I thank God for his grace realizing there is nothing good enough I can ever do to deserve this gift of God, his grace gives me faith to believe his Word
Justification is declared to be by faith (believing the promise of God),Not by keeping the Law. When we believe in the promises of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ,we to ,like Abraham have the righteousness of Jesus Christ put to our account.
In Abraham, we have the father of many nations. He is for the jews a prophet because God appeared unto him and reported that there was only one Holy One of Israel, and there were no others. Ditto for the Muslims who are also very Monotheistic(even militant). For the Christian, it was the Faith that was required of him in God's call to offer up Issac, the child of promise and his rightful heir. For God heard his supplication for an heir, but Abraham first had to endure a trial by fire of his faith before faith would be truly imputed to him, as described by Paul in this charter of his enlightening epistles
Romans 5:12 for by one man sin entered the world and death by sin so death passed upon all men for in that all have sinned..... one day I asked God to teach me something I was on an assembly line and wanted to get my mind on something else to help the day go by.so he gave me this verse. I did not think there was anything there for me to know.I already knew about Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit . so i said Lord I already know all about that. And he said to me Eve ate first why did sin and death not enter the world when eve ate.and I said yes lord I never saw that before why did sin not enter the world when eve ate so over time this is what I think I have come to understand in order for Adam to sin he first needed a law 1John 3:4 whosoever commiteth sin transgresseth also the Law for sin is the transgression of the Law. Romans 4:15 for the Law worketh wrath for where no Law is there is no transgression without Law Adam could not become a transgressor Romans 4:16 For until the Law Sin was in the world but Sin is not imputed when there is no Law Gen 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the Man saying of every tree in the garden thou mayest freely eat there of but of the tree of the Knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it for the day there in that thou eatest there of thou shalt surely die ...the commandment was only to Adam you you you... now I do not care what Eve said to the serpent she was not under the law because sin and death did not enter the world when she ate but when Adam ate she died being that she was made from him bone of his bone flesh of his flesh and when they had children they also were the children of Adam bone of his bone flesh of his flesh born dead what Adam lost when he ate was eternal life.there was no death in the world . anyway if God gave Eve the Law then sin and death would have come into the world by the woman and Jesus would have been born with sin through his mother no salvation
4:20 reads He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was STRONG in faith, giving God the Glory....... even though Sarah laughed, Abraham new that God was more than able to fulfill his promise/prophecy. 4:21 And being FULLY persuaded what he "God" had promised; he was ABLE TO PERFORM! That's powerful!
verses 8-9-10 the two children one is born of god I must assume the other is born of the devil that which is born of the devil commits sin that which is born of god does not sin and cannot sin because he is born of god its a position he has in Christ because he keeps his commandments 3:23 to believe that Jesus is his son and to love one another as he gave commandment has nothing to do with the law of Moses. Abraham believed god and it was imputed onto him for righteousness Romans 4:3 what did Abraham do to obtain righteousness he believed god what does god command you to believe 3:23 that Jesus is his son and to love one another as he gave commandment by this know we the children of god and the children of the devil whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of god neither he that loveth not his brother 4:3 and every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of god neither he that loveth not his brother may also be speaking of Jesus seeing that he is also your brother John 14:21 He that hath my commandments and keepeth them he it is that loveth me 3:23 as gods word he gives you the fathers commandment to believe that he is his son and as his son he gives you his commandment to love one anothere
hi, In Genesis 15 God told Abraham he was to have a child and be the father of many nations. Well Abraham was 99 years old and Sarah 90. God was giving this prophecy before it happened as though it was and is already. When God says something it will happen.
Hunh........... I guess Eph 2:8-9 must have been a type O then.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ones works are insufficient: Isaiah 64:6
But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as FILTHY RAGS; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Romans 3:10
As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, no, not one:
Good works are a manifestation of a born again spirit to be sure. But they did not save anyone. That would mean that Christ's death alone on the cross was not sufficient.
2 Corinthians 3:5
Not that we are SUFFICIENT of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God;
2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is SUFFICIENT for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
One cannot earn God's favor (Grace) it is freely given. We only need to believe.
Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be JUSTIFIED in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Being JUSTIFIED freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 3:28
Therefore we conclude that a man is JUSTIFIED by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 4:2
For if Abraham were JUSTIFIED by works, he hath [whereof] to glory; but not before God.
Romans 5:1
Therefore being JUSTIFIED by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:9
Much more then, being now JUSTIFIED by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 8:30
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also JUSTIFIED: and whom he JUSTIFIED, them he also glorified.

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not JUSTIFIED by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be JUSTIFIED.
Galatians 2:17
But if, while we seek to be JUSTIFIED by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Galatians 3:11
But that no man is JUSTIFIED by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED by faith.
Galatians 5:4

1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, JUSTIFIED in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Titus 3:7
That being JUSTIFIED by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
When verses in scripture seem to contradict each other you must do three things.
1. Find out what the rest of scripture tell us about the subject. *scripture interprets scripture*
2. Know the meaning in the original language as some does not translate well from its original. ( 1 John 3:6 and 3:9 are perfect examples) its says one born again is sinless; we know that not to be true it is impossible. A better translation would be to say; anyone born again will not continue in their sinful life style.)
3. Look at the historical context in which the subject was being written about.
Conclusion: Man has no part in his salvation, it is truly a gift to them that believe.
