I think one needs to grow up reading the KJV to more easily appreciate its content, as in my case. In fact, when we memorize Scriptures from the KJV, it's difficult to resort to any other translation. Maybe, if you read the KJV and used an Interlinear Bible alongside or Commentary, your study will be better and more richer.

If you think the kjv is difficult reading the interlinear isn't any easier written by George Ricker Berry. The revelation of scripture is conquered through prayer. I have read the KJV since the beginning. In the late 1950 the revised standard version made its first appearance since than we have many, many more. I read the bible literally, for what it says. The holy spirit must not be dictated too. I 'm sorry that you have a hard time with it! But remember why should it be easy It is after all the word of God! Their are many preachers who are making a living today using other texts. If you can get enough church's agreeing on 1 interpretation ,why not have 1 church Remember the hid leaven

Fred, the points you share are very valid & indeed, with prayer and being in tune to what the Spirit is saying or guiding us in, is paramount. Yet, though the other difficulties presented by using the Interlinear are real, the student does have the opportunity to read the direct translations from the original language (providing faithful manuscripts are being used). It has helped me a lot & caused me to be less dogmatic & judgemental when a Scripture is simply not clear & when the Spirit hasn't given further Light. E.g. 1 Cor 15:29, in reference to 'baptism for the dead'. Unless the Spirit enlightens us or Paul arrives to give us his thoughts, we will always have dispute over this verse.
