If every husband and wife would obey Titus 2:3-5 85 % of the Worlds problems would be solved but even to the shame of "Christians" who "love the things of this world" more than Christ husbands put their wives under double headship instead of being keepers at home.75 yrs 4 children 31 grandchildren 42 greatgrands 28 grands saved and ggrands being brought up in the way the should go..and it works!

Steve Morrow; YES! AMEN! "Love wasn't put in your heart to stay: love isn't love until you give it away." So too GRACE: like wisdom, it must be in action and a living principle how we direct our behavior, our words, and our thoughts. Grace isn't grace merely in word or wishful thinking, or some undefinable abstract concept, like the heathen purport against Christians. It is a real work of power!

This verse actually comes to me in a great need to illustrate God's love to someone important to me. It will help him to understand why I try to get him to always do the right thing, no matter what, and even in making mistakes, there can be good that comes of learning from them.
  • Brianna vs. 13-14 on Titus 2 - 7 years ago
These verses help us to remember to be patient. Reflecting on vs. 14 will help us to be joyful while we wait. It tells us of the blessings in store for those who keep their integrity. Soon, we will be set free from every form of sin, lawlessness, and suffering.

Thank God for His word, many in the body see the command for man to love their wives but fail to point out how God gives instruction for the wives to love their husbands... Titus 2:4
  • Goodluck Oghagbon on Titus 2 - 7 years ago
The contents in this chapter 2 of Titus, is a call to Christians to live a life that is void of any thing that will tarnish the image of God in us. Looking intently at verses 11

Insight; Again, Aren't you reading the Chapters all the way through? or the couple dozen other places where Jesus talks about Hell? The Angels shall go forth and sever the wicked from among the just, and gather them in "bundles to be burned;" that sounds like HURT to me! The bad are going to be thrown away into everlasting punishment wailing and gnashing of teeth. Do you think that won't hurt?
  • Insight777 on Titus 2 - 7 years ago
V13, Jesus did not teach that God would be appearing with him when he returns to earth.
Yes, Jesus will return and with angels to help him. Matthew 13:4 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, ."
They are collecting people not hurting people. Separating the good. No one can see God at any time and live, His energy is intense.
  • Redeemed on Titus 2 - 7 years ago
Titus 2;11-14 I love the fact that Jesus is the grace of God that brings salvation and that he is my teacher that teaches me how to live in this world as he is my example as i keep my eye single focused on one thing the Light, the one who redeemed me from all my sin and has and is purifying unto himself a peculiar person who is in love with my Saviour and wants his will to be done in my life.
  • Evangelist Ernest Ndamnsa on Titus 2 - 7 years ago
If we major on the mark and care less about the contex of Titus 2, we will not be of help to the passage but missed out the truth about the Elects of God.
  • Irene123 on Titus 2 - 7 years ago
    V. 11 - the grace of bringeth - salvation ( Acts 2:38. THEN with grace, we are able to continue on in obeying His commandments, Jn.14:15. These commandments are in the Epistles (letters) following the Book of Acts. The epistles are to ALREADY established churches; they are instructions in righteous living for God. They are God's (Jesus) words given to the apostles, not mans words.
  • Bruce on Titus 2 - 8 years ago
Joan: good question! The answer is easy and heartbreaking. Most churches today are in a sea of darkness, they're dead. They're nothing more than a social club. The unsaved don't know they're on a path to hell. These churches look and sound good. The Lord said these things will be in the end times! Read Matthew7:13, John6:44, ll Corinthians5:17

  • Lu2677 on Titus 2 - 8 years ago
Joan, you asked"are we missing the mark" One cannot deny ungodliness (verse 12) if one does not know what godliness is. One cannot deny worldly lusts, (verse 12) if one does not live in the Truth, Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life. All of Titus 2 is speaking to God's elect. "The mark is missed," when one is following the flesh and not living by faith.
  • Joan on Titus 2 - 8 years ago
If we are truly living for God,why are so many people not following the admonition in Titus2:12?we are missing the mark

  • Wayne on Titus 2 - 8 years ago
Let no man despise thee. Hypocrisy. A person, especially Christians, are despised when they do not follow their own preaching. Say one thing, do another. Speak righteousness, do evil in their lives. And are seen by others.

No, women are not to be pastors in the New Testament. Every time you find mention of a bishop ( 1 Timothy 3:1-9; Titus 1:7) it is referring to a male. Even when you read the postscript on some of the epistles it will list the bishop's name and it is always a male. God has set forth an order in the home and the church ( 1 Cor. 11:3). The only commandment for women to teach is found in Titus 2:3.

I think that Titus 2 speaks sound doctrine. If ALL of us on this planet followed the scripture, Titus 2, this world as we know it today, would be less dysfunctional.

  • Mine' on Titus 2 - 9 years ago
Titus 2 speaks about the behavior of a believer, but it isn 't seen much. The world doesn 't see them much neither. When I drive on the interstate and notice that drivers do not obey the law, I wonder where God 's people are? How is it that the world is not seeing our example? This is a very important chapter to all believers, God is watching, and He wants us to make a difference in everything we do.

I want to be filled with doctrine because it comes from the Scripture and the Scriptures are Spirit Jn 6:63 and learning doctrine from those Spirit words will fill a Christian with the Spirit. Doctrine is important to God. Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 1 Timothy 1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine 1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound DOCTRINE but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears

  • Rev. Autrey on Titus 2 - 10 years ago
Verse 13 "Looking forward to that wonderful time we 've been expecting, when his glory shall be seen, the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. " This verse calls Jesus both our great God and our Savior. This proves that God and Jesus are one and the same. It can be no other way. If we say it is not, then, we are saying there are two Gods, one we call God, and another we call Jesus. This is not a Christian doctrine. What we are talking about is self identity. You can have as many self identities or personalities as you like and still remain you. God has three self identities or personalities the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But Jesus is always the personality through whom God speaks to us. That is why he says that he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. This means that he is the way God speaks to us, and no one else is. That 's why he warns us against trying to bypass him and get to the Father. Such prayrs always remain unanswered. With God 's love!
  • Abel Subramony on Titus 2 - 10 years ago
This chapter tells us that the elders must be exanples to the younger generation. The elders must teach the younger generation the truth and the ways of the Lord. For the elders to do this they must keep themselves holy not do the things of this world. The marriage is sacred because when GOD joins a woman and a man together they become as one flesh. The elders must encourage the married couples to continue loving their spouses so that satan cannot break up their marriage.Loving your partner covers a multitude of sins by this i mean If you do not give love to your partner but you commit adultry with another person then you are sinning but if you love your partner you will not be tempted to commit adultry or sin against your partner and GOD.
