One of The First things of Many to go was My Cursing, Instantly Going.I didn't even Know it, Until The Pastor said, I Bet The Your Cursing is Going. Wow, that's What so Different. How did he Know I Curse? I didn't Curse in Front of Him,I Don't Think I did? Smoking, a Year Later, 1 is Saved. I Choose to Call The Pastor instead of Smoking. The Lord Said I'll Never Smoke Again. Going! No Temptation
Well first of all when I was saved on May 5th , 2017 and Baptized May 17th , 2017 . I have been having some struggles in me still smoking . Jesus is convicting me and this is a heavy burden on me because I'm trying to hold on to a Sin that I know that he will destroy me if I keep holding on . Jesus , took away my potty mouth . This is a crutch for me .
Every person on the planet earth was born under the submission of sin unknowingl, until the law of sin and death became acknowledged to us that we were sinners. The sin was and still is present in those that has not accepted the resurrection death of Jesus' to denounce sin as no longer an issue to those who believe that he took care of the sin issue by His blood and He is the living sacrifice.
Romans 7: 1 - 4 Is describing the bondage of the law is like a husband having dominion over the woman as long as he is alive, but we are dead to the law our 1st husband, our 1st husband died which was the law. Now Christ is our husband.David fulfilled the office of the husband with Bathsheba, she was dead to Uriah by the body of David, now we are dead to the law by the body of Christ our new Husband.
It's simple, we're under grace not the law. No one can keep the law. It's purpose is to show our sin and lead us to Christ to be saved by faith. The apostle Paul describes the struggle between the new and old nature.
Jason i admire your spritual insight, but if you read Romans 7 v 4 we see that Nabal was symbolic of the law our 1st husband but Romans 7 v 4 says you are dead to the law (Nabal ) by the body of Christ that you should be married to another ( Christ ) Abigail married another which was David then Nabal died. At Horeb Moses married Israel to the Law/Nabal he said this is what God has ENJOINED unto you
The death of the old man is pictured so perfect in 1 Samuel chapter 25
read this story about a man named Nabal which is like our old nature and a woman named Abigail who is our new nature and the marriage to David or Christ after the death of Nabal
"But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter." Romans 7:6 In a word, its not the Law that we needed deliverance from, but from ourselves under such a moral and spiritual condition from which the Law condemned us. Until there is a seeing eye, a hearing ear, and an understanding heart, and real repentance and conversion that dreaded Letter of the Law written in stone by the very finger of God, was our complete and utter doom. We are the ones that needed to be changed oh yes, much more than changed! We needed for the demand of the Law to be satisfied, yet we ourselves having a way to still live anew. God's nature cannot change so neither can His Law really change. But by His great love and understanding, the Lord was able to justify God's Law and still be merciful to save us.
Servant of God; There is a true Proverb; "Knowledge is easy to him that understands." When we don't struggle so hard to fit the harder things into our preconceived views; and rather be still and listen to what the Spirit says; knowledge will work in harmony with our growing understanding. Honesty about ourselves, like the Publican compared to the Pharisee praying, cannot disqualify us from grace!
Casting down every thought and imagination that exalts itself...against the knowledge of Christ will eliminate the urge or temptation to carry out sins desires. Yes we are born of a sinful nature but sin does not have control over a born again child of God...no longer has power over us to obey it...no we no longer submit to sins demands..we are free to resist and live for God. Thank you Jesus!
Sorry but i see this roms 7 as a love triangle betwen Christ and the church and the LAW, Paul is saying you are dead to the law by the body of Christ that you should be MARRIED TO ANOTHER even to him that was rasied up from the DEAD and bring forth fruit unto God. Fits perfect to David Bathesheba n Uriah She was dead to Uriah/LAW by the body of David and Married another, now Christ is our husband.
Some scriptures concerning sin, 1 John 1:71 John 1:81 John 2:11 John 3:91 John 5:17James 2:9James 4:17Ephesians 4: 26 1 Corinthians 15:34Romans 7:18-25 Romans 8:10Romans 14:23. Sin is mentioned in the KJV Bible 448 times. 336 times in the Old Testament - 112 times in the New Testament.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. Jesus told the man that had infirmity 38 years on the bed to rise up sin no more. The man sin was hurting him. Romans 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Paul still had a problem with sin.
Romans 7:14-15 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not but what I hate, that do I. Paul had sin, he knew how to deal with it, he would feed the new creature inside him which was the Holy Spirit. The more we read the Word of God, the lest we sin. The Word cleans good.
Paul used to be in the flesh before he got saved. Romans 7:5] For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
Romans 7:17-20 Paul is telling us that when sin has dominion over you, you cannot do the things you want to as sin will defeat your plans. Paul refers to Genesis 4:7 what God told Cain. When sin rules over you in trouble. Genesis 4:7] If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. The flesh is not perfect, but one day we will have a perfect body. Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. That we should not serve sin, that means it's possible to serve sin when saved.
Romans 7:18 18 For I know that in me that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not. Paul had one problem, that was the flesh. The new creature inside him was fight with the flesh. Thank God for the Holy Spirit inside us that are saved by believing thru Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ finished works.
Romans 7:23 tells us about the law of sin. Romans 10:9-13 tells us how to be delivered (saved) from this law of sin. When you heart desires sin but your mind tells you sin is wrong, call on the name of Jesus. Ask for the experience of Acts 2. This is the deliverance. Acts 2:16
We who are true Believers will face Persecution and Tribulation./---We must through much Tribulation enter The Kingdom of God: Acts 14:22 Satan is out to destroy The Church. The Battle begins the moment The Lord enters Your Heart. You need to be dressed for Battle:Ephesians6:11 Some will even lose Their Heads, False imprisonment, torture, killed in a variety of ways!
