  • John Lynch on Tobit 2:10 - 4 years ago
I found out about Tobit when I was a teenager. I think my brother told me because he was into the Grateful Dead. Apparently they got the title of their band from Tobit.

The dead ; who were left in the street to rot after they were killed by the wicked king, were grateful that one of their country men took them and gave them a burial. He even risked his life to do so. I was never that crazy about the Dead's music , but I sure liked that story. It took a considerable amount of time to find it.

I'm of the humble opinion that if this gentleman did exist, and he did do as the story stated; then-

THE Lord was like" Wow! This guy is so cool that I'm going to put him in my book!"

I dont know... I like this story. I know doesn't it follow the general theme of the of the other books. They point to the messiah, or the nation of Israel, the people. This is story about poor suffering Jew in Diaspora who did something remarkable for his brethren.
