarify I never said not to do it I stated not necessary to receive power from on High by Being

born again of the Spirit. The reality is the book of acts is the Transition book from end of the Law period to Age

and there waa overlapping of practices until the apostle Paul by Gods Grace Believed and Jesu Christ showed

in practice the Spiritual walk in the age of grace. That being shared if some one wants baptized o.k. if not o.k.

whatever as long as they confess Romans 10:9+10 and believe and do the word. Just sharing some heart.
