    Job chapter 1 verse 21.

This is such a wonderful verse which clearly demonstrates the temporal state of this world, but the eternal state of our own souls and indeed the urgent need of our individual requirement to be saved before it is too late. What a wonderful demonstration of Jobs faith in God and even in despair he Blesses The LORD.

Wonderful? Do you truly believe that you would be fine with God if he killed your children just to win a wager with the Devil? Oh, that's right, he replaced them later with different children. I guess that makes everything all right. A truly "Loving God" would never play this game with Satan.

Job didn't sin by blaming God, but you do? God allowed Satan to test Job. While God views all life as precious, He likely has a different perspective than us regarding life on Earth- we view it as the most important thing ever, yet is described as so temporary it's a vapor James 4:14, and Philippians 1:21. If the children went straight to paradise in heaven do you feel that is "unloving"?
  • Thomas F Hills - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
Yes, very unloving. We can only deal with reality and reality says that family is everything to us simple minded mortals. This test was depraved and heinous, so much so, I repeat God could never do this. Although the God from the old testament is really a Bastard. My God is good, kind, loving and considerate of our human ways and feelings. This story is a hoax. "Believe not for they lie."

@ Thomas Hills, You need to renew your mind with God's written words, for God ways and thoughts are higher than your ways and thoughts. You have to be a doer of God's words, and not just a reader or hearer. Do Roman 12:1-2; a lot more. Submit to God, and the Devil, and his demons will flee from you. Cast away thoughts that go against God's words or thoughts that goes against God's written words, do 1 Corinthians10:5; more, and you have to rightly divide the word of truth anyway. Only Jesus can the author and finisher of your faith. Remember Job depended on God. With faith and love (obeying God) we can please God. Get a deep foundation in the word of God in the new testament books first.

Disagree. Satan is evil, God is good and loves you and everyone. If your family member gets sick, do you blame God? Tornado hurts your child, blame God? Cancer, blame God? The story of Job was a special circumstance in the old testament before Jesus died for our sins and gave us grace. Today Satan has power to wreak havok on your life, but not to kill you. Jesus paid your debt- is that not love?
