Angelia: Verse 11: Esau is Hated Before He is Born. Before Doing Bad or Good. Therefore hath He Mercy on Whom He will have Mercy( Romans 9:18-24) --- He Hath Chosen Us in Him Before The Foundation of The World, that We should be Holy and without Blame Before Him in Love(Ephesians1:4) Right now It's Very Hard to Understand. He Knew from The Beginning Who would be in Hell.
  • Angelia on Romans 9 - 5 years ago
I strongly believe God gives us choices to be loyal/faithful to him but after he has given us so many chances he backs off and let us become the owner of our own fate. This is when we can say referring back to Romans 9:13 that hate steps in. I think it becomes hate of our evil doing not hate toward us as a person people often get confused with this verse.

I hate to burst your bubble, but The Most High does not love everyone! Read Romans 9:13

Yes, but Knowing He Does, and then Committing Sin Anyway, He May not. He Might let Your Heart to be Harden. This chapter clearly shows that god chooses his elect. Not all who call their self Christians are saved. God will have mercy on who HE chooses. Many are called, FEW ARE CHOOSEN!lll

I am sharing this because I believe in Jesus to help me to share this.

The stumblingblock from verses 30-33, is not Jesus. Jesus cannot be the stumblingblock because he is our salvation. He did everything in his power as God's own Son, to help us believe in him. If we don't take him at his word, that is the stumblingblock. God bless.

  • Frances Matthews on Romans 9 - 6 years ago
God is still in control of the Remnant, I believe God said there is no respect of person, He whom gives his heart completely to God through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, being born again, and have become a new creature in the Lord, will be in the remnant, Jews, Greeks ,Blacks ,Whites, all of God's people, for God said he has sheep of another fold that He will bring, will be in the Remnant.

It is by Election and Mercy from God not of works that you are choosen by him or receive good things
  • A disciple on Genesis 33 - 6 years ago
Romans 9:13 "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." The Election of God is a stumbling block to the proud men of the world who oppose and reject the Testimony of Jesus Christ. Beginning with Cain, this has been the flashpoint of the heathen's rage, and all their ideology to deny the Saviour and take away the knowledge of the truth from the minds of men. Jacob held the Calling of God sacred!

This is certainly not the first time I read this chapter, but as our living circumstances change so the word of God is recognized according to our needs. I find more so in recent times that I come to question the reckless speech, conduct and indulgence of persons who were raised having the privilege to attend Sunday School, people who have been taught the word of God as children.
  • James on Romans 10 - 6 years ago
Wonderful that it is Christ who saves through his death and resurrection. Although it is correct to be humble and sincere when coming to God through Christ the emphasis should solely be on his death and resurrection. Romans 9:16 “ So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” God bless you all and Praise to Almighty God for his grace and mercy.

Just as isaac was the child of Promise under the old covenant, under the new covenant it THE HG. that is the child of Promise which is the N.B. IMMANUEL God with us,the multiplication of Abraham was just a metaphor for the multiplication of very God in humanity via the seed of the sower which is our new man, he is not born of the will of man nor of blood nor flesh but of the will of God th PROMISE
  • Alex on Romans 9 - 7 years ago
Romans 9 tells us that ITS the children of Promise that are counted for the good seed, the children of the flesh are NOT the children of God, its the children of Promise that are THE good seed, which are them that are born of the SPIRIT,ETC the seed of Christ his seed being the WORD that is gonna be sown in us resulting in a birth of Christ in us, Immanuel GOD WITH US thus NEW INNERMAN th PROMISE

  • Peter A. Okebukola on Romans 9 - 7 years ago
Several key messages in this chapter- I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay make one vessel unto honour, another unto dishonour?

Romans 9:12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 1 Timothy 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father and the younger men as brethren. 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble

God saw that Jews were more Holy. Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: If God sees a remnant in Jews, then there's got to be lest Gentiles that believe in Jesus Christ.

Verses 22 and 23 bring out how Jehovah God's endurance has allowed the gathering of many faithful ones.

These are the two sons of God, Israel his first born and Christianity his second born, each physical child reveals the spiritual child, the first born to Abraham Ishmael the second Isaac, God's first born son Israel, his second born Christianity, this is what is being taught here as the Apostle also taught in Galatians 4:21-31 in an allegory
  • Irene123 on Romans 9 - 7 years ago
LaToya, 3/25/'14, V.3; God didn't hate Esau, God never hated even Hitler. God hates the SIN. Esau's sin was his self-righteousness in offering vegetables instead of a blood sacrifice; Heb. 9:22. God instituted blood sacrifice for sin in Gen. 3:21. The yearly blood sacrifice thereafter pointed to Jesus blood sacrifice ONCE FOR ALL. That's why God allowed the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D.cont
