    Dan...these scriptures should answer your question.
    1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

    John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • Paul on Romans 10:9 - 11 years ago
    Are you saved NOW in the present tense or at the 2nd Coming of Christ Jesus? And if you are saved NOW in the present tense, can you lose your salvation?
  • Alan on John 10:30 - 11 years ago
    If Jesus is God, so who resurrected Jesus? Jesus is not God, whose name is Jehovah; but he is the Son of God. Jehovah resurrected Jesus from the dead. Romans 10:9.
  • Steven on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
    Acts 2:38, being Baptized is not part of your Salvation; it shows that you are saved, read Romans 10:9-13, John 3:16. If you notice Jesus did not Baptized anyone, John Baptized him for an example for us, it shows the Death, Burial and Resurrection; the only way you can be saved is through Blood Of Jesus Christ.

    @Rich,
    All you need is summarized in one verse, 2 Timothy 2:15:
    “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
    You have to apply of your best to learn the word of God, which is also the will of God, knowing God will never ask you something that you cannot do.
    Romans 10:
    6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
    7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
    8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
    So you need to attend a church and do what you are taught. There are some churches which teach ungodly ways of living. But your heart will never believe lies, unless you deny reason by yourself.
    May God lead you in the light of Christ Jesus our lord and savior.
  • Mas on 2 Corinthians 5 - 11 years ago
    @Samuel,
    The word of God is so simple, so clear ; and it says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”, Romans 10:17.
    The more we learn from the word of God, and as we believe it and also practice (it), the more faith we will have.
    God bless you.
  • Debbie on Romans 10:17 - 11 years ago
    It is all about the word, speak it and apply it. It all started in Genesis. God spoke the word and created everything.
  • Jay on Luke 24 - 11 years ago
    @Joy,
    1. If you are an Old Testament Jew maybe repentance and forgiveness starts at Jerusalem in the name of Jesus.
    2. But for a New Testament born again believer repentance and forgiveness begins from a person’s heart ( Romans 10:10) and we confess our sins to Jehovah God in the name of our saviour Jesus Christ ( I John 1:9).
    3. We would like people to actually quote the bible (King James Version 1611) to prove their beliefs!
  • Jay on Luke 24 - 11 years ago
    @Roger,
    1. The invisible God was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory ( John 1:14);
    2. Born again Christians in the church age will spend eternity in the New Jerusalem after the millennial reign of Christ and white throne judgment ( Revelation 21:2, 3, 10);
    3. Salvation comes by believing on the lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior ( Romans 10:9-13);
    4. There are many cults that believe in God, Jehovah as their saviour, but the bible does not support believing in God, as source of salvation. We as believers must always remember to make this distinction that Jesus that died on the cross of Calvary for our sins. It becomes confusing to the unbelievers and those that are ignorant of the scriptures;
    5. It is now in these days of the spirit of the anti-Christ that we must make distinctions and give heed to matters that pertain to the absolute truth of God's holy word.
  • Ruben Rodriguez on Romans 10:9 - 11 years ago
    The passage says: that if you confess The Lord Jesus with your mouth thou shall be saved. He is not telling you to say that he is Lord, because guess what, He is LORD of Lords and King Of Kings weather you say it or not. But if you say it with your mouth that Jesus is your Savior thou shall be saved. The NIV readers are the ones that put it that way. Peace to all.
  • Jay on Luke 23 - 11 years ago
    @ Wilsom Mungai,
    1. The time of salvation is the moment a person calls upon and receives the lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior ( Romans 10:9-13);
    2. Easter is a Babylonian pagan ritual from the pagan Astaroth ( Deuteronomy 1:4);
    3. A bible believing Christian should never refer to the resurrection day as Easter;
    4. My question is what does the rabbit and egg have to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ?
  • Kevin on Psalms 83 - 11 years ago
    Looking for truths, What does Jesus the person we are to follow closely in footsteps have to say about it? ( John 14:28) “If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.” It can’t be that they are equal with one saying the other is greater right? Matthew 26:39, “Going a little farther he [Jesus Christ] fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.’” (If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will). John 8:17, 18, “[Jesus answered the Jewish Pharisees:] In your law it is written that the testimony of two men is true; I bear witness to myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness to me.” (So, Jesus definitely spoke of himself as being an individual separate and distinct from the Father). Looking for truths, God’s name and who He is is huge! Jesus our teacher knew this and gave ALL credit to his Father Jehovah. Through Jehovah ALL things are possible, without Him nothing is possible. The translators of the New Testament translated without any desire to add human doctrines. They only wanted the truth. And even if God’s name did get in His book more than in the original, what would be better, knowing His name or taking His name out and not knowing His name? I think it’s better to let the Bible translate the Bible. What does all of it say . . . Romans 10:13, For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”
  • Jay on Luke 17 - 11 years ago
    The kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom ( Romans 17:14) and comes not by observation (verse 20).
    a. The kingdom of God comes by believing and receiving ( Romans 10:10) Jesus Christ into your heart (soul) as your personal savior;
    b. Anyone who has never humbled themselves ( James 4:6) and invited Jesus Christ into their heart (soul) being born again not by corruptible seed becomes the exception regardless what some people believe.
  • Jay on Luke 15 - 11 years ago
    1. This is a beautiful parable of forgiveness after repentance ( Romans 10:13), for a person needing salvation and ( 1 John 1:9) for a person who is already saved.;
    2. This parable also gives Christian parents that have witness our children being saved at a young age and bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the lord ( Ephesians 6:4) and have to try to create a godly environment in the home a much needed inspiration;
    3. Enrolling our children in a good Christian school and being active in a good bible believing church enhances this godly environment;
    4. This is important because we as parents need to recognize our children as an investment not only for our good, but for their good future here on earth and for all eternity;
    5. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to bring up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart far from it;
    6. This is the advantage that believers who have created an environment as I have described above have over believers and non-believers that have not or do not participate in bringing up a child the way they should go according to God's holy word;
    7. This father most obviously did bring up both boys in the nurture and admonition of the lord to get results like this;
    8. A life time of being faithful to God's truth came home to roost;
    9. God always honors faithfulness in being obedient to his holy scriptures, commandments, precepts, principals, and statutes;
    10. It is never too late to get started, but the longer we wait the more difficult it can be;
    11. Earlier is better than later, but later is better than never.

    1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Truly, brethren what does it really mean to 'confess our sins? What does confession mean in this context? It is important to make this plain and known to everyone because it is fundamental to salvation. I thought of ROMANS 10:9, and my understanding is that confession here is speaking out that which you have come to believe or be convinced of. Sometimes people answer alter calls and repeat after a preachers, give their names to church councilors and then follow up begins, which sometimes prove to be futile exercise, because confession was not done right. I will appreciate your comments, please.
  • Mas on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
    @Fruitloop,
    It is not baptism that saves us, it is rather the faith of Jesus Christ, Romans 10:9, 10.
    Baptism is just a symbol of repentance, but it is not conditioned to one’s salvation.
    God bless you.
  • Louieg on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
    The book of Acts is actually the beginning of the church administration. as prior to this throughout the Old Testament and the Gospels it was only available to have the spirit upon you. In Romans 15:4 it says that for whatsoever things were written afore-time were written for our learning and these are great, great learning tools, but when Jesus Christ died for our sins and was ascended into heaven, then and only then was it available to be born again and have the spirit of Christ in you. Romans 10:9,10 is the key to being born again and God made it so easy, but people try to work their way to heaven and they miss the simplicity of how easy God made it available to us.
  • Mas on 2 Thessalonians 1 - 12 years ago
    @Brian,
    2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 is for those who willfully refuse to accept the truth, and obey God. It is not for those who actually have not been preached to, as Romans 10:13-21.
    One has to be taught and refuse to obey, just like those mentioned Romans 10:21.
    God is just, and He has prepared a resurrection for the just and another resurrection for the unjust. But the dead in Christ come ahead of both resurrections, Acts 24:15; 1 Thessalonians 4:16.
    And there will be a time, when those who have not heard the gospel during their lifetime will be taught, and given choice to make for themselves, sometime during the apocalypse.
    So let’s trust God’s love and mercy shall also prevail with her.
    God bless you.
  • Jay on Mark 4 - 12 years ago
    @ St Daniels,
    This individual is correct in that we must be born again to receive the truth of understanding and wisdom of God's holy word ( John 3:3-5; 4:24).
    1. The bible is written for believers after they have been regenerated;
    2. But one does not stay saved by their works of goodness (righteousness);
    3. We are saved by the faith of Jesus Christ ( Hebrews 12:2), all we do is ask for it ( Romans 10:10-13). It is his (Jesus) faith that saves us and keeps us saved ( Hebrews 12:2);
    4. Anyone that believes you can lose your salvation after being born again, does not comprehend the meaning of being born again ( Colossians 2:9-13);
    5. Jesus is eternal and when you receive him as lord and savior, your become eternal (new nature II Corinthians 5:17). Your flesh is still able to sin, but the new seed you have received does not sin ( I John 3:9). Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God ( John 6:63; I Corinthians 15:50). A new baby is born with a live body, live soul, and a dead spirit. When a person is born again they now have a living soul, a living spirit, and a dead body. There is a trade off at the moment of salvation ( Ephesians 2:1-10).

    I believe that there is a lot of Christians that read the word but they truly don’t have a knowledge of who God is or what he is saying. So because they now have what I believe is a taste of salvation or God to say. They believe they can begin to fix everyone else. This chapter speaks of having zeal. Yes having a desire to do the things of God, but having no knowledge on how to do them. So in turn you the person can become deadly to another individual. Your seal should be first to find out what God is saying for you, and get that down which for most of us. That’s enough to do for years before we just start giving the counsel of God’s word to others. We don’t realize sometimes because we are feeling so great about being saved that what works at the time for us, might not be what the next individual needs to hear. Slow down and let God. Stick to the basics, until you have obtained some seasoning on how and where and at what time to use his word.
  • Mas on Ezekiel 1 - 12 years ago
    @John,
    To become born again, you must accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, and believe that God raised him from the dead. Which means you confess or profess that Jesus becomes the lord of your life. You will obey him and follow him; you surrender your life to him that he may govern and mold it as pleases to him ( Romans 10:9,10).
    That you can do by yourself, but it is best you are ministered, because that will give you and additional gear to make your travel in Christ Jesus more efficient. So best you approach a church in your vicinity, and get helped by them.
    God bless you.
  • Kevin on Romans 3 - 12 years ago
    When you’re born again Romans 10:9-10, you have the faith of Jesus Christ, after that it is by believing, the word faith is Greek word Pistis, in the grace administration which covers Romans through to Thessalonians, most of usages of faith should be translated believing, 2 Timothy 2:15.
  • Jay on Matthew 22 - 12 years ago
    Many are called and few are chosen, I wonder if people ever read the verses before and after a verse, to find the understanding of the context. God through the holy spirit John 6:44, calls many (all) humans to believe on the lord Jesus Christ, for the saving of their souls Romans 10:9-13, but few are chosen (acceptance of the call), to believe on the truth and be converted (born again), John 3:3, as little children.
  • Jay on Matthew 6 - 12 years ago
    @Preye,
    On verse 33-, The only way to inherit the Kingdom of God is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Not just to know of him, but to know him intimately, Romans 10:9-13; John 3:1-7.
  • Jay on Matthew 19 - 12 years ago
    @Christopher,
    On verse 29- I cannot teach dispensational truth in this little space, but the book of Matthew is in New Testament, but not necessarily for church age doctrine. Read the epistles of Paul; Romans to Philemon for church age doctrine. Eternal salvation is for all who will receive Jesus Christ into their heart as savior ( Romans 10:9-13). The statement in verse 29 is directed at the disciples (Jews) for a future dispensation (millennial reign of Christ).
  • Jay on Matthew 15 - 12 years ago
    @Elizabeth Lee,
    This is why Christians need to study dispensational truth by Clarence Larkin. I Timothy 2:15, God’s plan of salvation for all mankind has never wavered, Ephesians 1:4, Matthew 25:34, God’s method may change, but not his plan. Jesus first purpose was the Jews and have the Jews to have the oracles of God and to evangelize the world, but the Jews rejected him as their messiah John 1:11. So the kingdom of heaven was postponed and ushered in the church age (kingdom of God). The responsibility has now been given over to the gentiles ( Ephesians 3:1-10) until the time of the gentiles become in ( Romans 11:25), at the rapture of the body of Christ. When Christ stated that it is finished on the cross of Calvary, salvation was available for mankind and extended to whosoever would invite Jesus into their heart as savior, Romans 10:9-13, I Timothy 4:10.
  • Reynolds Smith on Romans 10:13 - 12 years ago
    The Word of God does not need to be changed or altered. It says it all and is simple to believe. The Holy Spirit is drawing everyone to Jesus Christ and He is waiting for anyone to call upon Him for forgiveness of sin and He will hear their prayer and forgive them of all their sins.
  • Jay on Matthew 7 - 12 years ago
    Verse 22 is a prime example of a person that professes salvation, but does not possess salvation. Romans 10:9-13, this person is in denial of their true relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Galatians 6:7, the time of this event follows the millennial reign of Christ called the white throne Judgment, Revelation 20:11.

    Verse 12: Whose fan is in his hand,.. The fan is the word of GOD BECAUSE IT DISCERNS THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF MEN ( HEBREWS 4:2)AND JUDGES MEN'S EVIL WAYS ( Revelation 20:13). ...PURGE HIS FLOOR, -THE FLOOR IS THE EARTH AND ALL ITS CREATION, IN THIS CASE THE HUMAN BEINGS. IF THE FLOOR MENTIONED HERE IS THE CHURCH, THEN WHAT ABOUT UNBELIEVERS, SINCE THEY ARE GOING TO BE JUDGED TOO AND THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE CHURCH? THE WHEAT IS THE CHRISTIANS AND THE CHAFF STANDS FOR UNBELIVERS ( ROMANS 10:16). THE GARNER IS HEAVEN AND THE UNQUENCHABLE FIRE IS THE LAKE OF FIRE MADE FOR SATAN.
