The language used in this verse is particularly beautiful but I'm a bit confuse by it. My interpretation of this is the Lover's presence is so intoxicating to the Beloved that just hearing the name brings her joy. What confuses me though is the use of the word "virgins", is she simply referring to herself or do many people adore the Lover just like her?
This is a beautiful testimony and prophecy of Christ's love for his people. "Virgins" are considered (the church) or people in Christ. See Matthew 25:1-13. Verse 2 and 3 proclaims Christ's love and having a relationship with Christ is health and healing to us wholly and is better than wine! Verse 4 is expressed being drawn nearer to Christ, through His "love invitation" and acceptance. Those who receives his invitation and love will run after him and will be glad and rejoice in him, and will remember his love more than wine: the upright love him.
