spongeRick: "When Paul was born again in Acts 9:17+18 in verse 18 the word baptize is baptizo which can be translated on or in depending on context."
The spongeChrisE understanding It Is Written - Did you mean Acts 9:17-18? :)
Q: Was not Paul saved ON the road to Damascus ( Acts 9:3-6), By God's GRACE And MERCY ( Titus 3:4-7), thus making him OUR "pattern" Under GRACE ( 1 Timothy 1:16), and The Body Of CHRIST, 'Beginning The ONE NEW man' {a 'Different GRACE Entity' than the LAW assembly at Pentecost?}, with Paul ( Ephesians 2:15)?
Because, IF the "pattern" is to have a Spirit-filled Jew to HEAL our infirmities, and lay hands on us for the filling of The Holy Spirit, Many are not going to be saved, eh?
Notice, Christ Told the 'hesitant' Ananias, "...he IS a CHOSEN vessel Unto ME...," not, "he WILL BE chosen..." thus already "saved Earlier, ON the road to Damascus," Correct?
Thus, my understanding is "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing By The WORD Of God,"
hearing The Gospel Of GRACE, believing It, And being BAPTIZED 'BY' The Holy Spirit Into The {Spiritual} Body Of CHRIST, Seated In Heaven, In the twinkling of an eye," Correct?
Of course, we could discuss Further the confusing 'Mixture' of being "Baptized by Christ, WITH The {Filling Of The} Holy Spirit, for power, signs, and wonders, as at the Pentecostal {LAW assembly}, compared to Paul's:
ONE {Spiritual} Baptism 'BY' The Holy Spirit For Identification with/Into The Body Of CHRIST {GRACE assembly}, Thus, Fitting MUCH Better With OUR "pattern," Paul, eh?
I never thought Great Bible study would "sponging together" with a brother :)

Please be gentle, kind, respectful, and loving to each other as the Bible says in Titus 3:2, James 3:17, and more. Please carefully read these guidelines which are based on scripture. God is watching us.
In very truth, God accepts the penitent sinner purely on the act of true repentance for sins & faith in the Lord Jesus Christ ( Acts 16:31-33). That's the Holy Spirit's Work to draw you to God & give you faith to believe ( Ephesians 2:8,9). Water baptism doesn't save or even help in the saving of a person's soul - only one's faith in Christ's finished Work on the Cross does. If anything we do (even baptism) is added to faith, then it's no longer faith but of works ( Titus 3:4-6), & one can then unwisely say "I helped in securing my salvation". Our salvation lies only in the Cross & in believing it to be so. But baptism is an important step in a believer's Christian life.
I pray the Lord would help you & guide you in your difficult situation at home & provide a clear way to proceed with a water baptism with the consent of your husband. Every blessing in Christ.
I trusted in the Name of Christ and His work on the cross for my salvation ( Romans 10: 9-11). The word of the Lord is not open to any private interpretation, not my words but the Lord's word in 2 Peter 1:20.
Therefore as I grow in God's word my desire is that all will be included in God's Heaven. 2 Peter 3:9. That is why I go in Jesus Christ Name ( Acts 4: 10-12) and testify and witness to others about the gospel of Christ. It is my responsibility, my love for my Lord and Savior and also for the Lost in Christ to bring them to Christ. Matthew 28: 18-20.
If you read and study the Word of God, it will become evident why there are two gates. God is love and will not force anyone to trust in Him. Everyone has a choice, you choose. Or find a Bible believing church or a person whose been saved, reads the Bible, and serving God to help you make your decision about God's salvation and heaven. God is Love, but He is Holy first. God's desire is for all to be saved. Titus 3:5, 6
Call on God!! Before we pass into eternity and it will be too late.
Titus 3:4-7, "But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Every religion, true to its name, must teach that man must do everything possible (his own efforts) to be acceptable to God & ultimately, hope for the best. However the Faith that is found in Christ teaches that man can do nothing to please God - God had to take the initiative, from His Great Love for us, to provide the only offering that would be the basis for man's justification in His Sight.
And if God does the work, we can be certain that all who put their faith & hope in Him are guaranteed acceptability & eternity in His Kingdom. When we consider the teachings of both these books, the choice is up to us concerning what is the Truth. I would welcome further discussion on this topic. Blessings, Ron.
You state it is God the Father who comes down to open the seals. I only see what it says in Scripture: Revelation 5:1-7. This says the Lamb took the book, from Him that sat upon the throne, to open the seals. Revelation 6:1 begins to denote the Lamb beginning to open the seals. I don't know where you get the "Father opens the seals"? Where does it say this?
Yes there is only ONE God. The Creator of all. I worship Jesus Christ just as I worship the Father. I was saved by praying to Jesus Christ not just "God". Which I did, only praying to God, for twenty years feeling my prayers were not heard. Even the elders around the throne of God fell down before the Lamb.
So all power, authority, honor, and glory has been given to the Son. He is sitting on the Throne of God the Father. Many people fell at His feet when He walked the earth and He never told them not to as we see other angels do. The only way to the Father is through the Son. John 5:21-23, 1 John 5:11.
One question I would like to ask: Who is our Savior God or Jesus Christ? Titus 1:3-4, Titus 2:10, Titus 2:13, Titus 3:4, Titus 3:6.
"Trinity" is only a man made word meaning three in ONE pertaining to 1 John 5:7. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Another question if I may ask: What Spirit do we receive from above? The Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, or the Holy Spirit? The vatican has much more against it than just the "trinity" which is in Scripture. The devil is the father of lies and knows the best way to lie is mix lies with truth. Making it even harder to denote one from the other.
I follow what it says in Scripture not what any "man" teaches.
I have been tempted by the devil right after the Lord coming to me. It actually has made me stronger.
It seems you believe in a "rapture". Can you explain you thoughts on that with Scripture?
I appreciate your reply and look forward to your answers to the couple questions.
There is a lot of I KNOW AND YOUR WRONG attitudes out here when it comes to The Word of "God", (yes spelled with a capital G by the way), but is it really getting us anywhere? 2 Timothy 2:23

(But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.) When it comes to God's Word no one knows it better than God, go to him, pray for understanding and whatsoever in faith believing ye ask, ye shall receive! The preacher said it best in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.) God Bless and fight the good fight.

Acts 15:5-9 KJV., question at issue(Gentiles being circumcised). In Verse 7 Peter is speaking Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. In Acts 2 Peter used the keys(Jesus gave him the keys in Matthew 16:19 KJV.) first for the Jews, and in Acts 10 second, in the house of Cornelius for the Gentiles)(but Paul was distinctively(plainly) the apostle of the Gentiles, Gal. 2:7,8).

1 Corinthians 3:5-8 KJV: 5. Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6. "In keeping of them is great reward" Psalms 19:11
"Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just and good" Romans 7:12
"the law is spiritual" Romans 7:14
"Sin is the transgression of the law" 1 John 3:4
"Cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them" Galatians 3:10
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die" Ezekiel 18:14
"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse" Galatians 3:10
"weak through the flesh" Romans 8:3
"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight" Romans 3:20
"having no hope, and without God in the world" Ephesians 2:12
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all of our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away" Isaiah 64:6
"We have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one...There is no fear of God before there eyes...For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:9-23
"the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness" Romans 1:18
"Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off" Romans 11:22
I would like to reply to your question. So going back to Genesis 22 is the story of Abraham offering up his son Isaac. Which I believe is stated to be a test of faith from God to Abraham. Hebrews 11:7, James 2:21-23. To see how deep his faith truly was. Not just faith but faith by works.
As this topic has come up before I will share my beliefs with some Scripture to it. As another stated also, I do not say Jesus Christ is God the Father. I believe as God is eternal that instead of Him being alone why not have a Son whom is perfect in every aspect just as He is. To be in Him and with Him always in His heart and in His bosom John 1:18 for companionship (that actually just came to me today as I was standing outside praising the Lord).
I usually state Jesus Christ as Lord along with thirty other names I know by heart that I call Him while in prayer. I do not call Him God personally. Although He is one with God and I believe He is the Word of God(as it states in Revelation 19:13. Also some titles the Father and Son share are Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, Savior. As in the OT, using only one verse as there are many, that there is no Saviour but the LORD. Isaiah 43:11. Through out the NT God and Jesus Christ are both stated as our Saviour. Just some Titus 1:3, Titus 1:4, Titus 3:4, Titus 3:6.
So as you have your own beliefs, and just as well I have mine, I will stop here as I don't want to quarrel or argue any more about this. I believe Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God is eternal just as the Father and has always been with the Father. Yes His physical life came to this earth being born of Mary. As He had to suffer death for us as a perfect sacrifice or offering for our sins. Which is very honorable and why the Father honors Him higher than any other being. Even the highest Holy angels. Hebrews 1:4.
And about Him being at the Fathers right hand Steven saw this before He was stoned in Acts 7:55-56. So it's not just a metaphor. God Bless

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ our Passover Lamb for ever and ever!
Indeed Sasha, it truly is a blessing to encounter someone of like minded faith, that has come away from the beguilement of Rome and her sorcerers.
Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. For we, of our own will cannot change anyone's mind. Only the Holy Ghost can. For one man sows, another waters, but God giveth the increase.
Of a truth, the doctrine of Christ is quite simple when you receive it, but only the one true God (the Father the Word and Holy Ghost) can reveal it unto babes.
This is why Jesus told Peter after he answered Jesus saying "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 16:16-17
And avoid foolish questions and contentions as brother Paul instructed brother Titus in Titus 3:9-11 9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
We are just called to speak as the oracles of God sending His word out like a sonar wave, and depending on how people respond we either continue speaking or reject them and leave it between them and the Lord after the second warning.
Much Love to you, Sacha , in Jesus' name.
P.S. just to confirm we are brothers and fellow soldiers: you have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and have been filled with the Holy Ghost (as evidenced by speaking in an unknown tongue)?
I see you are back in your frustrated attack mode again. As Paul stated 'those of the true church (spiritual church of God) shall die daily.'
I have given you enough information and scripture to answer all of your questions. As usual, meaning (from conversation with many other physical motivated christian's,) you have ears that hear and eyes that cannot see. Again I feel sorrow for that, with the hope that sometime this sorrow may bring your repentance, that is my hope; yes, your repentance. Each and every time is converse with other's such as yourself it reinforces why Jesus upset the 'table outside the temple'. May your day be full, of physical joy and happiness anh with hope you will understand the words of brother Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-11. Peace.
Interesting. So after 60 years of "intense" study of the Bible that is all you can say to me? I must state again. You proclaim there is no unforgivable sin(blasphemy of the Holy Ghost) though Jesus Christ says there is. ( 2 Peter 20-21.
With your one statement of "God shall never allow His Son to be crucified afresh". You mean like Hebrews 9:24-26. Yes I understand that. This does not give us free will to go about sinning in this world. Like stated in Hebrews 10:26-29 which I left for you in the previous post. Which would just be putting His blood to shame as stated. Sounding to be of the unforgivable sin which only the Lord shall judge. Of coarse we can make mistakes and we will always have forgiveness if we are true to humble ourselves before the Lord. Confess our sins, or mistakes, and strive to repent of them. To live for the Will of God not our own will. James 4:7-8
Seeing no real response to my couple questions which is ok. Back to the original question which is what led me to post to you in the first place. The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit being different. Which again I say is false. Giving you detailed information of the original Greek texts which predates the English translation of the Scriptures.
As you have veered to reply to this information several times I do not expect a reply from you.
One other aspect I have been led to reply to is about how you stated "once anointed one cannot sin". As I can only perceive what you mean is to have received the Holy Ghost after giving our life to the Lord? Unless this is from a higher level in which God knows exactly who are His from before we took our first breath in this earth. How He knows the end before the beginning which is truth.
Now I know some believe in "once saved always saved". Which is nice to think but there is Scripture to contradict with this thought. Like Hebrews 10:26-31, ( 2 Peter 10:20-22. Jesus stating in Matthew 7:21-23. Also in Matthew 24:10-12 that there shall be a falling away and it is "he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved".
As we are all just vessels it is Gods choice alone who is to be saved. As in Romans 9:19-24, ( 2 Timothy 2:19-21. Even when God spake to Moses in Exodus 33:19. It is all His will which is Holy and pure.
Though as stated in the couple verses I have posted it seems that people can lose their salvation. As I would believe there are people who have fallen away and maybe hate God and Jesus Christ now. Also knowing of a couple that have fallen away but come back to the Lord. Which I believe shall be forgiven. As it is His will and all things are possible with God.
I very much enjoyed reading your reply and I agree with most of what you stated. One thing you stated is very special to me. Shown to me very early, by our Father, in my journey with the Lord.
To try and not make this too long. About ( 1 Corinthians 15 24-28. Stating how the last enemy to be destroyed is death, this being the end. The end of just my life or all physical life? I cannot see how God is not all in all now. How He is the source of all life. The Creator of all. Knowing everything about everything, knowing the end before the beginning, and always being in control in Heaven and earth. Like you stated it is His Will that shall be done not ours. Job 34:14-15. Death being a part of this physical life when our spirit shall return to God. Ecclesiastes 12:7. All we see is vanity but what is not seen is eternal as ( 2 Corinthians 4:18.
How do you perceive when Jesus states of the sin that shall not be forgiven in Matthew 12:32 "neither in this world, neither in the world to come"? Do you perceive this as another physical earth or world after us? Or as like unto the angels who sinned and were cast down(from Heaven) to Tartarus ( 2 Peter 2:4? Meaning neither in earth or in Heaven.
I thank you very much for your reply and cherish very much someone to converse about spiritual things like this.
I still do not understand what you mean about the Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost to be different. Can you please give a reply about how in the Textus Receptus, the Greek texts, which our Holy Bible(NT) is translated from. "Ghost" and "spirit" is the same Greek word "pneuma". Strongs number G4151. Translated over 250 times as "spirit" and over 90 times "ghost" in English. There is no difference in Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. That I can see anyway.
Man shall not liue by bread alone, but by euery word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Every word means just what it says. God's mystery is written in parables. These two letter words are just as meaningful as any other words. Thy kingdome come. Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heauen.(in earth) one must be careful here to understand the spiritual meaning, not the physical meaning. It is actually saying; Thy will be done in the physical(earth) as it is in the spiritual(heaven). blasphemie against the holy Ghost, shall not bee forgiuen vnto men. The Holy Ghost is the spiritual baptism given to a few by the Father through Jesus the Christ. He mediates this anointment. Once anointed one cannot sin ( 1John 3:8-9) making blaspheme of the Holy Ghost impossible which eliminates the unforgivable sin spoken of. I could never go against the teaching of my brother Jesus Christ. Read throughly 1Cor 15:24-28, it answers if and when God shall be all in all, that time is yet to come. And when all things shall bee subdued vnto him, then shal the Sonne also himselfe bee subiect vnto him that put all things vnder him, that God may be all in all. If defilement could occur then God the Father would be judged as mistaken, heaven forbid. God makes no mistakes. The word 'if' puts a condition on the statement that follows it. God's decision making is never wrong so a judgement of God would never occur. Many statements in God's word are proceeded by 'if', be careful to under stand their true spiritual meaning, they are there for a reason just as 'in' and 'on' have their purpose. When one understands these words put there by God the Father one's walk becomes wholesome and one's faith grows into knowledge, knowledge no man can takeaway. May God's grace be with you.
I am in no way frustrated. Your question of "in" or "on" has nothing to do with what started our conversation. Please don't think I called you a fool sir. The question was foolish to me. When Jesus spake(or Isaiah himself) Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me" does that mean He was not filled with the Spirit of God? Or was it just "upon" Him? Not seeing any reason to give thought to that detail. Just to show "on" or "in" is in Scripture and doesn't seem to make much of a difference. And that being about the Spirit of the Lord being "in" or "on".
So back to thinking "spirit" and "ghost" are different for some reason. Even stating in the original Greek texts there is no "spirit" or "ghost". It is the same word. What do you reply to that? Also no reply about Luke 11:13 etc?
Maybe another thing. You state there is no unforgivable sin. Which Jesus spake in Matthew 31-32 that there is. Are you against the teachings of Jesus Christ?
You also state there will be no more Jesus Christ one day? Is not God all in all now? Is he not the source of all life and the Creator of everything? His knowledge, wisdom, is surpassing anything anyone can even comprehend. He knows everything because He is in everything.
Then you stated "God the Father would be judged as mistaken" for whatever reason. God cannot be judged by anyone or anything. He is the Almighty and He does whatever He pleases. As you wrote "God makes no mistakes" which is correct. Then why would have Jesus spake of an unforgivable sin. But you say there isn't? It seems you have come to your own conclusion on this and surpassed the Word of God?
Jesus Christ is our Savior and Salvation sent by our Father. He is the only way to the Father and I don't think He's ever going anywhere.
Seeing as you are and elder saying "you have studied the Bible for 60 years" I shall patiently wait for your reply to the couple questions I stated. If you would like. With respect.
Our discussion seemingly has led you to a point of frustration. That was never my reason. If you are upset or perturbed I am sorry ( Romans 7:9-10). As far as where have I (heard) what I have shared with you; thats an easy answer. In your terminology, I (heard) it from 60 years of intense study but more importantly I (heard) it from my Father God Jehovah. As far as my question you judged as foolish? Maybe to that question you should consider again with or without our interaction. The answer may just be a furthering of your walk to glory ( Hebrews 6:1). After all is said and done God shall be 'All in All' ( 1Cor 15:28), no more Jesus, no more Christ; that is where the question I ask came from, foolishness may God forbid. I have so much more to share but I'm not sure you could hear ( Matthew 11:5). These are not physically blind, lame or deaf but spiritually just as in John 6:53 -61. May you enjoy your walk as I have fully enjoyed mine; Christ, Jesus, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, Comforter, Satan, yes they are all of God, not on God but in God.
So no answer to my question of "where have you heard this"? Again, the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, and the Holy Ghost are all spoken of as one in John 14. Also as I have stated that the word "ghost" and "spirit" are the same Greek word in the Greek texts. Just translated to two English words that mean the same thing. Is not the word Holy more important than "ghost" or "spirit"? If it is Holy it is from God.
So in places like Luke 11:13 is Jesus speaking of another "spirit or ghost" than in John or anywhere else? How's John 7:39? There are many other verses also that speak of "the Spirit of God" and the "Spirit of Christ" being in you after you are saved. Romans 8:9, ( 1 Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 4:30.
Do you know of ( 1 John 5:7? Where it states the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are one?
Seeing as you have not given an answer to my one question I shall not entertain your foolish question. Which has nothing to do with our discussion.
Thank you for your time. I hope what I have posted shall open your eyes.
This hymn verse speaks to me: When He shall come with trumpet sound, O , may I then in him be found; Clad in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.
"The Solid Rock" verse 4
Edward Mote 1797-1874
The Lord is my defense, and my God is the rock of my refuge- Psalms 94:22
I see where you have stated 'the Holy Ghost and the Comforter are one' from chapter14. But nowhere does 14 state Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit are one. The Holy Spirit is the holiest of all spirits, it is the spirit of the Father Jehovah, while the Comforter is the 'comfort' (knowledge of the truth)
given to the members of God's true church, the church of God. The Holy Ghost is the anointing given to those of the true church, the spiritual baptism.
My question to you is, do you believe 'in' Christ or 'on' Christ?
Where have you heard this? The word "spirit" and "ghost" are the same Greek word "pneuma" throughout the NT. As in John 14 the Holy Ghost is referred to as the "Spirit of truth" and the "Comforter". The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. Just using a different English word "ghost or spirit".
If one mistakes the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost as one and the same, confusion will occur. Blaspheme of the Holy Ghost Is an impossibility. So there are no unforgivable sins. The Holy Ghost is an anointing given by God through His Son, Jesus Christ to those worthy. If defilement could occur then God the Father would be judged as mistaken, heaven forbid. God makes no mistakes.

God Bless.
I went to Jesus Only church, but not anymore. Thanks Linda

When it comes to God's Word no one knows it better than God, go to him, pray for understanding and whatsoever in faith believing ye ask, ye shall receive!
Acts 2:37-38 KJV., what Israel(Jews) must do. Acts 10:44:48 KJV., the Holy Spirit(Ghost) given to the Gentiles(Greeks). So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase(Holy Ghost). 8. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

God Bless
10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
I have given you enough information and scripture to answer all of your questions. As usual, meaning (from conversation with many other physical motivated christian's,) you have ears that hear and eyes that cannot see. Again I feel sorrow for that, with the hope that sometime this sorrow may bring your repentance, that is my hope; yes, your repentance. Each and every time is converse with other's such as yourself it reinforces why Jesus upset the 'table outside the temple'. May your day be full, of physical joy and happiness anh with hope you will understand the words of brother Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-11. Peace.
Thank you for all your time.
God Bless.
God shall never allow His Son to be crucified afresh...
Matt 12:30...
Thank you again for your time sir. God Bless you.
God Bless.
Tom
God Bless.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.
"The Solid Rock" verse 4
Edward Mote 1797-1874
The Lord is my defense, and my God is the rock of my refuge- Psalms 94:22
given to the members of God's true church, the church of God. The Holy Ghost is the anointing given to those of the true church, the spiritual baptism.
My question to you is, do you believe 'in' Christ or 'on' Christ?
Tom
God Bless.
