I have heard many misquote verse 18. For example: A wife was pestering her husband about something, justifying what she was doing by saying she was just being his help-mate. The word after help in verse 18 is "meet", not "mate". Meet is an adjective, meaning suitable. Mate is a noun meaning the same thing as help.
