I believe it means that those who are strong in faith can endure all things and those who believe but are weak can endure little but should not be judge because God recieves all who believe through Christ. We who are stronger should strive everyday to help those who are weaker to become strong as one.we should also realize that being stronger does not make us better as we all fall short and sin.Romans touched my heart deeply and gave me a greater understanding of God's mercy and the belief that I should live my life everday as God wants and I also want to one day stand in his Glory. It was truly humbling to read.

As we all know that red meat is bad for the human body, especially meat being eaten with the blood running out of it,blood is life but yet it can causes a lot of diseases.Eating pork is not good for high blood pressure or the heart,so i will take God words in Jesus name at face value.

This portion clearly shows that there are things that do not make for peace and edification. To experience peace therefore, people must avoid those things like oppression.

The word unclean is actually common . Akathartos and koinos are not the same word but were translated as such. Clean meat is sanctified by the word of Leviticus. Jesus and the early Christians ate kosher. It is proven in Acts 15 when Christ 's disciple James tells the Gentile newcomers, "we should lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things, do not fornicate, do not eat sacrifices, do not eat things strangled because cutting the neck is required by kosher law , and eat no blood. Kosher law. This is the same eat no blood as Leviticus, and believe it or not eating bloody steaks has always been witchcraft. Peter doubts the vision in Acts 10, he had never considered eating unclean, there is no scripture of Jesus ministry on this Earth when he ever said eat unclean. Not in Greek anyway. That is where they lie to you! Again!

The word of God is true by itself. And we know that flesh and blood cannot reveal God 's word, it is the Holy Spirit. What a blessing reading the comments that God has revealed to all of us according to our faith in Him, God bless.

How can we love Jesus and we have never seen him. And we can love our brother. Righteousness, peace and joy, we should have through Christ Jesus.
  • Lilian on Romans 14 - 9 years ago
Jesus says man does not live by bread alone but by every word of God. Without accepting his word we will not have eternal life. God doesnt want us to have doubt in him as he promised everyone should bow down to him all each tongue shall confess because he is our God and we are his servants that needs to serve God. Jesus asked us to walk with faith and not by sight. Blessed are those who are pure in their hearts for they shall see God. Jesus wants us to seek him first deligently and love him with our hearts and soul. God already sanctifies and cleanse everything, the most important is not the bad food that we eat but the bad words that comes out from the mouth which speaks against the Holy Spirit. Jesus is looking for our pure hearts. Jesus loves you

I believe it is a wise disciple who searches the scriptures on a given subject before forming an opinion on an isolated verse. Though this verse appears to be speaking of one who may be week in faith, there may be more than we know going on here. Did Christ eat meat offered to idols?
  • Becky on Romans 14 - 10 years ago
I think it is saying we should not judge people who have different beliefs than our own. We should have fellowship with them, we are not judged by their actions we are judged by our own actions so don 't cause strife.
  • Beverly ann Jones Graham on Romans 14:17 - 10 years ago
Ivangelists Beverly Jones. Thus scripture was Given to me as comfort in a spiritual warfare at our fellowship dinner.Mans commandments Are grievous for the Liberty of love in The Sisterhood. Preferring one sister to the other is division in itself.. while denying a service a saint offers to The house of God is against the soul of the offender.we come together for fellowship meat and drink is there as a blessing to keep up our energy. the evil that comes in should not be as evil that 's found in the world at the gatherings I 'm speaking concerning the grief over food and drink and those different types of strife that come with pride. but the Holy Ghost should tell us what is right in love and expansion for the physical body but the spiritual strength needs the Holy Ghost it should be served at each of our fellowship meals..Fasting or not! the Hottest item on the menu should be Love in the Holy Ghost.

  • Brianna on Romans 14:12 - 10 years ago
I enjoyed Gayle 's comment. Definitely want to rely on Jehovah God in this time of the end. This scripture highlights to me that we have a measure of responsibility for what we do in life. In one aspect in particular, there are many pastors and priest teaching many different things. But do we not have access to the Bible to see for ourselves what it teaches? Would not we be at fault for following false doctrines because we did not take the time to verify our beliefs from the scriptures? This scripture encourages me to be a diligent reader of God 's word. I am accountable for my life. ME!

Romans 14 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. We are taught to pray thy Kingdom come. What is the Kingdom of God? Righteous, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost. Its the peace of God My peace I give unto you not as the world gives. The Joy of the Lord which is my strength. I have that peace and that joy. The world didn 't give it to me and the world cant take it away.

we are all going to give an account to God,even those so called Christian who think they are perfect right now! I know I will give an account for how I live so I pray everyday that God will close my mouth,be my eyes, ears, and teach me more and more how to walk!
  • Mark on Romans 14:17 - 10 years ago
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. This scripture talks about eternal life which is a witness in the heart of man thoughts spirit to find that there 's no guilt in the heart, only peace, righteousness awareness of what want GOD wants, loves and hates and joy in the only Holy Ghost. peace which is not for a moment but forever. The peace that God gives is His words when they have settled in man 's heart. every time we enter into mediation on the cares of the world eg what to eat, drink and dress is like conversing with a thief who comes to steal away the word because the devil knows that 's the life of man unlike man that is the reason JESUS warned the disciples in the parable of the sower. always live one day at a time knowing at the end of the day you have to give account to GOD "What word of Mine did you walk in " that 's the reason JESUS for man to fulfil the Word of GOD.

Grace works good through mankind. God is faithful. Holy Spirit is helping. For those who believe in him, he gave them power to be called the children of God. Let the weak say I am strong, says the Lord.
  • Peter on Romans 14:6 - 10 years ago
The day is obviously talking about the saturday sabbath. In the OT God the father demanded that people take a time off with there animals etc so that the day may focus on Him.This Law was applicable for the followers until death. This law along with 9 others written on stone remains applicable even today right up until the death of that person, just as a husband is bound to his wife til death. After which that covenant no longer applies. See Romans 7.After this death through Christ.Jesus now becomes Lord of the sabbath. He brings that TRUE sabbath rest into you 24 7 ,Sabbath rest is fulfilled in Him now and the believer cannot rest in Him more or Get closer to. Him on one set day.Every day from that death in Christ is the true sabbath rest in Him.You therefore CANNOT make one day holier than another.Again I stress read the last half of Romans 7.Not one jot or tiddle changes with those 10 commandments they stay in place UNTIL you die in Christ. At that moment the law is fulfilled in your life not done away with

yes sometimes people live by judgilg others than observing the commanments of God. verses 16 17, clearly gives a strong guideline to this selferighteousness. For the kingdom of heaven is not about food and drinks and so goes to certain believes. But in everything we do, do it in the will of God.

No man should judge his brother anymore but have this in mind. It is wrong to make things hard for your brother and fall into his hand, as a result of your judgememt. Because ye who judge is not perfect.
