Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, it is not subject to the things of God and can ever be. We have to ask the lord to place his righteousness on us, Isaiah 64:6 we are as an unclean thing, and our righteousness are filthy rags. Let us keep our mind on the things of the spirit, we cannot want to please God and do the things of the flesh, we have to crucify the flesh.

Jesus always loves contrary to the worlds standards in terms of individuals he so chooses that also necessarily choose Him. Even our shameful nakedness could not make him turn away. Regarding sin. We are exposed. Our physical bodies in its flaws. Exposed. Allof our unattractiveness. Completely noticeable and apparent. Yet nothing can separate us from His all-powerful love.

"The whole human race deserved destruction..." We hear this kind of preaching a lot; and I have to admit, I too have parroted this idea. But we should really pay attention to the meaning in so many of the Lord's parables, about lost sheep, lost sons, etc. and the love and tender mercy of God, and His view of a lost and sinning world! Neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more! Freely forgiven!

Election:God determined who be saved Man doesn’t seek after Rom 3:11

The whole human race deserved destruction; but for reasons not perfectly known to us, God determined to recover some by regeneration and the power of his grace. He predestinated, or before decreed, that they should be conformed to the image of his Son. In this life they are in part renewed, and walk in his steps.

On Election: We need to understand God determined who would be saved not man

The whole human race deserved destruction; but for reasons not perfectly known to us, God determined to recover some by regeneration and the power of his grace. He predestinated, or before decreed, that they should be conformed to the image of his Son. In this life they are in part renewed, and walk in his steps.

We must have the Spirit of Christ in order to please God. Jesus makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. The Lord has a masterful plan of salvation. The depth of God's knowledge is captivating and inspiring. Most of all, it shows his saving grace and the infinite love God has for mankind.

    B) While there are verses within this chapter that we all have memorized and like to quote often, it is important for those who have been deeply scarred by a sinful past to remember that each and every verse in this chapter is specifically addressing the redeemed spirit that is residing in a body that is yet to be redeemed! And there are no exceptions. This is true from verse 1 to verse 39!

What a wonderful promise we have, from our creator! God the Father, Son n Holy Ghost, that in all thing we can overcome our trials n temptation, be it sicknesses, family, job or whatever is troubling you. We can beat this through God who loves us. Just have faith in him who loves you
  • Rhona Livingstone on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
You know this verse is so appropriate all the time but today its so significant. It has brought back to memory how we are not to stress ourselves. Why? As it plainly states in all these things. What things? Everything the good the bad the disappointments, in friends and family we have to take a step back and ponder on the word. Even in those situations when the enemy comes to take away your hopes and joy that we are strong in God and He has our backs and we can conquer all things, but only with His help. Sometimes its hard to do so but we cannot give up or give in. We are strong and created in His image and we are conquerors in Jesus name. The most High God. Amen? So be strong and stay strong through it all. We are winners.

Steve and Jeff (cont.); What can be the most frustrating for those who really want to help and guide the other back to soundness and health in the LORD; is that they tend to build a hard shell like a turtle and hide from every one who wants to talk sensibly to them. Then also you have others scrutinizing YOUR motives and words, instead of rather supporting the rescue efforts of the erring brother.

Steve; You are right with your concerns! I think it is a fairly common trick of the devil, that apparently works very well, to allure a young man by flattering him, when he might be just beginning to understand some truth; by telling him that his superior spirituality and brain capacity has found a methodology for making all Scripture mean only what they "think" they know; making them unteachable.
  • A disciple on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
Jeff; I'm afraid that the hardest ones to reason with are those who have an idea in which they think EVERY Scripture is a coded message locked up to everyone else but them, for they have the key. Unknown to these is the fact obvious to the rest of us, is that they have isolated themselves from all of God's counsel and the whole of His Doctrine. They think that everything means what only they know!

    Alex, what/who replaces the church?
  • Steve on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
Alex, replacement theology is replacing the only way to the Father with something other than our Lord and Savior, Jesus. I think you are in error comparing the old covenant with the covenant of Grace.
  • Alex on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
Concerning his Mother Mary a woman greatly blessed, but she was just a metaphor for the Church that is gonna birth Christ when that woman was praising Mary saying blessed is the womb that bare thee and the paps you have sucked Jesus said MORE blessed are them that hear the word and keeps it His word is the good seed that is gonna form Christ in US. Who is my MOTHER?THEM THAT HEAR TH WORD N KEEPS IT
  • A disciple on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
Alex; NO, Sarah was the chosen mother, for she was the wife of Abraham; Sarah did not replace Hagar! The matter concerning Hagar was a Satan-inspired thought to overthrow the Promise of the Saviour to come through Sarah. Hagar and Ishmael are the usurpers and have ever since been the haters and persecutors of Israel. A "Replacement" assumes that the one was first chosen, which she was NOT!
  • Alex on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
Hiya Disciple yes Sarrah did REPLACE Hagar God said cast out the bond woman n her son, she shall not be heir with the free Woman,But its gets deeper N better Just as Issac was formed in Sarrah. But now Christ is gonna be formed in US VIA THE GOOD SEED Ya gotta realize that now th CHURCH REPLACES Mary MY LIL CHILDREN OF WHOM I TRAVAIL IN BIRTH TILL CHRIST BE FORMED IN YOU NOW WE ARE HIS MOTHER. GBU

Christ the 2nd Adam came to redeem the children of the 1st Adam. Sarah didn't replace Hagar; Hagar was a bondwoman and her son a heathen usurper. Sarah and Isaac were the chosen and anointed family of Promise. The shedding of blood of animals was done for pointing to Christ, and accepted for atonement only in that light; it never had power in itself to cleanse the conscience of the worshiper.

We see replacement theology all thru the bible. 2 nd adam replaces 1st adam, issac replaced ishmael, sarrah replaced hagar, Samuel a child replaced wicked Eli, king david replaced king saul, th new covenant replaces the old covenant, new jerusalem replaces old jerusalem, the blood of christ replaces the blood of animals, LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD IS REPLACED BY A NEW PRIESTHOOD AFTER MELCHEZEDEC, GBU
  • Jeff Berry on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
    C) "There is therefore now...". But "now" he says. "Now" There is a new law (ie., a new principle). A principle that he refers to as "the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus" (8:2). He continues to say that this "law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made" us "free from the" old "law of sin and death." He then spends the rest of chapter 8 elaborating.
  • A disciple on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
Jeff; AMEN Brother! "Those of us" know very well how much we hurt ourselves and others by sinning, before we repented and were truly converted! It is written, Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed..And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: Ezekiel 16:61-63 We are now clean through the Word which Jesus has spoken unto us; but now have to fight!
  • Jeff Berry on Romans 8 - 7 years ago
    D) Now, while no blood washed child of God walks away from a "sinful" past without a scar, I believe there are those of us that are so deeply scarred that living a victorious life seems to be an ever elusive dream. For that one, the dream of living a victorious life can only become a reality once he fully understands that he is a redeemed spirit residing in a yet to be redeemed body!
