Very nicely explained by Henry in 1710. This chapter speaks so loud to me that there is a need to share. First, the fact that we all know in Acts what happened in Damascus when Paul was converted. Here Paul uses the words to tell the readers in Spiritual way that He is in fact chosen by Jesus Christ 1:1 and became a servant of Christ 1:10. Paul even certified that he received the gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 not from man, but it is indeed by the revelation of Jesus Christ 1 :10-11. To certify something is indeed really deep in any professions. You investigate, you observe, you speak the truth, you have proven without a shadow of a doubt, you interviews people involved, you have all strong evidence, you even travel to a place to find that true evidence, you rely only on facts and the person that has integrity to tell truth. I guess you get the gist. The fact that he went to Arabia (Mt. Sinai) 1:17 God must have told Paul something that only Paul knows. Remember 2 Corinthians 12:1-4? How can you not think Paul is the 12th Apostle with this evidence? That is why 1 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study. Go figure and look at other Bible other than KJV. They removed the word "study". Folks I am not kidding you. There is something real God is telling us today. I would not lie either about this because I sense the urgency to tell this forum for whatever reason God only knows. Anyway, Paul then saw Peter for 15 days 1:18 and imagined the conversations then between Peter and Paul. In Acts Peter is telling everybody WHO they crucified was God. Then Paul revelation was that blood of Jesus Christ will saved the whole world if you believe and trust and have faith on that alone Romans 3:25. Not of works just by faith Ephesians 2:8-9. My comment is that salvation is conditional whether people believe it or not, because its what the Bible says. It's full of calls to action and challenging us to change our behavior. Most people will not be saved Matthew 7:13. Salvation is with grace but is only for believers/followers- a choice that each person must make. One way to summarize this action appears to be genuine belief and faith in Jesus Christ. John 3:16. That is an action and choice.

So, if someone does not believe, one can presume the unbeliever will not be saved. This already "offends" a lot of people, because some want to justify themselves in their own mind while doing the bare minimum they assume God wants. Some have been deceived into believing obeying God is "bad." But believing is only one of many action verbs the Bible challenges us to do. Other actions fall under this category of genuine active belief and following Jesus too. All these verses in the Bible are true and are equally important. Some like to cherry pick one, but ignore others and assume they don't apply, but they all apply and are true and are God's word.

There are many more. Some falsely assume by obeying God they are doing 'works' and that is 'bad', therefore, obeying God is 'bad'. No, that's not what the Bible says, and obeying doesn't mean you're saved by works or that people who obey believe that.

My last comment is that James and Paul are consistent. Some assume Paul was anti-works, but only if you cherry pick a few verses and ignore large parts of his book can that conclusion be drawn. Paul was very much pro-obedience as the following verses demonstrate:

Let's talk about grace and works

What do we mean that we are saved by God's grace? We mean that salvation was offered to us through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. When is this salvation received by people? When we repent for the sins we have done and ask for God's forgiveness. If there is no repentance, is salvation still granted to people? No it is not. Again, in a condition of unrepentance is God's grace available to people? The answer is again no.

About water baptism. Is it a command from God? Yes it is. There are many verses throughout the Bible about that, I can not go through them but if you look to past discussions about water baptism you will find a lot of stuff, it has been discussed a lot lately. So if one does not want to be water baptized, is it considered disobedience to God's will? Is disobedience a sin? Is this sin forgiven if one doesn't repent and corrects himself? Is grace still available to him as long as one is in disobedience and unrepentance? We can agree, I think, that the answer is always no.

Is it considered as a man's work when obeying to God's commandments?

John 6:28-29 "Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent"

So Jesus calls it a work to believe in Him, so what do you think of that, is it necessary for salvaion (to do the work of believing)? Yes it is, also obeying God's rules is necessary for salvation, whether one calls it a work or not.

John 15:9-10 "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. if ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love"

And I would like you to analyze to me the following verses:

If we do not learn how to rightly divide the word of truth, we will be lost understanding the chain of events from the time God brought the Hebrews from the Land of Egypt until The Christ Lord Jesus died on the cross up to our time today which is approximately 2,000 years. I do not mind repeating to all that the Bible is a complete book Revelation 19:13 for us today to prepare ourselves and others. I pray all to be saved. We cannot have the people caught unaware of Matthew 24:37. To rightly divide is to know for us today what we need to do. So I will say that the 11 apostles messages are important for the physical Jews Matthew 10:5-7 at the end time; and there are verses in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John that pertains to a spiritual Christians of today.

God had chosen Paul to be His vessel so we can read and believe not in vain. Study the Book of Romans to Philemon because he was the Last and believe it or not the 12th Apostle Galatians 1:1, Acts 9:15, Acts 13:47, Acts 22:21, Roman's 11:13, Ephesians 3:8, 1 Timothy 2:7, Galatians 1:16. After Jesus died He says Hebrews 9:14-17. Then you are Ephesians 1:12-14, 2 Timothy 2:19 and 2 Corinthians 1:22. Therefore, 1 Corinthians 9:2 just like Romans 15:28. Ephesians 4:30 and sing Psalms 49:8, 111:9, 130:7. In conclusion my fellow-believers, Paul is sealed 1 Corinthians 9:2 by God to be our apostle today. Weneedtoputtheworkof Paul not in vain Galatians 6:11. Paul tells us Romans 2:16, Romans 16:25, 2 Timothy 2:8. And the gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Then we are sealed Ephesians 1:13. Perhaps you are not understanding me because Revelation 18:4, Proverbs 20:1, Roman's 7:11, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Galatians 6:7, 1 Timothy 2:14, 2 Timothy 3:13, Titus 3:3, and lastly Revelation 18:23. I agree that some perceive these as conflicting verses, but just because some assume something is contradictory does not make it so.

Why can't both verses be true?

Ephesians 2:8-9 is true that we are saved by grace alone through faith and James 2:17 is also true that faith without works is dead. Why exactly can't these both be true? The entire chapter of James 2 already explains this. For instance James 2:18 "...shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." Isn't it possible that faith and belief is like an overall umbrella and the fruit are good deeds and works that can flow through as a result of genuine faith? And if no works, then it would be like the parable of the sower in Luke 8. The scriptures do not contradict each other.

Romans 2 also explains this. Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

People seem to like to cherry pick and pluck out only Ephesians 2:8-9 and ignore James 2:17. Or, some may pluck out only James 2:17 and ignore Ephesians 2:8-9. But the reality is it is both. Both are God's word and both are true. All of the scriptures must be taken cohesively in context.

I believe this can happen with other topics too. For instance, yes, someone can just read John 3:16, and conclude that only "believing" is all someone needs. While true, it's assumed it's genuine belief is active and would also include Acts 2:38, which introduces more actions such as repenting, and being baptized. These are not contradictions as some may assume. They instead compliment each other and are both true. People can get a simple understanding with light reading of broad statements and a deeper understanding by deeper study. I think this is by design. Some believe the Bible is a living Word of God and that the more we read that God can supernaturally reveal more and more insights that we didn't notice the first time.

Predestination: Concluding thoughts

Lord willing; this commentary will be helpful for those who really haven't seen the repeated themes of the unity of the Godhead; and the predetermined "elect" group who are chosen for Christ to be revealed; and who therefore will respond to show saving faith. A major point that I tried to bring up in earlier chapters was that there is always a corresponding interaction going both ways; so that confession of faith and all of man's actions prompted by the Spirit are simultaneous actions. KNOWING us according to Matthew 7:23 is part of saving faith; hence the absence indicates we are tares. Our soul testifies with His Spirit ( Romans 8:16) that we are God's children.

None of the contradicts the necessity of confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts that Christ is Lord ( Romans 10:9). We are asked to repent; but it is He who grants the gift of repentance ( Romans 2:4) and this also has a group of people in mind (the Jews as a whole who come to faith) in Acts 5:31 and the Gentiles in Acts 11:18. We still our to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5-6). All good fruits therefore come from the source of God; and are evidences of saving faith ( Matt. 7:17). We need to remember that God chastises all He loves ( Hebrews 12:6 etal); and therefore He prunes back so even more fruit is produced ( John 15:1-2). He is doing the work therefore; our WORKS are merely the external evidence that indeed He is working from the inside out. These have been prepared for us from before the foundation of the world ( Eph. 2:10).

The other doctrines such as God's sovereignty; our totally depraved nature; and perseverance of the saints are covered in many scriptures and can be covered in other studies. As far as free will is concerned; God accomplishes His purposes through the vicissitudes of man; and the wiles of Satan and all his minions. To not submit to our Creator is folly ( Psalm 14:1; Psalm 2:2; Rev. 19)

Gods love and goodness. Too many times I've heard or seen or see written if you do this or that or don't confess all your

sins or even if your born again were sinners, I don't see that biblically. For example you can push all the hell fire and brimstone

want but Romans 2:4 says it is the goodness of God which leads to repentance and john 3:17 God sent his son Not to condemn

thee world but that the world [inhabitants] might be saved. Another point when we are born again we become saints or

seperated ones from the world by holy spirit I am no longer a sinner that does not mean I don't sin that is saying I'm not in that

state of dead in trespasses and sins. In the book of Ephesians the word sinner is never used because the saints thats us

are viewed from Gods spiritual point of view. We have been made by jesus Christ the righteousness of God in Him. Again that

that does not imply we don't sin Romans chapter 5 +7 cover that. To walk in this we need to be more God inside minded.

About resurrection It seems to me there are 3 of them.

1. A pretribulation resurrection during the rapture of the saints to meet Jesus in the air. Are OT sains included? There are two opinions (I dont know which is right). The first opinion says they will be included. Those who believe that use the verse in Hebrews 11:40 "God having provided some better thing for us (the christians), that they without us should not be (the OT saints) made perfect. Others says that only the Bride of Christ, the church, will be caught up. Verses about the Marriage of Christ with His Bride church are used by those who have the second opinion.

2. A resurrection of all those that will not accept the mark of the beast and will be slaughtered during the reign of the antichrist. They will be resurrected just before the second coming of Christ, just before the fight of Armagedon. This is obvious since they will reign on earth together with Jesus for 1000 years.

3.The final resurrection of all the rest of people that died thought the centuaries, just before the Final Judgement.

Now, what is your belief about people to whom Christ was never preached (like muslims, budhists etc)? I believe that they will be judged (and be saved) according to their good life/good works as their conscious says to them. Romans 2:11-16

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Starting with verse 9 in Genesis 17 we see God establishes the Abrahamic covenant and with physical circumcision. This covenant was of blood from the male and established at that time (during the days of Abraham there was no law yet, no commandments) this being an early way of raising blood up. Now, thank goodness Christ Jesus was that Blood for us (especially for us men) as His Blood that he shed for us once we accept His Grace by Faith; this then circumcision is by the heart. The Apostle Paul explained it like this:

Romans 2:25

For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

Romans 2:26

Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

Romans 2:27

And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

We see in Matt. 10:6 Jesus told His disciples not to go to the Gentiles and Matt. 15:24 He confirms He first came for the lost sheep of Israel. Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets.

Why did Jesus say, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel"? Other scripture also says the Jew first, Luke 24:47 Acts 3:25-26 Romans 1:16 Romans 2:9-10 and more, for what reason? To fulfill prophecy.

The Prophecy is the 70-week prophecy that many places the last week in the future. This prophecy was for the house of Israel/Judea and Jerusalem, Daniel 9:24 and these 70 weeks were determined to finish the transgression, make an end of sins, make reconciliation for iniquity, bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

From when Jesus was baptized until He was crucified was 3 1/2 years, John recorded the Passovers Jesus went to and Jesus was crucified on the fourth. These 3 1/2 years Jesus was confirming the covenant, to save the lost sheep of the house of Israel. The entire prophecy was about the coming of the Messiah that the leaders rejected.

Verse 25 tells the time the Messiah would come, verse 26 tells the Messiah would be cut off and the destruction of the city and temple, and in verse 27 he in this verse is the Messiah and the week of confirming the covenant, in the middle of the week 3 1/2 years Jesus cut off/ crucifixion, the final sacrifice, ending the animal sacrificial law. In the last half of the week, Jesus through His apostles confirmed the covenant in Jerusalem.

We see in Acts 7 the key verse is Acts 7:57, the cried out and stopped their ears with one accord, then the great persecution of the church that ended the 70-week prophecy. Shortly after Peter had his dream and Jesus appeared to Saul/Paul and the gospel was sent to the Gentiles the branch broke off but it will be grafted back in.

This is short but may you study it, I am sure many will disagree.

On Romans 2:11 onwards. The apostle is writing about God not showing respect (or, partiality) between Jews & Gentiles. Those who have sinned without having the Law (i.e. Gentiles), will perish not having received the Law (God's Laws to Israel). Likewise, those sinning having the Law (i.e. Jews) will be judged by that Law (& of course, they will fail, for the Law made no one righteous, but only showed their sinfulness). Only the doers of the Law will be justified. So, what Law(s) can be kept perfectly to justify us before God? None, for all have sinned - & the Law only revealed the sin & extent of that sinful condition to the Jew.

Only faith in Jesus can save both Jew & Gentile. Those who keep God's Laws acceptably, are those who have the Holy Spirit & who are living out their lives through Him & by His Power ( Romans 8:1; Galatians 5:25). Both Jew & Gentile who are saved through Christ, are no longer bound to the Law that only brought death, but live in the power & joy of the Holy Spirit, Who helps us live beyond the Letter of the Law, living according to the dictates of the Spirit.

Lastly, one can never do enough for the Lord. How much is ever enough? But, if you're a praying person wanting to use the opportunities God lays upon your heart or directs you to, then every place you go to & every person you meet, may be what the Lord wants for you to share something of His Goodness. Any sense of cowardice will disappear - for the Lord will be your strength ( 2 Timothy 1:7) & your mouth - remembering your witness & life will be the catalyst for someone to become serious about his eternal well-being. You may be God's man for God's special moment in another person's life.

Matthew 18:22 (about forgiving others) Jesus saith unto him, "I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven."

Forgiving would be easy if one could FORGET the wrongs done to them.

When the wrongs done to someone play over and over in their heads, does that mean they haven't truly forgiven the offender??

I have friends who were raped. Maybe they did (try to) forgive their attacker, but do you really think they have ever forgotten for one second about that horrible incident? They never forget or get over it.

The minute one comes out of their mothers womb, everything said/not said, heard/ignored, done/didn't do, felt & thought is recorded in their memory for their entire life.

I look online or even out my front door and see this world swirling down the toilet. People are so blind. They don't know Jesus and don't want to. In the East Asian countries, all those people are idol worshippers. I'm sure someone has preached the Gospel to them at one time but they choose to worship their idols. Should I feel sorry for these people?

You can't force the Gospel of Christ on people who don't want it. Which is why we're supposed to set a good example.

And, setting a "good example" can get you killed. Like the Prophets, Jesus & his Apostles.

I just feel bad, like I haven't DONE enough for the Lord. I'm a coward. Always have been.

Why should God/Jesus allow a slacker like me into Heaven?

God will reveal if an individual has blasphemed, a clear indication is when

God takes His Holy Spirit away from that person's heart, and that individual can no longer feel the very presence of God anymore, as a sign that individual is no longer walking with Him. God will never fill a human temple with His Holy Spirit ever again once the unpardonable sin happens.

In the Book of Romans 1:18-23, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things."

Only God and that individual knows how far they have gone, a clear indication is when God takes His Holy Spirit away from that person's heart, and that individual can no longer feel the very presence of God anymore, as a sign that individual is no longer walking with Him. God will never fill a human temple with His Holy Spirit ever again once the unpardonable sin happens.

Hello sir or madam, I am happy to dialog with you if you share your name so I know who I'm communicating with and if you are respectful. Just saying someone is "incorrect" without any scriptures to back it up isn't getting off on the right foot, however.

I believe all will be judged on a particular day because the Bible says the phrase "day of judgment", "the day when", the "last day". It doesn't say there's multiple days of judgment or a week or month or years of judgment, or that judgment is only whenever you die. Here's some examples:

1 John 4:17 "day of judgment"

Matthew 12:36 "day of judgment"

2 Peter 2:9 "day of judgment"

Matthew 11:22 "day of judgment"

2 Corinthians 5:10 "we must all"

Romans 2:16 - "the day when"

John 12:48 "last day"

Revelation 20:12-15 is a vision, but that verse also indicates multitudes judged at once does it not? So, the scriptural support is strong. Do you feel you have just as much scriptural support against this? Do you know of any verses that say the the opposite?

Aside from being a particular day, you questioned that all will be judged, and suggested 2 different judgments.

We also know this judgment is for everyone, because in verse 15 it says those not found in the book of life were cast into the fire. So, this event sorted people. It doesn't say that in this judgment ALL went to hell or ALL went to heaven. A judgment is a judgment of each individual "according to their works" and determines where they go according to verse 15.

Hi Sarah. The Jewish Sabbath starts from the evening of the Friday according to our Gregorian calendar. They keep to the same dates as we have them, except that their year is different (their current year is 5782). So whether your calendar shows Sunday as the first day of the week or Monday as the first, it won't matter, as the Sabbath will always start from Friday evening. And all their other holidays & observances are based on the calendar we have.

As the Jew remains under the Law, it is imperative that they abide to the given Law, for by it they will be judged ( Romans 2:12). But for the one In Christ, our judgement was at the Cross & the Law has no hold or gives any penalty to us ( Romans 8:1-4).

Verse 51- "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death". This is such a powerful verse. there are so many people out there who are falsely claiming that once a person is saved they are always saved. They will say that disobedience to Christ will lead to chastisement or physical death, but, they are eternally secure. However, this could not be further from the truth and makes Christ out to be a liar. Very interesting that Christ says IF a man keeps his sayings they shall never see death, which is spiritual death. I just had a guy yesterday try telling me that all "true believers" will keep his sayings. However, my question is why did Christ not say that? And, why did Paul write in Romans 2:6-9 "Who will render to every man according to his deeds:To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:"? Paul knew there would be those in the church who would use their liberty in Christ as a license to sin, which is why he specifically warned BELIEVERS against walking away from Christ. He is 100% clear that salvation is conditional. He further highlights this in Gal. 5: 1-4 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free (true believers), and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." Notice, we as (true) believers can be SEVERED from Christ and fallen from grace. If Christ is the only way to Heaven, how can think we are eternally secure if God's very word warns against it? The OSAS crowd can't prove the Bible teaches "true" believers will automatically endure to the end. We must follow the spirit and never walk away of an evil heart of unbelief!!

You have an incorrect view on this. Salvation is conditional on one's continued walk with Christ, like it or not. To say that one can wilfully walk away from Christ and live Disobedience to God will go to heaven is a direct violation of Hebrews 5:9 where we are told that Christ is the author of eternal life for all those who obey him. Also, your response is in direct conflict with Romans 2:9 where Paul says only those who continue walking with Christ will have eternal life. Notice the condition there. This is also in direct line with 1st John 2: 24-25. John clearly says that only those who abide and remain in Christ will receive the promise of eternal life. There is no guarantee there, unless one remains s in Christ. Again, I ask you to show me the Bible verse that states specifically that one will remain in Christ automatically if they are saved. The early church did not teach once saved always saved and specifically highlighted that if one walks away from priced and does not return to Christ will end up in hell. Justin Martyr, for example, addresses this and specifically highlights True Believers that walk away from Christ. The promise of eternal life has conditions and doesn't make it any less of a promise. There is always an if/then connection when it comes to Salvation. Again, you can't show me a Bible verse that so shows True Believers are automatically saved. Everything is based on our continued faith. If what you're saying is true, and it's not, then who can ever really know that they are a True Believer? And, if you are saying that one can be disobedient and end up in heaven makes God a liar and an accessory to sin. Lastly, Rev. 3:5 says those who walk with Christ will not have their name blotted out of The Book of Life. How do we get our names in The Book of Life? Only by accepting Christ gift of Salvation and walking in the light! If we can't have our names blotted out of the book of life that would make Christ a liar and the author of confusion.
