I feel in my sanctified Spirit that this bible scripture could be given in two ways, Yes I know we have sin in our body 's and we must bring it unto captivity so that we will not obey it.. But I also feel this with our minds as not having faith as looking on others that have sin in their and our faith is not being productive In way to destroy things we see operating in or upon someone.. We always speak negative concerning the sin.. But will not speak by faith to pray over person that they may be delivered or healed. We see the sin it take captivity of our minds and we can 't see others as GOD see them.. JESUS CHRIST came to set the captives free.. We also see where he spoke and said how the enemy desires to sift one of the disciples like wheat but JESUS CHRIST says He pray that their faith failed not.. We have a problem looking pass a problem in others live or even our own and looking to JESUS CHRIST and calling ourselves or others out by the word of GOD.. We have been given a Measure faith for it to grow in HIM as He Produces miracles in the lives of HIS people... Our minds will stop the processes of life given blessings if we do not pull down that member that Wars against members if our minds.. And bring it into captivity to the word of GOD.. Speak Life Over Yourselves And Others and See GOD bring HIS WORD TO PAST...!! Apostle Jessical

I really appreciate Mark V 's reply Every sin we could possibly commit prior to receiving Christ is washed away. We live by Grace and all should be very careful when believing we have a "right " to judge another person. Only God knows the entire situation in a persons life. There are numerous examples of "good Christian families " that end in Divorce court. This is terrible for all involved - just be careful we do not add to the pain of the situation by assuming we understand all the facts. I work with a woman whose husband was an elder in the church - yet beat her - was she justified in leaving him? God will judge - not me. Paul in 1st Corinthians 7 give us the understanding we need regarding marriage. Thanks to all for your comments, I really look forward to seeing mature Christians assisting those who are asking for more understanding. Bless you all.

In response to Rob 's question. If two individuals are divorcees who married each other and became saved afterwards, then God has washed those past sins away and that union is holy in His eyes. I would certainly suggest that harsh feelings toward their previous spouse s would be dealt with and a more civil attitude toward them pursued for sake of all involved. By the way, now that both are believers, divorce is no longer an option for hard times in this present marriage.
  • Rob on Romans 7 - 9 years ago
7v3. if two are married after divorce and also after coming to Christ, when all things are new , is that adultery ? old things have passed away etc

The law is holy and spiritual and serves us in that it exposes are carnal nature, whether manifested physically, mentally or emotionally. That sin nature has to be crucified daily and a diligent effort, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, made to overcome the flesh with the spirit as we progress the Christ-centered path of life.

Such body members as our hands, legs, and tongue can lead us captive to sins laws, so we should guard against misusing them.

We have services on Sunday because the early church met on the first day of the week. Read the book of Acts and you will find the answer there.

The commandment ordained to life is the Father 's Commandment, which is not the law. Hint: faith is to life, the law isn 't!

Romans chp 7--Probably one half of the Worlds population profess to be Christian, around three to three and one half billion people. But their is something odd, in what our Messiah said in Matt. 7:14..Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.. an ODD thing for our Savior to say, seeing how many Christians are living just in this age alone? And then we have this scripture Matt 7:21 Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the WILL of my FATHER which is in Heaven..... Not everyone, referring to more than one,... saith Lord, Lord, evidently these are people that have believed in Jesus, Now He says, but he that doeth the will of my Father? What is the will of God?.. The Will of GOD is this,we believe that GOD is the Creator and that he has created everything that has been created, and nothing remaining. He has sent into this World our sacrifice, to shed his Holy Blood and cleanse all mankind of their sin, we are to be obedient to Him, and His Commandments, giving our total allegiance to Him and His word. This is Gods will. OK, Now we see this scripture Matt 7:22---MANY, will say to me in that day LordLord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works. Matt 7:23 And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity....Now we see who He is talking about, professing Christians probably believing in this life, they are pleasing the Lord, but to the Lord they are far from Him!! II TIM 4:3-4...For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Since the Blasphemous satanic roman church changed the sacred Holy Sabbath of GOD and slaughtered the saints of God, man has followed after the traditions of man, their traditions which has brought mankind to this point today, a FALSE RELIGION, THE SUNDAY WORSHIP is secretly the worship of the pagan sun god! satan has tricked you through the deception of all the churches, catholic and protestant, their is none of God. you don 't think it 's possible, lets go back to before the flood, he deceived the whole Earth then to and they all perished! And he doing it again and laughing at all of you. Find a Bible believing seventh day believing, group of people that don 't observe holy days, they were nailed to the cross, and don 't observe Christmas, or easter, two pagan satanic days. along with Halloween. And may GOD help you for your sake. AMEN!!!

It happen so regular that it 's predictable. The moment I do good , sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God 's commands, but it pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight

What are the costs of discipleship? Not surprisingly, they all involve restraining the passions of the soul. Because of indwelling sin Rom. 7 17, 20 , the soul must be checked to keep it from ruling the spirit of man. If left to itself, the soul will trump the spirit and lead the whole man. The result is carnality in the life of a believer. God s will is that the spirit of man, where the Holy Spirit resides, leads the charge spirit directing soul directing body, in that order.

Paul cries out in Romans 7 24, O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? The apostle s unredeemed soul was working in league with his body, holding him back from serving God. He refers to it as the law of sin and death Rom. 8 2 . But in the same verse Paul reveals the secret of victory over this law. It is another law, the law of the spirit of life in Christ which frees believers from the law of sin and death. Some call it the law of counteraction. credit James Hollandsworth 3 Tenses of Salvation

It 's clearly outlined in this chapter that God makes us free moral agents, but in that freedom we see ourselves weak and powerless to perform all that God commands. So what does one do? For every command there is an empowerment to do, but the only way to perform it, is to believe it, against what we see or how we feel. Hope that is seen is not hope. The centurion said, "Speak the word only. " And Jesus called that "GREAT FAITH " It 's something to consider deeply!

The bible is such good food. Whenever I would do go evil is always present. I want to do the right things but the things I hate that 's what I do. We have to understand that there is a war going on between darkness and light, sickness and health good and evil. But, if we walk in the spirit because this is truly a spiritual walk. The bible tells us that those of us that worship God must worship him in sprit and in truth. Walk in the spirit and we won 't fulfill the lusts of the flesh. God bless!!

This indicates that, what i see in the mirror is not the actual me.I am the soul which is trapped in the body which is physical.JESUS has taught us not to sin even in our taught. The old testment and the quran only teaches us about our bodily deeds but JESUS teaches about our soul and that you are the soul and not your body

This is a revelation of our inheritance of being born of good and evil. The Spirit is revealing that we have a way to receive a new nature of Life. Too many think it is about being good, not realizing they are two sides of the same tree. We dont just need forgiveness but deliverance from the old nature because it has a sin nature. Once convinced, we accept the death of Christ ,our old nature ,and begin to live by the new Spirit . My experience is that i know i have been changed, but i am not robot. I did not become perfect ,but is being perfected more and more each day.

I purposely looked up this bible verse, because I remembered that Paul spoke about his struggle within, the flesh vs. the spirit. I think most Christians come to this fork in the road. There are so many temptations in this physical world. But often it is not those temptations to lie, to steal, to gossip, to kill, to be promicuous, etc. that we are fighting against. For someone like myself, it is the thoughts not the actions that can give one pause and cause one to question their commitment to Father God and Christ. Christ died that we may live and by His spirit, we are healed. My problem, on a purely personal level, is how to cut off sinful thinking. I don 't dare even consider the actions. Most christians and non christians have no desire to kill or covet or disrespect our parents. But it is the temptations generated by our own physical bodies and minds that is the enemy a constant source of temptation. We have to continuously remind ourselves that by Christ 's sacrifice, we are dead to sin, and we must unceasingly ask forgiveness for our failure to consistently cling to righteous being and thinking. God knows our weaknesses, so if we continue looking to Father God and Christ as we walk this path in the physical world, we will emerge victors.
