    Hi Jack.

It's tough. What gets me over it, I think about the things the Lord forgave me for and the things I'm still struggling with, I don't deserve this Grace he had bestowed on me.

HERE'S A FEW VERSES TO CONSIDER.

Romans 5:7-8. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

( But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.)

Christ died for you and I while we were yet STILL SINNING!!! He didn't wait for me to stop and apologize.

Philippians 2:1-8. If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU, WHICH WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS:

Your forgiveness should be on the basis of Mercy.

    GOD BLESS

Should we believe God created Adam and Eve not knowing what was going to happen? Many say it was free will they had a choice. If that, do we imply God is not in control. The first Adam was a figure of him that was to come. ( Romans 5:14) A shadow indeed! There are two Adams in the Bible The first Adam was made a living soul (being) the last Adam a quickening spirit. ( 1 Corinthians 15:44-49)

"The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven". Here we have Jesus as the second man, we know He was not the second man on earth. 1John.3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Was the first Adams purpose to start humankind or the start of the plan that Jesus, the last Adam finished that Satan could not see. There is very little in the Bible about when Satan rebelled but we know by the book of Job the angels were before this world was created. ( Job 29:3-7)

I am sure some will disagree but I believe God placed the first Adam to do His will and it was part of God's plan that was before this world was. ( 1 Peter 1:19-20) All humans today are descendants of Adam due to the flood, the eight people on the ark came from Adam.

    God bless,

    Hi GIGI.

I believe a way to put us are WE covered by the blood of Christ as the children of Israel was covered by the Lambs blood on the door post in Egypt. WE CAN'T COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IN THIS FALLEN STATE WE'RE IN. ( A Sinner).

There may be different sin that brings different results, like fornication ( sin against the body) ect. but all sinners that don't come to Christ will suffer the same fate.

A unbeliever is already dead under the penalty of sin, Christ came to pay the ransom and take that charge off us by way of the cross.

NOTICE THE SINGLE PENALTY AND CHARGE THAT IS MENTIONED BELOW.

Romans 5:11-12. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Wherefore, as by ONE MAN SIN ENTERED into the world, AND DEATH BY SIN; ( and so death passed upon all men, ) for that all have sinned:

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the "SIN" of the world.

NOW CONTINUING TO REJECT TRUTH OR REBEL AGAINST TRUTH OR CORRECTION BY MEANS OF THE LIGHT OF SCRIPTURE CAN BE DANGEROUS.

I think God Judge the heart of every individual and his tolerance may vary but he will not pardon the guilty.

Here's a couple of examples in regards to a few countries.

Matthew 11:21-24. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

ALL SIN IS DEALT WITH BY CHRIST OR YOU.

    GOD BLESS.

For any who are looking at theories on how it ends. There is a fantastic picture that has been painted and taught since the early 1800s and is taken from Daniel 9:27 to create the last week (7 years). The entire theory and all that is taught that will happen hinges on taking the last week/7 years from this 70-week prophecy.

This prophecy was determined on Daniel's people (house of Israel) and the holy city (Jerusalem).

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

If Jesus fulfilled what was determined in this prophecy, does that make this entire theory and all that is taught in this theory untrue?

How will it change the picture if the 70th week in the book of Daniel has been fulfilled?

    What is our blessed hope?

We have been told to study, trust our teacher the Holy Spirit and pray.

These are the six things that were determined, and a few verses that may help your study.

    1. To finish the transgression ( Isaiah 53:5, 8) ( Isaiah 53:11) ( Hebrews 9:15-18)

    2. To make an end of sins ( Matthew 1:21) ( Hebrews 10:8-11) ( John 1:29) ( 1 Corinthians 15:3)

    ( 1 John 3:5) ( Psalm 32) ( Romans 8:3)

    3. To make reconciliation for iniquity ( Colossians 1:20-22) ( Isaiah 53:6) ( Isaiah 53:11) ( Ephesians 2:16) ( Titus 2:14) ( 2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

    4. To bring in everlasting righteousness ( Romans 5:17-21) ( Romans 3:21-26) ( 1Peter 2:24)

    ( 2 Corinthians 5:21) ( Isaiah 61:10-11)

    5. To seal up vision and prophecy ( Daniel 9:23) ( John 6:27) ( Mark 1:14-15) ( Acts 3:18)

    ( John 5:36-40) ( Matthew 11:11-15)

    6. To anoint the most holy ( Hebrews 8:1-12) ( Hebrews 9:6-14)

Hello Randy. Looking at the sacrifice of Jesus, the Son of God, from the human standpoint, I would agree with your question & it could also make me wonder also as to why God couldn't provide another way for our redemption. But with any biblical question that needs an answer, we have to find it by understanding God's Wisdom as seen in ALL of Scripture. Please bear with me.

In God's Justice system, if anything is done in opposition to His Law (whether verbal or written), the penalty for that disobedience is death: "For the wages of sin (breaking of the Law) is death" ( Romans 6:23) & "as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" ( Romans 5:12). We suffer death because we are all sinners - all have disobeyed God's Will (whether Jew or non-Jew). But was death the only punishment for sinners seeing that the spirit of man (our immaterial part that is really who we are) cannot die? The body has to die & return to dust but the spirit still has to face judgement for his disobedience & rejection of God: "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" ( Hebrews 9:27).

But God's people (Israel) still had to have a set of rules & regulations from God that they had to obey to have a right standing before Him & if they failed to do so, their sinful state remained & they would stand before the Great Judge. Of course, they failed, as we also do now, because those Laws only revealed to us our sinfulness & incapability to fulfil them. So God introduced the sacrificial system whereby Israel faithfully had various sacrifices performed so that God would be appeased by this act of payment of life for life. Rather than the Israelite being executed for his sin (which would mean that all would have been killed), God's Anger & Judgement against him was appeased by the sacrifice of an unblemished animal as his substitute (Leviticus chapter 1).

    Hello Dan,

The Apostle John says several times that Christians must obey the "commandments" of God. You would say that the Apostle John is referring specifically to the "10" commandments. Can you prove that to me with a verse? Also, why does he not say, even once, specifically, the "10" commandments?

I believe the Apostle John is referring to all the "commandments" given to the Church. Notice...

1 Corinthians 14:37 "If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are THE "COMMANDMENTS" of the Lord".

Christians obey the "commandments" of the Lord given to the Church through the Apostles in the epistles and not the 10 commandments given to the nation of Israel in the Old Testament. Christians are under the New Testament.

    Kindly.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, I think your missing the point. The point that I was making is that the persons of the Old Testament who did God's will, had God's favor and acceptance. Those who did not do God's will or stopped doing God's will, lost God's favor and acceptance.

Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, David, and many others did what God told them to do and had God's favor. Cain, Korah, King Saul, and many others disobeyed God and lost God's favor.

Would Noah have retained God's favor had he stopped building the ark? (No.)

Would Korah have avoided being destroyed by God, had he stopped opposing Moses? (Yes.)

1 Samuel 15:22-23 "And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in OBEYING THE VOICE OF THE LORD? Behold, TO OBEY is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also REJECTED THEE from being king.

1 Chronicles 28:9 "And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but IF THOU FORSAKE HIM, HE WILL CAST THEE OFF FOR EVER."

The Apostles, writing to the Christians, warned them time and time again to obey God and not to disobey God.

    See 1 Corinthians 10:1-12.

    Kindly.

God had already had Lucifer thrown to earth. Satan was lurking in the Garden, studying Eve and Adam, looking for weak places; a way to tempt them.

    Eve was tempted with food.

On his 40 day fast in the wilderness, Jesus was tempted with food by Satan.

It's probable that even now, Satan is tempting people with food, fame, power, delusions of grandeur, ponzie schemes etc.

Reading that passage shows the ways Satan tempts us. Also, how Jesus defeated him every single temptation! He used the Word of God.

"It is WRITTEN!! You shall not tempt the Lord your God."

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word out of the mouth of God."

That's exactly how we are to fight Satan. Your bank of scripture, written in your heart, directly decides who is going to win the Battle (spiritual warfare). If you got nothing, you may get hurt.

Scripture is your arsenal. Personally, I want some long guns, missiles, etc. Look what Satan did to Job.

Jesus gave us Ephesians 6, and he means for us (men , women, kids, grandparents) to wear the Armor of Jesus Christ and use the weapons.... the Word of God.

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made (us), even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Father Purposes

    Jesus speaks the Word

The Holy Spirit (action) accomplishes it

If you are born again, the Holy Spirit seals you; He is the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He indwells you. Comforts you. He is your Teacher. He anoints you to understand scripture. He is your Helper. He is gentle, and kind. He reveals Jesus to you.

Genesis 1:2 ... And the (Holy) Spirit of God moved upon the waters.

Genesis 1:1 In the BEGINNING God (the Spirit) created heaven and earth.

The SPIRIT (of GOD) is the only ONE (LIFE) that is eternal; no beginning and no end.

We are GIFTED (GRACED) through the WORKS of CHRIST (Spirit of GOD) with this same GIFT (no end to life); GIFTED to those that believe in the THE WORKS OF GOD (SPIRIT).

  • Richard in Christ on Romans 5 - 3 years ago
Good day my brothers and sisters in the Lord,

As I may have stated these things before I believe they are a way of pointing to the Divinity of Christ or His pre-existence. Being one with the Father.

Many places throughout the NT it is stated that when we are "born again" we receive the Holy Ghost from above. Which also in many places we have the Spirit of God in us and the Spirit of Christ in us. I hope no one would just want to pick one out of the three.

We are told the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth in several places. We know the Spirit of God is life. As in Genesis 2:7 God brought fourth life to the dust He formed us from by the breath of life. So there's two things that connect directly to John 14:6 Jesus Christ saying "I AM" these things.

We know Jesus Christ is the Mediator between God and man. I don't see any way of someone being this except He were both. God and man. We see even in the OT denoting our Creator having a Son. Before He was born of the flesh here. Proverbs 30:4.

We know about John 1 in that He is the Word of God who became flesh and dwelt among us. Also noted as the Lamb of God from John the baptist. Who also stated that one was coming after him who was before him. John was around six months older than Jesus Christ. This seems to point to pre-existence. Also as another stated to be a perfect sacrifice for the entire world I would think it would have to be more than just a "perfect human". Being the Lamb of God He is part of God.

Again I know some have a their own view of these things. Though to just use the Scripture and let the Holy Ghost be your teacher it is sure.

I want to end this with just saying how thankful I am that Lord has chosen me to have received His Holy Spirit. To live for Him. All the things He has allowed me to see, hear, feel. Priceless. There is nothing else that interests me anymore except to please our Father and thank Him continually for sending us His Son. To be reconciled with the Father through Him.
  • Firstfruits sealed - In Reply on Romans 5 - 3 years ago
I'm talking about the physically manifested, end-time firsfruits of Jesus Christ. The Church. The Bride. The two witnesses are much more special than meets the eye. In fact you could devote a lifetime to Sunday school, and never uncover the clews of who they are. They are the elite set, one hundred forty four thousand gleaned from Israel, the remnant who after battling satan, are resurrected into Christ's army. Only these elect qualify ( Revelation 14:4) to be firstfruits for the thousand years.

However, due to above corresponding, and conflicting scriptures, any opinion falls inconclusive. The gut feeling says everyone else awaits second entry; all 108 billion souls that ever lived. What do we care, we'll be sleeping.

Critical thinking is the basic tenet of the skeptical approach. It is an approach that underpins all of its activities and findings, drawing on the scientific method (research, analysis and peer review) to provide the evidence for our points of view.

    Skeptic definition

    * a person who doubts the truth of Christianity and other religions; an atheist.

    * an attitude of doubt or a disposition to incredulity either in general or toward a particular object; the doctrine that true knowledge or some particular knowledge is uncertain; the method of suspended judgment, systematic doubt, or criticism that is characteristic of skeptics (Merriam-Webster).

    * Skeptical theism is the view that God exists but that we should be skeptical of our ability to discern God's reasons for acting or refraining from acting in any particular instance.

If we really want to believe that the Universe didn't explode in the Big Bang, and that our ancestors didn't crawl out of goo, stand up and walk into college.

Why is it so hard to believe in God? He's

Not a creator of weapons systems or video games,

But a Creator of this planet we live on; fight and die for; enjoy every day of our lives.

Scientists now say (recent info from satellites sent to study our solar system):

All the planets once had huge bodies of water. Even Pluto. They see the water beds.

They surmised that all of the water on other planets evaporated because of location to our Sun.

How is it that only Earth has abundant water?

Other planets closer to the sun than earth; and planets further into space behind earth: have only empty sea beds. PBS dot ORG, to see that scientific report.

We serve a Godhead of unsearchable intelligence, knowledge, power, creative expression, intuition, communication.

As some people say: haters are gonna hate; as do the doubters. Faith is a mystery. God loves people of FAITH.

He reveals Himself to Believers. Why miss out on that? Are you a skeptic?

  • First Fruits Offerings To God - In Reply on Romans 5 - 3 years ago
    Firstfruits

The first-fruits of the ground were offered unto God just as the first-born of man and animals. "The law required, (1.) That on the morrow after the Passover Sabbath a sheaf of new corn should be waved by the priest before "the altar ( Lev. 23:5, 6, 10, 12; 2:12)." "(2.) That at the feast of Pentecost two loaves of leavened "bread, made from the new flour, were to be waved in like manner" "( Lev. 23:15, 17; Num. 28:26)." "(3.) The feast of Tabernacles was an acknowledgement that the fruits of the harvest were from the Lord ( Ex. 23:16; 34:22). "(4.) Every individual, besides, was required to consecrate to God a portion of the first-fruits of the land ( Ex. 22:29; 23:19; "34:26; Num. 15:20, 21)." "(5.) The law enjoined that no fruit was to be gathered from "newly-planted fruit-trees for the first three years, and that" the first-fruits of the fourth year were to be consecrated to the Lord ( Lev. 19:23-25). Jeremiah (2:3) alludes to the "ordinance of "first-fruits," and hence he must have been" "acquainted with the books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers," where the laws regarding it are recorded.

Thankfully brother Spencer we have so many bible instructions on the operations of the body of Christ, the Church and bride, including a washing of our feet by one another and greeting with an Holy Kiss, we have clear instructions to examine our lives together as members of the the bride so that we can commune together in oneness by the Spirit. My wife and I who were married in the Lord are one in faith as well as many of my closest brethren which I can count into the hundreds and hundreds whom I have met and greeted.

So we endeavor by the Grace of God in Jesus Christ to walk more closely in him which often requires denying ourselves of our own wants and ambitions so that we can be more like him, the Lamb of God.

God bless our faithful conversation in peace that has no end.

What makes you think that anyone other than the first fruits are first fruits?

    ( Revelation 14:3-5)

3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb.

5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

It is only the one hundred forty four thousand, resurrected and standing at the throne of God.

The rest of the dead slept till the second resurrection.

BUT WAIT, were not finished, or without contradiction:

    ( 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Did all of the one hundred forty four thousand die, or did some take cover? vs 17 says those alive will be caught up with the dead to meet the Lord in the air. I tend to believe from the great number of sealed Israelites that some must remain alive. After all, they are witnesses to anti-christ's exploits, and need to see it to the end. Per usual, looking into the translation, etymology would iron matters out.

    Hi Carlton.

I agree, and what came to mind is I believe the Lord gave us marriage to communicate his love to the Church.

A husband and wife should model that relationship.

Ephesians 5:22-28. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

For the HUSBAND IS THE HEAD OF THE WIFE, EVEN AS CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH: and he is the saviour of the body.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

    Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

( THAT HE MIGHT SANCTIFY AND CLEANSE IT WITH THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD, )

THAT HE MIGHT PRESENT IT TO HIMSELF A GLORIOUS CHURCH, NOT HAVING SPOT, OR WRINKLE, OR ANY SUCH THING; BUT THAT IT SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLEMISH.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

""THAT GOD MIGHT SANCTIFY AND CLEANSE US!!!""

Mathew 19:5-6. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and THEY TWAIN SHALL BE ONE FLESH?

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, LET NOT MAN PUT ASUNDER

These verses remind me of Romans 8:28-39. No separation, No divorce. Nothing can separate us from the love of the Lord.

    God bless
  • GROWING OUR THOUGHT LIFE - In Reply on Romans 5 - 3 years ago
There is thinking and knowing. All of our thoughts on any issue, must line up with the written Word of God.

Knowing, is discovering God's will on any matter of question.

Accepting what God has said on any matter is profitable to our growth as children of God.

Our Daddy does not ever lie, or make things fuzzy so we cannot understand it.

A lying spirit would be happy to get us off track, imagining and wondering; even fantasizing.

The Chief Shepherd leads His sheep. Another "voice" they will not follow. Why? Because the Shepherd cares for His sheep.

People in the Bible, were allowed to catch a brief glimpse of Heaven. Paul, Stephen, John and Peter, Elisha, Elijah and many more! Encourage yourself on all those examples that you are able to dig out of the Bible. The trip is worth it.

God's not hiding heaven from us, at all.

My 8 yr old son didn't want to go to heaven because he said "heaven doesn't have pizza."

I told the Lord about it. Instantly, the Lord said, there will be pizza in heaven I fell off the sofa almost.

The 'accusations' that we hear, that heaven is boring, not cool, not fun, boring food... are Lies from Satan. He knows all of our weaknesses. Why wouldn't he seek to discourage us? Let's learn to say: I rebuke that lie in the Name of Jesus! Goliath told David what he was going to do to him..and David killed Goliath with a rock; and then severed Goliaths head.

The lying demons will leave, IF we confront them with Truth and scripture. They have billions of others who will listen. Chop it's head off and go on with your Victorious Savior, Jesus!

I always think it's a mighty thing to uncover things about God that aren't discussed much.. and study it and then showcase what God has done and is going to do.

Often missed in the story of Gideon: God down-sized his army to a small group. Soldiers that were able to bear full dress, a pack, armor, and LAP water like a deer, keeping a watch for the enemy intently.

Thank you brother Spencer for taking the time. I lean towards this thought being what Paul was trying to say. I do agree that these verses do not lend much support if any to the subject of personal salvation.

I am a witness though to very many reconsecrations from what appeared be, by their own words, having been overtaken in sin. The very short story and I have my own too, are night and day changes in spirit, actions and love from coming through a repentance and then separation from the willing sin(s). The power of the Holy Spirit in some of these changes is convincing to anyone witnessing at the time. These experiences from separation by sin to repentance and reconsecration are good and edifying and keep the Church of God blameless. My thoughts are open to correction.

    Hi Michael.

    I agree on moving on,

I just wanted to give my thoughts on your last reference.

Psalms 51:11. CAST ME NOT AWAY FROM THY PRESENCE; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

In the old testament God's presence came amongst them and I believe empowered them.

The spirit even came upon Nebuchadnezzar and many others as instruments. Today he put his Spirit in us.

    Hebrews 10:16-19. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

King David was a man after the Lord's own heart but he lost his joy and that's what he's crying out for.

Psalms 51:12. "RESTORE UNTO ME THE JOY" of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalms 51:14. DELIVER ME FROM BLOODGUILTINESS, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

    Thanks Michael.

    God bless

Hi ,does any one else think that the true sabbath is yet to come ? One day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day ,might not the true sabbath be the one thousand years reign of Christ over the humans left on earth ,wherein sin shall exist because humans still exist ,but sin shall be greatly dimished ? Could not the one thousand year reign of Christ in person from Jerusalem be the true sabbath ? All imput appreciated .
