when we die, what happens to our spirit awaiting resurrection? Why do some say he/she is now in heaven, or he/she were lost souls. What happens when we die?

True Reggie but this was before Jesus died and was Resurrected and before Pentecost The Old Testerment Saints had the Promise they were Covered by Christs Blood Psalm32:1 we have the Reality and are Washed in His Blood1Cor6:11 When Jesus returns all those known by God as His own who died before Pentecost will Rise first those who died after are now in Heaven Rev7 Christians who are on Earth will be taken to Heaven with Jesus. At Judgment those who took the Mark of the Beast will suffer with all Unbelievers Eternally This is not God's Will it was their Choice 2Pet3:9 This Earth will be destroyed and the New Earth will be Created 2Peter3:13 there will be no more Suffering or Death only Joy.

No one can say for sure if another person is lost...My brother died from after being burned badly at the age of 42. he had been witnessed to and prayed for many times by me and many others. He came close a time or two, but just couldn't accept Christ. He lived for 3 days in and out of consciousness and couldn't communicate the last two. I pray he ask the Lord to come into his heart....By all accounts he was lost, but Acts 2:21 says, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." He couldn't speak to us, but he still could speak to God...It only takes a second to be saved. Remember this when you hear of a lost soul.....

Very True Debra God tells us we are not to Judge anyones Salvation only He knows their Hearts and Destiny As you shared about your Brother they may Repent on their deathbed I did at the point of Suicide I didn't think anyone could Love such a Rotten Sinner like I was especially God I had hurt Him so much how could He forgive me but He did and will untill Im Perfected in His Love But that does not mean I have an excuse to Continue to Sin Romans8:1 even though Jesus is my Advocate but Sin Pollutes and Hurts So I'm now Working Out my Salvation but not meaning working for it Phil2 God knows those who are His even before we are Born and He tells us not one of us will be lost He Protects our Soul.

Luke Chapter 22:43 Jesus spoke to one of the thieves on the cross next to him and said, " Verily I say unto thee, to day thou shalt be with me in paradise." this tells me we will be in Heaven immediately after death....Amen!

I believe this is true, that when we are in the spirit of Christ,we are like him,and are as he is. These truths are plainly written in the scripture. Satan and hell have no power over you, not now, or when you die and are translated into heaven. This because of what he did on the cross for us!This is called redemption, through His only begotten Son. Remember that our flesh will always condemn us and say we are not worthy to be forgiven. That is why we pray for forgiveness and thanksgiving. Pray without ceasing.

I lost my brother ,he was 51 . The Lord took him in his sleep. Although it was a unexpected thing, I new and had confidence that he is in paradise with Christ! The Lord gave us time a few days prior to discuss the gospel of Christ. When I think back on the events in his life, I'm convinced that the Lord used him in special ways as a step father and Father. Like all of us he had his faults, but new he was forgiven. Even tho he is not here it is like he never left, probably because I know because of CHRISTS promises I will see him again. That is easy Revelation Chapter 6:
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the SOULS souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they CRIED cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the Earth.

The souls of those in Christ are in heaven and those martyred in the tribulation cried with a loud voice. Soul sleep in an unbiblical doctrine.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

John 5:24-Verily, verily, I say unto you,He that heareth my word,and believeth on him that sent me,hath everlasting life,and shall not come into condemnation;but is passed from death unto life. In Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised him from the dead,thou shalt be saved. In my opinion, if people have not accepted the LORD as their Savior,when he comes back to get the "church",the unsaved--those who have not accepted Him will go to sheol, the very pit of hell forever.

That's a great question. While I don't believe it's explicitly stated in the Bible, my personal belief is that our souls/spirit will be in sleep. Do you know how when you sleep it seems instant when you wake up next? I believe the same is happening to those whose physical bodies have died and they are awaiting Christ's return and judgment. Luke 8:52, Job 14:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

When we are in Christ we are new creatures. God is not a God of the dead but of the living, There are many mansions in his house, "I go and prepare a place for you".These are present truths and Sincere prayer will lead you into his spiritual blessings, so that you might think you have eternal life. When we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins. Judge not things before there time. Study the scripture to show thyself approved lean not unto thine own understanding. In everything acknowledge Him, and he will guide your path. Our God is a mighty God .

Thank you Fred and yes we do indeed need Gods Wisdom not Wordly reasoning and understanding, if not corrected it will lead to acceptance of Sin. Proverbs 4:7 -Proverbs15:2. We were not Born with Gods Wisdom so we all lack it but when we ask in Faith we will receive James 1:5-8 because it is according to Gods Good Will for us as is the Empowering of The Holy Spirit 1Cor2 - Luke11:13 and also Confirmed in the Scriptures is our need to seek Jesus our only Spiritual Teacher Matthew 23:8-10 who Leads us into all Truth and also when we Study the Scriptures as you shared Fred but of course not like the Pharisees did John5:37-40. Thank you Bob, it's very clear in the Scriptuers you shared that we will be in Heaven when we die because we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and our lives will confirm that we do too unless Heart Repentance is on the deathbed like the Man on the cross next to Jesus, they will excape the flames but there will be no Rewards1Cor3 if their works are Wordly not Gods Good Works. I shared the same Scriptuers as you in answer to what is known as the Great Tribulation and what is called the Rapture today but like the Names Trinity, DNA, Aids and Dinosores which are Modern Names too its Reality as we know is also Confirmed in Scripture.
