The law was given to Israel but let's set that aside.
You are right in that you say, "The Commandments must be kept" Israel couldn't obtain salvation thru the keeping of the law and neither can we.
Christ came to free us from the curse of the law, that doesn't mean he did away with The Law.
In the old covenant "under the law" there was sacrifices made for sin. Those sacrifices pointed ahead to the only sacrifice that could take away sin AND regenerate the believer by the Spirit. Hebrews 10:3-10.
The old covenant had no power over the incurable heart. The new covenant humbled the sinner and pointed him in the right direction. "CHRIST" Ezekiel 36:26-27. Jeremiah 31:31-33.
The old covenant slew us and is called the ministration of death. Romans 7:5-11. 2 Corinthians 3:6-14.
The new covenant gave mercy. Why mercy? Because no one could keep the law, and no one is able to do so today. Putting ourselves in chains and grinding our teeth while restraining from sin isn't keeping the law. Galatians 2:21.
The commandments given didn't say keep the commandments as best you can.
You're breaking the law in your heart You're still a sinner. There's no sanctification. Christ came to give new birth and a new heart accompanied with mercy and grace.
The second you broke any one of them you were forever lost if there was no sacrifice that could take away sin. Hebrews 10:1-5.
It was the sacrifices that pointed to Christ that made atonement for those sins.
Israel having God in their midst with all the providence showed the world that the heart of man is incurably wicked.
The law showed that there was a need of a savior that could regenerate the believer and give a new heart and life.
The commandments are Holy and was given to a nation that was set apart to show man with God in their midst was nothing like God being "IN" them.
That's what's available today.
Read Galatians 3:10-26.
Perhaps more on this later this weekend God bless."
Isaiah 11...Tells us about a knowledge that is gonna cover this earth as the waters cover the seas...In Isaiah 11:9....This Knowledge is an intimacy that is gonna result in a birth of Christ in us....Thats y Jesus was so solid on knowing us....He has to know us thats when the good seed is sown in our hearts...The words of that New Covenant are the good seeds....Thats y Jesus said the good seed are the words of God...impling Gods New Covenant...Thats y he has to know us....And this knowledge an (intimacy) that is gonna cover the earth as the waters cover the seas....Thats y Jeremiah saw all the world in travail and birth pains... Jeremiah 30:6....We are all gonna birth a baby Christ which is the H.G. that spirit of truth...Thats y he always refers to himself as the Son of man....Mankind has to bring forth fruit unto God... Romans 7:4 which is the HG. That Child of PROMISE...
.....Whosoever receiveth one such Child in my name receiveth me.... Rev 12 :5 She brought forth a man child that is gonna rule all nations...The Child is Spirit the H.G. ...the multiplication of Christ...That was the great Promise that Christ Jesus wd be multiplied as the stars of heaven...Thats y we refer to the H.G as the Child of Promise...he is the multiplication of Christ Jesus via his seed his breathe his words that are spirit and life....Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in....Plz note the kingdom of God does not come till the woman the world births the Manchild the H.G that Child of Promise REV.12:10...OK Lemme go....let me just add this 27 times in the O.T. the Prophets saw the world in travail and birth pains...ok...The world the woman is gonna be saved in child birth....The CHILD being the H.G.
Lorraine i just wanted to add one thing....Even if we do sin there is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit....There is no way we can be bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the words of God without getting a Tare which is Satans seed....Jesus tells us while men slept satan came and sowed Tares among the Wheat...And Jesus said to let them grow together till the Harvest....Thus we are gonna sin sometimes but there is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus....The reason there is no condemnation is simply b/c we cannot help it...Its the Tares that make us do it...Thats y Paul said if i do something i don't consent unto, its not i that does it but sin (the Tare) that is in my members.... Romans 7:16
.....Thats the good part, There is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus....Simply b/c its the Tares that make us do it...Thats y Jesus is saying we must endure to the end which is the Harvest when the Tares are gona be burnt to ashes....And we the Wheat the H.G. That Child of PROMISE are gona be taken to his barn...The Kingdom...But for now its Kingdom against Kingdom....war in Heaven b/c of the Tares...Satans seed....Just read Matthew 13:18 for a clear picture of the 2 seeds...The Wheat and the Tares...One will be taken and 1 will be left...k lemme go
I believe it's possibly scriptures mixed together that are actually separate. However the main point you're getting from it seems to be in Paul's letters to the Church in Corinthian: 1Corinthians 7, note 1Corinthians 7:10-17,
Mark 10:1-31, Luke 16:13-31, John 4:1-43, Ephesians 5:33, Romans 7:2, John 8:1-11
Please Lord God allow opportunities to be access able for Saw Myint Aung find support through this path of living that Saw Myint Aung is experiencing. I pray in Jesus Christ name that Saw Myint Aung comes to accept You Lord Jesus as Savior and the Holy Spirit will flow through with comfort and guidance!!
I don't know if you have a Bible or access to one, I would recommend this scriptures to reflect on: Psalms 23, 1 Peter 5:5-10, 2 Corinthians 7:10, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, Romans 10: 9-13, and Romans 7: 9-25.
I would also suggest finding a bible based church and support group based in faith in Jesus Christ that studying the bible and do activities that helps others. Idleness is a foothold to the devil.
When you say "Old testament law and it's requirements are not applicable more in newtestament the righteousness.
I wouldn't put it that way by no means.
Here's Law.
The fact that "RIGHTEOUSNESS" does not come by the law that doesn't mean the law was abolished.
And Christ death on the cross did not do away with the law.
The law condemned man because no one was able to keep the law so all mankind was under the penalty of death.
Christ took on the penalty and "PAYED THE PRICE". by death on the cross.
( Colossians 2:14. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;)
The law was the ministration of Death. "And still is"
2 Corinthians 3:7-16.
It was to show us our sin and bring us to Christ. Galatians 3:22-28.
Listen to Paul in Romans 7:7-14.
Also.
Galatians 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
So since you are justified by faith and made righteous by Christ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? No! not if you have been freed from bondage.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13
Romans 6:1-23.
James 2:18.
Jesus came to give you a new Heart. A heart of flesh.
If a person is truly saved he/she would have MORE written on their heart than what's written in the law.
There's things we don't do is sin also. James 4:17. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
I guess you mean something else when you say that God is a divorcee.
Before going to our topic of discussion let's see if divorce is allowed according to the Gospel, and if yes in which cases.
Matthew 5:31-32.
Here it says that the only reason divorce is allowed is due adultery, not for any other reason. If the pair separates for any other reason and gets married again to smb else then in God's eyes this is adultery. God does not accept the separation, for Him the pair are still married together nomatter what churches do.
Next question. I was divorced because my wife went with another guy, can I marry now to another woman?
Answer. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11. Verse 11 says that if a woman is divorced (permitted only due to adultery) then she must stay unmarried or go back to her husband. Same with men. No remarriage is allowed by the Lord even if the separation was legal by the Gospel.
There is only one case that remarriage can be accepted. Romans 7:1-3. Here it says only in the case that one of the pair dies the other person if free to marry again.
So lets go back to what we were discussing.
1. About children
The verses in Titus are clear. A believer can only be elder if his children are in faith. Do you believe that this can change after he has become an elder for sometime and now can remain an elder even if his children are gone away? So different things are required when one is to become an elder and when he has already became one? It doesn't seem right to me.
Deacons. Elders are selected from the body of deacons, that is why the requirements for both elders and deacons are precisely the same. 1 Timothy 3:1-13
Pastors. They are selected from the body of elders. Same requirements.
2. Wifes. The text says " husband of one wife". So it must be "one" and "a wife".
Definitely he must have (not had) a wife, not divorced, not a widower.
One wife means that he cannot keep his ministry if his wife has died or gone away from the house (or has left the faith).
Hiya Don GBU....But all the bibles in this world cd not redeem not even 1 man back to God....Don at Calvary, God made a new covenant with the blood of Jesus that Lamb of God....But God didn't use not 1 written word....That New COVENANT cd only be dedicated with the Blood of HIS lamb...Christ Jesus...the living Word made flesh and blood...All the bibles in this world can not help with this horrible demonic sin nature of murder and war etc.....Satan is still the god of this present World....I love the bible been reading the bible the KJV sinse i was 4.5 yrs old....But it has to be the living word....The written word is like a faraway lover...But the living WORD is the bridegroom himself and there is no other...We cannot bear fruit with a far away lover....WE can only be married to Christ the living word and bring forth fruit unto God.... Romans 7:4 kjv....I'M not saying the KJV has no value...The KJV can only be a friend of the bridegroom....Neva the bridegroom....We can only be married to Christ Jesus....Not paper and ink...And that fruit unto God is the H.G. THE MANCHILD that is gonna rule all nations...Thats y he has to know us..
......2 nd Cor. 3:6 - 9....Who has made us able ministers of the New Covenant...The New testament in his Blood....Not of the letter the written word for the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth us life....
Remember Moses had to wear a veil over his face b/c it was so glorious b/c of the law was the written word that had to be done away with Just think what its going to be like WHEN THAT BOOK IS OPENED....We are all gona have a Baby Christ....the H.G. that Child of PROMISE....GBU
Hello Oakley....There has to be an intimacy with Jesus and a seed has to be sown in our hearts....Thats y he has to KNOW us..There cannot be a heavenly birth without an intimacy....He wants to KNOW us...Thats y the sower wants to sow his precious seed in our hearts ....That a Child might be born in us...Which is the H.G. the Child of Promise....As that which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the H.G. our new heart and new spirit...our new innerman....The Kingdom....Unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in NO wise enter there in....He had to breathe on them b/f they cd receive the H.G....His breath was his Words his Seeds an intimacy...If he does not know us there will be no fruit unto God as Romans 7:4 says
......Thats y they refer to the H.G. as the Promise,..Simply b/c the H.G. is the multiplication of Christ Jesus via his seed sown in our hearts...The babes and sucklings he mentions which is the H.G. that has to be born in us via his seed..The living WORD.
.....Remember HANNAH ...Said for this Child i prayed and God has granted me my petition....Pray for the gift of the H.G. the Child of PROMISE....Peter was saying being bornagain of an incoruptible seed even by the Words of God that liveth and abideth forever.. 1st Peter 1:23.....And only Jesus can sow that precious seed in our hearts....ok GBU
David. Absolutely correct in our spirit when born again we can't sin but in the mind and flesh we can Romans 7:14-24. The context of John is the spirit not sinning
Brenda good question....But we must remember what Jesus said in John 10:29....My Father that gave them me is GREATER THEN ALL and NO MAN is able to pluck them out of my FATHER HANDS....While we were yet sinners Christ died for us...WE are not our own...We were all bought with a price...His blood of that New Covenant....In Rev. 5 there is a book that Jesus wrote with his own blood of a New Covenant....And His Blood is not eraseable....Thats y Roman 8 is saying there is therefore no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus....Even in the O.T....Once the Blood was applied to the mercy seat it cd not be erased or washed away for 1 yr it was an annual thing.... but now under this NEW Covenant its for all the world for eternity
.....We are bornagain by his LIVING WORDS...And Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away but MY WORDS WILL NEVA PASSAWAY....Our conduct does not keep us simply b/c of Satan and his Tares makes us do things we donot consent unto....As Paul said if i do something i do not consent unto its not i that does it but sin that dwells in my Members.. Romans 7:6 kjv....Thus Satan will tell you O YOU HAVE SINNED THUS YOUR NAME IS BLOTTED OUT OF HIS BOOK...But thats not true simply b/c there is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit...
There is no man that is stronger then God Almighty God including the devil ....And Jesus said my Father that gave them to me is greater then all and no man can pluck them out of my FATHERS HANDS....PERIOD....Thus Jesus will not lose any of his sheep
There are some who mention the fact that we have passed from death to life ( 1 John 3:14); and other verses justifying that we have already experienced the "first resurrection". This; again is an eschatological attempt at justifying that there is no Millennial period (i.e. the church age fulfills all the prophecies); which is not the focus of analysis here.
There is validity in seeing the basic principle of Genesis 2:17 and its repercussions. Clearly; there was immediate spiritual death that occurred; and a later physical death that resulted from the ensuing corruption to the flesh that the fall set in motion. For a believer; we are sealed until the day of redemption ( Ephesians 4:30). He promises never to "leave or foresake us" ( Deut. 31:8; Hebrews 13:5).
We have a great "cloud of witnesses" ( Heb. 12:1-2) that are further described in the chapter. We have a High Priest now that ever intercedes ( Heb. 7:25 and other verses in that book). The basic idea here is that we are always "married to Christ" ( Romans 7:4). Because of these promises; we see that our physical resurrection si merely a process; simply in reverse of what happened in the garden. Our glorification is simply a done deal in God's mind after salvation along with sanctification ( Romans 8:30). In God's eyes; we were known from eternity and part of His plan ( Genesis 3:15). Therefore; it is all grace that saved Adam's helpless race.
PROPHECY you are right Jesus said the field is the world where that good seed will be sown...Not just Israel....By 1 spirit are we all baptised into the body of Christ whether we be Jew or Gentile...Bond or free ....thus the woman is truly the world...Remember God so loved the world....Jesus said the field is the world where that good seed will be sown....Thus the Woman is the world....Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature...Sowing that good seed the word in the hearts of anybody that hears.... Romans 7:4....We must be married to Christ and bring forth FRUIT unto God....Which is the H.G. the Child of Promise..
.....Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child ( the manchild ) the H.G. ..Mankinds fruit unto God, You will in no wise enter in....After the woman births the child...V 10 .....Now is come salvation and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ etc....The Woman was impregnated by the Good seed of Christ the words of God..the new covenant....Who is my Mother Jesus asked ? the woman ....them that hears my words (seeds ) and keeps them....Thats y he has to know us....Jesus knew this woman ....Thats when the good seed is sown in her heart...Jew and Gentile a like...The world....The Israel of God.... Gal 6:16...Old Israel is the 144,000.....But the Israel of God ( Christ seed ) The contents of the book that he wrote with his own blood,... is that number that no man can number of all nations tongues ppls and kindreds...and they sang a new song...saying thou art worthy....If i be lifted up i will draw ALL men unto me...The world...The Israel of God....God Almighty Promised Christ I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven....Thus the woman with Child...everybody....The world...gbu
Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit all exhibit the uniqueness attributable only to God, even though each is somehow spoken of as separate from God. God is Triune and therefore difficult for humans to understand. Humans also have divisions that are not easily understandable, although not separate entities like the Trinity of God. We have spirits, souls, and bodies, and they 3 are one, as we see in 1 John 5:
1 John 5:8
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Another reference to the divisions in men is found in Hebrews 4:
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Another example can be gleaned from Romans 7:
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
The Law was given to Israel. The law given was to convict us of sin.
2 Corinthians 3:6-14.
Galatians 3:11-13.
Romans 7:4-5.
Romans 7:9-10.
Some aspects of the Law such as the Sabbath pointed to Christ work on the Cross that would free us from the curse of the Law. " Death"
Colossians 2:11-17.
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH DAYS:
HERE'S. THE KEY IN VERSE 17.
Vs.17) "Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."
Israel "as a nation" regects Christ work on the cross so as of now the have yet to join in that rest.( Yet they honor the Sabbath!)
Please study Hebrews 4:2-11.
That rest comes after salvation. Not to obtain it.
If one wants to observe the sabbath go ahead, but if you do it to earn salvation you fall in the same unbelief as Israel.
The Galatians was warned of the same thing in Galatians 5:4. "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."
Salvation is not for sell its a gift. Ephesians 2:8-9. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The "Age of Accountability" matter has come up here before, where someone asked what that age might be - he/she suggested 8 yrs of age, if I remember. Various answers were given, from age 5 to teen years. My understanding of the 'age of accountability', which would differ between children, is the age when the child knows that he has committed sin, that sin is both wrong and is accountable before God, and the child needs to recognize that his sin has separated him from God. And then, to understand the message of the Gospel, to repent, & to receive Christ. If this doesn't happen at this 'early' age, then there will be many children going to Hell without receiving Christ & being born again. Sin is sin, no matter our age - when we do wrong & display our carnal nature, we are accountable for it - there isn't a time of grace where manifested sin is overlooked.
So, when you asked, "So you do not believe in the scriptural "Age of Accountability"?", I do believe in an 'age of accountability', but unsure what you mean by the "scriptural Age of Accountability". Is there one even given, or does that age not actually represent an age in years, but an age of understanding & giving an heart-felt response? Those living in Jesus' Day & under the Law, were taught from childhood about the Law, obedience to it, of God's Character, & days to be observed. They lived under the Law & by it God judged them. After the crucifixion, the Law was abrogated, the Law that only brought death ( Romans 7:10). "for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law" ( Galatians 3:21) & there wouldn't have been a need for Jesus' Death. So, I simply share this to highlight that, pre-Cross, the Hebrew child was taught the Law, of sin & urged to keep the Law (age was of no concern). Post-Cross, the child is alerted when wrong is committed (i.e. God's Law is broken), but now there is an immediate solution found in the Cross, & faith in Jesus.

Part 3.
In Acts 15 the Disciples have a counsel on whether the Gentiles should be circumcised and keep the law, then Peter stands up to address the matter. Acts 15:7-11. Here you have the apostle Peter "A Jew" saying in verse 11, we Jews shall be saved in the same manner as the Gentiles! (By faith) "He's declaring "we jews have to come to the Lord by a new covenant".
This is the new birth spoken by Jesus in John 3:5 when speaking to Nicodemus. This is that which is spoken in
Jeremiah 31:31-34.
So here we have a new birth that provides a new nature that is generated by the Holyspirit. You see aspects of this in
Romans 6:1-23. Also, this is what is meant in John 4:21-24.
Here we have the quickening spirit by the second Adam that gives life under a new covenant where the old covenant brought death to the fleshly descendants of the first Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45-50. and 2 Corinthians 5:1-6.
Ephesians 2:1-5 sums it up.
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
"AGAIN We're not talking about "Justification" we're talking about sanctification. Romans 5:1-21 handles justification.
GRAFTED INTO THE VINE BY THE RESURECTION OF CHRIST.
John 15:1-5.
Romans 6:6.
Now take these chapters in order-
Romans 6:1-23.
Romans 7:1-25.
Romans 8:1-39.
We are Justified and Sanctified by the blood of Christ and given a new nature under a new covenant that bares fruit by the power of the Holyspirit.

Part 2.
Let me pause for a second to say this is not a message on whether we keep the commandments or not. This is about the nature of the Un generated heart of man apart from Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit by those who are in Christ.
When speaking of the law we think of the writings of Moses and the commandments, etc.
Let's take a look at the purpose of the law and the effects and condition of those under it.
THE PURPOSE OF THE LAW.
Galatians 3:24.
Also take a look at Romans 7:7 .... (I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.)
THE EFFECTS AND CODITION OF THOSE UNDER THE LAW.
Here in Romans 7:23. we have Paul describing the warring of the old nature and the new nature in a believer.
"But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."
Here in Romans 8:3-7. we have a picture of the flesh held captive by the curse of the law.
(For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,)
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN BE.
THE LAWS CONCLUSION.
So, the law showed us our fallen and sinful condition, and the law also couldn't change the heart of man that's why we have to be born from above. This is what the new birth does and how it is in relationship to baptism. As seen Galatians 3:24-27.
I've understood it to be similar to Simon called Peter: Matthew 4:18, Matthew 10:2, different than Acts 8:9, & Luke, Acts 10:18, Acts 13:1, Acts 13:9, Acts 14:2, notice in Acts, the same book, there are multiple names referenced even a wind, Acts 27:14, Acts 27:8, Hebrews 11:18,
Matthew 1:6 Jesus called Christ, John 4:25, Luke 6:15, John 1:42, John 11:16, not Colossians 4:11,
Romans 2:17, Romans 7:3, same supposed writer as Acts , also Romans 9:26
Matthew 26:14, Luke 23:33, John 19:13, John 19:17, Acts 6:9, Revelation 11:8,
Revelation 12:9,
Luke 2:4, Luke 8:2, John 21:2, different than Acts 9:11,
Dear "William Bennett", i do not want to immerse myself in different food laws. And the question may be interesting. Eat everything to the glory of God! There is great confusion and many words come to me when you mention this. But you will probably get answers from others who are more familiar with the law itself. First Peter's vision Acts 10. If you read the whole chapter, you will see that we are all today set free from the law. Therefore, nothing is unclean. Only that which comes out of a man is unclean. Matthew 15:11
Free from the law Galsatians 2:16 Romans 7:1-6
God bless u and yours in Jesus name, love u in Christ.
Dear "Robert DeHaan", in peace. You're probably not the only one who's becoming a TV slave these days. I myself try to do what the Lord expects of me. Read and pray for all people, rulers, kings and Israel, peace be upon Jerusalem. And you probably do too.
Everything takes its time, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Even though we are retired, time is short. It goes so fast during the day, suddenly one has passed, the month has passed, the year has passed. But i think we should comfort ourselves with: Romans 1:16-17 for example. Then i can thank the Lord that. That time is over. Young people's hustle and bustle and think of everything they should have and done.
See in the conscience, is it good? All good hopefully. But i wish i could spend all my time with the Lord. It will be as our dear Paul says, Romans 7:19
Then it's good to come here on the web and know we have someone who has it like us. Pray and be present. There is always something. Witness outside standing, as soon as i get an opportunity in time and out of time. 2 Timothy 4:2 and continue to pray. Ill think it is a service, and could sit back and be the one present. Always ready and reach out a hand, in Jesus name right? That is the hope we have, to be enveloped in the love of God in Jesus Christ now and forever.
Stand strong brother and if i cant see u in this life. I see u in next. God bless us in Jesus name, Love u in Christ.
Romans 10:2-5: "For I bear them record that they (Israel) have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them."
Again, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth". To all who put their trust in Jesus, Christ's coming ended the Law that should have brought righteousness but failed. Nothing wrong with the Law - the problem was with man. The Law failed to achieve it - but faith in Christ & a new birth did, ending the demands of the Law that only brought death.
And there can't be any syncretism, coming under both the Law & under God's Grace. We cannot be justified by the Law - even keeping or trying to keep one Law & still claim Grace. Galatians 5:4; Romans 4:13,14. And the keeping of the Sabbath is just one of the ten Laws. Whoever wants to keep the Law is bound to keep them perfectly (all ten of them) James 2:10 - and there remains no avenue to claim Grace when under the Law.
May we walk in the Spirit, obeying the Spirit, that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us ( Romans 8:4) and not bound to the letter ( Romans 7:6; 2 Corinthians 3:6). The Sabbath Rest is not found in a day set aside for physical rest, but in a Person Whom we have sanctified in our hearts & lives. Blessings.
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 7:15
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Romans 7:16
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Romans 7:17
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:18
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Romans 7:19
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Romans 7:20
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:21
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Romans 7:22
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Romans 7:23
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Romans 7:24
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Romans 7:25
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
1 Peter 4:1
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1 Peter 4:2
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
Colossians 3:1
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Fully agree bro Giannis. In respect to Colossians 2:14, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross", I would also add Ephesians 2:15, "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace".
Whether referring to the "handwriting of ordinances" or "the law of commandments contained in ordinances", you would know that the same word is used, 'dogmasin' (decrees, edicts, ordinances). It's sometimes claimed that only those 'other' commandments have been abolished by virtue of the Cross & not the Decalogue. Though there was nothing wrong or at fault with any of God's Commandments ( Romans 7:12), it's present application & implications have ceased, because Christ's Sacrifice has nailed it ALL on the Cross. If they were still applicable & to be obeyed to prove obedience, then it shows that Jesus' Death didn't work towards salvation & God's Gift of Grace is a non-event & the whole Plan was a failure. ( Romans 8:3).
But our only attendance now is to Jesus & to His Spirit Who brings out the fullness of God's Requirements for His Blood-bought, giving us both the desire & power to learn & apply them to every situation in life. Therefore, sins of murder, theft, adultery, etc. are no longer clear finite physical acts of transgression, but now the Spirit tells us that they find their root in the heart & can even encompass a much wider range of applications than what is implied in the Decalogue. Jesus came to deal with the heart of sin, not the head knowledge of it. Using any of the commandments as a yardstick of our obedience has limited use for knowledge of Jewish laws & requirements. They have no bearing on the Jew or Gentile who has come to the Cross & under the New Covenant ( Hebrews 8:6,7,13). Blessings brother.
Christian Marriage and Divorce - In Reply - 2 years ago
1 Corinthians 7
(Is a good chapter to understand the Lord's views on marriage and divorce.)
Comment: Christian marriages are not the same as marriages between unbelievers. (the world system). That's why we enter into a covenant of marriage soberly.
In Jewish culture the couple are betrothed for one year before the marriage. It's time to get to know one another. The bride-to-be would cook dinners for her betrothed and the family.
Commentaries:
Wesley's Notes for Matthew 5:31
Let him give her a writing of divorce - Which the scribes and Pharisees allowed men to do on any trifling occasion. # Deut 24:1; Matt 19:7; Mark 10:2; Luke 16:18.
People's Bible Notes for Matthew
Mt 5:31,32 Whosoever shall put away his wife. The divorce laws were very lax among the Jews. A man could put away his wife "for any cause" ( Matthew 19:8). Moses directed a legal letter of divorcement ( Deuteronomy 24:1).
Christ positively forbids divorce except for unchastity. Marriage is a divine institution, and the obligation is for life.
ELB, thanks for your message. I stand by the phrase "doing our (my) best to follow Him every day". Following Jesus is not easy and won't be in this realm. Adam took care of that and you and I and all of mankind have been paying the price of sin ever since. That's why He asked in Luke 6, why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things I say? He then goes on to say those who hear my sayings and does them are like the man who built his house on the rock. Then there's Ananias in Acts 9 who was told to go pray for Saul/Paul that He might show him those things Paul must suffer for His name.
Finally, in Romans 7:14-25, Paul relates the 'battle' that happens every day in all of us. The spirit versus the flesh. Thank God I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. But I have to persevere and not wander off or go back to the former self prior to conversion as Demas did to Paul in 2 Tim. 4:10. You're right when you say it's not my strength or ability, but Jesus. I have to choose Him daily. Not to be born again, mind you, but determined to follow Him, no matter what. I don't want to be like those who left following Him as recorded in John 6:66. Thanks for your time...
As one who lived after Christ and the preaching of the Gospel, I agree with your point of view in your post.
In my post on Exodus 19 I was commenting from a viewpoint of these people who lived prior to our Savior's coming and the preaching of the gospel. Paul also says that the Law itself is holy, just, and good. Romans 7:12. But our sinful nature opposes what is given to us in God's holy, just, and good decrees, leading us to break these commands. Our rebellious sin brings death because our disobedience to the law condemns us. Even so, I believe that we should view the Law as Paul did, as a good thing given by God for his perfect purposes. It does not save us, but it does instruct us in what God's moral character is like and how perfect He is.
In this account in Exodus YHWH displays His awesomeness to the Israelites. It results in terror among the people and they vow to follow what He asks of them. But we know that they will fail to do this again and again, just as we do the same. Through their time wandering in the desert and up to their captivity in Babylon and Assyria, the Israelites continued to turn away from God and return to Him repeatedly. Through this they could have learned of His love, mercy and forgiveness for them. But, as history reveals, the people became more focused on the requirements of law-keeping than on knowing and following God Who gave them the Law out of His goodness. Jesus addressed this issue often with the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, and Priests. Their hearts were hardened and were unable to receive their promised Messiah and the salvation that He wrought for them.
This event on and around Sinai has many lessons for us to learn. The Law(Sinai) reveals our sinfulness and inability to be perfect as God is perfect. It reveals our need for Savior. The condemnation of the Law on our sin drives us to seek Grace (Zion) where we can receive salvation-forgiveness of sins, right standing before God, and eternal life.

God bless.
GBU
......2 nd Cor.
Which is incorruptible i.e. eternal. And I can't take back being born of my
Parents Why would an all loving God reject a child of His I.E. us when we make
A mistake or sin. I have children who did stuff not of my approval but they
Are still my children. Now your right the wages of sin or broken fellowship
Is death physically, now when not in fellowship operating by the spirit were
Not walking by the spirit t that does not take away the sonship part of it because Jesus Christ
Paid for eternal life. So we are no longer sinners ones who have no connection
To God we are saints born again and headed to heaven and are no longer
Judged after the flesh. Now if a person decides to still live by the flesh not
God's Fault he did his job yeah let God be true in all that he does man is not.
Also remember the gift is grace now it's the receivers responsibility
Not the giver God completed us in Christ it's up to the individual to walk in newness
Of life or the old man nature Romans 7:15-25. The tremendous aspect of the
New birth is we still have freedom of will to walk by the revealed word i.e. the
Spirit or the old man nature choice we will still be rewarded for what we did right
At the bema all other works not judged because Christ paid for that.
......Thats y they refer to the H.G. as the Promise,..Simply b/c the H.G. is the multiplication of Christ Jesus via his seed sown in our hearts...The babes and sucklings he mentions which is the H.G. that has to be born in us via his seed..The living WORD.
.....Remember HANNAH ...Said for this Child i prayed and God has granted me my petition....Pray for the gift of the H.G. the Child of PROMISE....Peter was saying being bornagain of an incoruptible seed even by the Words of God that liveth and abideth forever.. 1st Peter 1:23.....And only Jesus can sow that precious seed in our hearts....ok GBU
Because it is perfect.
.....We are bornagain by his LIVING WORDS...And Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away but MY WORDS WILL NEVA PASSAWAY....Our conduct does not keep us simply b/c of Satan and his Tares makes us do things we donot consent unto....As Paul said if i do something i do not consent unto its not i that does it but sin that dwells in my Members..
Therefore; it is all grace that saved Adam's helpless race.
.....Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child ( the manchild ) the H.G. ..Mankinds fruit unto God, You will in no wise enter in....After the woman births the child...V 10 .....Now is come salvation and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ etc....The Woman was impregnated by the Good seed of Christ the words of God..the new covenant....Who is my Mother Jesus asked ? the woman ....them that hears my words (seeds ) and keeps them....Thats y he has to know us....Jesus knew this woman ....Thats when the good seed is sown in her heart...Jew and Gentile a like...The world....The Israel of God....
I concur Steve.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
I hope this helps.
God bless.
God bless.

Free from the law Galsatians 2:16 Romans 7:1-6
God bless u and yours in Jesus name, love u in Christ.
Blessings.
Romans 7:14
1 Peter 4:1
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Romans 7:19
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Romans 7:20
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:25
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 15:33
Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

1 Corinthians 7:10-17
