    The first commandment "Thou shalt not have other gods before me" Exodus 20. Jesus said Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, mind and soul ( Matthew 22). Paul said an idol is nothing verse 4, they have eyes that cannot see, ears cannot hear, mouth can’t speak and feet can’t walk. Meaning an idol can’t answer a prayer but only God can. They that sacrifice to idols are actually sacrificing to the devil (1 Corinthian 10:19-20). The idea that ye can have a private interpretation is true, but only when one ignores the context.
