    Why would God harden pharaoh's heart and use Pharaoh to destroy and show His power?

    Paul says, For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power"

    I believe the answer involves a pre-existence, meaning we existed before we came to earth.

    Pharaoh was a vessel of dishonor and would not purge himself becoming a vessel of honor.

    Scriptures verifying a pre-existence:

    Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

    Romans 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying ...

    1 Peter 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you ...

    Psalms: 90:1-2 (A Prayer of Moses the man of God.) Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

    Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

    Proverbs: (Wisdom, she is speaking of being with the Lord before and during Earth's creation)

    Proverbs 8:4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

    Proverbs 8:30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

    Proverbs 8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

    Proverbs 8:24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

    Proverbs 8:24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

    Proverbs 8:25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

    Proverbs 8:26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
