    Man's wisdom and God's foolishness

    Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. ( 1 Corinthians 1:25).

    25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. ( Romans 1:22-25).

    2 Thessalonians 2:11

    And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

    Man has often sought one of two courses. The first result of man's degenerate state is wars; whether we look at the first murder involving Cain the firstborn son of Adam and Eve and their second child Abel; or the wars early on in Genesis and overall violence and corruption of the earth. The second is the attempt to replicate a "utopia" on earth. Often especially with the kings; emporers and dictators that came later on we see both occuring at the same time. This theme was apparent in ancient Rome and Greece where the materialism along with worship of idols led to eventual moral malaise and the self destruction within of civilizations which we see so often today.

    It is clear that we are heading for the final consummation; the final dictatorship of the Beast Antichrist so clearly described in Revelation; and seen in repeated past rulers who partially fulfilled the prophecies as to the character. His end is thus ( Psalm 2:9-10)

    The Lord will devour them in his anger,

    and fire will consume them.

    10 None of their descendants will survive;

    the king will kill them all.

    Always keep in mind that we CANNOT escape judgment without Christ; OR the call to worship Antichrist if unregenerate.

    God is unique and has only one true self. Part 2

    There is but one olive tree; some branches were cut off that we might be grafted in. We should not boast but be thankful, because by doing so, we could be cut off, Romans 11:17-21. We think today the Church, the body of Christ, as being Gentiles, but the Church, the body of Christ, started with the Jews," to the Jew first", that began at Pentecost, Romans 1:16. We, by the grace of God, were added to the olive tree and the Church, the body of Christ.

    Of the Jews, the Lord saves a remnant through Christ, then and today, while the rest fell for the reconciliation of the world, us. God is not done with Israel; their return to God through faith in Christ will be like life from the dead, Romans 11:15.

    Have we become ignorant of the mystery of their blindness in part and become wise in our own conceits until the fullness, meaning, completion, fulfillment, or the total of the Gentiles? When will that be? Tomorrow, years from now. Are we ready? Are we looking for things that are not coming?

    Is our faith strong enough that we are willing to face death? There are many teachings out there, but only one truth. Deception is thick; we are in spiritual warfare, Colossians 2:8, 1 John 4:1. Discernment is critical in spiritual warfare; it enables believers to differentiate between truth and falsehood, particularly in the context of teachings and prophecies.

    It is found in prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus said in John 16:13-14 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

    GiGi and Chris have answered well. There was a transition, but the same gospel and one body of Christ-that is, the Church. Galatians 4:4 says, "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law." Jesus came first for the lost sheep of Israel and to fulfill the law and the prophets.

    Jesus had to live a perfect, sinless life under the law to bring in the new everlasting covenant. As prophesied, the new covenant had to be offered to the Jews first before it was offered to the Gentiles, as seen in Romans 1:16. We see that when the time came to go to the Gentiles, as in Acts 7:54-60, they plugged their ears and killed Stephen. Philip was the first to carry the gospel to the Samaritans, as in Acts 8. Paul's conversion is detailed in Acts 9, and Peter's dream and the sending to Cornelius are in Acts 10. Salvation has always been a gift of God through faith by the grace of God. John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9,

    How do we begin? The 7-year tribulation is taken from the 490-year prophecy in Daniel 9:25-27. The he in Daniel 9:27 is said to be the antichrist, who will make a 3.5-year peace treaty with Israel. Midway through this week, he will cause the abomination that makes desolate, leading to 3.5 years of great tribulation.

    In verse 25, it states there will be 69 weeks from the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah, 483 years. This was fulfilled when Jesus was baptized and anointed with the Holy Spirit, as seen in Matthew 3:13-17. Jesus confirms His identity as the Messiah in Luke 3:16-21, and John denies being the Christ but speaks of Jesus in John 1:33-34.

    Daniel 9:26 states that after sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off. The 7 weeks, or 49 years, had already passed, a period during which the temple and part of the wall were rebuilt. Jesus' ministry was 3.5 years, so His crucifixion was 69 weeks plus 3.5 years, totaling 486.5 years of the 490-year prophecy, leaving only 3.5 years of the 490-year prophecy.

    The people of the prince who shall come are those who will destroy the city and the sanctuary. This refers to Titus, the prince, and the Roman army, the people, who destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70 for their abominations and rejection.

    In verse 27, it is in the middle of the 70th week, Jesus' crucifixion causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease, Hebrews 9:12. During the remaining 3.5 years, Jesus was confirming the covenant to Israel through His apostles, as seen in Matthew 15:24, to the Jew first, Romans 1:16, which ended when the leaders of Jerusalem stopped their ears, Acts 7:54-60.

    It says, "for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate." The he in verse 27 refers to Jesus, not an antichrist. The leaders of Jerusalem are the ones who spread the abominations, and Jesus made it desolate, as described in Matthew 23:37-38. Read the entire chapter of Matthew 23.

    Further thoughts on the current time and recent events

    It seems clear to me that we are to warn in general to "flee the wrath that is to come" ( Romans 1:16-17 but also found in the Gospels). The current state of deviancy has of course degenerated since the family structure itself was attacked at the source back in the post World War 2 generation. The site History of English has this to say on a popular quote

    The phrase ignorance is bliss originates from a poem by Thomas Gray, called Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College published in 1742.

    We are all; therefore either complicit ourselves or surrounded by others who have watched families torn apart by divorce gradually head towards a lifestyle of lasciviousness; drug use; and then the embracing of what God warned about in Romans 1 which brought about the demise of other great civilizations in the past. This started off with disobedience to parents to a large degree which of course stemmed from the permissive; and passive advice which was followed by the psychologists and social influencers of the time especially in the 60s and 70s. At this point those who are truly revolutionary and innovative are those who tenaciously hold to Biblical values. Again; as I often do I warn about making our heritage and history the sole base for these ideals; it is one thing to embrace what our laws and Constitution proclaim as freedoms which we paid for by the blood of past soldiers paying the ultimate price; another to put all of our heart and soul into an institution of man no matter how close its history parallels scripture; because critics can always find exceptions; hypocricy and the like to our logic.

    It appears that we are at the point where our institutions and government are never going to be able to fully control the anarchy that is the fruit of generations of rebellion. It comes through those who are willing to take a stand for the truth; sadly no doubt there will be more tragedies; let us keep in prayer

    I have gone through your recent posts Lbooth1955 and am in agreement with your eschatological timeline, and particularly that the Church at Christ's coming for her, will be taken to Heaven (as the Scriptures you cited show), escaping God's Judgements that will be poured out on an evil, Christ-rejecting World. The Great Tribulation/God's Wrath is against the unrepentant sinful unregenerate men, not against the Church that has been cleansed and purified through His Son. If the Church should also have to bear God's Wrath, which comes to the unbelieving, then a case of double jeopardy would be in play, which would go against the Righteousness of God.

    Yet, the question that I deal with is: if the Great Tribulation ( Matthew 24:21) and the Day of God's Wrath ( 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Romans 1:18) are different events, but pertaining to Daniel's 70th week, is it possible that they are actually part of the same action of God in Heaven? When I read 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8, I sense that this period of time starts with the removal of the Restrainer and the revelation of the 'man of sin'. Even though we don't see that great outpouring of God's Wrath upon the world ( 2 Peter 3:7-12, and others) leading to the destruction of the world and evil men, I feel that God's Wrath in its early stages of revelation when He removes His Restrainer that has thus far held the world to some degree of normalcy and decency, though now rapidly degenerating.

    I take the example of a dam, holding back a large volume of water from passing to the other side. When water is to be released, the release valves are opened incrementally letting out a little water at a time, or else there would be catastrophic consequences to the inhabitants on the other side. Likewise, when God's 'valves' begin to open (i.e. His Wrath begins as He removes His Restrainer & all that brings), the world might know that their time is short & the little suffering that life threw at them, will be insurmountably horrendous.     Sorry for the delayed reply.

    It's good to hear from you. Different understandings of this subject may disagree with mine. I'm not sure I can fully answer your questions; others may have more information, but I will share my best understanding. Many believe the great white throne judgment is only for the condemned, but I think there will be both groups, as you mentioned, with the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25. We also have Daniel 12:2, which seems to refer to the same resurrection, and John 5:28-29, where the ones who did good and those who did evil are in the same resurrection.

    This second resurrection includes the rest of the dead who were not in the first resurrection, as well as all the people who lived and died during Jesus' 1,000-year reign over the earth. Some also lived before Jesus and after His ascension, who never heard of Jesus or the gospel. But that is not an excuse, Romans 1:18-20.

    I believe Romans 2:11-16 is about the judgment of those who have not heard the gospel. You may not agree, but it tells us that everyone has a conscience, referred to as the heart, Proverbs 4:23. Everyone has an awareness of God, which guides us morally in discerning right from wrong. Those of us in Christ who are in the first resurrection have been given the Holy Spirit, which offers us even more guidance, and God and Christ can dwell within us, with our sins covered by the blood of Jesus.

    It says everyone will be judged based on what is written in the books, according to their works. This is a book of deeds listing good and bad. It may be the same as the book of remembrance; I'm not sure. I would think the book of the law would be opened, Deuteronomy 30:10-15. Some may say the book of the covenant is the same as the book of the law, and the Book of Life; they may be more, but I'm not sure. Those in this judgment not found in the most important book, the Book of Life, have their part in the Lake of Fire.

    My question in regard to verse

    Revelation 20:12

    How many books were opened?

    Where is the reference to sins we have committed?

    and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12-13

    God will judge personal sin. THE "LEFT HAND PROPLE"

    The Bible is clear that individuals who practice sin will be judged. For example, there's a large laundry list of sin in Romans 1:29-31.

    (29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,"

    (30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,"

    (31)Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:"

    Paul clearly states that God will judge those who practice those things.

    Romans 2:2

    "But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things."

    Romans 2:3

    "And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

    Revelation 21:8

    "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

    This portion of scripture

    also gives us a list of those who practice sins and what will become of them.

    Likewise, Hebrews tells us God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

    Hebrews 13:4

    "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

    To top it all off, Jesus himself says the one who rejects Him will be judged.

    John 12:48

    "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY.

    So the conclusion is unavoidable-God is Good

    All of Jesus's life was about fulfilling the law and prophecy; it is to the Jew first and then the rest of the world, Romans 1:16, Romans 2:9-10. Jesus clearly said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and He instructed His disciples to do the same, Matthew 10:6, Matthew 15:24. Jesus spoke to them in parables so they would not understand and hear, and be healed, Matthew 13:13-15.

    You are correct that, as a nation, they would have been able to receive Jesus as the Messiah if they had repented, and then the kingdom could have been established at that time. However, God knew their hearts. They were expecting Jesus to set up the kingdom at that time, including the apostles. They asked Jesus if He was going to establish it then, Acts 1:6.

    Their final rejection is shown when they cried out loudly and covered their ears, Acts 7:57. Though many disagree, this also fulfills the last seven years in the prophecy of Daniel 9, which many associate with the end times and the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church. This gospel of grace is offered to Jew or Greek, and unto the whole world.

    There is no difference between the Jew and any other person of any nation, Romans 10:12. It took the apostles some time to understand this, as shown by Peter's reluctance and his dream. It may not be in our Bible, but I believe they all understood God's plan. This Kingdom will be established when Jesus returns, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, Romans 11:25.

    (Part 2):

    Now, those who are not receptive, those whose hearts are not open to the truth, God continues to give them opportunities to come to Christ, but if they continue to reject the testimony, eventually God will give them over to a reprobate mind, a mind that allows them to continue to reject. Once that happens, there is no hope for that person.

    This is why I was unable to connect the dots on what you were saying about this individual and using Romans 1:28. You say that those who knew this person considered him/her to be a Christian but if you read Romans Chapter 1 beginning at Verse 18, this person who seemed to be a Christian doesn't fit the description of a person who God gives over to a reprobate mind. If you go beyond Verse 28, it gives a long list of things which describe the things they were involved in. Also, they rejected the truth from the beginning and continued in their rejection, and the outcome is given to us in Verse 28.

    Anyway, we stand in disagreement on whether or not salvation can be lost. I don't believe I will lose mine, and it has nothing to do with me being a good or righteous person because I have no righteousness of my own. But as long as I have Christ, I have righteousness because He is righteous. And He will never leave me, impossible!

    If you don't mind, can you please give me your understanding of 1 John 2:19? Who are the "us" and "they" in this verse, and what is this verse saying to you? Thanks, brother!

    Brother Jesse,

    We are not far apart. First, to answer your question, will I walk away? The answer is NO! I know Romans 1:28 didn't fit, but it reflects what I was thinking of someone I knew when I wrote it. Only God knows the heart of man. What was in my mind was a person I knew, and anyone who knew them would say this person was a true Christian.

    This person lost a child, and they completely changed. Over time, they turned into the opposite of who they were, and this verse fits what I saw happen to this person. This is one of the reasons I believe someone can fall away; only God knows if that is what happened. John 6:44, we may see this as the gospel today, the words of God are preached, which draws people, but that is not coming to Christ himself.

    Then we have Matthew 22:14: Many are called, but few are chosen. Some who hear will fully embrace it and be accepted by God, while others will not. We are drawn or called, but is it not up to us to go and believe?

    How do we understand verses like Hebrews 3:12-14? This is directed at those in Christ. 1 Timothy 4:1-2, My understanding, this goes with 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and Revelation 13:7-10; here is the patience of the saints. This is a true falling away, John 1.5:4-6; we must continue to abide in Him. Romans 11:19-22, we can be cut off.

    James 1:12 is another blessed is a man that endureth, if he does, he will receive a crown of life. As in Revelation 2:10, faithful unto death. I respect you, but to me, there are too many warnings to endure and overcome until our death. We cannot ignore that; we must encourage each other to stay strong in our faith.

    Not to spark another debate, I believe the great falling away is connected to when the beast rises and the persecution begins. Many think they will be taken out, but are not; they will be here. My understanding is Christ will never forsake us; the only thing that can separate us from Him is us.

    My dear brother, this comes from Romans Chapter 1. The phrase "God gave them over to a reprobate mind" comes from Romans 1:28."

    But who are the "them" that this is speaking of. When I read Romans Chapter 1, beginning at Romans 1:18 which leads up to Verse 28, I see who the ones are that God gives to a reprobate mind, and it doesn't seem to line up with the context you put it in.

    It's clear to see that those who God gives over to a reprobate mind are not saved believers who "decide to become unrepentant and disobedient choose to walk in the world and not the Spirit," but people who have been shown the truth and choose to reject it. These are people who reject Christ and will always reject Him.

    The word reprobate means to reject. When a person continues to reject God, even when they are given every opportunity to receive Him and they still continue to reject, those are the ones God gives over to a reprobate mind. The context you put it in does not seem to match up with what I am reading in Chapter 1 of Romans.

    If you take this from Romans 1:18, what this is showing us is the doctrine of condemnation. If there is anything you see from Romans 1-18 through Romans 1:28 that describes a person who is saved being given over by God to a reprobate mind, please show me how you come to this conclusion.

    Ronald, I thank you also for this discussion. And yes, I agree that this is a controversial subject. And yes, I can make sense of what you wrote, but only if I see it through the mind of those who believe salvation can be lost!

    May the Lord continue to lead us and minister to our hearts and minds and cause us to be obedient to Him until the day He brings us home.

    More on spiritual rewards

    Ugh got cut off again. I am determined whenever possible to rewrite things when this happens even if it is the stupidity of my pinkie finger pressing the wrong button for the umpteenth time...

    Where was I? Oh yeah Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Romans 1:24. This is the END of the concept I was alluding to; namely the prosperity crowd out there whose leadership like Ananias and Sapphira aren't wiped out due to covetousness and outright lies as to where the money is going. I won't name names here a bit of research is evident. My point here is that they are left largely to their own devices; deceiving and being deceived ( 2 Tim. 3:13). I am sort of going backwards here but ultimately something that is innocuous like a piece of paper called cash (spoiler alert; in paper form it is backed by and worth nothing) is to be used for His glory not our own covetousness. That is something I am considering as I have been able to make some money buying and selling silver coins as of late. It is wise to hold on to some of these items; but the admonitions in James about the silver and gold cankering in the last days should be a warning to us all; if not in the Tribulation perhaps before that with a worldwide currency it will be either illegal to own it or it will be declared worthless in a worldwide monetary standard. Food for thought...

    Luke 16:12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

    Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

    Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

    If we save money and increment deliberately toward missions; childhood adoption and other needs God can bless it.

    Dear Richard,

    I have been reading all of your posts and do find them helpful. Just haven't seemed to need to respond to them. But I encourage you to keep on posting. You just don't know whom they will be timely and very helpful.

    As to your Dad, it may be helpful to ask him some questions on spiritual truths such a what he thinks about Jesus and His sacrifice for us. This may help you to proceed further having gained some knowledge of his ideas concerning our Lord and if he can respond rationally. If he is combative and angry in response to your questions, then know that he is not readied to consider such truths in a reasonable way. If he answers that he does not really know what he thinks is true, then the door is open for you to explain truth to him. Beginning with the gospel is important because of what Romans 1:16 says about the gospel being the power of God unto salvation.

    Concerning your Christian brother, how blessed he is that you are helping him. I would suggest that you become up to date on your local laws concerning eviction from your home if that comes to be necessary.

    I am glad that your have been blessed with an inheritance to be able to purchase this property and cabin. May it serve your needs well.

    Because God told us not to make images of Him. If you believe, why not obey what He commands as much as you can? We are frail beings and our righteousness is as filthy rags without Jesus Christ, so the things we can do to please Him, shouldn't we be concerned with obedience and do those things? This is my last entry because brethren should not strive with one another. I simply wanted to hear your views on my previous questions. We want to be right, but the only way to do that is to follow God's commandments as they are written. It is not an accusation, but the truth. Don't we want to follow truth? A picture is an image. I enjoy your commentary. Why can't I ask questions for clarity as I learn? See verse 23 below:

    Trust and dependence on the Son of God, believing in His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection, Romans 5:8-10. Titus 1:2 states that God has promised eternal life to us from before creation, but it is our future hope in Jesus through faith, as seen in Romans 1:16. This hope has been established for us in Jesus before time; this hope is eternal life. It is not seen or enjoyed now; that is not hope, Romans 8:24-25.

    Is Jesus praying for just the disciples or also future believers? This was determined before the foundation of the world, as we see in John 14:3, and Paul confirms it in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. We will see the glory of Christ that the Father has given Him when He returns to establish the kingdom.

    Ephesians 1:4 tells us that God chose us in Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world, and salvation was part of God's plan. The word " chose, " from the Greek word eklego, means to pick out for oneself, to choose, elect, or select. God's plan and purpose for humanity was for us to have eternal life in Jesus Christ.

    1 Peter 1:19-20 explains that Jesus, through His obedience to the Father and His sinless life as a lamb without blemish and spot, shed His blood for us. This was foreordained before the foundation of the world. The word " foreordained " is derived from the Greek word proginosko, meaning to know beforehand, representing the foreknowledge of God, a plan manifested in the last times for us. Various verses refer to the foundation of the world, meaning from the creation of the earth and humanity.

    Matthew 25:34 speaks of the glory in God's plan, in the mind of God, encompassing all things from beginning to end, something we as humans cannot fully comprehend. We see the culmination of this verse in Revelation 20:11-15.

    For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness

    Seems to agree with the OT verse I gave you. God does not change. But He does work according to His own pleasure, will, and purpose in the OT, NT, and in the time from the ascension through the end of times.

    Here are other relevant verses from the NT that speak of the wrath of God being upon the wicked. I think this is present tense from an English perspective, but the Greek may be different.

    I think that God is always the same in every way. He is true to His attributes in the OT as well as the NT. And will continue to be true to Himself in this age.

    Giannis, I stand by what I have shared with you because I believe that Scriptures teach that God both hates wicked sinners and also desires that many will turn to Him and be saved, but not all will do so because not all have been elected to salvation since before creation.

    Ephesians 5:5-6

    For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

    Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

    Colossians 3:5-6

    Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

    Brother Giannis. Thank you for reminding us about our often quick judgement of others, when we need to first look at ourselves & take stock of our own sins & inadequacies before condemning others in theirs.

    However, I would seek your impressions or understanding of the passage you quoted ( Romans 2:1-4) and also 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. I believe the latter one commands the Church to judge anyone who is "called a brother" & deal with him for his sins, by separation from him and excommunication. Yet, Romans 2:1-4 seems to denounce any judgement, knowing that the same sins are committed and we all stand under God's Judgement.

    So, the problem I see here is, to whom is the apostle referring to in Romans? In chapter 1, he clearly is referring to the unsaved Gentiles ( Romans 1:18-32), showing their idolatry, lusts, & many sins. But when the apostle continues on in chapter 2, it now seems that the unsaved Jew is being spoken of, as those who are now hypocrites, judging others when their own sins are exposed. His use of "O Man, whosoever thou art that judgest" (v1) and "Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law" (v17), indicates that Paul is now speaking to/about the unsaved Jew, who are no different to the Gentile, in their hypocrisy & unjust judgement.

    The point I'm making here is, given those Scripture portions for consideration, I wonder what the limitations of the Church or even an individual believer are in this matter of judgement. Clearly, the elders have to continually make judgements against others (whether they choose to do so by identifying them, counseling, warning, or expulsion), and we too as individual believers need to recognize sinning wayward congregants, therefore making some type of judgement against them (whether done internally in our hearts or not). Maybe judgement is allowed after all, yet it must always be a 'righteous judgement', without hypocrisy & knowing that we still have to answer to the Lord for our thoughts, words & actions.

    This spirit is not the person, nor is it immortal or eternal, nor does it have a conscious existence when the person dies. Those of us who have the Holy Spirit in us, Romans 8:11, But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you, this is the Spirit of God, for those in Jesus Christ, this happens at resurrection.

    In Psalms 16:7 David said the LORD has given him counsel; this is his spirit communicating with God, as Paul calls it in 2 Corinthians 4:16 the inward man. Peter describes it as the hidden man of the heart, 1 Peter 3:4. When God communicates with us, it is not with our mind; it's a Spirit-to-spirit communication.

    God gives the human a spirit, some believe it is at conception, Zechariah 12:1, Isaiah 12:5. We know He takes it back at the time of death, Ecclesiastes 12:7. Psalm 104:29, thou takest away their breath, they die, the Hebrew word for breath is ruach, it also means spirit. James 2:26, the body without the spirit is dead. All consciousness ends when we die. Psalm 6:5, Job 14:12-14, Job 17:13-16. Psalm 115:17. Ecclesiastes 9:5-10. We sleep in death until resurrection day, the day of redemption. 1 Corinthians 15:51-54, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15.

    The Bible tells us a spirit can be good, bad, or broken, Psalm 34:18, God cares for us and wants to help mend our brokenness, Isaiah 41:10. When we do not have rule over our spirit, we can go so bad that God turns one over to a reprobate mind as we see in Romans 1:18-32, the door is shut. With God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit, we in our spirit grow in our faith and have comfort in His presence.

    Guilt by Association Part 2

    10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

    This section of 3 verses pretty much sums up what culture is promoting these days. To be delivered from sin and live a new life doesn't mean we no longer sin but we are affected by the grieving of the Spirit when we turn our backs on God and don't live a lifestyle characterized in this manner again. The question as to whether we are dealing with a brother who is backslidden or someone deceived as to being saved at all means of course we have to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith; again that is another topic.

    Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

    Here we see what is sadly often the case; those calling themselves Christians in order to increase their own financial gain cowtow to those who are obviously in rebellion and themselves often are deceived while deceiving others ( 2 Timothy 3:13).

    How sad that the opposite doesn't occur more; that those who do believe the truth invite the lame; blind; poor and other miserable wretches of society to eat with them and spend time with these individuals out of concern for their souls. It is much more likely among individual parishioners than pastoral leadership in most places today; for if their isn't financial incentive for many in leadership there are ego perks involved; whether in meetings with other Pastors or doing community service.

    When we work, we earn a salary for what we did, if we are not a believer, then we are going to be judged by our salary of sins.

    Apostle Paul was a Pharisee that was well educated in Hebrew and Greek. Apostle Paul was a blasphemer and had Jews killed for believing in Jesus, but he did it ignorantly.

    1 Timothy 1:13

    Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly inunbelief.

    Jesus Christ died on the cross for all our sins , why are we praying repentance for our sins for Salvation , when He took all our sins and washed it with His own blood. We are calling God a lier if we repent of our sins for Salvation. Repentance is changing our minds in the direction of God.

    Colossians 2:13

    And you, being dead in yoursins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven youalltrespasses;

    Jesus Christ died for all our sins for our Salvation by just believing.

    God's ways are the only way . We tend to forget that God is our priority.

    Proverbs 14:12

    Adam was Eve story was the start of worldwide death for all of us. Adam's way got him into trouble with God. Adam knew if he eats of the forbidden tree, he would die spiritually.

    Genesis 2:16-17

    16And theLordGod commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

    17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

    We can not use our ways to get to Heaven, it will fail. We have to know we are lost and born a sinner.

    Romans 3:12

    They are all gone out of theway, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

    God will only direct His way for us.

    1 Thessalonians 3:11

    Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct ourwayunto you.

    God will always point our hearts to Jesus Christ.

    2 Thessalonians 3:5

    And the Lorddirectyour hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

    The only way to Salvation is to believe God's word.

    Good Morning.

    As an add on to the discussion with Fuji, Ronald, Chris, Giannis, S. Spencer and any who are following, I was contemplating the assertion of Unitarians of Jesus being only human and if anyone who is only human can ever live a completely sinless life and even if one was born without a sinful nature as Jesus was.

    This is what I am thinning on this.

    First of all, Adam and Eve were created without a sinful nature and they sinned. Satan and the other angels were created without a sinful nature and they sinned. This is how God ordained things to happen in His eternal decrees concerning creation, redemption, glorification. Romans 1:26-32, 11:37

    The Scriptures affirm that every single human have sinned. Rom. 3:10-12, 23; Ps. 14:1-3. 53:1-3. Ecc. 7:20

    The Scriptures say that only God is altogether good and sinless. Lk 18:19; Mk 10:18; Ps. 25:8; 1 chr. 16:34

    With this evidence of Scripture, I will say that I believe that there never has been nor will there ever will be any person who is only human who will remain sinless in their earthly life. God has decreed this to be so.

    In the case of Jesus, He was truly human and truly sinless, but He was not only human as Scriptures attest ( John 1:1-3, 14 and many other Scriptures-see discussion about Fuji's questions on this matter). Scriptures state unequivocally that Jesus is God made flesh. John 1:14.

    I believe that Jesus, pre-existed His earthly life eternally as God the Son without beginning at any time (Because God is always eternal in existence) Rom. 1:20, Ps. 90:2, Is. 40:8, 28

    I also believe that Jesus is one single Person, the eternal divine Son of God, who took on a human nature at His conception to live a perfect life, sacrifice His life for the sins of the world, and through His death, He took upon Himself God's wrath for sin in our place, and supplied salvation from sin, death, and hell from His life and death and triumphant resurrection from the dead to ascend back to heaven. see Pt. 2

    Jesse, I like your illustration of wine and water. Apostle Paul talks about meat offer to idols, we have to make our decision in Christ Jesus how to handle in Faith.

    Let me tell you, wine makers will not admit to adding water, but some do, it's all about adding profit to the bottom line.

    Apostle Paul's gospel was constantly being added by other false apostles and followers . They wanted to add circumcision and works.

    Galatians 1:7

    Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and wouldpervertthe gospel of Christ.

    It's all about Jesus Christ faith in his grace that we believe for Salvation.

    Romans 1:17

    For therein is the righteousness of God revealed fromfaithtofaith: as it is written, The just shall live byfaith.

    Romans 3:28

    Therefore we conclude that a man is justified byfaithwithout the deeds of the law.

    Romans 4:16

    I know that you think I'm making all this up, but the truth is, Apostle Paul is a special person to Jesus Christ and we should take notice. I know you might have knowledge , but God hide secrets that only Him will He reveal.

    Deuteronomy 29:29

    ThesecretthingsbelonguntotheLordour God: but thosethingswhich are revealedbelonguntous and to our children for ever, that we may do allthewords of this law.

    Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 this is the only way to Salvation for today and its believing only if we Follow the epistles of Apostle Paul.
