My friends, Yes Apostle Paul was faithful and believed God, but Jesus had chosen Paul for the Gentiles ( Acts 9:15) and the other Apostles had to follow Jesus comments, do not go in the way of the Gentiles ( Matt 10:5-7). Paul is our Apostle for our time. So Jesus had to give him new Revelations ( Romans 16:25) . We are to follow Paul and read his epistles so we can understand the Bible 2 Tim 2:15

My friends, mystery means secret. A secret is something new that nobody knows. God (Jesus ) gave Apostle Paul lots of secrets. Nobody in the Bible knew about this but Paul. Now gospel means good news ( Salvation ). Jesus gave Paul the mystery of the Gospel, Ephesians 6:19. It is plain and simple that Paul was a very important man to Jesus. Jesus was using Paul for a new Revelation, Romans 16:25.

I agree with Sylvia of 7 mos. ago to J. Thomas. But, to take it further - Acts 14:18 - " ... scarce restrained the people from doing sacrifice to them". I know that's not verbatim, but the sense is there. So-called 'saints' in some churches have candles lit to them and prayers to them - in that saints name , which is un-biblical. A true saint does not WANT to be worshipped. They are - humble .

Vs. 1-2; At least in the KJV Phebe is NOT said to be a 'deacon'. Deacons were for men only. Phebe was called a 'servant' - which any true Christian is. She is noted in particular because - at that time there was very little available help for the church, and these 'noted' ones put themselves out there for Christ's sake, to do what they could, but they weren't any 'higher' in respect than any saint
  • Irene123 on Romans 16 - 7 years ago
    V. 25 - " ... according to the REVELATION of the mystery ... "; V. 26 - " ... but now is made MANIFEST ... "; there is no 'mystery' anymore; GOD was manifest in the flesh. Isa. prophesied of the virgin birth of IMMANUEL, God with us, but he didn't understand it, it was a mystery at that time.

    To Irene123
Matt. 28:19 - using the words of Jesus (thru Peter) of Acts2:38; Matt. 16:19. Irene did you know that none of these verses that you used were written for you to follow. Look at Acts 9:15, Romans 16:25-26, Romans 11:13, and Gal 1:8-9. After Acts 7 even the Jews could no longer claim them. Their exalted nation status was set aside until the tribulation.

Look at verses 17,18.Every church has them,Paul is saying watch out for them.

    Dennis,
You are certainly and eminently cortrect in your remarks regarding saints! Would that the millions who foolishly and uselessly pray to saints understand this truth!

There is no scriptures that teaches, except the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior, I here men say that, and it hurts my heart,
That is a man made doctrine,
Acts 2; 38 Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to ALL them afore off,

...the word saint translates into believer, pure and simple... all believers
  • Sylvia on Romans 16 - 8 years ago
This is a response to Jackie Thomas regarding verse 15 who are the saints? Paul was speaking of the christians in the church. When we truly accept Jesus as our LORD and Saviour we are Saints set apart from this world.
  • Dennis on Romans 16 - 8 years ago
To the question, "Who are the saints?" let me respond as follows: Saints are not some special class/group/subset of believers but are actually any who have trusted the Lord Jesus and are born again. See Philippians 1:1 for a proof text. Here you find mentioned those who makes up the church, saints, plus the two offices delineated in the New Testament for each local church; bishops and deacons.
  • Divine Michael (Evangelist) on Zechariah 1:16 - 9 years ago
As put forward recently by different scholars of the greatest book ever, man inceasant search on the scriptures enlighten man and gives a better understanding when the holy spirit is leading. The idea of many founders of churches today is a clear drifting away from the original pattern of the great Jehovah. The church of christ was to begin at Jerusalem according to this passage Zech. 1:16, isaiah 2:1 and fulfilled in Act chapter 2, the mixed interpretation of this context is unideal and consequencies are never symbolical, they are real. As such, any denomination that does not have her origin traced back to Jerusalem, and her Dogma in line with the apostolic approved examples, is never a CHURH OF CHRIST. Matthew 16:18 Romans 16:16 .

This gospel, Paul calls "my gospel " is the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the "Mystery " kept secret form the foundation of the world. Could it possibily be different from the gospel Peter preached, that was made known from the foundation of the world. "JUST ASKING "

2 JOHN 1:10 COMMENTS 3 24 2015 Yea, Exactly and Definitely.... As Apostle Paul said in ROMANS 16:17-18 1 CORINTHIANS 5:11 2 TIMOTHY 3:5. Praised the Lord for the gospel was revealed unto us, as said in ROMANS 1:16 A-men.
  • Jacob on Acts 8 - 9 years ago
Isn 't it amazing that people wrest the scriptures to their own destruction. The eunuch believed with his heart. Look at Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed FROM THE HEART that form of doctrine which was delivered you. How did he obey? HE was reading Isaiah and look at Romans 10:16 But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report? In the Church Age believing the gospel is obeying what God requires for salvation. Look at Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the OBEDIENCE OF FAITH Water baptism doesn 't connect you with the blood or anything of the kind. It 's not part of our Gospel for today. Show us a passage stating that the disciples were water baptized according to Acts 2:38 or any other water baptism. The eunuch was water baptized AFTER he was saved not in order to get saved and not part of his salvation. Salvation today is not of WORKS, Romans 4:5.
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Amen Gerandene, it 's so sad. They don 't realize that the kingdom offer is still there until Acts 7. So the gospel of the kingdom is still being preached in Acts 2:38 which is a different gospel Gal 1:8-9 than we preach. Paul is the apostle for the church age Rom 11:13,16:4, 1Tim 2:7. 2Tim 1:1, 2:7. We, like Paul preach the gospel of the grace of God Acts 20:24 and are saved by grace through faith and it is NOT OF WORKS. If you want to obey the gospel Trent Romans 16:16 says, But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report? Not Chatauna. Acts 2:38 is not our gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is.

Greet, acknowledgements of the family of God through Christ Jesus, by the Holy Ghost. Those whom belong to Him, being faithful and true to Him by the spirit of Jesus and the Holy Ghost within His people that are able to love those that donot belong to Him yet but this is written for the family of God.

Hello Ruby, v.22 is defineately interesting it confirms the fact that great Christian men even the very educated apostle Paul sometimes dictated their writings and letters by professional Christian scribes. Praise God almighty!
