    Thank you for your response, I just found your reply. For some reason it wasn't in my replys. I will check back on this thread again just incase you reply to this.

    I pray deliverance from any and all attacks against you while you're sleeping! Spiritual, natural or both.

    The 1st place I would like to start: Have you received or ask GOD to be LORD of your life? Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior? John 3:15-16,

    With that we are sealed with promise, 2Corinthians 1:20-22, Ephesians 4:30, Ephesians 1:13, James 1:5, Acts 5:32, Romans 15:13, Acts 2:28, 1Corinthian 6:19, John 14:26, Acts 10:38, Mark 16:16-18, 1John 5:9-21,

    * if you have not accepted Jesus as your personal LORD & Savior. Please do that right now, in prayer. 2Corinthians 6:2, 1Thessalonians 5:9, John 14:6,

    Hebrews 1, note Hebrews 1:14, if you have received Jesus Christ as Savior, then the visible/invisible image was it fighting on your behalf?

    * If you have been involved with anything associated with darkness & evil knowingly or others around you or in your dwelling have. Destroy those things, get it away from you. Turn away from those things. Ask forgiveness from our Father in Heaven. Matthew 6:23, Luke 11:34-36,

    * Ephesians 5:11,

    Ephesians 6,

    Hopefully these are helpful.

    Free,

    As I was reading your response to Serita, it reminded me of a time about 7 years ago while I was out shopping; I ran into a Christian brother that I have known for over 30 years. As long as I have known him, he has always been an avid runner. He would run almost every day. However, when I saw him in the store, his wife was pushing him around in a wheelchair. I went up and asked him what happened and he told me that while he was out running, something in his back just gave out and it paralyzed him. He had no use of his legs. As I was trying to hold back the tears, I told him that I was so sorry to hear this. He looked at me and the first words out of his mouth was "The Lord is good." Can you imagine that? There he was sitting in that wheelchair not knowing if he would ever walk again, but in a situation that might cause someone to think his or her life has been destroyed, and all he said was the Lord is good!

    That testimony right there took a few hours to sink in. However, when it did, it truly ministered to my heart. What I saw was a Christian brother whom I've known for so many years sitting in that chair and thinking that he may never again be able to do something he loved doing (Running). But all he said was the Lord is good. I wonder if it were me, would I do the same? Would I be bitter about my situation? Or would I use it for God's glory and minister to someone else the same way my friend ministered to me, that no matter what I am suffering or going through, the Lord is still good! Would I be able to say that in such a tough situation?

    By the way, he is walking again. He may never be able to run again, but he can walk. The Lord is good!

    DearSerita, Please know that you are forgiven in Christ Jesus and that He is always with you, even in your most difficult moments, He is with you.

    My Mom is in the hospital now for two weeks due to severe sepsis. I was with her all day yesterday. At times when her oxygen levels dropped into the 80's she was quite distressed and said it was hard to breathe. She would cry out, "Help me, please help me", and "Why me, why me". I would go next to her and tell her that God knows and is with her and that He is our hope. God has numbered our days and knows how many we all have. So, let's pray. and we would pray the Lord's Prayer and then I would pray freely with her. Sometimes this is all we can do either as the sufferer or the one who reminds of the hope of Christ.

    So, I say the same thing to you as I did to my mother. God is with You and is our true Hope. We do not always need to understand our suffering to lean into Christ nor should we use our time to blame ourselves, but instead, confess to God that we are sinners and can only have life and salvation by His hand and will. So we thank Him for life and forgiveness of sins, and be open for the work of the Holy Spirit in us during our times of suffering. Sometimes, all we can do is cry out to God, "Help me, help me."

    Thank u dear "Jesse", that was well said. Therefore, never take illness as a punishment Serita Winton on Romans 15. But let it seem to God's best cause. Everyone will see how happy you are, how bubbly Jesus has made you and so on. And even though we are weak, the strength of the Holy Ghost may be our testimony. Many testimonies are Christianity through sickness. Let it Never knocks us down, it's just one thing we have to get used to and live with. Instead of being paralyzed. We go on and become zealous for the Lord.

    He draws you to Himself, He loves you. Come to Me, He says, You who have heavy to bear and I will give you rest. That is the main thing and be saved. Remember that bitterness is contagious. Just like joy and laughter.

    Stay blessed in Jesus Name i love u all in Christ. ps today i read Romans 13:13-14

    Serita,

    I am sorry to hear of your MS. Being diagnosed with MS may not have anything to do with something you're doing wrong. It definitely doesn't have anything to do with a lack of faith. There is no such thing as a person who has been born of the Spirit of God having a lack of faith because spiritual faith is not something we can produce. If you have received Christ, you have already healed. You have been healed spiritually. Sin is a spiritual disease and Jesus Christ is the remedy for that. That's what He heals us from, sin. Although He can and does heal people physically, there is no promise that He will always do so. But please know that whatever we suffer in the flesh, it has nothing to do with our lack of faith. You are doing nothing wrong!

    Healing I know Jesus has already healed us that's a promise to us so I received my salvation so I was diagnosed with Ms and foot drop I read. ,scriptures, fast we know it's not on Jesus it's me what am I doing wrong we all got a measure of FAITH. I am his covenant partner.

    Deloys Sutherland,

    Hello, welcome to the Discussion & Questions section of this website.

    Many of us here volunteer here because we love GOD & love HIS people, whom HE created.

    Like Adam said be careful about listening to opinion. This is such a difficult topic, emotionally, spiritually, morally etc. This issue effects society, families, individuals.

    1st let's address the effects = Loss to their family, loved ones, friends, community & even the World. Loss of what that person would have accomplished, & what that would have attributed to each mentioned. 1Corinthians 12, Psalms 139,

    2nd, What that leaves behind = confusion, sadness, undue feelings of guilt, grief, helpless feelings to those dear & close to the person & then effecting all around them, even extended to people that looked at that person as an example, children nearby, jobs, everyone & everything left, all effected 2Corinthians 3:2, 1Timothy 4:12,

    3rd root causes = pain, abuse, sometimes just selfishness, etc. But we are not without hope, Romans 8, (whole chapter)

    Hope = Hebrews 4:8-16, Romans 5:1-21, Romans 15:4,13, Galatians 5:5, Colossians 1:23,

    Strength to endure = James 5:10, Romans 12:12,

    Comfort = 2Corinthians 1:2-4,

    Purpose = Ephesians 1:17-19,

    People that went through feelings of that but made it through = 2Corinthians 1, Job 7:15, Jonah 4:9, Matthew 26:38,

    Direction = Proverbs 2, Proverbs 8, Proverbs 10:2, Proverbs 24:10-12, Hebrews 4:15-16,

    Disobedience to GOD = Psalms 68:20, Ezekiel 18:32, Ezekiel 33:11, Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Hi Wanita.

    The epistle was written during Paul's third missionary journey, at Corinth where he spent three months. He had just come from Ephesus where he had spent three strenuous years.

    Dr. Griffith Thomas makes an interesting observation: "Certain names point clearly to Corinth as the place whence this Epistle was written." The picture of the gross immorality of the Gentiles in Rome is a picture drawn from the Corinth of Paul's day.

    OCCASION: This letter was brought forth by natural reason. Paul wished to visit Rome on his way to Spain. The letter was taken by Phoebe, deaconess of Cenchrea ( Romans 16:1).

    FOUNDER OF THE CHURCH AT ROME: Paul had not visited Rome when he wrote this epistle. In this respect it is different from all others, with the possible exception of the Epistle to the Colossians. No apostle had preceded Paul to Rome; obviously, Simon Peter had not. The Roman church was largely a gentile church, and Peter was not the apostle to the Gentiles ( Galatians 2:7). Paul's method was not to follow another apostle, and it is not likely he would have gone to Rome had another apostle preceded him.

    Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation. ( Romans 15:20)

    In a very definite sense, Paul was the founder of the church at Rome. This great metropolis drew men to its streets and marketplaces from all over the empire as if it were a magnet. Many whom Paul had led to Christ in other places made their way to Rome and witnessed there. The church in Rome was the assembly of these folk. This is not mere speculation, as Priscilla and Aquila are examples.

    Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my helpers in Christ Jesus. ( Romans 16:3)

    Paul had first met them in Corinth and led them to Christ ( Acts 18:1-3). Later they returned to Rome.

    Paul mentions 35 individuals by name in chapter 16. Of these, 27 were living in Rome at this time. These he must have met elsewhere in the.

    God bless.

    Continued: The Gospel of the Kingdom: Jesus and the 12 preached the gospel (good news) of the Kingdom at THAT time ( Matthew 4:17, Matthew 9:35, Acts 3:19). Which was for the Jew only ( Matthew 10:5,6: Luke 9:10 Matthew 15:24; John 4:22; Matthew 18:11; Romans 15:8) Appropriated by repentance, baptism, faith plus works. The content of the gospel of the Kingdom was Jesus was Israel's promised Messiah, the Son of God. " And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Matthew 9:35 The apostle Peter's profession of faith was that he believed Jesus was in fact the Christ, the Son of God. Not that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose from the dead three days later. No way, how could that be Jesus was still alive. And the gospel of grace wouldn't be revealed for another 10 years. Yes, of course. Everything is based on the finished work of the cross but in time, at that time ,that was all Peter or any other Jewish person was to believe for salvation. "He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven," Matthew 16:15-17 The gospel of the Kingdom began with John the Baptizer and ended during the Acts period ( Acts 15:11) The gospel of the kingdom will pick up again when the body of Christ is raptured and the Lord turns His attention back to Israel and the Kingdom gospel and the 490 years prophesied in Daniel 9. Also known as the tribulation, Jacob's Trouble, or Daniel's 70th week." And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come". Matthew 24:14 To be continued, conclusion:

    "...God Which raiseth the dead: Who Delivered us from so great a death, and Doth Deliver: in Whom we trust that He Will Yet Deliver us"

    Precious friends, is not the Solution to Confusion about God's Eternal Salvation, recognizing God's Differences Between His Relationship With us, And our fellowship with HIM?

    God's Simple Will, Today, Under His Pure GRACE? Very Simply showing Three Tenses Of His ETERNAL Salvation:

    1) Past Tense:

    God Establishes His Eternal Relationship With those who humbly believe, 100% trust, place Total faith, In The LORD JESUS CHRIST, His Death {Precious BLOOD}, Burial, And His Resurrection, According To The Scriptures! 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 cp Ephesians 2:8-9 Romans 3 Romans 4 Romans 5

    "GRACE Through faith" In The Merits Of HIS Precious And ALL-Sufficient BLOOD Results:

    All sins Forgiven, His Eternal Life, and, Peace With God! This Is Eternal Deliverance From "So Great A Death," The Penalty of sin! God's Operations Are Justification And Sanctification:

    Justification Is 'His Righteousness Imputed To us' Romans 4:13,16,22,24

    Sanctification Is 'God Setting us Apart,' Spiritually Romans 15:16 1 Corinthians 1:2

  • We Can Have The Mind of Christ Now - 3 years ago
    I did a long study on RACES. The origins of problems began with Nimrod. People dispersed after God confused the ONE COMMON LANGUAGE.

    People migrated to other parts of the world: Europe, Asia, South America, etc. After the flood, ship building happened. Different climates were thought to change skin pigment because of exposure to the Sun.

    These movements have been traced and published by those scientists on Google. Artifacts have been dug up and carbon dated back to Genesis.

    If we don't turn off the television and hit the books; we aren't going to learn anything except hatred against others we deem different or more privileged or less privileged.

    EDUCATION IS AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO HAVE A BURNING DESIRE TO UNDERSTAND ALL THE "WHYS". If you can't attend higher education because of costs.if you have sight and normal intelligence, AND CAN READ: you can self educate yourself.

    It takes drive and motivation and an unwillingness to accept humble beginnings in life. We can force ourselves to pursue excellence.

    I worked all my life in 2 separate careers. I forced myself to read books I didn't particularly want to read.

    NOW we live in a world of a gigantic Entitlement mentality. We want luxury without working for it. It's a dead end.

    We have untapped abilities. If we lean into Jesus and learn at His feet nowwe can do anything. I want to know all the WHY QUESTIONS; with answers. Jesus wants us to know the Answers.

    If we're not following Jesus; we're following this world system of angry voices.

    1 Corinthians 2:16

    For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

    Philippians 2:5

    Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

    Romans 15:6

    That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Jesus, Israel's Messiah, was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, not to the Gentiles. "But he [Jesus] answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 15:24 Jesus commanded His apostles to go only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel with the gospel of the kingdom and not to the Samaritans or the Gentiles. "These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 10:5-7. When Jesus was on earth, Paul says that He ministered to the circumcision, the Jews, and not to the Samaritans or to the Gentiles. "Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:" Romans 15:8. You are mixing Paul's gospel of grace through faith with the gospel of the kingdom that Jesus and the twelve ministered to the circumcision.

    This was the same problem that Paul addressed before the counsel in Jerusalem ( Acts 15) and in his letter to the Galatians. Paul said that if anybody, including angels, preached a gospel different from the gospel that he taught the Galatians, which is the gospel of grace through faith, let him be accursed, i.e., excommunicated from the faithful in the church.

    Finally, Christians should heed Miles Coverdale's advice when studying Scripture:

    "It shall greatly help ye to understand the Scriptures if thou mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goeth before and what followeth after."

    May the Lord Jesus Christ grant you mercy and renew your mind so that you can accept reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. Amen.

    Hello Richard,

    Thank you for your comments. I enjoyed reading your thoughts.

    Indeed, I certainly agree with you that the Old Testament books are still important for Christians. Indeed, the Apostle Paul said that all scripture is beneficial. ( 2 Timothy 3:16) He also stated at Romans 15:4 that those things were written to teach us. Also, at 1 Corinthians 10:6 and 1 Corinthians 10:11, he says that those things were examples to us to teach us and warn us.

    However, as far as the terms of a Testament or Covenant concerning the laws that we must obey, Christians should obey only the New Testament laws which are binding on a Christian. You cannot have 2 rental leases in force at the same time. The new rental lease makes the old one obsolete. The New Testament makes the Old Testament obsolete.

    Hebrews 8:13 "In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away."

    Hebrews 7:12 "For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the (Mosaic) law."

    Luke 16:16 "The (Mosaic) law and the prophets were until John..."

    Christians are not commanded in the New Testament to keep the Saturday sabbath and neither to keep a dominical sabbath (Sunday). There is no set day to keep. The only thing that is commanded to be kept is meeting together - that can be anytime during the week.

    Hebrews 10:24, 25 "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

    The Apostle Paul counsels against keeping any "day":

    Galatians 4:10 "Ye observe (sabbath) days, and (lunar) months, and (festivals) times, and (sabbatical) years."

    Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

    I welcome your further comments.

    Good day, Richard.

    In whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning; v.4 = Paul' s first epistle to Timothy ( 1Tim. 1:10), Paul qualified the term "Doctrine" with the very descriptive adjective "sound" which speaks of the spiritual "health" and wholesome "wellness" of the Doctrine when taught and learned correctly.

    Sound Doctrine is that which Scripture describes as:

    + "the Doctrine of The LORD" (Ac. 13:12);

    + "that form of Doctrine which was delivered you (the Church in Rome)" ( Rom. 6:17);

    + "the words of Faith and of good Doctrine, whereunto thou (Timothy) hast attained"

    ( 1Tim. 4:6);

    + "the Doctrine which is according to GODliness" ( 1Tim. 3:6);

    + "my (Paul's, according to that he DIVINELY received; e.g. 2Cor. 12:2-4) Doctrine" ( 2Tim. 3:10);

    + "the Doctrine of GOD our SAVIOR" ( Tit. 2:10);

    + "the principles of the Doctrine of CHRIST"

    ( Heb. 6:1; 2Jn. v.9); and

    + "the Doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment" ( Heb. 6:2).

    The same interpretation also applies to Paul's expression, "good Doctrine" ( 1Tim. 4:6; see the footnote there).

    In whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning ( Rom. 15:4) The same interpretation applied to Paul's expression here also applies to Paul's expression, "good Doctrine" ( 1Tim. 4:6; see the footnote there).

    Paul used the expression "sound Doctrine" four times, and only in his pastoral epistles to Timothy and Titus (see 1Tim. 1:10; 2Tim. 4:3; Tit. 1:9; 2:1) to distinguish "that [which] is contrary to sound doctrine" ( 1Tim. 1:10) from true Doctrine such as:

    + the spurious doctrines of which CHRIST described as "the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees" ( Mt. 16:12), which included the doctrine "of the circumcision" (v.10);

    + "every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive" ( Eph. 4:14);

    + "philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after CHRIST" ( Col. 2:8);

    + "the doctrine of Balaam" which blended sexual immorality into the True Religion ( Rev. 2:14); and

    + "the doctrine of the Nicolaitans" which gave unauthorized usurping power to spiritual leaders with unholy agendas ( Rev. 2:15).

    Revelation 3:19-22 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

    Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

    To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne.

    He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

    Revelation 21:5-8 And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

    And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

    He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

    But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

    the Scriptures; v.4 = The word "Scriptures" (note the plurality) translate from the Greek noun root (transliterated "graphe"; pronounced "graf-AY"), and from which the English language derives the elements " - graph" or "grapho - ", both of which speak of written words to convey a message or provide information.

    The singular word "Scripture" occurs approximately thirty-one times in the New Testament. The singular usage usually speaks of a particular passage and a specific context within the whole.

    The plural usage refers to all of the whole Body of GOD's Inspired Word. When Paul wrote this verse, he most assuredly referred to the Body of Scriptures now referred to as the Old Testament, and of which includes the Body of GOD's Promises "by HIS prophets" (cp. Lu. 1:70; Ac. 3:18 & 21; Rom. 1:2; Eph. 3:5).

    This plurality includes

    + "all the Scriptures" (Lu. 24:27);

    + the combined "Scriptures of the [individual]

    prophets" ( Rom. 16:26); and

    + "other Scriptures" ( 2Pet. 3:16).

    The Scriptures; v. 4 (cont.) = Too often, Christians tend to permit life's present trials distract and blind them from the Glorious Promises GOD has given to HIS people. The world is void of any lasting hope, but "we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope."

    When GOD's people read, believe, accept, and obey the Scriptures, they can't help but receive a keen sense of Christian confidence and spiritual hope. This hope comes directly from GOD as proclaimed in the following verse (v.5) through HIS DIVINELY Inspired Scriptures.

    The Scriptures are in truth, in fact, and in reality, GOD's literal verbal communication to HIS people. They provide hope, for they contain GOD's guaranteed DIVINE Prophecies and Promises to ultimately save and deliver all HIS people from this cursed world, and from their present body prone to sin and death.

    Moreover, through the Scriptures, GOD communicates HIS guaranteed Assurances to Glorify HIS people to enjoy the Heavenly Splendors of Eternal Life in the very Presence of their SAVIOR and REDEEMER, LORD JESUS CHRIST.
