And when Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God", he speaks of changing the focus from off worldly matters & pursuits (though, we must still live in the world). Paul uses the Greek word that we know as 'metamorphosis', or to transform or change into a "new creature" ( 2 Corinthians 2:7) by first causing our minds to be renewed (re-focussed; in a new direction). And this can only happen when we first determine this in our hearts & minds, allowing God's Spirit to take full control, thereby causing us to have power to live for Christ & to live to make Christ known. And indeed, as already been said, our minds need to feed on God's Word that our spirits might be refreshed daily, giving "proof (in our hearts) of that good, acceptable & perfect Will of God" in our lives.
You renew your mind by reading and staying focused on the word of God. It will change your way of thinking to better align it with God's thinking.
I understand what you are saying about not turning down service providers based on if they are believers or not, I certainly would not turn down bypass surgery or roof repair because the provider was not a believer; however, those services are quite different than "spiritual" or "mind" service providers. Heart surgery or roof repair is not doctrine or the word of God and has nothing to do with salvation or living a Godly life or solving behavioral (heart) problems ( Jeremiah 17:9, Mark 7:20-23).
When it comes to obeying the Lord and following His word, psychology just seems to be a secular (and ungodly) look at behavior. It is an attempt to explain why we do things and what the solution is without referring to God and His word. Psychology is an invention from worldly men who denied Jesus Christ (people like Freud, Wundt, Jung, Skinner, etc). Some psychologists even merge the word of God and secular theory which seems unbiblical to me (we are to be set apart from this world - John 15:19, Romans 12:1-3, 1 John 2:15-17).
I guess what I am really asking is - to put it how you were phrasing it - if someone was 'sick' (spiritually) why would they go to a secular physician (psychologist) and not a spiritual physician (Jesus)? We even have a behavioral manual (the Word). The bible seems to continually say that the Lord and His word are sufficient, exactly what we need and that we should avoid the wisdom of men ( 2 Timothy 2:15-16, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 2:25, Hebrews 4:14-16, Isaiah 55:7-9). 1 Corinthians 2:11-16. When we become a Christian, we have the mind of Christ, which is spiritual - not worldly. Jesus is our counselor ( Isaiah 9:6) and he knows us ( John 2:25).
It seems that as a Christian we either believe that the word of God is sufficient for all spiritual problems or we don't.
BTW - this is not for me, it involves a family member.
Search out other young people who love reading the Bible. And anything to do with Jesus or God.
Don't hear their words cuz if they say they love Jesus or are saved but don't have any good fruit like reading Bible ,praying, worshipping
( which usually includes looking upward and smiling with that sparkling I love you look in the eyes).
And get saved out loud. Yes, in front of the church.
Living life without Jesus is like swimming in a giant pool of other peoples puke mixed with your own! In other words, it's just awful! And it will make you feel that awful too.
Jesus loves you. Take a step of faith. Be bold!
Even tho you can't see Him, Jesus is at the front of the church. Walk towards him. Receive His salvation in a prayer. Write the date inside your Bible. Start reading it in the Book of John.
He will never leave you, no matter what happens.
We are here to answer any questions you need answers for.

Hopefully that helps in your study.
I noticed what you wrote "I don't create my own belief. I understand that I must be born again, and that it is totally a gift from the Holy Spirit." and thought I'd share my belief as well.
I'm not sure what you mean by you don't create your own belief. Believing is a choice. We are given freewill to choose who we want to follow and whether to obey. I choose to follow and obey Jesus Christ. John 14:15
Some believe faith is a gift. We can gain faith through hearing the Word of God as it says in Romans 10:17. This verse indicates that God can control the measure of faith we have: Romans 12:3. Some interpret Ephesians 2:8-9 as faith as being a gift, but I believe it means salvation is the gift. I believe we already have the freewill to choose and we gain faith through reading God's Word, just like it says.
Do you want to follow Christ? Have you read the Bible verses about how to do that? Link
We are all sinners.God loves all of us! We are all brothers and sisters in Christ!
1 John 4:20
"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"
Romans 12:10
"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;"
I love you, and I will pray for you my brother.
God Bless
Proverbs 3:32-34
King James Version
32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. Genesis 19:9 9And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. 2 Peter 2:7
"And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:"
King James Version. Proverbs 3:32: For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous." People are froward - forceful with their words and actions to spesific people. Matthew 11:12
"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." People are forceful toward the people I mentioned. Islamic People don't like what I teach. The catholic church does not say what I teach. Pedophilia people are not like either one of them. Whatever you do unto the least of these my brethren, you are doing it unto me. Romans 12:2
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." People s think God's will is: You are associated with that name: die, or you are a pedophile or a sex offender, when a young person just so happens to see parts, that made their life to be a reality.,
Romans 12:20 may not be the same situation you're facing, but it gives an important principle: "if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head." It really means, that even if a known person hates or despises you, if that person is in need, your Christian love will still reach out to him. Why? Because we look at the need of the person rather than the anger in his eyes. In like manner, the Gospel has gone out to the farthest lands; not because of anyone's desire to be rejected, injured or killed, but because of the desperated need of the lost soul for the saving Message that can only be met by going out & doing - not waiting & remaining indifferent.
If you are truly concerned & passionate about helping others, you will look beyond the thoughtless or reckless actions of others, & only see the present need. The Lord sees your heart & motives - He is well able to use your loving efforts to bring blessing to another (as you have probably done already), not only in the physical realm but also in ministering to another's spirit. May the Lord lead you in this matter & comfort you in your struggle & pain.
The Rapture; Caught Up; In the Clouds
End of Days
I am an Evangelist. I see lambs, sheep, wolves, hirelings and those called to be shepherds.
I'm just going to leave it at that and ask God to raise up more shepherds who care for the Sheep. To guide, in one accord, all those who want to know what the Caught Up is, and how to be a participant in that?

Comment by Mishael: Amongst Church members, I would hope that we don't judge each other's greetings.
In our present culture we seem to be hyper aware of any kind of sexual harassment.
Inside of our Church setting we should be able to greet each other with a handshake and squeeze on the arm without a problem.
Rather than be shocked by standoffness, try to discern the other persons body language. We are naturally hyper now due to Covid-19 and Variant fears. It is, what it is.
John 7:17 - If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
As we yield our members, servants to obey, we are led by His life in us.
Walking not according to this world, but weighing everying thing in view of eternity.
Christ in you, the hope of GLORY. Not willing that any should perish, we, by HIS GRACE bring light, transforming light must begin.....
..... that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 5:17 - Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
I would like to comfort you by telling you that if you are born of God's Spirit, you will one day go to be with Him. That is a guarantee. Every person who has been born of God's Spirit (Received Christ) has been sealed by His Spirit until the day He comes to redeem His purchased possession ( 1 Peter 1:5).
Your salvation is not based on your thoughts but on the keeping power of God. If you belong to Christ, you are being kept by His power alone. None of us can keep ourselves saved.
The apostle Paul fought for the believer's mind. If you read 2 Corinthians 10:4-6, you notice this is the "pulling down" of everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Any kind of spiritual experience that a person has or personal revelation that a person has which exalts itself against the knowledge of God, when you say that can't be true, or that can't be God, because look at what God's word says?
But most importantly, that last line, "taking captive every thought into the obedience of Christ."
Do you realize that after receiving Christ, the great battle that goes on is for your mind? Satan cannot take your soul but he wants to keep your mind from growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
That is where all of our struggles take place as believers, in the mind. Satan wrestles with us and he tries to keep us distracted and keep us away from God's word because that is how we grow.
We learn and we grow in Christ through His word. That is why Paul said this six times in his letters, "I would not have you to be ignorant brothers."
Remember what God said in the Old Testament? His people perished because of what? A lack of knowledge! God says, I inspired the Book. I inspired my truth for you to know it. I even put it in book form so you human beings can read it.
Reach out to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to transform and renew your mind. ( Romans 12:2)
