    What was the purpose of the law?

    To show us that God is Holy and cannot dwell with or tolerate any kind of sin.

    The Ten Commandments give us a clear picture of what God expects. No exceptions. Exodus 20

    Jesus gave us 2 commandments

    The 10 commandments show us that we are not able to live up to Gods standards; and we need a Savior (Jesus).

    The purpose of the Law was to end self righteousness and unbelief (sin) while allowing escape from death eternal by faith in Jesus Christ and his resurrection. The Mercy Seat covers the law and gives hope of life eternal. The brave can enter through the veil by faith, while time remains.
