Truly the Grace of God is Amazing : to have saved a wretch like me. This passage in 2 Cor.12:9 is very meaning to me. I have prayed for this in many situations. God's strength is made perfect in my weakness : My Lord Jesus has proved it time and again. Thank God for faith and that I have a copy of His Word. I am truly Blessed to be a child of God.The Grace of God teaches me to deny ungodliness. Titus 2:11-13. Praise God !!!

(Verse 48) "And (you Lord) rescues me from my enemies. You hold me safe from violent opponents."

The enemy of man is sin. It has always been our enemy. This means that David is talking about God as Jesus, who saves us from sin by his death on the cross. Let's say it this way. David was a prophet looking into the future and seeing Jesus as our Savior. He saw Jesus as Paul saw him in Titus 2:13, "Our great God and Savior." And he pictured what Jesus would say in John 6:39, "But the Scriptures point to me."

Jesus further said to two of his followers in Luke 24:25-26, "You are such foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn't it clearly predicted by the prophets that the Christ would have to suffer all these things before entering his time of glory?" Verse 27 reads: "Then Jesus quoted passages from the writings in Moses and all the prophets, explaining what all the Scriptures said about himself."

Yes, the Psalms are about Jesus!

    God blesses those who understand!

CHAPTER 14:34 OF 1COR. PAUL, A WELL LEARNED APOSTLE OF CHRIST CLEARLY MADE US UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE CHURCH. NOT THAT WOMEN SHOULD NOT PREACH BUT THAT THEY ARE NOT TO PREACH IN A CONGREGATION OF MEN AND WOMEN. IN TITUS 2:2-5, APOSTLE PAUL ADMONISHED THE OLDER WOMEN TO TEACH THE YOUNG WOMEN THE WAY TO LIVE A HEALTHY FAMILY LIVE. A WOMAN CAN BECOME ANYTHING IN THE WORLD. SHE CAN RISE TO THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT OF A COUNTRY. BUT PREACHING WORK IS EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE MEN. THEY ARE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR HUSBAND AND CHILDREN AT HOME. THEY ARE TO HELP IN BUILDING A STRONG FAMILY. OUR GOD IS A GOD OF ORDER. IF WOMEN ARE ALLOWED TO PREACH JUST LIKE THE MEN, WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF THE HOME? FOR ANYONE WHO HAVE DOUBT CONCERNING THIS ISSUE, SUCH SHOULD PLEASE VERSE 34 WHERE APOSTLE WARNED THAT IF ANY MAN THINK HIMSELF TO BE A PROPHET, HE SHOULD KNOW THAT WHAT HE IS SAYING ARE NOT HIS WORDS BUT THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD. WE SHOULD RATHER OBEY GOD THAN FOLLOW OUR OWN INSTINCT.

My thoughts on Titus 2:7 is for me to show myself what I as a christian have learned in the doctrine as good works is a process is to die to self. also in how I with all sincerity of a pure heart am right with the Lord Jesus Christ so I can show myself to be pattern of good works unto Him first then to others. not easy as I am going through some good and some bad patterns that has to be changed.I am very grateful that the Lord God Almighty doesn't leave us with some bad patterns in our lives as He wants us to change into the likeness of His Son.

  • Rev. Autrey on Titus 2 - 11 years ago
One final thought on this verse,God is aware of himself as Jesus. He thinks as Jesus, He talks as Jesus, and he says "I am Jesus." As Jesus then, God was born in a stable, laid in a manger, and grew up obeying his human mother. He healed the sick, raised the dead, gave sight to be blind, and made the cripple walk. Then, as Jesus, God died on the cross for the sins of the world.
  • Rev. Autrey on Titus 2 - 11 years ago
( Titus 2:13) We don't have to worry about which of God's 3 persons occupy what space in God. This is irrevelant because self identity is purely mental, and requires no particular space or substance. If I know myself by a certain name, then I am that name or person. This is how Jesus is God. What a great revelation.
  • Rev. Autrey on Titus 2 - 11 years ago
In this verse Jesus is called our great God and Savior. This is possible because what we are talking about is God's self identity or presona, not some separate person. What I mean is, God is aware of himself as Jesus. That is why he referres to himself by this name in the 4 Gospels. The angel said to Joseph about God's birth,"You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. We know we are talking about God because he is called Immanuel, meaning "God is with us".

salavation in jesus christ alone. in other words salvation bygrace plus nothing else the thief on the cross is the greatest examble of salavtion. no time for good works, baptism, giving money to good causes, speaking in tonges, confrimed,no person can do any thing but exceptGod's gift, becauseif you add any thing to his gift it nufflied and furstrate the grace of God.jesus time of death on the cross had nothing to do with the thief needing to be baptisted. there has always been only one way to heaven.romans ch.4 ephch.2:8,9 titus ch.3:5,6,7. titus 2:11-15.galatians3:17-18.gal.ch 1:6-12. gal 2:16.gal3:6-9. the thief on the cross the greatest death bed converison of all time.gal3:1-5. my dad heard this message in early 50's on small zenith tv which my preious mother turned on every time this great lover of the gospel preached billy graham. and one sunday he didn't just drop us off he stayed and soon when forward and acceped jesus christ as his own personal saviour. because he already knew what the real purpose of going to church was, because of the hearing of the gospel on that little zenith tv.rlc God bless all those who hear this testimony. AND ABOVE ALL MAKE YOUR OWN LIFE A PATTERN OF RIGHT CONDUCT...THIS TEACHING SHOULD BE IN THE FRONT OF THE BIBLE NOT HIDDEN IN THE BACK' WE HAVE BEGUN TO PLAY MUCH TO MUCH IN THE MINISTRY, WHILE THE WORLD DIES IN UNBELIEF NOT KNOWING JESUS.

In these pastoral letters I Timothy and Titus are very similiar.
It is a letter also directed at the members of the Church.
Chapter 1 instructs Titus to silence the false teachers.
A way to silence the false teachers is to teach sound (healthy) doctrine.
This chapter instructs the ages, sex, and behavior the congregates should have in the work place or office.
When proper obedience is finally attained these false teachers will soon realize the embarassment of their exposure and pack up their heresies and leave.
So it is today, when the congregation finally picks up their Bible and starts reading it instead of letting the mercanery- oriented- career- proud preahers interpreting for them. They will have no choice but to elect another set of elders who, in turn, will find a Real Gospel preacher and then they will begin to "worship in truth and spirit".

iam just studing it now but it is for the early church. And the church for today it talks about the older women teaching the younger women this so because the pastor should not teach or council the young women so he does'nt fall in temption.
  • Elijah on Titus 2 - 12 years ago
The Bible says in 2 Peter 1 that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. The Scripture doesnt need to be interpreted or debated that's sin according to Romans 1:29-32, it just needs to be obeyed. The people that argue about whether the scripture is right or not need to accept Jesus as He is portrayed in His Word or hell will be their eternity. He said to avoid foolish and unlearnt questions in 2 Timothy 2. The grace of God has appeared to all men, Jesus said for God so loved the world that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • Samuel B. Buya on Matthew 1 - 12 years ago
Jesus was God manifested in the the flesh ( 1 Timothy 3:16). God is a Spirit( Holy Spirit) - John 4: 24; God was manifested in the flesh to take away the sin of the world. God purchased his church by his own blood ( acts 20:28). Isaiah 9:6 says unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and his name shall be called wonderful, counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting father. Notice hear it didnt say names but name. All the titles applied to Jesus in Isaiah 9:6 refer to the self same person. He was God above us in the old testament and Immanuel (God with us) when he was manifested in the flesh. In John 14:6-11 Jesus says, he that hath seen me hath seen the Father. Thomas in John 20:28 called him my Lord and God. In Titus 2:11-14, Jesus is refered to as the Great God and saviour. In 1 John 5:20 He is refered to as the true God and eternal life.
