    Rom 7:19,20

The apostle Paul describes the fight that he had, and that all other Christians have, and how, in spite of their best efforts, they will make mistakes, though not deliberately, insolently and willfully. The value of Christ's atonement sacrifice as applied for their sins, over which they repent and make confession, is the basis for their being declared righteous.

We are now living under Gods grace thru the blood of Jesus. Thanks to the blood of Jesus thru him we are pardoned our sins are cleansed and we are redeemed and forgiven Jesus is the perfect obedience to our Father therefore we must also obey God's words and worship him alone. Unless if we are not born again in spirit we cant please God and our flesh remains sinful. We must be born again in spirit
  • David on Romans 7 - 8 years ago
From law to grace,we still must do all we can to please God

Please don't misunderstand me. I have not arrived yet either just like you... and am not trying to compete with any other brother in Christ. I just have a burden to share some key items that have helped me along the way. Look to Christ and His precious written Word brothers and sisters. He will lead you and guide you into His truth! Bless Him! Bless Him!

For sin, taking occasion by the law, interesting. Christian liberty is good but what about the sinner are they to be tested by the law for an occasion to sin

I can sympathize with Paul in verse 21. I wish to do what is right, but the inherited imperfection and sin is within me.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom. 7:24,25 This is the final state of someone trapped in the law, this is the best they can do. To serve God with the mind but to live knowing they are bound by sin in the flesh. 8:1,2 This defines the true children of God being led (controlled) by the Spirit. For Paul, it is through the infilling and inner working of the Holy Spirit that believers will live overcoming lives free from sin.

We must have known that breaking Gods commandments was sinful before the law.

  • Lonnie P. McGallion on Romans 7 - 8 years ago
Wow. Verse 24 you find where a man repents as many have; like Jeremiah and Job ,of being a man. Of being a frail, falty, sinful, weak human. O WRETCHED MAN THAT I AM!!!! He(God) did that which I could not!!! He overcame flesh!!!! And thereby conquering death. Regardless of how perfect, I repent of being a unperfect human!!!! Full of failure. Wretched. God is so good!!!!

With out the Lord we are weak souls, therefor we need Jesus for strength to defeat evil! Other wise without Jesus we are all evildoers and will not be excepted in to paradise.

My sister you cannot do it alone/ is spiritual battle (KJV Eph. 6:11-17). Apostle Paul struggled with flesh ( Romans 7:14-25) he said the good I want I do not do. He reassures (1.Cor:10:13) God will not allow more than you can bear. You must choose in the MOMENT of temptation for God to help ( Matt. 10:19).

One does not know the immense depth of sin till they have come to the truth in Jesus Christ our Lord. By the power of His working Holy Spirit in the believer sin can be conquered and cleansed by the blood of the lamb. Till that knowledge is expressed on the inner man by Gods Holy Spirit Romans 6:23 tells us "for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord." Paul was gifted by Gods Holy Spirit on that road to Damascus making him to know the sin that abide within and the Waring of his mind and the flesh was evident in all his teachings. Thank you Jesus for His immense love He gave of Himself on the cross so that we may live likewise. PRAISE JESUS!!!

Sin and Satan are far powerful than humans. We need a more supernatural power to over these two before we can be like Jesus who went about doing good. Since Jesus overcame we will overcome.

I believe Paul wanted to do right, but he says evil is always present. It takes me back when Jesus came out of the wilderness fasting, and satan tempted Him with stones and told Jesus if you are hungry turn these stones to bread. But Jesus stood strong and powerful and told satan man does not live by bread alone, but every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Paul needed that inner strength from God to keep doing the things that are right. Just like us today, we the strength of Jesus to pass up evil and lustful desires. Amen?

The old law is from God but it 's all about what I can do. With the NEW COVENANT through the cross, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit it 's all about what I allow Jesus to lead me in doing. God sent his Son for a reason. Study, DIG deep into the gospels. Jesus is more alive now than ever. Hallelujah! Praise God! Jesus is alive! Hallelujah!

Paul recognized he had no ppower to change and stop sinning because he still had to struggle with the flesh, but when he realized all his sufficiency was in christ power not his!!!!!
  • Dahlia Daniels on Romans 7 - 9 years ago
Even though we summit ourselves to CHRIST and give it all we got Satan is still going to be present just to make sure we can handle the pressure so just keep TRUSTING in GOD no matter what IT 'S ALL ABOUT FAITH IN GOD
  • MockingBird on Romans 7:6 - 9 years ago
I was dead once but when Jesus came into me I was made alive to God : I am a new creature in Christ Jesus : Old things are passed away , Behold all things are become new. I am not under the law any more wherein I was held : That does not give me a license to sin : I serve now in the newness of the Spirit !!! Yes !! Amen !!!
