Someone asked Jesus what was the most important commandment.
Matthew 22:36 - Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 - This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 - And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 - On these two commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets.
Hopefully we enough sense to know that we are not to love the enemies of God and have them as neighbors.
Maybe we should move if you have satanists as neighbors?
Pray for them and share the gospel. Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Are you suggesting we should run from our given vocation? perhaps we should consider telling them of the love of god, or perhaps the forgiveness god freely provides to anyone who confesses and repents of their sin or rebellion against god. to show that love has turned many lives around and could make you obedient to god's commant to go ant spread the gosple.
Jesus commanded us to love our enemies not hate them, Matthew 5:44. In John 14:15 Jesus said if you love him then obey his commands. Those who do not, don't love and Jesus aren't following Jesus and aren't real Christians is the implication. Loving our enemies and praying for them in this context I believe refers to human beings and not the satan or demons. Human beings are all made in God's image and can still can be saved, even those who currently claim to follow satan. I don't see any scripture saying we should put ourselves in physical danger or risk of temptation to minister to them, but love them and pray for them, yes, that's exactly what Jesus said to do.
Yes we are commanded to love OUR ENEMIES. So do you love Satan? We are not to love the enemies of God.
King David said: Psalms 139:21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
2 Chronicles 19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
So feel free to love satan and his followers all you want, I pass on that.
How do you explain Romans 8:21 and it's context Scriptures? " Because the creature itself shall be delivered from the bond of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." For his earnest expectation of his waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God (vs 19). I was faxing out to a secular radio station, after one fax before 2001, because I saw myself as the person the rock-n-rollers were singing about along time earlier. It wasn't until then that I could use it. I faxed many things from the Bible as it saw it related to the Bible, the world and to myself. I would just put my finger on any verse. This was how I'd confirmed what I was supposed to my dad. Now c Ps.55:19 20
It appears you either didn't fully read my comment or else ignored that I said loving enemies is talking about people, not satan. You can take your argument up with Jesus if you disagree with what he clearly commanded in Matthew 5:44. Are you disregarding new testament verses with direct quotes from Jesus and preferring instead to cite an old testament verse out of context solely because it fits your position?
don't forget john 3:16 and of course the words who! so ever believe! Lucifer from the start made its decision and made its eternal reservation. Men has hope and a second chance to made the right decision, no matter what situation and what pitfalls there in.
How happy for you that chaplain that you can be removed from having to be neighbors with lost souls who happen to be turned the wrong way. But the request was made for and by someone whose neighbors are turned the wrong way. I also do not have satanists as immediate neighbors, but where I live you do not have to go far to find such lost people. Like the original post request, I am concerned how I must be in regards to facing or encountering such people.
Exodus 22:18 was not a suggestion. when the church tolerates evil, then evil spreads and abounds, EVIL SHALL NOT TOLERATE THE CHURCH. Soon we shall see this come to pass.
