It doesn't have anything to do with the nails or cross. However it does symbolize death and resurrection. More importantly baptism is just that. Being baptized a key part in steps to return to live with God again. Christ was baptized not to wash away sins but to fulfill all righteousness as stated in Mathew 3:15. In Mark it talks about being baptized of water and the holy ghost both are needed.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

  • LaTasha on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
We are not under the Mosaic law anymore. We are indeed under grace. Jesus came and died for us in order to fulfill the law that grace may abound. We should not be teaching the Mosaic law with grace. Because he came so the law would be fulfilled . So, we can't just pick the law back up and mix grace in. Otherwise, we make the death of our Lord and Savior null and void. The Mosaic law was impossible to keep that's why sacrifices had to be made to cleanse their sins. The Lord was a sacrificial lamb once and for all. Colossians 2:14 tells us that the handwritten ordinances that were against us were blotted out and taken out of the way by the nailing of it to his cross. So, this tells us plainly that the laws were done away with on the cross by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I thank my heavenly father for Jesus Christ out Lord and Savior, who died to free us from our sins. I'm grateful for God, our father's "Grace" that saved us and gave us another chance to live free from destruction. God is so good and he really do love us. He even promised that when we choose to follow him and stay righteous, his blessings comes with no sorrows. I love God!

Romans ch 6 is an exhortation to keep The Commandments which are all embodied in The New Commandment of Love. Yeshua taught over and over about keeping The Commandments in order to follow The Lord our God. To pursue The Lord is to love and pursue Holiness proceeding from The cleansing and doing of The Word. Rom2:13 28, James 1:22-23

Blessed are those of the body of Christ, his Church. Our God, the Holy One of Israel our Savior, is risen, He LIVES! Wisdom of Solomon 3:1 But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them. Luke 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more death hath no more dominion over him.
  • Norm on 1 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
Thank you heavenly Father for your gifts of faith and righteousness to us who believe, your church, and thanks to our living God, our LORD JESUS who paid for our sins sparing us from your wrath which will fall on the children of disobedience! Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

When I read this verse, my mind went directly to Romans 6:16, Know ye not, that whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey whether sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? David burned the bridges behind him, and he willing became a servant of God. As a servant, David is simply asking for clarity in his marching orders. He wants to know God's testimonies so that his obedience would be more perfected.

One does not know the immense depth of sin till they have come to the truth in Jesus Christ our Lord. By the power of His working Holy Spirit in the believer sin can be conquered and cleansed by the blood of the lamb. Till that knowledge is expressed on the inner man by Gods Holy Spirit Romans 6:23 tells us "for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord." Paul was gifted by Gods Holy Spirit on that road to Damascus making him to know the sin that abide within and the Waring of his mind and the flesh was evident in all his teachings. Thank you Jesus for His immense love He gave of Himself on the cross so that we may live likewise. PRAISE JESUS!!!
  • BEhold the Lamb of God on 1 John 3 - 9 years ago
John madden? Behold the Lamb of God. See what He makes you in this next verse. Only He does that! Not us. And when He does you are FREE FROM SIN. Note who "made" us that and thank HIM. MADE! The "end" is written which means non negotiable for those MADE this. This information was written to them. FAITH is never doubt. BEHOLD the LAMB as John instructed, He was sent to bear witness to the true light and what did he say the Lamb does? See your end if reborn: ... Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

  • Angela on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
Nothing but the blood of Jesus can cleanse us. For all that Jesus went through for us we ought to abstain from all things that is not pleasing to Him.
  • Jeff on Psalms 11 - 9 years ago
Good works alone will not get us to heaven, in fact works has nothing to do with salvation. We are saved by God's grace alone. Salvation is a free gift from the Lord, and our works after that are our choice-though God does expect us to live by the book. Because of our sin, we are separated from God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 The Penalty for our sin is death. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ! But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins! For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 ...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9,10

Thanks be to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us. Because of his blood we are now redeemed on the cross, he have come to give us life. Our job now is to follow Jesus and obey his words. He who loves Jesus will keep his commandments until rapture. By his blood we are forgiven and pardoned. Thanks to Jesus for his Resurrection, His Ascencion into heaven and thanks to Jesus for sending us the Holy Spirit in order for us to have life in abundance and will be free from the hands of the defeated devil. We must avoid and stop sinning. We must seek God's kingdom first into our life and hear his words and obey them. Only from his words we recieve Peace, happiness and life in abundance. Without Christ we will not be save. If we keep ourselves away from God. The life we chose becomes miserable and God is not responsible for the life that we chose. Jesus always reminds us to keep ourselves be found in the Church and read the bible. God has the master key to open each door for us. Once he opended nobody can shut our door. Amen and thank you Jesus for your blood, i will trust you Lord forever for my life is yours. Amen
